It's not bad. But it's not the best I've ever had. Me, my husband, and dad went there last night for dinner and even though they weren't busy at all they took a while to get us our food. I got the ahi lover, my husband got the California maki, and my dad got something I can't remember. They're expensive for what you get but hey it's walking distance from my home. The Cali maki my husband got was amazing. My Ahi lover was ok. The tuna was thin. My dad got thin pieces of fish as well. Sure isn't a bang for your buck but it's convenient. I've had better sushi in Florida where I'm from but hen again it's about the location you get your sushi from. My dad won't come back but I will to kind of satisfy my sushi munchies.

Superman roll is delicious! Stopped by this location for a quick lunch. Highly recommend it.

Got the Superman roll, Ninja pac w/ Poke and spicy inari. All good.

Ninja sushi is the worst sushi place I've ever been. Their salmon maki are made out of tiny piece of hot smoked salmon, cucumber and mayo!

If there was a 0 star, it would be that! The worst customer service. Someone need to train the girl who handles the phone. Their lost a big order because of that!!!

Yes, this place is expensive, but where else can you find a sushi spot so convenient in Kaneohe? I usually go for their tako yaki, and even though I'm half convinced that it's frozen, I still buy it anyway. I'm a tako yaki fanatic and it's hard for me to even find a place on Oahu that sells it. (Beggers can't be choosers, right?) In addition to tako yaki, I try to order a sushi that's a little bit cheaper on the menu, and that normally ends up being futo/inari maki. If I remember correctly, the tako yaki was about $6 ($1/ball), the futo/inari was $4, and the hubby had a spicy ahi salad, about $9. Total, my bill came out to about $20, or in my terms, almost 3 curry houses. (I compare everything I eat to a curry house plate). This is why I only come here once in a blue moon - just to satisfy my sushi craving.

Happy camper here. I always come here if I need a sushi fix in a jiffy. Good fish, super fast and hardly ever super busy! The owner is a super nice guy and always waving to us to say, "Hi!" My husband works in the mall, so it's always nice to stop by to have a quick lunch date before I jet off to pick up the kids from school. The girl taking the order on the weekday is always top notch, knows our order and even excludes any mayo from the orders (if we don't say anything--she remembers). I love it! The favorite roll we often get is the Superman. Spicy ahi, good. Fried potato, good. Sweet, good. Absolute favorite!

Came here after the Spartan run. I ordered the Poke salad. Took it to my car and about halfway in I found white mold on the lettuce. I took it to them and they put more poke moved around the salad, and sprayed the tray with soy sauce. Poke felt a little old too.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! Amazing customer service, great sushi, and has plenty of seating. This place was recently renovated. So this place is very modern just so welcoming! You will enjoy it!

Meh. The closest shopping center to my work and the closest sushi place. Ninja Sushi. I always walk in in a rush and there is usually no one there. Today there was two guys but most of the time its empty. Once I bought the dragon maki which was okay. Not so sure the fish was fresh but the location is in the boonies so what do you expect? I normally order the crunchy maki which is usually decent. One time I ordered it and those tempura flakes were a tad bit stale. I let it slide as I was hungry. I usually go here once a week to pick up lunch. I can't complain as it is super convenient. My main gripe is that it is pretty expensive. I buy some sushi and a drink and I go over 10 bucks. Service is pretty good though.

I've only visited this location once and unfortunately I was not super impressed by the freshness of the fish. I got the Sapporo combo and once I opened it up you could smell the fish. Not a good sign. But I didn't get sick so it couldn't have been that bad, right? The service however was excellent and all of the staff were very friendly.

I LOVE this location. My food is always fresh, tasty and just how I like it. The girl who takes my order is pretty much always on it and friendly. I like their plush couch like seating arrangements and I make a point to eat at this establishment every Sunday, that is how much I absolutely love this place. The tiger maki and shrimp tempura udon are both delicious. I will be back!

I rarely go here for my sushi fix. Since my brother worked at the Ewa Beach location when it first opened, he would always bring home discounted sushi. Without the discount, I always felt it was a little expensive for the amount they serve. The taste is always pretty good but preparation is a bit sloppy. Every single time I ordered from this location, my wasabi portion cup is always sticky. The sauce is visible on the cup. I don't know if its from the person making the sushi, slathering sauce all over my unagi and the container itself (in which case, they should wipe up excess sauce. its not necessary for the container to be dressed)or the cashier grabbing containers with sticky hands. But, its slightly annoying when the first thing you grab is sticky or covered in sauce! :(

I was so disappointed... I brought my friend over here coz I love ninja sushi in Kailua, but they closed down... So I thought the one in Kaneohe would be the same... Anyways, all the sushi we ordered were NOT fresh at all... The Salmon nigiri was in a "yellow-ish" orange color (We've never seen salmon in that color...). We thought they gave us the wrong kinda fish... But they said it was salmon. So we tried it anyways... and it tasted really bad!! And everything else we tried tasted old too... I am not sure if they just dont have fresh fish that day... but I dont think they should serve old fish... it's just sad that they would even sell them to us... I dont think I can go back to them again... So sad...

