Came in after 18 holes on a nice course with a craving for a fish sandwich. There wasn't one on the menu but our waitress, Kiely, checked with the Chef and they just got in a shipment of fresh Opa! He made me a great fish sandwich on request - Aoli and cole slaw. Can't ask for much better service than that. Cindy's Bacon and Bleu Cheese burger was great also. Nice views and good local beer selection. I'll be back.

this is for drinks only. and the 4 stars are for the view/venue. happy hour was supposed to go until 7 but when we got there at 6:15 saw it ended at 6 :( most places in kihei don't have happy hour until 7 as that is sunset and they want to charge full price for drinks. bar has great view of ocean, golf course and mountain. nice and spacious. had live band (major plus). first round of drinks = ginger lemonade and coconut breeze. both good but tasted watered down. second round mango martini and some tropical concoction. both much much better. very pleasant, not crowded, nice setting (indoor and outdoor seating), good drinks and AMAZING sunset.

Good food good service good prices! The place was kind of dead for a Saturday night. We will be back. I had the catch of the day and was very happy with it. The service was good too. Didn't do any drinks but the have some specialty drinks that looked good. The next time we go with be for a happy hour!

Was there over a week ago and was amazed and disappointed.. Amazed how beautiful the place came together. Disappointed in the chefs... Been there 4/5 times since grand opening until now. Never had the food tasted so salty... New chef perhaps? But it is EXTREMELY salty... ( Ravioli )

Kono's is one of our new favorite restaurants in Kihei. Great food, great service, great view and great prices.

I love this place! The food is pretty good... the view is amazing ... and the music is great for dancing. Especially on Sunday's when Omar is there with his fantastic musicians. Different people sit in with him, but I've always had a great time and really enjoyed the music and dancing watching the sunset over the West Maui Mountains or dropping into the ocean (depending on the time of year). Also on Saturday nights they have Neto and Barbara playing latin music for dining and dancing!

I'm reluctant to write this review but failure with restaurant basics and poor service soured our experience. We had a party of eight and started the evening with drinks and a bottle of white wine - a nice Spanish white. Unfortunately the bottle was not chilled. They poured into our glasses and only then put the bottle into ice. If they had let us know we would have gladly waited a few minutes to let the wine fully chill. We had some appetizers, which were good, but then waited for a fairly long time for the entrees to arrive even though the restaurant wasn't that busy. They then brought out entrees for three of the party (prawns), and these three individuals of course waited for the other's dishes to come out...and waited...and waited. It truthfully was over *6 minutes* until they brought out the other dishes. The server didn't apologize or say anything about the delay, though I suspect it was the kitchen's fault not hers. By that time the first dishes had cooled off. I should have said something at that time and possibly sent back the prawn orders to be done fresh. At the end of the meal I found the manager and let him know what happened in a very cordial tone. He thanked me for letting me know and asked at what table we were sitting. OK - all good I thought. The bill came and of course, the manager declined to comp us an appetizer or take any sort of compensatory action - highly disappointing, and since we were a large party the gratuity was mandatory.

Hmmmmm.....where should I begin? The bugs, the wait time or luke warm food. We made reservations due to most of the positive reviews. However, the empty parking lot should have been a clear indication. The waitress I will exclude from this poor review. She (my apologies for not catching her name) was trying her best to accommodate for the lack of.... Let's start with the bugs....endless swatting. Appetizers took about 20mins but main course - nearly an hour! Wtf....there was barely any other patrons. Every food came out luke warm. I don't even want to waste the time and explain which plate lacked what.....it was just a very disappointing experience. Our party was of 7 adults and 4 kids. I would say there was another table of 2 and 4. I'm not sure if I should include the hostess with her friend. I wanted to give only one star. However, they comped us the last 2 dishes. Gave the extra star for trying.....

A gem! Great view, excellent food, and attentive service. We came on Sunday night and were pleased to find a live band playing. Unexpected and a very welcome change from the overpriced resort restaurants!!

