I agree with all the other posts. Mrs. Narusawa is great !!! They are open from 5am till they sell out, M-F. Great "hole in the wall" place. I love the cone sushi, and bentos. You can also get made to order items from the daily specials.

Another place I wanted to try when passing through Wahiawa. Must be like a part time business as by 11:00am or earlier, they are closed for the day. So one early morning as I drove by, I saw the open sign so I stopped by and tried one of their premade bentos, priced reasonable but not tasty. Sorry but I will not wake up early to stop by again.

Went to Naru's Place for the first time today. Food was just okay...the fried noodles were a little hard and the hash was a little burnt. Convenient if you want to get okazu early in the morning in Wahiawa. The staff was extremely friendly and service was prompt.

5 stars alone for Mrs. Narusawa, who is probably the SWEETEST business owner in the world. The food is your standard old-fashioned okazuya fare, and it is very good. When I was in elementary school, my mom would wake up early to drive here and back to Mililani for my field trip lunches. Such a spoiled brat - no Sun's BBQ for me. Just Naru's fried noodles, egg, and hot dog. Yum!!!

One hundred thirty years old and counting. Not many people know what i'm about to tell you, so I consider you very lucky and privileged. Ihz, are you up to your hyperbole ways again? Tell me you're not going to waste my time. Relax my friend but strap on some steel toes because this is going to be heavy. As you've already noticed above, the numbers are out... No, one hundred thirty years old is not how long Naru's Place has been in business but how old Mrs. Naru is and how long she's been working hard at life. She's only the oldest person living on earth with Ron Paul a close second. youtube.com/watch?v=3T6w… I always raise my glass when I drink my O'Doul's. But not just for Mrs. Naru but for everyone who works hard serving this country. It doesn't matter what job you have whether you're a stay-at-home parent, military, 9 to 5, etc as long as you possess the quality. As they say in Hawaii-- riches gets you lei'd, working hard gets you laid. When I need an old-fashion touch I go to Naru's Place. We all need that from time to time. But it's not an Opihi Pickers kind of touch but one of an old-style homemade food just like your grandmother or grandfather would make it kind of touch. Particularly, the bentos and cone sushis. Bento yelp.com/biz_photos/Tae3… Cone Sushi yelp.com/biz_photos/Tae3… TIPS: - There's a small parking lot on the north shore side of Wahiawa Zippy's were you can park if there's no parking on Kamehameha Highway. - It's a short walk since Naru's Place is located almost next door on the Mililani side of Zippy's next to Da Pokeman. - If you're a loyal customer, they usually give a little extra food. - They close midmornings. youtube.com/watch?v=rXew…

Got up early enough to get there at 9:30 a.m. I got two plates, one is the eggs/bacon/fried rice. The other is pork tofu plate. It is fabulous and they had homemade takuwan and pickled jalaepnos which are broke da mouth good. The fried rice place is HUGE with four fat slices of thick bacon and it is 2 large eggs over EZ. Fabulous. The pork tofu has CHUNKS of tofu and pork, I saw Mr. open up a Honda tofu container and it was fresh made. None of that precooked steam table dried out sheet. The sauce of the pork tofu is a little too sweet for me but it is ono still. I was talking with the Mrs. who is the nicest as all get out and Mr. does all the cooking. I was having a hard time hearing her but I think she said they only open 2-3 a week. Yet they have a steady clientele coming through the doors. She said they are open from 5:30 am to 10:30 am or until they are sold out. When I was the only one there I was hanging out with Mrs. and it was like being my auntie's house talking story while everyone cooking. Really. And the food, local style homemade stuff. Yes it takes a while, this is not fast food, this is home made food. The fried rice of which I am a freak about, is deliciously oily and tasty. Yes oily. If you only eat healthy, grease free food go to Whole Foods. For local kine grindz this is da best of the best. Everything is made to order, made one at a time and filled with their love of food. Prices are reasonable, $6.50 for most - 2 scoops rice, one big scoop mac salad and the great tsukemono sides. It seems they know everyone and everyone knows them. God Bless people like this - they are a disappearing breed - a true mom and pop operation. I really felt like I was with family in their home. Their kitchen is immaculate and their is Keiko the cutest okazuya mascot. Live Long and Healthy. I will definitely be back!
