Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Always friendly and staff regularly out to refill water and check on status. We come about twice a month and get very good food. Today was Wor Won Ton Mein and Chicken Foo Yong so delicious!

Went here for lunch buffet. Everything I tried was delicious...and I tried to take a little of everything...but got too full towards the end. So I could have been really happy with just the first half of the buffet. Sweet and sour pork short rib were very tender and had a nice vinegar based sauce. I really enjoyed the veggies in the dishes-soft but not too soft--the beef and broccoli had perfect broccoli. The tea was really nice too and I am not a big tea drinker. They had sesame seed covered mochi balls which had some black beans in the center. There also was some sort of doughnut type item which my mom had tried out. She told the waiter we were all part of the clean plate club. Everyone enjoyed *everything* which usually is rare at a buffet.

This review is for take out and not the dinner buffet. Ordered kau yuk, minute chicken cake noodle, house noodles, and fried wonton which = $50. Kau yuk - Lots and lots of large fat, no taste Minute chicken cake noodle - Noodle hard as rock and boneless chicken which amount equaled 1 and 1/2 deboned chicken thigh House noodles - Noodles very thin like somen noodles, not a very memorable taste Fried wonton - Pi should have been used for soup and not frying as it was as hard as rock and the pork filling was smaller than a pencil eraser. Love the buffet which was a much better deal. Avoid the take out...not worth it.

Jade Palace sets a new standard for good local Chinese food on the Big Island. As another reviewer mentioned, skip the somewhat limited (although tasty) buffet in favor of ordering from the menu, as well as off the menu. Excellent Cantonese and crispy roast duck, crispy roast pork, noodle dishes (ask for the Hong Kong style noodles) and local favorites such as harm ha pork, kau yuk and cold ginger chicken. The service is friendly and helpful and the restaurant itself is clean and inviting, in the style of the typical local "chop suey house."

My wife and I love this place! It has consistently good food at fair prices. Very good hot & sour soup, beef fried rice, mu-shu pork & pot stickers. Wait staff is always attentive and friendly.

Come here all the time! Always consistent with food quality and I have never tasted anything I didn't like. Their salt and pepper chicken is to die for paired with their spicy garlic sauce! Yum!

Had the two person two choice dinner special, with $6 upgrade to have honey walnut shrimp as one choice with beef broccoli as other choice. Both very tasty with the beef surprisingly tender. Would certainly return if in the mood for Chinese. Very clean.

Salty and starchy and sweet for every dish we ordered. I'm guessing they try to model the menu off of Panda Express. None of our 8 person party enjoyed the dishes we got. I would avoid ant 'authentic' Chinese dishes and just get General/Sesame/Orange deep fried variety of food.

We went two nights ago and we got the Jai, Harm Ha pork, wonton noodles and walnut shrimp. We loved every bite of the Jai. My in-laws said it was just like what they had growing up. The Harm Ha was tasty and not too strong. I've had other dishes with Harm Ha before and didn't like it but this one was good. The walnut shrimp is one of my favorites. It was sweet and crunchy. Service was good and friendly. Only complaint I have was that the breading on the shrimp was a bit much. Almost as much breading as shrimp. Other than that, I'd go back again.

My Family of 7 went to dinner to celebrate a birthday, our reservation was at 5:30pm. There were only 2 other tables occupied at the time we sat down. The food was fantastic. We ordered the the egg drop soup which my son truly loved, krispy gau gee, fried eggplant, noodles, orange chicken, beef tomato, shrimp canton, rice and kau yuk. We had hot tea on the table when we first sat down and had to ask for more when we ran out which was ok. The food is very tasty, not oily, and freshly made. We were all very satisified. I would definately go back there again. Little bit pricey but worth it.

Awesome spot with reasonable prices. Great Green Tea and a place we go at least once a week.

I have eaten here several times on trips to the Big Island. On our most recent visit last month, the food was fresh, tasty, and a great value for the price. We opted for takeout, and the food was still delicious 30 minutes later. I'm surprised at the negative reviews, as the service was great (answered lots of questions and allowed substitutions with a smile), and every table in the place was full on a weekday evening. Lots of locals, which is always a good sign.