We stopped by for lunch since we were in the area and always wanted to try it out. ATMOSPHERE: Kono's is the restaurant space at the Maui Nui Golf Course, formerly known as the Silversword and Elleair names. The exterior hasn't been updated much if any at all since I can remember, but the inside has definitely been upgraded with wood floors, dark decor, and cool lighting. There's a small sushi bar but I'm not sure if it's even used as there were no chairs at the counter. They have a fairly good sized bar, spaciously placed tables, and an outdoor lanai seating with minimal to zero protection from the sun. The views are exceptional; Haleakala, the golf course, the Pacific, Kahoolawe, Lanai, and the West Maui Mountains. While the background views are fabulous, it's the area around the restaurant that needs work. Mops leaning up against the building, ugly electrical cords hanging, an old cooler that's been there for months due to the build up of trash around it, weeds in the flowerless flower beds, and what looked like a broken citronella candle dish. Very simple fixes. LUNCH MENU: Soups, salads, quesadillas, burgers, pastas, sandwiches, pizzas. FOOD: Beef Penne Stroganoff - I opted for linguine pasta instead, which was cooked okay. The dish lacked flavor, salt, and depth. The meat was tender but tasteless. The toppings of peas, onions, diced pickles and tomatoes thankfully gave the dish some sort of life. The portion size was good for the $12 price. I've had tasty stroganoff at my former employer's cafeteria in Kaanapali, as well as in the motherland of Russia, but this was far from tasting anything like traditional stroganoff. Pass. RESERVATIONS: Not needed for lunch as the place was dead. SERVICE: Our server Kylie was friendly, professional, and checked on us twice. A bus boy also assisted us for a cup of coffee. OVERALL: Good prices, nice views, mainstream pasta.

A wonderful spot for sunset dining in Maui! My friends and I enjoyed several appetizers during an event tonight and loved every bite. The staff was friendly and prompt. The atmosphere was fun and casual. We had a great time!

We only came in for Happy Hour so I can't review their full menu. Their Happy Hour prices are pretty reasonable. 1/2 off Pupus and then $6 well drinks, $6 wine and $4.50-5.50 beers. Four seating areas: the bar, dining tables, outdoor patio and a lounge with comfy chairs and sofas. We sat in the lounge area watching a football game. It was a comfortable environment to relax, talk and drink. Our service was friendly and pretty attentive. Our sweet potato fries were nice and crispy. My husband had a local beer and I had a house margarita that was pretty strong. We had a good time and I'm sure we'll be back to try more Pupus and enjoy the view.

Beautiful views that we will return to. Thought it seemed dated like it was a hot place in the 70s or 80s. Things are a tad worn and used and not in an eclectic cool way. Went for Happy Hour and meh. My tap beer bored me and the calamari was just ok. Prices aren't so reduced either. We will return for a music event and the golf of course. But Happy Hour?, maybe with an elderly relative to see the sunset.

I had a hard time deciding between giving Kono's a two- or three-star rating, but finally settled on two, because ultimately, this establishment struggles terribly with its identity. Does it cater to those seeking fine dining? Are Happy Hour specials its forte? Or maybe it just wants to be the best 19th Hole on the island? Factors that almost swayed my rating to three stars: 1) Our waiter tried hard. It was apparent that he wanted to be a good waiter, and in fact, he was for the most part. Perhaps a little more familiarity with the workings of the kitchen and the menu would do him some good, but at least he was earnest. 2) The view was spectacular, and our party had the beautifully-illuminated entire terrace to ourselves. Why I ultimately gave Kono's two stars: 1) The food was prepared poorly, and frankly, met not one of my party's constituents' standards. I may be a picky eater, by my sister-in-law isn't, and even she was perturbed by the unevenness of her steak's flavoring and doneness. Mine (aside from the quality of the meat), reminded me of the first AND LAST time I ordered a steak at Denny's (the foolishness of youth). Kono's might be a decent place to compare scorecards or drink on the cheap, but as far as a proper dining establishment, it's got many more yards to go.

If you are looking for a nice, relaxing place to end the weekend, I recommend Konos on the Green for outdoor jazz and spirits. Get there early as outdoor sitting normally fills up around 445pm for a 5pm start. As I've eaten here a number of times after golf, this review is a blend of those experiences. Jazz Music: The name of the band that night escapes me but the singer's name was Omar who apparently is also a DJ for a local radio station. The band themselves were very good. I've done a number of live jazz clubs and used to live in Las Vegas were live music was a pretty standard staple. In short, I'd go to hear this band in any venue. Sunday Drink Menu: The drink specials were good...I loved the Mango Martini but the Hibiscus Ginger Tea and Ocean Cosmo were pretty tasty too. If you are going to do just one drink, go for the Mango! Drink specials were $8...not bad for Maui. Sunday Pupu Menu: We ordered the Coconut Shrimp (good), the Chicken and Pesto Quesadilla (good) and the Calamari (fair, at best). Food: Personally, I've had much better dining experiences with Konos when just sitting at the bar after a round of golf and eating one their paninis (Chicken Artichoke Panini...awesome) or one of their burgers (Gorgozola Cheese and Bacon Burger...broke dah mouth good).

