The pizza isn't good, the service is bad, and the atmosphere is crummy. Additionally, I've heard lots of horror stories about the owners. You'd be MUCH better off going to Bob's Pizza down near Kailua Beach.

Pizza seemed like it went down big time in quality. Hardly any toppings and crust took up about a quarter of the pizza. But what's worse is the customer service. I almost felt like walking away when the owner? (older, balding guy) asked me harshly "waddya want" and looked irritated when I wasn't ready to order. I had just walked in! When my pizza was ready he threw it on the counter without saying anything or acknowledging that it was my order. He was also rude with other customers and with phone customers. What made me laugh was the fact that on his door, he had a poster saying "it takes months to find a customer and only a second to lose one." He should read that more often.

Boston's pizzeria is the original restaurant opened by two owners a while back. After an argument the two split. Bob (one of the owners) got a very raw deal and instead of sulking opened Bob;s pizzeria on the road to Lanikai. Honestly, Bostons aint bad but it also aint Bobs which makes a far superior product at a lower price..... only go here when Bob's is closed cuz the pizza here is pretty tasteless and really really overpriced.

Best pizza of all the Bostons stores and really the only pizza i eat on the whole island. Staff knows exactly what theyre doing.

Pizza is great. Price is steep but that's Hawaii for you. The Boston special is excellent if you're a meat eater and otherwise the veggie slices are spectacular.

Its good. I went to Bob's once and it was crap-tasting. Always go to Bostons. Slices are big, pizza is NY style, you can fold a piece of pie and shove it in your mouth as pizza was intended to be eaten. I used to always go to the chain restaurants until I went to Bobs once. All of their flavors are good but the spinach/garlic is by far the best kine.

We had this after seeing the pizza through the window while parking on the street to go to a different restaurant. We came back the next day to get some for lunch and it was excellent!

Best Pizza in Kailua by far. Always friendly employees. Get a pitcher of soda it always comes out the better deal. We always come here! Aurite!

Best NY style pizza in Kaliua, hands down. We love this place.

My husband and I stopped by here after a long day of hiking. This pizza was amazing & the slices are HUGE! You can literally get full off of one slice. The staff was friendly and this place was pretty easy to find! We will definitely be back!

Called again tonight, hoping that since its been a couple months, things might have changed. Sadly, nothing has. I called and a cheery girl answered the phone like it was her house and didn't even say the name of the establishment because I had to clarify. I asked her about specials and she said "What do you mean specials" and I said "do you have any take out specials" she says "well we have our calzone but its sold out" and then i say "okay, do you have any other ones" and she says "I guess our pizza is a special" so I say "what is on your special pizza" and she shouts to her co workers to ask..............why doesn't she know and why doesn't anyone else in the back know? Sorry bostons kailua, i'm going to take my business to Kaneohe instead tonight and every day for the rest of my life. Yes, 3x the distance but better customer service and awesome food.

The pizza was a bit dry, perhaps because it had been sitting out. The sauce was good but it could've used a lottle more of it and more cheese. The crust was very good. Service was friendly, plus they offer military discounts. Not the best Boston's on the island but I would return.

Hands down, the best pizza I have ever had in my life. Need I say more? Not really, but I will anyway. Being a Bostonian and lifelong resident of the Fertile Cresent of Pizza between New York and Boston, I have had my fair share of everything from Sicilian to Greek to Chicago Deep Dish to zany New Age pizza pies. Who would have thought that I would fly almost 6,000 miles to happen upon this trove of flavor? It reminded me of home with all the New England Patriots, Boston Red Sox, Boston Bruins, and Boston Celtics paraphernalia but the decor is as far as that extended. This pizza was nothing like what I have at home; it was leaps and bounds better in every way. The pizzas are huge, they are bursting with flavor, and the dough is delicious. It's a triple threat that I've yet to meet let alone beat anywhere else. I hear so-so stories about the delivery. Let me tell you: it's worth the drive. Do yourself a favor, even if you're not a Boston or New England sports fan, TRY THIS PLACE.

In my opinion, this pizza is the only one that truly is pizza. It's the best! And the only place I consider going for pizza. My favorite is cheese pizza. Veggies belong in a salad.

