Meh, i do enjoy Ninja Sushi over this place but i came last night for a Strawberry bubble drink, and it was horrible. For almost $5 you would think they would atleast grind the ice better so you dont have a huge shard cutting the back of your throat when you drink it but alas maybe its just that hard. Sister who made it, didnt do a good job draining the pearls from the syrup they keep it in so when you drink the bottom, its a weird inhale of syrup and bobba powder. Man i wish we had Thangs or Bambu out on this side.

They say the third time's a charm, right? Unfortunately Sushi Man Mililani struck out for me. I have been to this location at least five times within a year and had mostly bad experiences. Each time I went there were different workers. First bad experience: It took them 20 minutes to make a 3 pc nigiri. The people who ordered after us got their food before us. Mind you, those customers had a bigger order. Second bad experience: It took a while for us to get our order, yet again. My sister usually orders a tuna roll because she doesn't eat raw fish. She took a bite of her tuna roll and said it didn't taste like it usually does. She got sick soon after. Third bad experience: The wait wasn't as long. After I ordered, my sister was waiting to order. While she was waiting at the register, the worker was making a bubble drink and talking to her friend on the phone at the same time. She made eye contact with my sister a couple times and still didn't get off the phone to take her order. I got my order and my sister decided not to get anything anymore because she was already annoyed. If you're going to talk on the phone, at least be discreet about it or wait until there are no customers. Location: Mililani Shopping Center next to Snow Factory and Foodland Parking: Not terrible, but not the greatest. Cleanliness: I've dined in twice & didn't see any bugs or found anything in my food. Customer Service: They could do better. Food quality: It's okay. Then again, I didn't expect much. I will not be returning to this location because I gave them more than enough chances. I would rather make the drive to the Wahiawa location because their spicy ahi is spicier, which is how I like it. The bubble tea drinks at the shop in the Wahiawa Shopping Center is better than the drinks they make at Sushi Man Mililani.

It's disgusting. They use way too much rice and the imitation crab isn't mixed with the mayo. The mayo is globed on it. The maki rolls I got where sloppy and rushed. But they took forever too! For the amount of time it took to get my food I expected it to be perfect. Nope... Very unsatisfying. Ninja sushi in Mililani town is way better than this place and is worth the extra drive.

I love this place. I come here almost all the time on my lunch breaks. I always order the spicy ahi salad with rice at the bottom. It's always delicious and never seems to dissapoint me. The workers are also very friendly and have remembered my order lol. It is quite pricey, but worth every penny. Plus, they also have their own take on sushi.
(5)Olivia W.
Cheapest sushi in the area. I like the dinner B. Always call in your order so you don't have to wait since the place is small, if you're waiting it can get a little squishy if other people are in there as well.

Pros: BEST KIDS SUSHI PLATES hands down Lots of parking On the cheap side of the price range Good staff Cons: Not the highest quality sushi Limited seating Usually either dead or packed

I used to frequent Sushi Man 6 years ago and when I had to move back to the mainland I missed getting sushi like this place has. Now that I'm back I'm a happy camper again:). My favorites are the Phoenix maki, Tiger maki and Lava maki. My kids loved the kalua pork temaki.
(5)Riss R.
Friendly staff. Prices are high!! I ordered the Phoenix maki and the unagi maki. Both rolls, upon picking up with my chopsticks, just completely fell apart.......It was like eating, a poke bowl. Eh.
(2)Missy S.
Love this place! Plus I know someone who works here too. Just got their tiger roll today. Was delicious! Had crab, shrimp, cucumber, and spicy tuna with bbq sauce. Also like their spicy sashimi bowl and spicy tuna roll. Fresh fish, great sushi assortments. And decent prices. I would come here over ninja sushi or genki sushi any day!

Although I'm not too crazy about most of their items here (I'm a hardcore salmon and spicy tuna fan, and those served here aren't exactly my favorites), I'm gonna give this establishment 4 stars because of one roll in particular: the OISHII ROLL. And omg, it is pretty damn oishii. So oishii that it is in the top 5 of my husband's favorite foods--yes, a temaki that is only served here. The Oishii Roll has spicy tuna, teriyaki sauce, imitation crab, mayo, and lettuce all stuffed into one handroll. Yes, it sounds disgusting, yes, it looks kinda sloppy, but OMG, it is DELICIOUS.

It's sushi man so what can you expect? It's convenient, tasty, and affordable. Great to fill your sushi craving.

I'm going to be straight up. I Yelp because I want businesses that have great customer service and/or great products to succeed and I want businesses with poor customer service and/or poor products to go out of business. People who run businesses should always keep in mind that how they are perceived and word of mouth are crucial to their success. The sushi here is very mediocre, but there's really not too much variety in Mililani, so we ate here every once in awhile...but we won't eat here ever again. Last night, there was a cockroach in my daughter's tuna roll. Enough said.