Decided to try this out as an alternative to our usual Maui spots. Kono's is in the Maui Nui Golf Club just mauka of Kihei - the setting is causal and active -- when we arrived at 6:00 the happy hour crowd was still there. Very friendly and the view toward sunset over West Maui is spectacular. Our waitress greeted us and took our drink order but no rush to order. For appetizers we had the Ahi Carpaccio -- fish tender with a delicious tomato and olive oil dressing --and the Toasted Goat Cheese with Chilled Ratatouille -- rich and creamy served with toast . . .delicious. For entrees we had Linguini Vongole and Sesame Seared Ahi -- the sauces on the Ahi (ponzu/sriracha) were impressive The only points off were slow service to take our orders (but that is relaxed Maui dining) and we had to ask for bread. However, this didn't take away from the excellent food. Overall, if your looking for a relaxed dining spot with a great view, try this one.

We had a table of at least 15 guests. I was impressed with this place. The service was really good and friendly, from hostess to servers. There is live music that added to the ambiance. Nice creative menu, good bar selection and nicely presented plates. The place was open air so expect, showers, mosquitoes and sunsets. After dinner you can enjoy an aperitif in the lounge.

This was on the top of my list to recommend to people for brunch and HH. NOT ANYMORE! We came in for brunch for the 4 of us. While I understand the half dining room was reserved for 10 am, we came in at 910 and the hostess tells us: You can't have this section (understandable that portion is reserved) You can have that table of 4 in the back corner but you will ABSOLUTELY have to be done before 10 because we have a reservation for that one too. Do you think you could actually finish eating by then or wait.... You're here for the buffet (while she scans us up an down), yeah you can't have that table either. So how about you just sit on the couches with your kids? Seriously? 1 star awarded for fastest it's ever taken to insult me and my family in under 2 minutes.

I thought the restaurant was alright, but nothing I'd jump to come back to. I have to say, the mixed drinks seem pretty spot on. This is something they seem to do very well, so maybe this place's sweet spot is happy hour. We started with the foie gras and scallop appetizer...which was embarrassingly lacking any foiegras at all. We got a chunk the size of a quarter and a tiny piece the size of a dime. It really doesn't seem to qualify as making it seem like a highlight of the dish. It was alright, but could've lost like 3 ingredients. We had the prawn and the scallop entrees. Prawns were slightly over cooked, and scallops were mushy and didn't have that sear I was hoping for and that makes scallops so delicious. Also, the dish descriptions said there was spinach in the plate...and I literally had one leaf of spinach mixed into my rice. There was a definite lack of seasoning on the scallops and shrimp. Like they had hoped the sauce and other components would just balance it out, but they needed SOME sort of seasoning to stand on. We also had to ask for bread. It seems like they won't give you a basket unless you ask for it. Dessert seemed uninspired and thawed from a freezer somewhere, so we skipped. If you're outside, it seems like you may be slightly forgotten at times, or maybe all service is a little slow. Don't come here in a rush!

Went here about a month ago for dinner & it was great! Service was good, food was tasty and we figured this could be a great new spot. This time (a few days ago) our waitress (who was in training/shadowing our waitress last time) was awful--very oblivious and inattentive! She kept forgetting things and I even had to ask the busser to get something for us. She saw me go ask him and didn't even apologize. It was not busy at all- only 4 small tables of people. I can't imagine why service was so bad. I had to ask her about the specials as she did not offer to tell us them. She even brought us our check before asking if we wanted dessert (it was my sister's birthday and I'm sure she would have wanted something if it had not seemed like the waitress was trying to rush our table out of there). The bread we got was yummy (didn't get any the first time we came). Food was ok this time. Steamed clams were hard to find (but great miso sauce), portion of calamari was smaller than the last time we came and the crispy pork was overcooked (we like crispy but the meat was dry). Pasta dishes were good and fish special was delicious. Food seems to be decent but after that kind of service it's hard to want to go back. I wish they would be more consistent with their food & service!

$10 buffet?? Are we in Vegas? No. We're in Maui, specifically at Kono's on the green! This review is solely for their buffet that they have throughout the week, 9 am-11:30 am (11 am on the weekends.) My fiancées friend works around the area and mentioned the buffet. It's $10. Super cheap, especially for Maui. Seating is pretty ample for about the first hour they're open. Inside seats about 40 and theres a television. It's a small buffet: *Meats like spam, Portuguese sausage and bacon. * Biscuits and gravy (brown and white gravy.) * Rosemary breakfast potatoes (these were kind of salty.) * Scrambled eggs and some kind of spinach frittata thing.) * Fried rice/white rice I wish they had something sweet in this buffet, like pancakes or even jelly for the biscuits, but it's $10 so I digress. Service is good too; everyone is friendly and water is filled fairly quick.

