This is the nearest Chicfila to Ames, so all the Iowa state chicken lovers swarm here. My friends and I used to make a run here almost weekly. You can't go wrong with anything on the menu, but the classic chicken sandwich is a staple, as well as the chicken nuggets. Meat is flavorful, well breaded, and well seasoned. It's always consistent, and we've never had any bad entrees. I've actually been getting the grilled options of recent, and I also believe they are just as wonderful. Of course they're healthier, but they still have great flavor, are seasoned well, and they are tender. Chicfila always prides itself on good service and this restaurant is no exception. We always receive great service which is always encouraging. I didn't mention anything about the waffle fries and shakes, but they're both great as well!

First experience at a Chick-fil-a and it is a great one!! Service is great! Super friendly!! Also super fast. No sooner had we ordered and gotten our drinks that our name was called and we were handed out meal! Wow efficient service!!! Dining area was nice and very clean! And Very busy!! Chicken nuggets were moist, tender, and delicious!! I kind of wish I had gone with the 12 piece considering they are not very large. The house dipping sauce, a mix of ranch, ketchup, and BBQ I think is really good!! I loved it!!! And they really have good waffle fries!! Overall super good impression of Chick-fil-a!!! And we will definitely be back!!!

I have been coming to this Chick-Fil-A location since it opened. Like any brand new store it's had ups & downs. The best thing is, due to its owner & management team there have been more ups! It's great to see this location grow! Like with any Chick-Fil-A I've been to I'm always warmly greeted & when you hear "My Pleasure", you know it's heartfelt! That's rare nowadays.... Thankfully not at Chick-Fil-A! Always great food!!! If there are any "problems", they are quickly handled and taken care of. Thank You Ankeny Chick-Fil-A for great food & great service!!!

This is the first brick and mortar establishment of Chik-Fil-A I have ever been to, before it's always a small place at the mall, campus, or airport. This place just opened and it is busy and super popular! The drive thru takes a while every time I go through because there are so many people during lunch hours. I have yet to go inside the actual store. The food is wonderful! Amazing flavors and juicy chicken! The fries were excellent as well! The staff members I've made contact with were extremely friendly, great training by management there! I will continue to eat here at Ankeny's hottest new fast food spot!

What can be said here? It's Chick Fil A! The customer service at the Ankeny location is excellent, the food is consistent with the amazingness I expect from this restaurant, and a few of my students work here! Just incredible.

Been enjoying Chick-fil-A food for a bit now and today we decided to try breakfast there. Again not disappointed. A bit weird having chicken for breakfast but the Chicken egg and cheese bagel was very good and filling. I also tried the breakfast burrito with sausage and that was very good as well. I do not recommend having the jalapeño salsa with it because in my opinion it masks the flavor of the rest of the burrito. I would say if you are looking for a bite to eat in the morning and do not want a big sit down breakfast try Chick-fil-A. You will be pleasantly surprised. But do not try Sunday, they are closed. Ta ta for now!!

Came through here a second time since I was in the area. They got my order correct this time, which means I'll bump this up to a three, but they are still very stingy with their fries. There's no use in ordering a large when you're getting the same amount of fries as you'd get with a medium. They also still appear to be having issue with the double drive through, I pulled up and was asked to place my order, only to immediately be "put on hold". Makes me wish there was a closer Chick-Fil-A then this and the Jordan Creek area, because I truly love the nuggets and the fact they close on Sundays, but this particular store is truly on the lower echelon in the company.

First time trying a Chik-FIL-A restaurant. Now I know why most people rave about their chicken! The sandwiches we tried were all delicious--and the chicken was wonderfully moist still! The waffle fries were very tasty as well. We chose to eat inside the dining room and, I must say, we were attended to by some very friendly staff. Although they do not have table service, we were checked on by two different staff who were doing jobs in the dining room asking if we had everything we needed or if they could bring us anything additional (they even took our sodas to be refilled)! By far, this was the nicest staff I have ever had the pleasure of meeting in a fast food restaurant! Well done Chik-FIL-A!!!

This was my husband and I's first time eating at Chick-fil-a restaurant. The food was good; especially for what I was expecting with fast food chicken. I even loved the waffle fries! The building was well kept and clean. And when the associate we ordered from (I think it was the shift manager.) found out it was out first visit, he was incredibly helpful in guiding our choices. My husband is a fan of the Chick-fil-a sauce now!

I went to this location for the first time tonight and used the drive through. They have two lanes and both had a green light above them. I pulled into the second one since someone was already ordering in the first. When they got done with their order, another car pulled up behind them and got helped. Then another. And I still haven't even been talked to. At this point it's obvious I'm not getting helped here and there's another person behind me now. So I have to wave them back so they can back up and we can both get in the first lane. I tell the kid at the window what happened and he's concerned and asks the manager and about 5 other people around him "who's on lane two?" and is promptly ignored by all of them. Like any 16 year old with no support, he doesn't know what to do and just hands me the bag. Pretty disappointing visit. It seems that the team is pretty well broken. The manager just kept chatting behind their employee in need and didn't acknowledge my concern at all. They could take some notes from the Gary Brumels who operates the Mills Civic location. Somehow they've managed to stay together and perform at the top while they were in the mall and after they moved to the stand alone store. Chick Fil A has potential but the way it's run makes all the difference. When Gary's team moved to the new store, the mall location became a trainwreck. The same goes for this new Ankeny location. People will still eat there, but it's just going to be another fast food joint if some changes aren't made.

By far my favorite fast food restaurant. Good food and friendly service. Plus, who can argue with the milkshakes?!!
