I was excited to try this little spot because between Captain Cook and Kona, there isn't much there. Modern and clean! They've got a nice little bathroom in the corner too which helps ;) I ordered a coffee and veggie sandwich. It was delicious and all handmade freshly on the spot. My favorite thing was getting the carrot sticks on the side to nibble. Super healthy! They also had a variety of homemade pastries and cookies.

Top notch espresso and views. Super duper tasteful decor. Great service. May all cafes and restaurants in Kona take this as their model. Kona's food scene needs rejuvenation.

Actually used to be a very positive place, now not so much. Staff needs to be more respectful and also be more fair torwards the workers who actually work hard. Also, if you got an attitude, don't bring it to work.. Just a friendly tip.

Exceptional sundried tomato bagel. Coffee good. Nice view of the ocean from the deck. Friendly service.

A great cup of coffee roasted on site. 100 percent Kona coffee. Food menu is limited but the breakfast panini was quite good. A fair assortment of baked goods that go very well with the coffee. A very clean cute atmosphere with some outdoor seating with a nice view. Very friendly staff when we went today. We'll be back again.

If you are looking for a break heading down south, Cafe Florian is well worth the stop. Great coffee and pastries. Sandwiches, salads and breakfast looked delicious. Customer service can't be beat. Enjoy!

Today we tried the turkey provolone panini and the coffee brave. I asked for bacon on the panini because it's that kind of day. Panini was delicious, as were the coffees. Great service also.

Every time I come in I get grumpy faces from the employees, short answers, and no one seems to enjoy their job which reflects in the atmosphere. Also, the post six times they've over charged on my bagel, you'd think they'd figure out how to use a register by now... I refuse to go there now

The breakfast sandwiches are excellent but the dessert is absolutely amazing. We sampled the push pops - sooooo good; the lilikoi bar; peanut butter bar and the lilikoi cream puff. All desserts were phenomenal! Lattes were great also! Friendly staff and nice view!

My favorite "Caffe" to stop in when I'm in the area. Beautifully decorated with lots of seating inside and outside with a view. Compared to what it was before (Orchid Isle Cafe), it's night and day! Every inch of this cafe is brand new and absolutely gorgeous. Everything in the bakery and on the menu is delicious! I've been there enough to say I've tried nearly everything! The owner and staff are extremely friendly and inviting. Definitely must stop in when you're in the area. Easy to find, they're located right on the main highway with ample parking.

Quaint little cafe off 11 just outside of Kailua. Stopped here on our way south and enjoyed breakfast. I had the veggie egger, an English muffin topped with eggs, cheese, avocado, onion, and spinach. My husband had a blueberry parfait and porridge. We each had iced espresso drinks. Everything was good and we sat on the back porch taking in the view with our meal.

Based on the first visit, it's a 3.5 star. I'm feeling generous, so I rounded it up to 4. I will return few more times to finalize my review. The coffee was good. I had their house brew, and it was pretty good. They have a small roaster inside the store, so I assume they roast their own, which by itself does not guarantee good coffee. I roast my own coffee at home, so that alone does not impress me, but the effort is definitely positive. The view is nice, with a small lanai seating. The interior is clean and tastefully decorated. The staff seem very nice. And it is much better than the Orchid Isle Café (that is what this place used to be). The food needs a little work. I am partly to blame for what I ordered (artichoke cheese panini). Artichoke in Kona? What was I thinking? I must have thought I was in Castroville. I should have known better. The artichoke had very little flavor (I'm guessing it came in a jar), and it tasted more like a plain grilled cheese sandwich. I will try something else next time. And the apple pecan turnover? Well, I don't think apple and pecan are good combination. And the dough looked and tasted like a frozen in-a-tube variety. I will try other selections from their bakery next time. For now, a generous 4 star. May 2015 update: It is a solid 4-star (upgraded from 3.5). Their bakery and dessert offerings have gradually expanded. Their croissant is very good. Their smoothies are better than Jamba Juice's.

So excited to have such a fabulous new place for breakfast & lunch. They did an amazing job on the remodel and it's nothing at all like it was when Orchid cafe (which is a good thing) The menu is great and the bakery display case is the best I've seen in Kona, it was almost impossible to not order one of everything it really was. Decided on a few breakfast menu items as well as muffins and chocolate mousse for later. Later ended up being as soon as we walked across the street to our car :) Well done on all aspects and we look forward to stopping in as often as possible.

What a wonderful SURPRISE it was to find Caffe Florian which is located in Kealakekua. Be sure to say "Aloha" to Sabrina (Barista filed with the Aloha Spirit & a Smile that will light up your day!!!) My fave is the Breve Latte (100% Kona Coffee), Breakfast Panini, Bagel with Pesto & Cream Cheese, Haupia-Sweet potato pie, Apple 'n Pecan turnovers AND the Chantilly cup....OH MY GOODNESS IT'S YUMMI'NESS GONE WILD!!! You won't be disappointed...the modern decor is inviting & the customer service along with everything on their menu will have you coming back for more

Second time here; first for breakfast. Food wise, more a two-and-half-star place. Coffee's great; decor nice; outdoor seating cozy; the food pedestrian. Ordered the Rita's Special bagel. Basically tomato slices on a toasted bagel seasoned with salt, pepper and olive oil. Tomatoes were cold and tasteless, more orangey than red, as in not ripe. Never refrigerate tomatoes. However, we didn't go there for the food. Went to "talk story" and linger over a cup of coffee. Almost 20 bucks for two bagels and two coffees. Catching up with a friend? Worth it.