It was a nice restaurant overlooking the golf course not far from our condo. It was not on the beach but you could see the ocean in the far off distance. First and foremost, best Mai Tai I had on the island! Amazing! AND SO STRONG. I had no idea how strong until I'd already ordered a second. I only had those 2 drinks that day and wowza did it get me! So delicious-not too sweet, made with their own recipe. Second, the service was fantastic. Our waitress was friendly and chatty and the food came out really fast. AND they had happy hour. We ate dinner for half the price we would have paid had we gotten their later. We started with the coconut shrimp. Then we got their pizza. Michael wasn't a fan of the crust but I liked it a lot. It was thin and just the right amount of crispy. Probably the best part (other than the Mai Tais) was the live music! There were some older folks there playing salsa music and they sounded great. There were also tons of people dancing! There was this older Japanese gentlemen (I'd say 70's?) with his beautiful wife that were out there most of the evening salsa dancing. Sometimes other people (older gentlemen) cut in but everyone was dancing and having a great time. It was so much fun to watch! Definitely an older crowd but I had a blast.

Kono's was a let down for me. It had decent reviews but I didn't really think it was worth the hype. The restaurant had live music but it also has a cover of $5/person. The kind lady at the front let us bypass this cover change because we didn't know there was going to be music and it was our first visit. We were seated at the bar because there was no room in the dining room. That wasn't a big deal and we appreciate the view and windows. The chairs and the tables don't look like the ones on the website. They are worn wooden tables of different height by the window. I know this because we had to push two tables together so our whole party could sit together. The music was really really loud. It was pleasant music and the other patrons looked like they were having a great time but if you are looking for a quiet dinner, this isn't the place (when they have a band). The waitress was very nice but the service is extremely slow. I didn't get my cocktail until after all the appetizers were served and eatten. I had some clam chowder ($6) to start and it was really lovely. Lots of clams and great broth. I had the margherita pizza ($14) for my entree and I am sad to say it was really lacking. The crust was chewy, there was barely any sauce and it was a bit tasteless. My sister and brother-in-law said that their food was luke warm like it was sitting out a bit. My mom's shrimp were overcooked. I won't be coming back but maybe this was all a fluke and other people will have better luck.

What a wonderful surprise! We were heading back from the heliport towards Makena. We wanted to catch sunset and a drink. I found this on Yelp. It's the clubhouse/restaurant for a public course. Casual dining. Right? Well, casual dress yes....but upscale dining in a very friendly casual atmosphere. A blend of locals and tourists. Great service. Great bartender and scrumptious good. The best caesar salad I've had in years ( and I order it everywhere! ). I also had lobster ravioli, yummy! My husband had fantastic New England clam chowder and chicken Alfredo. I have no doubt their seafood is also amazing. The musician was entertaining and personable. Took a lot of requests.

Don't let the dated exterior of the building for you, give it a try !!! Sunday evenings are a real treat at this centrally located restaurant in South Kihei. Indoor and outdoor seating so you can enjoy a beautiful sunset and ocean view. Enjoy fresh fish or even a pizza, great cocktails, and then dance to live music. Great spot for a date night

I had my birthday lunch here. At a distance, you can see the ocean from the dining area. Windy on that day so they were not serving outside in the patio facing the golf course. Place was not quite full but it was nice and not too noisy. A lot of golfers and tourist out for lunch. I liked the place. Lunch special of Wahoo was excellent. We also ordered pizza, pastas and hamburgers. All were well done and fresh. The sangria was very tasty. You must try and just enjoy your day in paradise. I would recommend this place. They also have breakfast buffet with unlimited mimosas. Try it. It's worth your $15. Most places charge for cocktail that much. Here, you get mimosas and some good breakfast.

Really nice staff, and for the local area definitely a highlight. It's not amazingly high end, it's cheap (for Maui) with friendly staff and a nice bar/restaurant ambiance We had a burger and the pulled pork, which was excellent value, we'll cooked and brought to us hot. Desert was god too, albeit just ice cream cake and ice cream. We'll worth the stop in!

  • Dave N.

