We're in town for a train event and decided since we had our two young boys, we'd try it. Overall we were very happy. Food is decent, was served quickly and with a smile. Our waitress was attentive and a pleasure to have. My only complaint was the wood on the edge of the table was tacky as in sticky. This is pretty common, but annoys me. Overall, it was good and we'd go back if we were in town.

Visitor based on strong reviews and was very disappointed. The past was runny, the western sandwich was unpleasant and the service was slow. Wasn't an awful experience but we certainly won't be back.

Amazing grilled cheese sandwichs, margaritas, salads, and artichoke spinach dip with pita bread. Best place to eat in Boone County.

My best friend has been a server here for years. We decided to grab lunch there and I was so impressed! Our server Nancy was super polite, attentive, sweet and fun! We started out with the "Combo Platter" (they let you pick any three appetizers, who does that? AWESOME!). We got the Breaded Pickles, White Cheddar Nuggets and the Spinach Dip that comes with toasted pita wedges. AMAZEFEST!!!!! The fried pickles were sour and perfect dipped in ranch. The cheese nuggets were fresh and lightly fried. The spinach artichoke dip was Heaven; bubbly, cream cheesy, melty goodness. This could have been my meal, it was so much food!!! I ordered the Monte Cristo Wrap - turkey, ham and cheese in a tortilla that is deep-fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar, served with "Raspberry Cream Sauce". It came with a side, so I ordered a cup of Beef Stew. The beef stew was homemade; we're talking skins still on the potatoes. Just like Mom makes, it was comforting and good. The wrap is interesting and definitely unique - it's savory meets sweet (think turkey and cranberry sauce), when dipped in the raspberry sauce. Nancy told me that some people eat the raspberry sauce like dessert - it did taste like a whip or yogurt. Yummy! At the end of the meal, our server Nancy wrote all our names on the receipt with a thank you. She freakin' remembered our names from a brief initial introduction. NANCY IS THE BOMB, ALL SERVERS SHOULD BE LIKE HER!!!!! She made us feel so welcome, appreciated and totally personalized the experience. Ridiculously cool. The overall vibe is very "BAR-ish" - they have a fancy and fully-stocked bar front and center, but I was happy at how kid-friendly and welcoming they are. My 6 year-old was with us, and they immediately gave him a basket of crayons and a kids' menu. He loved the appetizers, and ordered a kids' fettucine alfredo. At the end of his meal, he got a lil' cup of ice cream - how cute for children! They even had a paper bag with a toy soldier, sticker and eraser for them to keep. WOW. How nice!!! We stopped at the rubber ball pinball machine, and for a quarter, you get to play a game of pinball and keep the rubber ball that drops at the end. My son had a great time! A few customers passed our table and smiled at us or said something to my boy - gotta love Boone locals, friendly Mofos. Dining here was a pleasure and a touching experience. Please check this place out, and I will be back soon!

We had a very pleasant food experience here on mid-afternoon during the Iowa/Iowa State game. They had some business, mostly in the bar for the game. We did stand and wait to be seated for what seemed like a while. Once we were seated, it took a bit of time for our server to come. I think they were all watching the game. Their menu had some unique items which intigued me. We saw their fries come out to another table and they looked so good. I opted for the Italian Chicken Sandwich and my husband had the Bourbon Chicken Sandwich. Both of us ordered fries. My sandwich was yummy! A little messy but so good. The fries were great! We think they were beer battered. So yummy! My husband enjoyed his meal too. When the server brought the check, he dropped it off saying, "here's the damage." Really, who says that!? Service: 2 stars Food: 4 stars Would come back when in Boone.

Service was excellent! A lot to choose from on the menu and the food was good! If we are ever back in the area I'm sure we will be back!

I visited this place after reading the strong reviews online. Make sure to try the white cheddar nuggets. They were the high-point of our visit. It's a great mom & pop shop comparable to an Applebee's or Chili's. A suitable place to stop if you are traveling along Highway 30 or hungry after a big hike at Ledges State Park. Eat local.
