If you don't judge a book by its cover, then this place is a solid choice for sandwich type food. The place could use a little decorating (hello 1970s wants it signage back) but you're there for the food so look past it. While the menu is limited, the beef brisket and pulled pork are well portioned. The service is fine and the people are quite friendly.

Solid bbq place in rural Iowa. They offer a nice variety of meats which is great for bbq fans, they had two types of beef, pulled pork, chicken, sausage, turkey, and I think I got them all? Love to see choices so there is something for everyone. I got the brisket and pulled pork, it was pretty good overall. Had a nice flavor to it, nice color as well. I would have liked it a little more moist taste to it, but it was good. The sauce is just a regular style bbq sauce served warm, which should be standard everywhere! The beans were really good and the coleslaw was a more chopped up version that was a nice side as well. This is a no frills place, it isn't the most fancy of places but you can get some good bbq here.

I did find the other posts helpful. I went with the two meat plate and chose brisket and pulled pork. I travel quite a bit and eat barbecue often so my judgment might be a little more critical than some. The brisket was cooked to perfection but in my opinion lacked favor. Just seemed a little bland. Pulled pork was also cooked very well and it had a smokier flavor but still missing a certain bite that you get in most bbq out there. Some places you don't even need sauce. Which brings me to my last statement. They bring you a warm bottle of sauce which is pretty neat. The flavor was decent but I definitely like an assortment of sauces which has to include a spicy.

Maaaan....I'm tellin ya'll...I had one of the best loaded potatoes (topped with brisket) here that I've ever had in my life! Dude's want to run their mouths about the appearance of the place need to just stay home and have their obedient wives/boyfriends cook for them. This is a MAN's place. Keep your stuffy a$$ suit and tie attitude at home. No frills, good eats type of joint with very cool and caring people running it. Prices are exceptionally reasonable. Bring cash because credit/debit cards are not accepted. I'll definitely be back to try their ribs...and their pork...and their...and their...and their... :)

Great food and very friendly service. All meats are deep smoked and sides are all homemade. They bring you a warm bottle of sauce on your tray just in case you need more sauce...but you wouldn't Driving down the road you might say pass but I say don't do it.