Lets start off with the food (high point) It was awesome! The salad was great, clean and well thought out! The seafood in tomato saffron was really yummy, great bright flavors, with clean tastes! The pork chop we split was cooked to perfection ( not over or under done) with shrooms, potatoes and a great sauce! The wine list was okay (we started with champagne and when i asked the waitress what kind it was she said Brut :) ) nothing to holler about, the desert menu needs some description, most of your diners aren't from Hawaii ; we asked the waitress to explain the desert menu, she wasn't totally sure on everything So this is not a fine dining restaurant or is it? It is a golf course bar/ restaurant with an extraordinary chef. The magazine made it look spectacular. The patio overlooks a busy highway, with a peekaboo view of the ocean. The restaurant is a golf course bar. But the food is wow! Don't dress up, but do go to try the chefs food, just don't expect fine dining or fine service.

*Late review from my visit 5 months ago. I wanted to try a new Happy Hour place, especially since they have a sushi happy hour. Well...neither was good. First, they were out of Maui Brewing Co AND Kona beers. Not cool. Second, I ordered a Tuna Roll. What came out was a Spicy Tuna Roll. That was ok. But when I asked the waitress, because the Spicy was higher in price, she said that it was the regular Tuna Roll. But when I got my bill, it was in fact charged for the Spicy Tuna roll.

This place is basically the restaurant at the Elleair Maui Golf Course. Went there on a Monday and the place was empty. The sunset views were great on the Lanai, and so was the view of the 18th hole. On to the food.. The rack of lamb was DELICIOUS!! Cooked perfectly, medium rare. The pork chop was juicy, not dried out. And the sauce was spectacular. The shrimp and scallop platter was so so, but the shrimps were prawns. The scallops were ok size, not really suitable for dinner, more like a appetizer. The seared Ahi was tasty and also cooked perfectly. The hostesses were very friendly, and so was the bar manager. He come over a few times to make sure the dinners were satisfactory. He also gave us return discount coupons. Overall experience was very pleasant. Casual dress code. Portions were huge!!

Konos has a not to be missed Happy Hour every day from 2 to 6 and weekends til 5. Delicious appetizers loved the mushroom ravioli and scallops. Chef makes awesome sushi rolls I especially love the caterpillar roll! Several sushi rolls just 5 bucks Thursday to Sun and lots of half priced appetizers during happy hour. We went on a Friday night, beautiful sunset view and great music from Neto, salsa dancing too! We heard there was a 10 dollar breakfast on weekends and came back Saturday morning. Great breakfast selection (fried rice was yummy) and you can't beat 10 bucks all you can eat! We will definitely be back.

Sweet breakfast buffet for only $10! Bottomless mimosas for $14. Yes , please. Buffet had a crustless spinach quiche, scrambled eggs, Portuguese sausage fried rice, white rice, biscuits and gravy, spam, Portuguese sausage, pancakes, hash browns , brown gravy. All in all, a nice variety at a great price. I will be back again. My only complaint is that the eggs were really dry... Everything else was on point.

Perhaps the food for dinner is better then lunch. Lunch was not that good and overpriced. The pizza was below average and chicken quesadilla were similar in rating to pizza. Would not come back for lunch.

Went there for lunch. They have a nice lunch menu and the food was very good. Service was good and nice atmosphere. I would give this 4 stars if there portion sizes were bigger. I ordered a salad for $6, but it only took me 7 bites to finish it. Tiny! My wife and our friend both had paninis which were very tasty but again on the small side compared to other local restaurants with similar menus.

Kono's on the green is a fantastic option for happy hour... Great live music, beautiful sunset view, and delicious pupus! We went there for happy hour and ended up staying for dinner because the food was so good and we were having such a great time! Please check out Kono's on the Green if you are ever in Maui, you will not be disappointed!

Update:great happy hour tonight...yummy onion rings and delicious artichoke/pesto pizza...and Kirin on draft! Much better than my last visit. Had dinner with a friend at Konos tonight...we were both disappointed. While the hostess was very friendly, she never mentioned that happy hour was limited to seating in the "lounge" and seated us at a table. It took our server at least 10 minutes to acknowledge us. More time passed before we were given water or offered drinks. We ordered the mushroom and pine nut ravioli for a starter. Looked beautiful but lacked seasoning and was overpowered by the taste of cheap white wine. We decided to split a pepperoni pizza after that...it took about 30 minutes before it came to the table. We had to ask the waiter for plates to put it on. The crust was crispy on the edges and barely cooked underneath. Again- no seasoning...we had to ask for red pepper and Parmesan to give it any flavor. Our empty water glasses and beer were ignored until the owner himself came over to give us water and offer more drinks. He was so kind, I didn't have the heart to tell him that his servers and food are severely lacking. Might go back for happy hour in "the lounge" and sushi...but I think there are much better options for pizza in Kihei.