They need to toast their nori. Its so chewy like rubber.
(2)Troy T.
Oahu is well diverse in sushi. That being said, for the price and quality, I don't recommend this place. It took pretty long to make, and I'll give them that they make it when you order it, and I'm sure the chief cares how the sushi is prepared. But the quality is not that impressive at all. It's like the same price you'll find at Ninja sushi, with less quality food. Even the rice didn't make up for the product. You might find the same taste at your local gas station quicky mart.

Awesome!!! i love this place. We eat there all the time and we don't even live near Mililani. LOL But we love this place, very affordable for hungry people and we always leave very full and satisfied. This is absolutely one of our favorite places to eat. Staff is friendly, price is good, service is fast, food is good, and restaurant is clean. Great place for sushi.
(5)Damian U.
The service is top notch. The girls that work there are super helpful and willing to go out of their way to please the customer. This is my favorite place to grab sushi and always a pleasure to dine in or pick up.
(5)Joy S.
Maybe because I live on the mainland so long and there's not a lot of affordable sushi that tastes good, but I have to admit I am a fan of this place. My brother-in-law brought some over one night and I was blown away. Not by the regular sushi, but by the ahi poke nigiri!!! One taste and I was hooked, went back a few more times as the island is loaded with them all over the place. Usually when I go back home I go to Kozo sushi since that is what I grew up with (tuna roll is the best), but now I feel like a traitor as I can't seem to get my mind off of the poke sushi.

So I'm from Texas and came to visit Hawaii in Vaca, so I've been to Japan and have found it difficult to find good raw sushi but This place surprised me! Very good, I got the sashimi rainbow bowl and good pricing
(4)Helen K.
Wanted to get something quick to eat & thought it would be really fast since there was only 1 person besides me & it was just about to close... Waited like 15 minutes which I thought was rather long & we both didn't have any large orders to go!
(2)Briana K.
Love the Tiger maki although the price is ridiculously expensive it's still bomb use to get it all the time but the price was just too expensive to get it regularly... The spicy ahi on top started to get smaller which sucked because for the price it should come packed... Still love this place
(4)Tiani B.
Prices are a little high. My last visit here is what Im basing this review on. The person who was working the register had a friend in the store with a child, not sure who the child belonged to, the friend or the worker but none the less the child was running behind the counter and being carried by the worker which I found odd but my food was not affected by it and hey, Im a mom too...didnt really bug me.
(3)Jayden L.
Sushi is pretty decent but the freshness and quality could be better. I ordered the spicy ahi bento it came with 1) Egg sushi 2) Ahi sushi 3) Ebi sushi 4) Cone sushi 5) California roll (3 pieces) 5) and the Spicy Ahi over sushi rice. If u really want sushi and there's nothing to eat but Sushi Man then try it. I thought it was ok. (Forgot To Take Picture)
(3)Arynn I.
My family's go-to place for sushi platters - great price, great varieties, delicious sushi! Granted, Sushiman doesn't have a large dine-in area but it is a great place for to-go orders! Call ahead and usually they just need about 15-20 minutes. Sushi is fresh! They do have some new platters so definitely just ask. For parties, I recommend the Aloha Platters or if you like spicy, they have a spicy platter. Prices are very reasonable. If you order there, the wait is normally not very long and great place for a quick grab-n-go sushi!
(4)S U.
Good sushi for a decent price. I usually get the Tiger Maki which has shrimp tempura inside and spicy ahi outside. Super good! Service is usually really good. The young girl is always really nice and friendly. I did go one evening and there was another lady working the front. She was not friendly at all! I always had good service until this experience. Maybe she should work the back!
(4)Kimberly O.
Came in at 7:30 and made sure it wasn't too late. Ordered Tiger Maki, Spicy Ahi Don, Ahi Nigiri, and California Roll. We sat down to eat and the food was really good. Went up to the register to buy a drink at 7:55 and the girl at the register says "Just so you know we close at 8." Like, yes I'm aware and I'm almost done no need to rush me. That's just bad customer service. Maybe she had a hot date but still there's no reason to rush a paying, tipping customer.
(3)Dine L.
I can only speak for the spicy ahi don here, because thats all I ever get, but I love it! My boyfriend and I come at least 1-2 times a month to eat the spicy ahi don, I find it to be a larger portion than Ninja Sushi, right up the street, for the same price, but tastes better too! I often get bubble drinks as well, which I would say are great, and have a good selection of flavors to choose from. I was reading some negative reviews, but I'd say all of my experiences so far have been good!

Worst ever sushi restaurant. Rice fell apart and was under cooked and actually had to eat the tobiko and Ikura with a spoon since the sushi fell apart. Horrors! Time to close up shop or find another owner. Used to frequent this place but not anymore. What happened? No pride and zero quality control.
(1)Lana H.
Sushiman, you used to be my top 3 places to eat sushi at. The rice fell out of the nori, the fish didn't taste fresh, and the rice was a bit dry. Sushi rice should be a little sticky right?
(2)Devon S.
Bad sushi, just don't do it. It was super dry, the rice was not cooked all the say so it was crunchy and the rolls were falling apart, messy and not done properly at all. the only thing that allowed me to linger was that I could snag some free internet and a plug in for my laptop since the starbucks was full.

