Great disappointment in the restaurant. As food goes, it was pitiful. Breakfast entree was so laden with grease & "old" grease, that the food was not edible. I was hungry, but I had to push it away & not eat it. Needless to say, that will be my first & last time to eat there. The wait staff were pleasant & attentive, but they have no power over the fool who does the cooking. We won't be eating there ever again. Restrooms were pretty clean, out of several days there. Parking lot & fuel islands were reasonably clean as well.

Large quantities of food & friendly service here. Better than a typical truck stop diner by far. Server came by often to check on needs etc. Thx Sandy! The interior is decorated in black n white checkers and red n white glitter sparkle seats like out of the 50's. Lots of cool black n white photos line the walls. Plenty of flat screen TVs line the walls to catch up on sports or news updates. They have a cheesy hashbrowns side that is killer!

Disgusting. Had to go grab my own menus. Food tasted heavily of grease. Waitress was extremely inattentive. Would never go back.

This place used to be OK for truck stop standards, but I feel like since Bosselman's merged in with Pilot and FlyingJ, those standards have taken a dive. Met a friend who I used to work with who now hauls cross-country. I ordered a burger and fries with "spicy" BBQ. Bun wasn't toasted completely and was a soggy mess. Fries were overcooked. Whoever prepped the food put the garnishes in the bottom and threw the fries on top which soaked the fries with pickle juice--not exactly a delectable combination. Waitress was friendly and the only highlight. Breakfast is very overpriced--biscuits and gravy are $9 for an order of two. The menu didn't indicate you get anything else with it. According to their website, this is a "one-of-a-kind" within the company, perhaps it is a "pilot" (no pun intended) program for the chain. My advise would be to drop it and return to the menu previously used (no BBQ, etc.). If you're hauling long distance, you may be better off using Exit 201 (Hwy 21) and eating at the Kwik Star plaza.

Very much a truck stop but good food, close to hotels and highway. Staff was very friendly, food delicious, with large portion sizes.

We ordered a shepards pie....what we got was a mess on a plate. Shepards pie is a good , basic Irish pub dish . Simple , rustic, filling. What we got was taco meat they make the taco salad with , brown gravy that goes over the roast beef , chewy corn , two scoops of mashed potatoes. This is not shepards pie. We also got fried pickle chips with a spicy sort of dip. A cup of coffee that was just a shade better than swill. Two waters. All of this delightful gastric torture came to just under $46.00. It used to be ok , three or so years ago. The service was ...ok....free peep show of ridiculously huge breasts and cleavage . The staff do look and act a bit rough. It is a truck stop...but they cater to vacationing families. Carnies come to mind. Do your self and your family a favor and go somewhere else to eat. Gross.

Better than expected. Nice waitress. Breakfast okay and luckily we split the omelet and skipped most of the hash browns and still had plenty of breakfast.

This place has major problems!!! When it was a Grandma Max's it was fair. But they remolded it ,into a dinner. Max's Highway Diner .It became one of the sorryest places I ever been! Staff indifferent ,rude. Not wanting to wait,or bus tables. Waited for 5 minutes for waitress, even one was standing ,and talking to us.Before one would take our order. Just like the old Flying J 's.... Tried to talk to the GM. but she acts like ,she was trained in the old Flying J way. Acting ,like we do not need your BUSINESS...So if you,are in the area, remember that their 3 others across the street. Burger King, MacDonalds, and Culvers..That WANTS ,YOUR BUSINESS............... Looked like they had 7 waitress on duty ,with only 3 working .Takeing orders..Doubt,I'll be eating here for a while.. This place is in the Pilot-Flying J building,on the east side.....They should put a SUBWAY in here!!!!!!!!!!!! By the way, place looked dirty, aught to open the blinds...About the food; Had Biscuits & Gravy.,coffee ,large milk.3 eggs sunnyside up.$16.11 Eggs ok,gravy bland, and the biscuits,if painted black .Would be Hockey Pucks! Yes that hard......

I would rather eat prison food then eat Here again. Service was fine, atmosphere is fair, the food is awful.

went for breakfast at 10:30 a.m. the hash browns tasted like onions. the sausage links & hashbrowns looked and tasted like they had been heated in the microwave. the 3 eggs I ordered over easy came to me with not even the whites cooked. the food was barely warm. won't be back there!

Tried their breakfast buffet a couple of Sundays ago. Service was terrible, and the food was terrible.

This diner is among the worst. Bad food, bad service and very overpriced. I can handle bad food, but a $2 cup of coffee that tastes like brown dishwater is too much. Don't be fooled by the 50's throwback decor. Avoid like the plague.