  • Claire P.

In the past I've had great service and great food.... Last night both were severely lacking. The server walked away to another table in the middle of me ordering. Aside from getting our food to the table, she ignored us. They had no pizza dough made at the dinner hour. We ordered ribeye steaks medium rare and they were well done. I made the mistake of sending mine back. The new one was raw.... I took it home for the dog. The sauce and the potatoes were sour, like vinegar was spilled on it. The saving grace of that meal was the sushi.... Made just right! Thank you sushi chef....we may come back for sushi.

Had happy hour then an early dinner last night - service was 100% as were the drinks and dinner. George - the Manager - was as friendly and professional as you could ask for in any business. All workers we interacted with were fantastic. Food was to die for - we both had the special - Prime Cut Filet Mignon paired with a lobster tail - it was excellent - we loved everything about the place - friendly courteous staff, great location and a fabulous view as a bonus!!! Will definitely go back and highly recommend.

Ate here for lunch after seeing they were an Asian-Fusion restaurant. Well, They might be, but not for lunch. So, about 1:30p the other day, we stop in and end up ordering a burger for the wife and a spicy chicken sandwich for me. I have to say, the BEST chicken sandwich ever. A little on the spicy side, but REALLY good. Best chicken sandwich I've ever had...EVER. Juicy, tender, amazing. At this point, who cares about Asian-Fusion. On the hamburger, the meat was pretty good. They really missed the mark when they brought it well done instead of Med-Rare. Had no-pink. My wife learned to eat meat well done, so no biggie, but they miss the five star mark by overcooking. Fries were absolutely great. Battered and seasoned. Will go back. Only thing that was a huge disappointment was that Yelp offered a free dessert if we checked in there. Only problem was that when I unlocked the offer, I said I had to bring four people---fail.

We had a great time at this new restaurant (just opened last week). Staff was friendly, attentive, and courteous; nice atmosphere, good view and great food! The broth for the steamed clams was excellent. Ribeye steak was seasoned perfectly and cooked just right. Scallops were sweet and tasty. We will definitely be back!

We had a lovely evening with a friendly staff, live music and beautiful sunset. We started with the really tasty roasted beet salad. It was fresh, beautiful and the dressing was delicious. We used the bread to clean the plate. We ordered the scallops with mushroom risotto(my favorite) and sesame crusted ahi. Both were delicious, I can't wait to go back!

After a long morning at the grand wailea spa, my friend & I were ready for lunch & some time outside! I figured lunch on a golf course would be perfect, and Kono on the Green was the perfect choice! What we didn't know is that arriving at 2 was the perfect time! We were able to order off the lunch menu & enjoy happy hour specials that start at 2:30! The Mai Tais were delicious, not watered down like we have found in other places. The lunch menu offers a great variety of salads, sandwiches & pizzas. The beef panini with sweet potato fries & chicken, artichoke pizza with pesto sauce were the perfect choices!!! We enjoyed the green & ocean views from the patio seating! The service was prompt & attentive! Great choice for a golf clubhouse meal!

Delicious food and great view!! You are right on the golf course and can also see the ocean. Very peaceful and great service. The food was on point! Great flavors! Really peaceful location in Kihei.

$10 breakfast buffet! That's says it all. Food was good. 9 item line, good for the price. The country gravy was the best I've had in years. Service was a bit on the slow side probably because only one server was working. Luckily there was only 2 other parties when we arrived, thought when we left the place was filling up. All and all great place for breakfast.

My rating is mostly for the service. We came in for dinner on our last night in Hawaii. It was a Tuesday night and we had reservations for 6:30pm. There were only two other tables with people eating but the service was SO slow. The food was very good, I have no complaints about the food (I ordered filet mignon, hubby ordered prawns, kids had pasta). The appetizer came out in a reasonable amount of time but the main meals took much longer. Again this isn't even my big complaint. Once we finished our meals, we thought about ordering dessert but the waitress took so long to bring us the dessert menu and then to come back and ask if we had made any decisions, that we just decided to leave. We then asked for the check and this again took a long time. It shouldn't take 30 minutes between bringing the dessert menu and bringing the check once a decision had been made. Like I said, the restaurant was not busy.

If you want to wait an hour and 45 min for pizza and salad and the restaurant wasn't even packed then this is your place. Pizza was raw in the center and had to send back. Won't go back or tell people to go there.

