Tried to use 2 separate coupons for 2 meals ( 2 patrons in the car for drive thru) but we were refused one. Not sure why a business would limit sales( drove to McD for a burger). Second patron got out and went inside to order blizzards ( buy 1 get one .99 cents). While waiting for items, wait staff loudly complaining about other wait staff ( not there). Poor business practices and negative experiences will keep this patron from coming back.

Normally, when it comes to ice cream, I'm over the moon happy because I have in my hands one of my favorite sweet treats. Unfortunately, this was not one of those experiences. When we arrived, there were two people in line ahead of us. The staff behind the counter seemed quite flustered for there only being a total of five people waiting at the register. The cashier who took our order was friendly. The restaurant was reasonably clean. There was one car waiting in the drive-thru. We ordered a total of four blizzards to go. It took so long to get our order that I actually lost track of time. It was definitely longer than twenty minutes, though, as I had time to drink three glasses of ice water while waiting....and it had been so long of a wait that the poor girl who had taken our order couldn't remember what we looked like or what our order number was to deliver our order to us. We did finally get our ice cream treats and they were well frozen as promised. They could have done with a bit more mixing since all of the syrup and toppings were stuck in the top quarter of each cup. If there were another Dairy Queen in Ankeny, I would try there, but sadly, this is the only one. Either way, it was ice cream, and even ice cream with poorly mixed in bits of caramel is still delicious. In the end, I still enjoyed it!

Much better experience inside than in the drive thru. Ordered a blizzard. Cashier was friendly but I still slow!! It took forever just to get a blizzard and nothing else. The staff in the back was gossiping. I think it's a training issue here. Dining area was fairly clean. Could also use some TLC. Again staff training and management. Bet overall much better experience than the first. I hope it keeps getting better because this is the only Dairy Queen nearby.

Haven't had an ice cream from DQ in years, but took a couple of young family members recently who were super excited to go. The ice cream was very good--just had a cone and the two whipper snappers had small sundaes, one of which was hot fudge which seemed to have a scant amount of the fudge on it, but she liked it. What I didn't like about the physical set up of this store is that you must by stumble across the drive-through to get in the front door, which at the noon hour seemed to have a relentless line of cars. This is concerning when little kids are with you.

I went through the drive-thru when they just opened for the day and had no issues at all. I was very curious to see what caused all the negative reviews for this place. I don't usually get DQ non-ice cream food, but decided to try it out after seeing all the appetizing commercials. The food was all very good, the chicken tenders were fresh because I was the first customer. I would definitely return here!

Went to this dairy queen and service was very slow!!! Placed my order at 11:19am and received my order at 11:32am. Manager in charge on front had employees arguing in the back about somthing! Food was not all that great either tried one of their new snack melts and the second half was pretty much empty! The fries we very brown and hard and the reason for this is bad cooking oil. If you are in a hurry I wouldn't suggest this dairy queen

This was the GROSSEST experience I've ever had at a Dairy Queen, or really, any fast food restaurant. We have always gone through the drive through (which is incredibly slow), but we were on a tight schedule, so I ran in with the kids in hopes that it would be faster. Had I known what it was like inside this place, I would have NEVER allowed my kids to eat their food. Every surface in the restaurant was covered with FILTH. The dining room had spilled food, drinks, and a completely melted, half-eaten ice cream cone on the floor. There were crumbs on every table, trash was overflowing, and, despite all that, there were four DQ employees just sitting and chatting at a booth as though they had no knowledge or recognition of the disgusting condition of the dining room. If that wasn't bad enough, the dozen or so other employees behind the counter seemed just as oblivious to the filth they were working in as well. Every visible surface behind the counter was covered in spilled food, ice cream, and toppings. Melted ice cream that dripped from the ice cream dispensers freely flowed down the front of the machine and pooled on the floor. Even the counter where you ordered was covered in crumbs and ice cream (some ice cream had been there long enough that it was visibly dried on). It was about 95 degrees the day we were there, and the ac in the store seemed to be barely working. So, on top of the disgusting condition of the restaurants, the employees were all sweating. I saw one extremely sweaty employee wipe his sweat with his bare hands and then wipe it on his shirt. . . twice in the short time I was in the store. This wasn't a case of the restaurant being swamped and the staff not being able to keep up with the mess. Numerous staff members behind the counter were just chatting, while others sat in the dining room on break; the manager was clearly having a personal conversation with another staff member loud enough for anyone to hear. Meanwhile, we weren't the only family to turn around and leave, disgusted at the condition of this place. I have no idea how they could ever pass a health inspection. We will never be back. Sadly, I see someone posted an almost identical review a year ago with a comment that she was contacting corporate. Unfortunately, it appears that if any changes were made back then, they didn't last long.

It always takes so long to get any food here despite 50 people behind the counter. It took 15 minutes to get two hotdogs

The inside of this restaurant is filthy! We've always done drive thru, tonight we decided to go inside..big mistake. I can never eat here again. There wasn't a single table that was clean. There were crumbs on all the seats, spilled drinks, ice cream, french fries, straws on the floors and table tops. There were 4 or 5 employees behind the counter chatting away, having no regard for the disgusting conditions in the restaurant. I'll never eat here again. I took a lot of pictures and contacted Dairy Queen.com . Disgusting!

This place was a disaster during my visit. Plenty of ppl on staff chatting. When I arrived I was the only person in the dine in area. Drive through was busy but still no excuse for a messy restaurant. I found 1 of I believe 2 clean tables. Stick to the drive thru!
