They are OPEN! This is totally a local's spot. It is tucked behind the Ace Hardware (yeah, I know, pretty cool, right?). It has a bare bones interior, because at RVN, all that matters is the food. The food is some of the best tasting on the island. The portions are huge, try the melt-in-your-mouth chicken katsu, or the unexpected flavors in the spicy Korean style chicken. The macaroni salad is delicious, and perfectly complements the entrees. A family-run spot, you will feel like you are sitting in your mother's kitchen, if your mother happened to be a caterer. Upon our first visit, the sweet lady owner interrupted us halfway through our meal with a bonus plate of shrimp tempura that she had decided to whip up for us in the kitchen real quick. If you want the true Aloha spirit I recommend going here!

The food is a hit or miss at RVN. The plate lunches are usually good, but their catering is not the greatest. It's never consistent. We ordered from them on two different occasions and the first time, the food was good. The second time, however, it was bland. The reason why I'm giving them a 1 star is because I went to get a plate lunch the other day and the guy serving me touched my food. The rice kind of spilled over into another part of the container and he literally picked it up and put it back where it was supposed to be. To make matters worse he licked his finger right in front of me. So gross. Won't be going back...ever.

We only had the halo halo but it was certainly yummy. We'll be back when we return to Maui. The storefront is pretty nondescript and easy to miss. Next to Ace Hardware.

Get there just when the food hits the steam pans, all good man, all good. Me..I just go for the Pork Adobo and rice..that's it, all the other foods are great too. But when that Pork Adobo is smellin awesome, you can't beat it. Simple, they do know how to cook man! I'd go there with friends who don't know Filipino food, but you got to get there at the right time.. like right before lunch, food is all fresh.

Very interesting but there were language barriers. Locals got better food, which is disappointing. Filipino TV was a hoot.