Love this place!! Mine and my husbands "go to" date spot! The food is always consistent and the views are wonderful. The staff is always nice as well. I usually have the scallops because it's gluten free option for me but they were out last time. Our server was very helpful in finding me another similar gluten free option on the menu ( I know asking about gf menu items can be annoying), and I loved it !!! ( Kauai prawns) They have live music on Sunday nights which is fun. Last Sunday was a funk band. A nice switch up to the reggae bands you would ALWAYS hear in the triangle. Keep doing what you are doing Konos it's working!!

Sunday nights are a blast with a live band that plays mainly oldies but very well scallops were good, they could definitely use better appetizer selection as they aren't but for sharing. Great vibe and nice views and patio. Get there early to get a table outside. Nice wine pours!

Wish there was a less than 1 star rating. Just a reminder... Golf courses are for golfing not eating. This was the worst meal I've had. The description talks about fresh local food. There was nothing fresh about it. The beet salad was terrible. A bag of lettuce from Costco with some beets. I asked for fish on the side. It tasted charred with no seasoning. My friends ordered a pizza which was clearly previously frozen. The service was even worse.

My overall experience was great. There's good lighting, great service, and fantastic food. For my appetizer i had the steamed clams. the sauce was great. it had lots of flavor and garlic which i love. For my main meal I had the Rack of lamb. It was cook perfectly with scalloped potatoes, mushrooms, asparagus, and a balsamic vinaigrette. My desert was the creme brûlée it had a good amount of flavor. I had a awesome overall experience at this restaurant & I would eat here again.

Hidden Secret! Although upscale prices it was worth it. Nice quaint bar/lounge area. The food was AMAZING! We went for dinner with good friends. We were very pleased. Kono's who is originally from Japan but has been living inHawaii for many years came an introduced himself. Very important in this industry with today's competition. The Chef is a young Caucasian male who also came to our table is new to the Hawaiian Islands but has a very tasty menu. The Bar manager who actually waited on us was the BOMB! We had dinner after sunset but I could tell they have a great view. They offer indoor and out door seating. They had nice live lounge music while we had beverages, pupus and dinner. Dessert was yummy too. After leaving there it's all I talked about for the rest of the week. I can't wait to go back. Mahalo Kono San!

Beautiful venue, wide open views everywhere you look. Above the hustle and bustle of Kihei. The food is amazing. I had the seared Ahi, large serving size (took half home) and every bite was delicious. Wait staff was friendly and Kono makes sure everyone is happy! The Sunday night Jazz happy hour is awesome! Great music and as I said before, you couldn't find a better place to sit back and enjoy Maui.

4.5 Stars... My hubby and I were celebrating our anniversary in Maui. We specifically wanted to try local restaurants, versus the super high end places (at Four Seasons, Ruth Chris' etc.) We tried the sushi (as an appetizer - great), Teriyaki Rib Eye was very tasty and tender, however my favorite menu item was the Soy Braised Short Rib!!!! Hat's off to the chef and a big thank you to our super cool server Dante for her recommendations. Overall we had great service (hostess, servers, bartenders all showed much aloha), Chef prepared great food, and we had phenomenal views from our reserved table at the window. We had both our first and our last dinner on the island at Kono's On The Green... we will be back!

I am so glad my husband brought me to Konos for our date night-it was perfect, everything perfect! When I first looked at the menu it all looked so delicious! I was even more excited to see they had outdoor seating so we could enjoy a beautiful sunset (which turned out up be the highlight of the evening!!) We decided to order several smallish items so we could try a variety. -The spinach salad was fresh and very well balanced, a bite of everything together was perfection! -The saffron seafood soup I wanted to slurp it down!!! The base for the broth was very rich in flavor, very pleasing and complimented the seafood. Best clams I have ever had! -The creamy crab and shrimp croquette was wonderfully creamy, just as promised. I especially loved that the crunchy spring mix beneath it added great texture to complete each bite, and wasn't just there for show ( my pet peeve!) -The chicken artichoke pesto pizza I could eat every day! I normally don't like chicken on my pizza, I only ordered it bc my husband was into it but I ended up eating more than he did. It was even better cold the next day (as any good pizza should be haha) The crust was the perfect consistency. Service was great, attentive, friendly-couldnt ask for more! As we were paying our bill (and taking a gajillion pictures of the GORGEOUS sunset!) my husband applauded me for not ordering desert! What ?! I forgot desert?! Oh well, I guess we'll have to come back again!!! Next time we'll each have an entree and share, I can't wait!!

