I had a very rude encounter as well here. I'm seconding Byron's post all the way. My friends and I were visiting Kauai for a few days. We stopped by on the last day to have lunch at Kountry Kitchen, which is next door to Coconut Coast Gifts. Both of these establishments share a parking lot. Lunch was a few minutes away, so we just wanted to poke our heads into the shoe store next door. A older woman (who I'm guessing is an owner) came out and told us if we weren't going to the gift shop or Kountry Kitchen, we HAD to move our car. We explained we were waiting for lunch and just going inside for a few minutes. That didn't matter. So, me and a girl friend went to the shoe store while our bfs went to Kountry Kitchen and get us seats (turns out they had to wait to lunch time to get a seat). We were only a few minutes inside of the shoe store, come out and see an older man (I'm guessing is also an owner) telling our bfs that if they weren't going inside, we had to move. So, we ended up moving our vehicle, only to return a short while later for lunch. The rudeness of these people put us all in a pretty icky mood to be our last day on vacation. We just couldn't believe how rude they were. The kicker is that we returned for lunch (no worries, there was only about half the parking lot still empty) and the older man FOLLOWED US to Kountry Kitchen. I will NEVER NEVER NEVER (if I could type this in bolder caps, I would) shop at this establishment and always recommend that people NOT shop here.

I'm sorry, but the proprietor of this establishment was just plain rude. We pulled into their parking lot so we could purchase hats and my wife could go next door to get shoes. He came out and told us we couldn't park there because my wife was going next door even though we wanted to shop there. We told him we were going to buy something but his logic was completely twisted and incoherrent. He basically turned down $100 worth of business because of some issue with the next door store. Everyone else I've met on Kauai has been fantastic. But this guy was a real piece of work. Take your business elsewhere and support those that want your business.
