First time in and I thought it was great! And we will totally be back. My kids loved the buttered noodles, I loved my dish and how fast it all came out. There was a manager type checking on everyone in the restaurant and he was super friendly. The place was so clean and everyone was super friendly! 5 BIG STARS

I've tried Noodles & Co. several times since they first opened this past fall. It has improved a lot since the first couple of visits I made. Here's how it works, you pick a bowl size then one of their signature noodle mixes. Can can also add a protein of tofu, shrimp, chicken or beef for an up-charge. The trios here are a pretty good value, and include a soup or salad and a small bowl with a protein for around $8. You can also choose from several sandwiches. You place your order, then endure a brief wait for your meal to arrive as they prepare it to order. The Thai Curry soup has been the best offering I have sampled here. You can traverse the globe via noodle here. Thai, Indonesian, Japanese, Italian and American classics. The problem here is that none of them really stand out. They're decent for a lunch visit, but pale in comparison with the abundant offerings from Japanese, Thai, and Italian specific restaurants already in Ames. You will find superior Udon and Pad Thai elsewhere in town. I'm not going to seek out Noodles & Co. when I get a craving for good Pad Thai or Yakisoba. The Mac N' Cheese here is on par with something I recall being served from an ice-cream scoop in my youth. The power with Noodles & Co. is that it appeals to a wide number of palettes. It is a wise choice for lunches when you have people in your party with exotic tastes with those who are less adventuresome. This is an easy go-to for picky eaters when choosing a place to eat as it's almost assured that everyone in your party would find something appealing.

Great options available on their gluten free menu. The staff was over attentive to my dietary needs. Great service and food. This place will always be in my dining list.

If Yelp gave half-stars, I would rate this as 3.5. It's a nice enough place and worth a visit, but nothing really memorable. My wife and I are always looking for decent Sunday-brunch places and we dropped in here last Sunday. We had been here once before. You can select a bowl size (regular or large) and your choice of pasta or noodles, and also add meat (chicken, pork, steak, shrimp, etc.) or tofu if you like. Or you can order sandwiches. There are also salads on the menu. On our first visit, I had the spaghetti and meatballs: both the regular order ($6.79) and the large ($7.99) come with five meatballs, I am told; the quantity of spaghetti accounts for the difference. As I recall (it's been awhile since that first visit) I found the regular order quite adequate in size, and it tasted pretty good as well. On our second visit, I experimented with a new item that had not been on the menu the first time around: the BBQ pork sandwich. Although the menu pictured the sandwich with coleslaw on the side, the coleslaw came on the sandwich itself; there was no side dish, but a small bowl of BBQ sauce did accompany the sandwich. Again, pretty good, but I don't imagine that Hickory Park is sitting up nights worrying about the competition on BBQ products. The sandwich was enough for a single meal, but I didn't have anything left to take home. On this trip, my wife had some kind of noodles with alfredo sauce and chicken; I think this is a temporary special and may not be available for much longer. She liked it, but again did not rave about it. One interesting feature of the restaurant is their high-tech pop machine. You press various buttons on a screen to access all the various options. Press the "diet coke" button, for example, and the screen shows buttons for ordinary diet coke, coke zero, vanilla diet coke, lemon diet coke, orange diet coke, and about six others. Since refills are free it's a good opportunity to try things that you can't find in the supermarket (although after tasting the orange diet coke, I see WHY it's not available there; I'll mostly stick with diet vanilla, which is rarely available in other restaurants). Curiously, though, neither my wife nor I could find regular decaf coke available among the hundred or so flavors you could access, although you could get diet decaf. Summary: worth a visit, and if I lived nearby I'd probably stop in a couple of times a month, but since we live across town we'll probably only come by every five or six weeks when we run out of other options for our weekly Sunday brunch.

The food is alright but the portion sizes are too small for such a high price. Come on, it's just noodles.

