I had a disappointing experience here yesterday. I've been to a lot of Wendy's in the midwest and I was very disappointed with this one yesterday. This is an older store but it has been updated and remodeled, making it very attractive. I selected Wendy's because I was in a hurry, it was on my route, and I prefer Wendy's to the clown house. (I might add, it was necessary for me to go inside instead of just using the drive-thru.) However, the service here was disappointing slow. There was only one cashier, she was both taking and filling orders, not the usual system at Wendy's. The people in line ahead of me were placing orders large enough to feed the 2nd Army, and the poor counter girl was not getting any support from the kitchen team. Usually, at a Wendy's (or any other fast food joint) the cashier takes the order, puts the order ticket aside, and another team member fills the order while the cashier takes the next order in line. Yesterday, the cashier was filling the orders, too. Most annoying was the drive-through window operator, who had time to duck over to the counter to fill orders but did not do so. There was also an associate who was maintaining the dining room, who could have helped at the counter but made no effort to do so. No one from the kitchen area made an effort to step up and help fill orders. There was s district manager in the store who also made no effort to investigate or solve the problem, nor to come to the counter and apologize for the disappointing service. In defense of the restaurant, perhaps they were short of help that didn't show for their shifts. Perhaps they under scheduled, but it doesn't matter. With no explanations and no attempt to serve the long queue waiting for service, the disappointment remains.