I want to take all my decorating cues from here. I want cute chibi ninjas in HD quality splitting on my walls, and colorful ninja-star light fixtures, and happy green couches. So I come here to the Kaneohe version of a strip mall (w/ McDonald's and the theater). Ninja is the most appetizing option in the mall. And the Superman is superheroic in taste! There are many intense flavors exploding out of it. $8. I recommend. The salad had way too much dressing with way too little lettuce, but the lettuce was good quality. Tip: Order Spicy Poke instead of Spicy Ahi if you like chunks rather than a banana-mash of spicy tuna. From 7:30-8:30 on a Monday night we were the only customers, but what the heck, the food was tasty and pretty cheap. The rice here is good quality short grain. Watch out for the onions, which aren't the sweetest or softest. And our Volcano Roll was basically a big pile of fake crab topped with a dollop of mashed spicy ahi. Not very tasty or very good in texture (too moooshe). I like it. Will return. All Ninjas and the Kunia Sushi Man are far superior to Genki and Aloha, for the record.

I am a sushi fanatic. I will try any kind of sushi and most likely love it, no matter what's in it.. but the one thing I can't stand in my sushi is wasabi. But don't get me wrong, I love the taste and the heat it brings to all different foods, it's just that I'm allergic to it. (sad, I know) At every sushi place, I make sure there is NO wasabi in the sauce or the sushi itsself so I won't have to deal with doctor visits and Ninja Sushi always makes sure to put wasabi in it somehow no matter how many times I say "NO WASABI". This place has excellent tasting sushi rolls, specifically the superman roll (I know the taste thanks to that one person who actually didn't put wasabi, thank you:) ) But I give it a 2 star, because 8/9 times I went there, I almost died.

Since the windward side (anywhere pass Haiku Rd.) lacks a selection of sushi dining, Ninja is a great place to satisfy the craving. Prices can sometimes increase by surprise and consistency is also hard to come by, they do a great job at making something off the menu. Just a warning, making your special sushi is easy to do, figuring out how much to charge you may be a bit more difficult. If you plan on doing this, just go in it with a open mind and willing to pay a bit more. If you have no choice but to sit inside, be aware that you may leave with a "ninja sushi-smell." I think it's a fried smell. But all this aside, the taste is there, the staff is friendly, and the venue is clean! Oh, just another warning, the music can be a bit LOUD.

I admit we are a little bit snobbish when it comes to sushi coming from southern California. This place was just ok. We had two sushi rolls...the one with spicy tuna was tasty, but another one had some fairly awful tempura shrimp in it. I didn't care for it at all. Can also tell the fish is frozen and not all that fresh. Would not dine here regularly.

    (2)
  • Remee A.

YAYYY!! Ninja sushi has the best spicy ahi. The people that work at the Windward Mall location are very friendly. The portions are always good and the fish always fresh. The owner works in the kitchen so you know that everything will be done right. One of my favorite places for dinner on the windward side!

Poor customer service! I'd give no stars if i could. Never going back there and never recommending Ninja Sushi to any of my family and friends. Whats funny is I never came across any place in kaneohe with such bad attitude! Simple no work if you cant handle giving people 100% GREAT customer service... customers are the only reason why you have a job!!!!!!

I think it's better than Genki in the sense that it has a better selection and taste. Genki is still good for fun groups and lots of food, but at Ninja Sushi, you can pick a sushi platter, or a Udon bowl, or a bento, etc. A little pricey, but hey, that's Japanese food. I would defiantly give it five stars if they served beer.

    (4)
  • Amber W.

The food is overall decent but not spectacular. The shrimp udon was ok. The spicy ahi maki was also tasty but the seaweed a bit too tough. Very nice customer service. Friendly employees. Will be back to try more on the vast menu.

Got Hamachi for take out. Looked forward to a tasty treat but the fish was inedible - it smelled bad and fishy, and certainly was not fresh. Lucky I didn't get sick (didn't eat anything except a small taste to confirm that it was not fresh). I wouldn't buy from here again.

I always get the spicy ahi bowl. Today I got maguro nigiri and my husband got the sakura nigiri bento. Super awesome. Gyoza is not great. Too overdone. Too crispy and chewy. Not busy and great sushi!