Lunch here was actually very good. When we first walked in, there was only one table having lunch. As we waited for our food, about 5 other tables walked in. With only 1 server, this slowed the service somewhat, but our waiter did pretty good for being so busy. The 2 seater tables are very small and cramped, but the view was pretty good. The food was also very good. The fried rice loco moco was delicious and the perfect portion and the steak plate was also very good! This looks like a good place to have some drinks after work or golfing, but they need to supplement the wait help. I will be back!!!

Not worth it. The lamb we ordered was under seasoned. It wasn't even cleaned correctly. Very nice piece of meat cooked well but no flavor. The scallops were also bland. The chocolate mousse was grainy and the best thing on the plate was the whipped cream. Creme brulee wasn't even made with real vanilla bean! It was disappointing. We were hoping to enjoy a nice dinner on our honeymoon.

I feel lucky to have this upscale, yet affordable place to enjoy in Kihei. My wife and I have eaten numerous times for lunch and diner here. We love it. Every time the service is impeccable and friendly. We enjoyed the delicious creations as well as the atmosphere so much that we chose to host our wedding reception here! The evening turned out phenomenal! Kono and his staff members went way out of their way to help rearrange the layout of the restaurant to include an outdoor dance area and dj set up. Our menu was top notch! The mushroom ravioli was in a very flavorful creamy sauce. The fish was light and perfectly prepared. The mixed beet salad with fresh greens was vibrant and colorful to look at as well as yummy to eat. Truly a job well done by these guys. We couldn't have been happier with how professional and easy to work with this crew was. If you are looking for an elegant and welcoming venue for your wedding reception, or a place to celebrate your next birthday, anniversary, or even hold a business meeting; this place gets my vote. Thanks to Kono's on the Green for such a great experience! Aloha, Amber and Masao.

I had one of the best meals I've had on this trip to Maui. It started with chicken tottilla soup that was about the best I have ever had. And it was quite plentiful. Came here for Happy Hour which runs from 3-6pm. They have drink specials and discounted appetizers. Their signature drinks are $7.50 instead of the regular $9.50 price. There is a Pina Colada for $7; Margarita or Bloody Mary for $5. We looked at the "old school" drinks and appetizers on the menu and our initial response was to run, but we hung in there, and waited and waited for a server to come and take our order. None of their signature drinks feature gin; mostly rum, vodka and tequila. I had an ocean vodka cosmo ($7.50) that wasn't too sweet or too special. My hubby had a Bloody Mary ($5) under-garnished with just a wedge of lime and lemon. The four cheese pizza with the home made tomato sauce ($9) looked and tasted like frozen and the bottom was not crisp but the edges were burnt. The Shichimi crusted ahi with ponzu ($9) was kinda bland and forgettable. If your cocktail needs don't extend past old school drinks this Happy Hour might be for you, but this place did not make me happy. On the positive side the interior Kono's is nice and upscale and there are beautiful views of the golf course, the ocean and west maui mountains.

Went to Kono's On The Green about two weeks ago while vacationing in Maui. First of all, the view from the outside patio was amazing! Combine that with great and friendly service, some delicious apps and a bottle of wine (or two) and you've got my vote any day. Oh they also had a sweet jazz band playing some groovy tunes that night, bonus!

We will definitely be back!

new restaurant at Elleair golf course. Went for lunch and sat on the patio, nice ocean views. Food was good, service was good, prices are good. We will definitely be back!

Good food good service good prices! The place was kind of dead for a Saturday night. We will be back. I had the catch of the day and was very happy with it. The service was good too. Didn't do any drinks but the have some specialty drinks that looked good. The next time we go with be for a happy hour!

Gave the extra star for trying.....

this is for drinks only. and the 4 stars are for the view/venue. happy hour was supposed to go until 7 but when we got there at 6:15 saw it ended at 6 :( most places in kihei don't have happy hour until 7 as that is sunset and they want to charge full price for drinks. bar has great view of ocean, golf course and mountain. nice and spacious. had live band (major plus). first round of drinks = ginger lemonade and coconut breeze. both good but tasted watered down. second round mango martini and some tropical concoction. both much much better. very pleasant, not crowded, nice setting (indoor and outdoor seating), good drinks and AMAZING sunset.

Sunday nights are a blast with a live band that plays mainly oldies but very well scallops were good, they could definitely use better appetizer selection as they aren't but for sharing. Great vibe and nice views and patio. Get there early to get a table outside. Nice wine pours!

Was there over a week ago and was amazed and disappointed.. Amazed how beautiful the place came together. Disappointed in the chefs... Been there 4/5 times since grand opening until now. Never had the food tasted so salty... New chef perhaps? But it is EXTREMELY salty... ( Ravioli )
