My girl and I rode our motorcycle from Davenport to check out some new scenery. Decided to ride down Snake Alley and grab some late lunch at Big Muddy's. First off, spectacular view of the bridge to Illinois over the Mississippi River. The place is nestled under the infrastructure of the bridge. Really cool. The menu. Rather busy. Rather pricey for what wad offered. We opted for their Sunday buffet. All you can eat fried chicken and BBQ ribs. Came with salad bar, soup, veggies, baked or mashed potatoes. Pretty good spread. Vegetable beef soup might've been out of a can. Ribs seemed like, water logged. From boiling, I assume. They did slip entirely off the bone just by picking them up. The fried chicken was light and crispy. Great fried chicken. Service was good. Bar had great high ceilings showing the rafters. Kinda cool. All in all, the chicken was good, but I'll probably go somewhere else for real BBQ ribs next time we visit Burlington.

I have tried REALLY hard to enjoy the food here. The chef sucks, the management sucks, the food isn't fresh, my Bloody Mary was a Magarita hybrid... They have one very sweet waitress that needs to migrate over to The Drake.

Went there for sushi night, honestly if you can't make sushi, don't put it on the menu, the rice was hard and the fish was thin like paper. Sushi night is a disaster. Will go back to eat again but definitely not for sushi.

Excellent buffer for $15.95; Guys raved about the prime rib and pork loin. Huge cuts of prime rib. Salad bar was also very good; excellent potato salad. Friends had the turkey, also raved about it. Good atmosphere, neat old exposed brick building. Great service.

Yay! This place was a ways off when we started to get hungry (though on or way), but when we saw the menu we had to try it. Worth the wait! Beautiful view of the river, high water marks from the 93 and 08 floods on the wall, prompt friendly service and great food. We had some fried cauliflower (lightly breaded, crunchy but still discernibly cauliflower), potato skins (just right tater to cheese ratio), portabella mushroom sandwich (tender and juicy) and dessert. The sandwich we split came with sweet potato fries and this brown sugar dipping sauce that is to die for. The dessert menu has lots of choices, all under five dollars (prices throughout the menu are very reasonable). We had a big plate of strawberry short cake made over two big biscuits! Delicious. Thanks Big Muddy's. We will be back.

Yum! We went for the Sunday brunch buffet. So much to choose from. Awesome ribs, prime rib and tons of fixins. Just delicious, $2 mimosas and only $12 for adults and $5/$6 for kids. We will be back again!

Great view. Lame hostess and wait staff. On duty manager could care less when hostess staff turns away two parties of 4 that came for their buffet but got told it closed to new customers at 8 when it is 8:10 yet they are leaving it open until 8:30 for those already here. Both parties of 4 left. Dumb business move! We stayed and ate off menu it was ok but they have become known more for the buffet so If they are not taking new customers for it then walk and go elsewhere. The ribs and chicken and shrimp on the buffet is what you want to hit the place for. Not the rest

I understand this place gets great ratings, and our experience was good but it's not really the best experience in the city. Great service, and a wonderful Pork Tenderloin, (i hear the best in town and it did not disappoint.) But there is way to much dressing on the salad, and the sweet potato fries are not in my top 5 sweet potato fries experiences. But do go there if you're in town for awhile because the view is wonderful, and the building used to be the train depot so they have it adorned with many train things for you to enjoy. And the place is so giant I'm sure it's hopping during a Hawkeye game and maybe our number of stars will go up if we go there again. They charge you to split a sandwich, 2 dollars, but you do get it on a different plate and they give you an extra side order, (i don't know if it's less than the full side order but regardless it was more than enough food as a half order). Overall we'd eat there again, best in town? not better than the pizza down the street at Moto's, but the view makes this place a must visit for those multi night stays in Burlington. And check out the flood lines on the wall to see how underwater the building was during the last two floods.