  • Kate D.

Okay, this was probably the best pizza I've ever tasted, and I'm from the bay area where there is no shortage of beloved pizzarias (I'm looking at you, lanesplitters...) So flavorful and fresh and just generally kick ass pizza. A beer selection would be nice, but hey, I was happy with a Hawaiian sun. Not much in the way of ambiance, so order out or sit outside on the picnic benches. I believe they also deliver.

So far I think it's the best I've had out here. I haven't been to too many places yet but, so far... I still don't get why all the places here have "Boston Pizza." I'm from the east coast and never heard of Boston's pizza and didn't know it was something to boast about... Do they serve double sized slices only there too? Anyway, it's the first pizza place I've walked into so far out here and it smelled like a pizza place. All the other places so far, I've realized, don't smell like anything really. We got the Calzone with spinach, garlic and something, a slice with sausage and pepperoni and a slice with pepperoni, mushrooms and black olives. These slices were more savory and had a little more substance then some other places here. The crust was slightly crispier but still soft on top and had a little flavor instead of just being bland dough. The calzone was pretty good too but lacked ricotta which is kinda a calzone staple.

Ate there 3times I love it great pie! Wish I had one on the big island!

All I have to say...YES! Do not go anywhere else for pizza on this island. This is the closest to Jersey pizza I've experienced and it is phenomenal. And when I say huge pizza pies I mean HUGE! The toppings are fresh and the dough isn't flat or burnt. It has a nice fluffy texture for the ends and piled with amazing toppings in the middle. The wings were pretty good and the pie did cost about $25 for a large but it was seriosuly the largest pizza you'll ever eat. Was very impressed and satisfied.

  • Matt B.

Let me first start off by saying I hate the New England Patriots and nothing good really comes out of Boston, but there are exceptions to every rule. It's strange that Boston pizza is more popular than New York pizza out here. Everyone and their mother knows that New York pizza is the most superior pizza in the world, with Jersey coming in a close second and Chicago behind Jersey. But I digress. My wife, my friend and me ordered a large veggie pizza with chicken and an order of chicken wings. The wings weren't bad, but could have used a little more sauce. The toppings on the pie were plentiful, but the trick to good pizza is keeping the dough strong on the bottom and crunchy throughout. Soggy pizza isn't cool and harder to eat the next day. A thicker dough may have prevented the sogginess, along with a more cooked bottom. I'm not a doctor, but I have made my fair share of frozen pizza in the oven. The portion sizes were fantastic and we saved the rest for breakfast/hangover food the next morning.

This bakery serves pizza by slice. They have the pizzas ready to serve in the counter, you just pick which ever pizza you want and they will heat it up for you. We ordered 4 slices of spinach garlic pizza. Taste was ok, nothing great. Cost- $ 16 - 20. There are better places to check out buddies!

  • Josh J.

Best pizza on the island! It's so good I had to stop going so much because I was gaining weight...seriously. If you're in Kailua and want amazing pizza with big portions for a low price, this is the place you want to be.

  • Courtney Y.

Boston's. Oh, Boston's. What can I say about you? Your pizza slices are huge, and I appreciate the fact that when you order one "slice", it is about the size of a fourth of the ENTIRE pizza. Mama mia, eesa me, MARIOOOOO. Sorry, felt that was appropriate. Also, the one slice you order, is actually sliced up. Ah, the illusion! Such wizardry. I ordered the garlic, tomato, and spinach pizza. Talk about amazing. I always wonder how they pull off such a great pizza without the tomato sauce. No pizza sauce here, guys. Still great pizza that doesn't make you feel overly greased out (Pizza Hut) or piggy status. Plus, it helps that they did not hold back on the garlic chunks. Yummy. I was a walking garlic upon walking out of the place. Sucks for the people I was hanging out with after, ha. Environment wise, the place was not ac-ed, but there were fans, and lots of TV monitors on different stations, so if you planned on blanking out and not paying attention to your company, there are many tvs of which are showing different things. The person working there was friendly. Casual/laid back place, good eats, and big portions. Because, isn't that what Hawaii is all about?