Located in the Mililani Shopping Center near Foodland. Stopped by to grab my same o same o - california hand roll with NO mayo. YES, it's not "real" sushi... and YES, it's quite dry since there is no mayo, and YES, I'm quite the oddball as I live in Hawaii and don't eat raw fish... but hey, it is what is it! The small restaurant is clean, the staff was friendly, my order was completed in less than 5 minutes (I mean really? How hard is it to throw some imitation crab, cucumber, and avocado in between rice and roll it up? hehe), and it was cheap! They have a decent menu but unfortunately if you're a true sushi fan who loves raw fish, my review will do you no good. Sorry!! If you like to eat california rolls, this place makes a pretty good one! (as does pretty much ALL sushi joints, lol)

While the Sushi Man chain is generally nothing to write home about (cheap, fast sushi...the end), Sushi Man Mililani is unique among the other shops in this West Coast franchise. Featuring special Maki and menu items not found at any other Sushi Man, this is one take out Sushi place you won't want to overlook the next time you're in the area. My favorite original Maki is the "Crazy Maki". Uramaki (where the rice is on the outside) filled with imitation crab, cucumber, and ahi, sprinkled with ebiko, and then finished with both a spicy mayo and tasty teriyaki sauce--it, as the locals say, "broke da mout'". Another standout is the "Lava Maki". Another uramaki filled with imitation crab and cucumber, and topped with spicy ahi and nori flakes--good stuff! Prices average $6.35 for these special 8 pc. makis, and higher for the shellfish ones. They even offer chiraishi bowls and takoyakis! My verdict: Recommended!

Sushi Man is located in the mililani shopping center next to foodland. I am really liking this place. I go to this place at least once a week and each time I ask the cashier what she would recommend. Each recommendation is quite perfect for me. You're able to order select sushi in 3 piece for an affordable price ranges $3 or the 8 pieces for ranging from $7+. Everything is made fresh. Only thing is they're very limited to parking and as well as dining space and close early during the weekdays. Over all if you're looking for an affordable spot to eat a quick sushi fix and quench that hunger, this place is the spot to do it.
(4)Katie W.
Horrible....we decided to give it a try based on the other reviews and we were so disappointed. They use so much mayo that you can't even taste the crab meat. Tried a few of there specialty rolls as well as your basic spicy tuna and they were all a big disappointment. Never again.

First off, I'm picky about sushi. I've tasted $10 a piece sushi and I've tasted Genki. Sushiman is on the Genki side. But don't get me wrong, the 2 star is rating it against what I'm paying for. With that in mind... I went there a few times just to confirm. In total, I've tried the Lava Roll (8 piece maki style), the Dragon Roll (8 piece maki style), and Unagi Roll (1 piece temaki style but in a roll, not a cone). The maki style sushi is meant to be the new wave sushi with many ingredients, many flavors fused together, decorated with various sauces or aioli or flavored mayo. If you've been to Doraku in Waikiki, you should have a fairly good idea what to expect. Now to be fair, Doraku cost 3-4 times as much so only use it as reference what the type of fusion sushi you are getting. The ingredients here are okay. Most tasted like they are premade hours ago. The degradation is noticeable. Not that they are bad or anything, just not fresh fresh. The sushi rice is a little milder than I expected. I had to try really hard to pick up the rice vinegar flavor. It could just as easily be regular white rice. The sauces are ok, no BAM here. The maki pieces looked gorgeous on the menu but are cramped into a little tiny plastic container. I'm sorry, that's sushi abuse! Normal unagi should be tender, soft, nicely grilled, even a bit crunchy on the thin edges. I have no idea why but theirs are mushy. The taste didn't tell me anything odd, its just the texture isn't right. This place is definately cheap as far as sushi goes but sushi lover will have to have the correct expectation when coming here. Expect to get what you pay for and you'd be okay. Would I go again? Possibly, when I'm looking for cheap fast food sushi. (That's not a punt. It is what it is.)

Sushi Man! Well the wife and I had a craving for sushi but did not feel like going to town or Aiea/Pearl. I used trusty yelp to look for a quick fix. I saw that this location and spot had decent reviews so we gave it a shot. First off the location is small, but you knew that going into it. It seems its primarily a take out location. We ordered a hand full or rolls, and after about 15 minutes they where ready. I was a bit disappointed in the price, and the quality of the rolls. Quite a few fell apart while being picked up, but what do you expect? Over all if you are craving sushi and need a quick fix Sushi Man is your place. The quality could be better, but hey its not too bad.
