Solid fish tacos. The suizas are good too, but only the chicken version, got them vegetarian with just cheese and they were crazy salty. Still trying to find that stand out Mexican spot on Maui..

Their horchata is so delicious (plenty of cinnamon) and I've always loved their fish taco salads. The ladies that work there are the kindest and most helpful. It's worth dropping by when driving through Wailuku. Parking is kind of limited but absolutely worth it. Best Mexican food on the entire island. Promise.

Loved this place!!! We were on our way out from a week vacation in Maui, and were craving Mexican food. We stumbled onto this whole in the wall. The service was great, very kind and friendly. The food was amazing. The beans and rice alone sent my back to my grandmas house in Mexico. Their Mexican food is authentic. I have been to many Mexican restaurants calming to be authentic this is the first to a meet all my expectations and then some.

More of a 3.5. A humble little family owned Mexican restaurant located in the quieter part of Wailuku. The building was so small, I almost drove right past it. Their menu wasn't too complicated. Good variety of choices. I ordered a shredded beef wet burrito with rice & beans. They forgot to make my burrito wet, but that's okay. The portion and taste was decent. The price was Maui reasonable. Joanna's (daughter/cashier) hospitality made the experience excellente. Very welcoming and friendly. Her mother & cook, Edith, seemed lovely as well. It may not have been the best Mexican food I have eaten. However, there was something about their heart and passion that made their food more enjoyable. In the end, I love supporting local restaurants. I'll be back to try their chicken enchilada, I hear it's their most popular.

I finally went to Fiesta time! My husband had been there before and told me it was pretty good Mexican food for Maui, well he was right. The owner is really nice and she even helped me out with some places to go and get some Mexican items. I had a burrito when I was there and it was PRETTY YUMMY!!! Now the only issue is that its not a very big place so if you plan on going with a lot of people there won't be much room to sit. the only have seating for about 6 people. Also the parking lot is horrible, its small and shared with other business and on a corner so its kinda in a bad spot but whatever I went there for the food and it did not disappoint :) If it was only closer to home...

Been here a few times. Probably one of the better Mexican spots. Service was fine. Food didn't take too long.

Average prices for take away food. But the food is just not good. Not even close to being authentic-for-Americans Mexican food. Bland. Soupy beans. Just bland bland bland. Not nasty stuff, but I wouldn't eat here again.

This place is a favorite!!! The best home made salsa and chips and the rush burrittos are huge and fantastic! Too bad they dont expand their hours to accomodate the late diners! Everything ive tried, from the tacos to the dessert, is fantastico!

The food is ok, Im from the Desert SouthWest lived 3hrs from Mexico all my life so I KNOW what authentic Mexican food is. Carne Asada is no good. Tortillas dont taste homemade, more like from Safeway. Spanish rice is terrible. Insanely Expensive, One bean burrito and quesadilla cost me $18. That is an unreal price for Mexican food. Good luck finding a place to park, parking lot has 4 slots.

The first thing I ever ate at Fiesta Time was the chicken enchiladas and they were so good, I never ordered anything else since. Two enchiladas, dripping with cheese and sauce, with beans, rice, and more melted cheese. Mmm, good! EDIT: Moved back to Maui a couple of months ago (August 2009) and finally made it over to FT for lunch. Got one pastor taco and the chicken enchilada combo plate. The pastor taco was okay, as the pork could've been a little more moist. The chicken enchilada plate tasted just as delicious as many years ago, although I tried my wife's beef enchilada and that tasted even better! At least with moving back, we can go there more often to try the other plates.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
