* Price: on the high end for the area but is well worthy! Approximately $250 per night (including tax, fee, breakfast, wifi, etc.); 4star * Ambiance: zen, relaxing. 5 star. * Location: convenient, easy to find. Close to the park, volcano village (less than 10 minute drive). 5 star. * Motif: beautiful decor cottage with private entrance, on suite bathroom and tub. 5 star * Service: Mr. Kim is very pleasant and helpful! 5 star. Found this place through tripadvisor and we are glad to stay here! It is beautiful decor with plenty of privacy... not like other B&B. Each cottage is separate from each other, on suite bathroom, seating area, small kitchenette, and dinning area. The decor is beautiful asian Zen motif. The place is very clean. Mr. Kim waited up for us since we got in quite late. Breakfast was brought to your room by him in the morning by 8 AM. It is including local freshly cut and arranged fruits, biscuits and quiche. It is beautiful and delicious! There is a hot tub for guests. Laundry room is on site next to the Hula moon cottage. It is a perfect place to relax and listen to sound of rain and nature! We definitely will recommend this place to friends and family. Will come back... A hui hou!

We loved this B&B and John, the innkeeper that was there while we stayed. The best part is the location and privacy of the grounds. We also loved that the breakfast was brought to our room so we could eat it on our private patio (Lotus Suite) - we wish all B&Bs brought breakfast to the room! Breakfast was simple but good - usually two pastry/bread items per person and a lot of fresh fruit. Probably one of the best B&Bs we've stayed at. We also appreciated the super fast wifi, which was unexpected for the location.

Back in 2011, my husband and I stayed here for 1 night during our vacation on the Big Island. It was a wonderful stay, the owners were very friendly and sweet. We had a large room all to ourselves, and there was breakfast served in the morning. :) This is in close proximity to the volcano, and easy to find as well. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this place to family and friends who wish to stay near the volcano in Hilo!

Great B&B right next to Volcano National Park. We stayed in the Aloha Moon cottage. The furnishings are beautiful. The bed is fantastic. Seven layers of bedding and a Tempur-pedic (sp??) bed made for a wonderful night sleep. There is a great deck with table/chairs for relaxing outside. The view is all tropical rain forest. Breakfast is bread/pastry and exotic fruit and great local coffee. Induck, the inn keeper, is very gracious. She is an excellent source for local activities. One note - We were here in January. The elevation is high and they actually have a winter of sorts. Nights and mornings were chilly. Take a jacket

This was a perfect place to stay in Volcano. You can easily get in and out of the park on a daily basis. Each room is private and nicely kept. You can relax and spend the whole day there if you really want to read in the rain forest. We hiked all the days we were there and it was great to get back and relax. We used the foot massager, fireplace and loved the patio. Beds are super comfortable. John was wonderful to us - it really was like staying at a friends house that doesn't get in your business. one of the best B&B experiences. I would recommend for anyone that stays in there to shop at the grocery store and eat at the table of your suite at the Lotus Garden. We were disappointed every place we ate in town - take advantage of all that is lovely at Lotus Gardens instead.

What an amazing experience! When my husband found out this B&B online, I didn't expect much. It is about 10 minute drive from the Volcano Park, and the area was very rural and quiet. From the moment I walked in, I felt home here surrounded by rainforest on the Big Island across the Pacific ocean from the Korean peninsula. It was decorated in a very traditional Korean way: the house itself, furniture, lightings, door frames, and etc. Our room (lotus suite) was perfectly clean and lovely (please see the photos). Listening to Mr. Kim's playing a Korean flute and raindrops , I felt like I am in a temple in deep mountains somewhere in Korea. Mrs. Kim brought breakfast in the morning in three trays. The breakfast was delicious: kao coffee was very good and fruits were juicy and ripe. We enjoyed our stay very much and definitely will stay here again. Thank you, Mr. & Mrs. Kim. We will be back!

We stayed two nights at this quaint and cozy B&B. We were in the Hula Moon cottage the first night and the Lotus room the second. Both were impeccably decorated, but if forced to pick, we'd rank the Lotus room a tad higher-- very cozy with its own private wraparound lanai. The bed in the Hula Moon cottage, however, is ultra heavenly. Guests also have access a hottub on the grounds and there is free wifi, for those of you who are addicts even while on vacation. Mrs. Kim is very friendly. She prepares a different continental breakfast every morning: it's beautifully presented and very filling, with items from all the food groups. :) I strongly recommend Lotus Garden Cottages if you plan on staying in Volcano or outside Hilo (half hour away). What a beautiful experience. The rain forest surrounding the cottages is incredible. John and his wife are so accomodating and gracious. Loved 'Hello Kitty' the resident cat. Beautiful breakfast brought up to our nice table and chairs out on the balcony. Fresh fruit, good coffee with a nice china cup and saucer. Nice touch. They really care and want you to have the Aloha experience. We will return on our trip next year. Mahalo!

5 stars. And they deserve more. I loved this place. Stands out as one of the best B&B's I've stayed at ever. The Kims are unimaginably thoughtful and sweet. They really put their lives into making their guests comfortable. And they catch details. The first night, D and I drank a bottle of wine, and left it out on the counter. The second night, we came home from our day on the volcano to find 2 clean wine glasses, and nuts set out to facilitate our own little happy hour. The cottage we chose (I think the Aloha?) was so well kept, luxurious feeling, romantic, hidden away in the rainforest, big comfortable bed, clean, and there was fresh breakfast both mornings - - and I mean full breakfast. Pot of coffee, baked goods, egg sandwich, 4-5 different kinds of fruit, thing of fresh juice. I wish we could have stayed here a few more nights, truly a home away from home.

What a find! Tucked away in Volcano Village, this 3 room bed and breakfast doesn't look like much from the street. Raised platforms lead to the two back rooms. We stayed at the Korean style room in the back. Very private, quiet, and cozy. Surrounded by rainforest and lanai. My girlfriend loved it. Eclectic Korean-style furnishings, great Tempur-pedic mattress. I liked the flat screen and HDTV cable. Gas fireplace kept us warm at night. The Korean innkeeper will bring you a light breakfast of fruits/yogurt and breads in the AM. If you are visiting Volcanoes National Park I highly recommend staying one night in the Village. Lots of B&B, some cheaper but I think that Lotus Garden Cottages is one of the best. Will definitely be back.

We stayed here during our visit to Volcano National Park. At first we considered driving in and out from the west side of the island in one day, but realized that there is too much to see on this side to cut our trip down to one day. Plus we wanted to see those lava flows at night. So we booked a room here and it proved to be so much more than just a place to lay your head. First, it is very tasteful and relaxing. We opened all the glass doors to hear the rain and drank some wine by the gas fireplace. The innkeepers are very hospitable without being intrusive. Also, the bed in our room was ungawdly comfortable. Super cozy and the perfect amount of firmness.