Pretty good restaurant. I wouldn't call it the most amazing food ever, but it definitely tastes very "comfort food"-y, and it's yummy. It's definitely worth the price that they charge. Noodles & Company ends up being something like a "half-way" point between a sit-down restaurant like Hickory Park, Applebees, or Texas Roadhouse and fast food joints like McDonalds, Burger King, etc. You go in, and you can order your noodles and food. Others have covered the choices and system, so I won't go into that. The prices are pretty reasonable - especially if you don't get any additions. Way cheaper than a sit-down restaurant and about on-par with fast food. Calories for the noodles range from 500-ish to 1,100-ish per dish. You can see the full menu and calorie information on their official website. You then can order "to go" or to eat inside. If you order to-go, you wait around until your noodles are cooked and then grab and go. If you order in, you take a table number, pick a table, and sit down. When your food is done, they'll bring it to you. The average wait I've had is less than 10 minutes - usually around 5-ish. Much faster than sit-down places. The food itself is yummy. I love their Wisconsin Mac & Cheese - I love it a lot. I get the half-order (500-ish calories), but when I did get the full order, it was easily more food than I could normally eat. Their portion sizes are huge, but if you are concerned about finishing, just order their smaller versions and you'll be fine. I like that I feel like I got a good value from it. Plus, it's yummy. It definitely beats any boxed stuff, and honestly, I think it's better than the home-made stuff I make too. It's yummy stuff! So while I wouldn't come here constantly because I'm not a huge fan of sit-down places, when I want something that's faster than a sit-down restaurant but still feels fancy and serves yummy food, Noodles & Company is pretty much perfect. Yum!

For whatever reason, this location has proved to be the best Noodles and Co. that I've been to. I have never had any issues whatsoever- seriously. People have always been nice, there's never been a screwup with an order, never had to wait super long - no complaints. This place doesn't earn five stars because of the franchise itself. The menu could be better, quality needs a boost, and food should be healthier. Still, there are much worse places to go for a meal.

Noodles was one of our go to places while we lived in Ames. We got on a bit of a health kick and started getting their salads. Their med salad, no dressing, with chicken was the bomb. Flavorful, but very little fat and light on the calories. They recently got a neat soda fountain that let's you add all sorts of flavors to your soda; it's supposed to have over 200 different combinations. Their flavored (unsweatened) iced teas are pretty good too. I wish their wisconsin Mac and Cheese was a health food rather than a comfort food! :(

Ive been there a couple times this last month. Both times I noticed the food wasnt piping hot, but just warm. I asked for my chicken noodle soup to be heated up more and they did and brought it out hot again. The spaghetti and meatballs is decent but dont have too high of expectations. Its not a 5star italian restaurant in Little Italy or something. My favorite is the Penne Rosa. It is pasta with a spicy creamy sauce with nice vegetables sauteed together. I gave Noodles&Co 3 stars because both times I wanted the food to be hotter.

I'm from Texas where we have noodle houses are at each street corner. This place is so good! The service was fast & friendly. They just need to give discounts to Iowa State students.

I am surprised by all the glowing reviews. I found the food middle of the road at best. I ordered online and picked up my food. It was ready fast and the staff was very friendly. The food... If I judged only on what I ordered this would be a two star review. This is typical fast food style food. The pot stickers were soggy and literally flat. Like three little pancakes. The side salad was okay, at least it was fresh. The Mac and cheese was more noodle than anything else and was bland and deeply disappointing. The highlight was the garlic bread I got on a whim, it was the most flavorful and memorable. Yes a side of bread was the best part of my meal, that is how poor everything else was. For fast food, this isn't bad. But this is by no means a four and five star experience. If you're in a rush, stop in. Otherwise avoid it.

I was very pleased with how what seemed to be the management of this specific establishment handled my service animal. They were very professional and even offered a doggie bowl for her! I even forgot to order grilled chicken in my Mac & Cheese and was more than willing to pay the extra charge but the management insisted it was on them! Great place,Great people!

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