Jade Palace is one of the better Chinese restaurants. The buffet was reasonably priced and had a large selection. I enjoyed the red steamed pork and the beef broccoli. The jin dui [sic] was very tasty. I would definitely return if I wanted a Chinese sit-down dinner.

Spent $27+ on three entrees. Egg Fuyong, Char siu and Chicken with Egg plant to go. Service was really pleasant, place was very clean and inviting. When I reached home, I opened the containers and was very disappointed. The egg fuyong was just a thin slab of eggs with the fixing thrown in there. Presentation looked like something my 10 year old could cook at home. It wasn't appealing at all. Opened up the char siu and got more disappointed that the pieces were cut thinly (7 pieces) for $9!!! They could have placed that in the same container with the egg fuyong, because there were lots of room! Luckily it was 2 out of 3 and not all of it bad. I will compliment them on their Chicken/ Eggplant. It was so good that I would go back there for just that.

Food was probably a 2, I've definitely had better, but on an island where there seems to be a dearth of reasonably priced restaurants open after 9pm, this place came through, thus the extra star. we were in search of something else, but when we found it was closed, it was either here or the mcdonalds. and voila, chinese food we ate. i wouldn't drive too far to come here, but if you are in a similar situation as we were just in . . . its reliable. and also the waiter was incredibly helpful in telling us good local sights to see on the island, and also very friendly. so the service was good, so that adds to the bump up to 3 stars.

This is one of the best chinese restaurants on the island. Say Hi to Raymond the owner, very friendly and happy to prepare your meal to your specifications. No Worries!!!

Open late was biggest plus for my party too. Reasonable prices for a tasty meal cooked to order: sometimes that's all you really want. For: Chinese, casual dining; food: satisfactory; service: satisfactory.

The food was okay here, but I've definitely eaten better at other Chinese restaurants where the food tasted a little fresher. Fortunately they are still a step up from Panda Express. I would still recommend this place due to the fact that its a buffet style restaurant in Kamuela and the price is right. One of the reasons I gave a 2 star is because of their AC, definitely could use a upgrade in equipment and room insulation.

Amazing food. The chef was very friendly and served up a winning collection of dishes. We started with the chicken larb. The portion was very generous. And unlike many places, there was a generous helping of lettuce to scoop it up. :). We also ordered the Tom Yum. It was good. But, I wouldn't mind a bigger serving. But was full of lemongrass and kaffir lime leaves. As usual, we orders the panang currie. It was mouthwatering goodness. It was full of veggies and chicken. If we come back to Hilo, we'll definitely eat here again.

The service was friendly. The food was pretty bad. I'd give it one star except most Chinese places on island are actually even worse.

They are the only restaurant in the row of restaurants that is currently open past 2:30. Food is really good! Orange chicken is a little different, but good. ... try it! I think you'll like it! I will recommend this place to my friends. Good decor. Nice tables with glass and table cloths.

Out-of-towners looking for good food after paying more than we should at the Hilton resort. Jade Palace service was outstanding though based on the owner knowing most of the other customers by name, this was definitely a local's place. Regardless, service was very good and our items exceeded expectations. Wasn't the best Chinese I ever had but it was very good, nice flavors, and reasonably priced. Worth the drive up from the Hilton Village.

Overall pretty good; the service was good and the food was too. It's not the best Chinese I have hard or the worst. The buffet was small but the food come out quick and was plenty for two. I would done here again. My favorite dish is the orange chicken !!

Speedy service, very speedy. The food was good, better than places I've been to previously such as L&L, Panda Express, and Chinese BBQ. My boyfriend and I ordered from the Dinner Special menu and I really can't complain about the pricing. He ordered the orange chicken and I the lemon chicken, oh yes we got crazy with chicken. We also got the egg drop soup, crab rangoon and spring rolls, along with some tea. The restaurant was barely even half full and our server was whipping out the plates, which had we been in a rush to get out of there would have been fine, but we weren't. This makes me wonder how they do on very busy nights.