It's ok, nothing spectacular but in the top rankings of the restaurants in Burlington ... Food was decent, service was good but there definitely was room for improvement

Its pretty good. In a bigger town, it would be so-so but the selection of quality restaurants isn't the best. They do have a great happy hour and great fish specials. Some of their salads and sandwiches leave something to be desired. Pretty decent salad bar. Great atmosphere and an awesome view. Their all you can eat catfish special is HUGE, especially during Lent.

Had dinner with family last night. Great view and good food, excellent service. Look forward to trying it again soon. Casual atmosphere that makes for a great experience.

Nice view. Service is not very good, food was alright but not good. Salad bar is small, not a lot of options.

Good!! Came for my birthday and had a good night!! Big salad bar! I got a pulled pork bbq sandwich and it was great! The sweet potato fries and dipping sauce were excellent. Only thing I was unimpressed with was the lava cake, It was just cake, not "lava cake". So that was disappointing. But otherwise a good night!!!

Beautifully restored old building, steps from the mighty Mississippi. Two of us stopped in for lunch on a Friday afternoon. The building is enormous. Off to the left is a large bar area, and off to the right is a dining area. As we walked into the dining area you see markers on the wall serving as a reminder as to how high the water rose during the floods of 1993 and 2008. Chilling. We were lucky enough to snag a window table with a cool view of the river and bridge. I had a pork tenderloin sandwich. It was good. Service was friendly.

Decided to try this place last night and it will be the last of that. My salad plate had either black dirt or black mold on it, they brought another plate but made sure to wipe it off before it arrived (I could see the staff doing it from our table). I ordered the prime rib and baked potatoe, prime was not fresh it was definitely a reheat but it was very good. Baked potatoe was served luke warm it wouldn't melt the butter. My girlfriend order a chicken salad that she would later throw up. It looked good on the top but there was some of the worst looking salad piece and some just flat out gross pieces of chicken. Finally we would usually order a dessert however our waitress just brought the check, then stated if we wanted dessert she could add it. Place could use a vacuum and some other cleaning, or njust another flood to come through so they have to clean. Simple things all the lights in the place are different colors. Appears to be a business ready to fail.

Gorgeous place, reasonably priced drinks. Wait staff and food leave a little to be desired. Tried a burger and mashed potatoes. Nothing I couldn't make at home.

Amazing old building right on the river. Affordable, great service and great food. I definitely recommend it.

Quick stop in while visiting town. Needed to grab some chow and wanted to stay away from the chains. Neat looking place. The Mississippi is only about 30 yards away from their front door. Built inside what looked to be an old train station. Has outdoor seating. We sat in the bar area. They had a few TVs on the wall. Only four beers on tap, kind of disappointing. It was 4:00 on a Saturday and we were the only ones on the bar side. I ordered a blue cheese burger with bacon (I can't remember the menu name). It was decent. Burger had good flavor and the blue cheese crumbles and dressing made it stand out. It was served with steak fries. Like I said, it was decent. Good at the time but nothing to brag about. My wife ordered the $5.00 wing special and got 10 relatively small wings soaked in BBQ sauce. Good enough for her but as a wing aficionado had I been served those wings I would have been disappointed. Service was particularly slow. The bartender was our server at our high top. The place was pretty dead and there was only one person sitting at the bar yet she rarely stopped by. Also, if your website and menu are going to say you have happy hour seven days a week you might want to honor it. I asked about their happy hour specials and the girl said that happy hour didn't run on Saturdays and Sundays. Overall, it was just OK. I'm sure it's a nice place for Burlington, and compared to it's contemporaries it probably is pretty good. But coming from a larger metro area it just didn't wow me at all.

The best happy hour I have ever seen! They practically had a buffet with sauteed mushrooms, pulled pork for sandwiches, and mac'n' cheese. Didn't even need dinner, how can they be making money on this place?

The best place to eat on the river. Frog Legs, Steaks, Shrimp and so much more a great menu and drinks, outdoor seating and the riverboat docks here. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
