Stopped this store while we were in Waimea. Great selection of health foods and small take-out counter. We bought a sprout salad and a veggie sandwich. Ate it right outside under the eaves in a small outdoor seating area. the salad was delicious and filling. The sandwich was also good. Prices were about par with other health food stores. I would definitely return next time I visit Waimea.

Thank goodness this place is here! I come here all the time when staying with Ohana in Waimea. They have a way better selection of organic and healthy foods than KTA or Foodland. It's not the same as my health food stores in the mainland, and it's quite pricey. But again, I do appreciate having the selection. It's better to stock up because you get a discount if you spend more than $50. Also, rebate if you bring your own bag.

We drove from Hilo to Kona and took Highway 19. After driving around the coast and passed the waterfalls we came onto the part where we cross the island and there was Waimea. It is a cute town with lots of shops, gas, etc. We passed the grocery stores and found Healthways. It has a great stock of organic and vegetarian food. I saw lots of products and items that I buy from Trader Joe's and Whole Foods on the mainland. We came to get water, and they had smart water, vitamin water, and just plain ole water. Prices were reasonable. They also have fresh produce and a deli where they make sandwiches and salads. The store itself is sort of old, but well-stocked and the staff was friendly.

While visiting our ohana in Waimea we decided to do some grocery shopping at Healthways II. The store was stocked with many items we enjoy, including local and non gmo produce. But our shopping experience went from good to bad when we discovered that our bank account was charged twice for our purchases. This happened when the clerk had us re swipe our debit card and pin# claiming the first swipe did not process and the machine was running slow. When I called Healthways II to inform them of this situation, I was treated very rudely and eventually called back saying they could not find the error. I went to my bank with my receipt and my bank also had a copy of the duplicate charge that was within seconds of each other, my bank rep called them as well, she was also spoken to with extreme defense, was unable to get a word in until she asked them if she could speak and not get interrupted. A very annoying situation that could be easily cleared up by Healthways II examining the receipt log for that day, or even avoided if they had a system that doesn't allow for exact duplicate purchases back to back (many merchants have this system for this reason). This matter is still unsettled and being disputed. I understand mistakes happen but being treated rudely for an error on their part is not necessary ....I would suggest using cash and not debit at this merchant.

Located in the Parker Ranch Center, Healthways II is a health shop similar to Down to Earth on Oahu. Small store stocked with healthy alternatives, they also have a sandwich and salad shop. When I'm feeling like a salad, I make my way here. Today I had a tuna wrap. Wrapped in what i think is a spinach tortilla, the wrap had a hearty serving of tuna, sprouts, with some tomato and greens. It was tasty and satisfying. Don't pass up on their salads too, which comes in mock chicken, tofu, bean sprouts, and tuna to name a few.