  • RB19971 R.

It is a huge, 3 lb thin to medium crust pizza. Love the flavors, love the service and like the casual no fuss diner atmosphere. It's the kind of place that coming straight from the beach, covered in sand, is expected. The girls in the store rock! They are friendly, knowledgable and always happy!

    (5)
  • Yoselyn F.

So this is not Boston's from the south side of the island which is a bit confusing BUT the slices and toppings were still huge and fresh. The location is convenient for after beach snacking. The staff was friendly. The outdoor seating was cozy. I love how they keep the pigeons away and everything wiped down....

    (3)
  • Michael N.

Mammoth-sized pizza! I just had my first taste of Boston's pizza and I'm sure it won't be my last. The pizza's are huge, the ingredients are fresh, tasty, and amply applied. A fair warning - the slices themselves are HUGE - a 19" pizza cut into eight colossal slices. We had a large group to feed so they kindly cut the pizza again so we could have 16 slices a pizza. The staff was great, the pizza was phenomenal, and they offer a great military discount - $5 off per pizza!

    (5)
  • Greg T.

Friendly sweet people work there. Pizza is not so good ( Pizza Hut quality). Even Costco pizza tastes better. This place is simply triple overpriced! The owner doesn't know her limits. She asked inappropriate questions. This place has nothing to do with Real Boston pizza. I regret I wasted time driving there to throw away most of 30$ pizza.

    (2)
  • Peter A.

I got there at 7:43pm. I asked if they were open. The guy said all they had were pieces stacked on top of each other on the counter. I asked if they were still making pizza and he said No. The sign said they were open until 8:00. You're not the only "GAME" in town. Better customer service would be nice.

  • Will F.

I'm from the New York area. I grew up eating real pizza, not that fake chain store crap. Being so far from the northeast you can not find a good pie. i thought i had to wait until i visited my parents to get a good slice. Finding Boston's has been a god send. They just get it right . Warning though once you try it you'll never go back to chain pizza shops . One down side is all the Patriots and Red Sox stuff on the wall, but I can look past that. The pizza is that good. Keep it up guys and you'll be seeing a lot of me.

No matter which location I'm at, it's consistently amazing. Jalapeño special is still my favorite!

    (5)
  • Jenn G.

It took a while for the pizza to come out. Tasted decent once it arrived. We ordered three full pies. The Special, the Veggie, and a 4 topping pizza pie with pepperoni, sausage, jalapenos, and garlic. The last one there was the best. BYOB is nice! I wish you could push the outdoor tables together. Parking sucks.

How the eff is this place still in business? And whats up with all the good reviews this place gets?? Jesus people be serious. The pizza here blows chunks out of satan's butt! I've eaten the pizza from Boston's in the past and it sucked, I just recently had it again and it still sucks. At least there on it with the suckage consistency. Better off eating a frozen tostino's low grade pizza than suffer another bite of the garbage they serve up here. Not only does the pizza kick rocks but the prices are ridiculous. A plain cheese pizza is $20.95! Omfg get a grip Boston's! How much for the cardboard box that you serve your crappy pizza in? Cause I'd much rather eat that instead. The only plus to this place is that they participate in fundraising for kids sports. My nephew's all play sports and they were fundraising boston's pizza. Not a single person in my family likes this pizza but we gotta support the kiddie's right? I feel like I "took one for the team" when i ate it. It is the grenade of all pizza's that I've tried. I'd compare it to one of the ugglinz that Mike the situation would bring back to the house and bone. It may be big but I'd take quality over quantity any day. The service here is not the greatest either. The girl who took my order over the phone (Cheryl) was really nice but the bonehead that serviced me when i got there to pick it up was a twit. I get there and he asked for the name the pizza was under so i give it to him. He starts rummaging through the stack of order's and he cant seem to find our pizza? Take in consideration that they quoted me on the time frame in which it would be ready for pick up. They said 20 mins and it'd be ready. Well I gave them about 33 and I shouldnt have. He found the pizza a few mins later...Burning in the oven! lmao nice. He starts yelling at the girl Cheryl (that's how I knew her name). God Damn it Cheryl! Why didnt you tell me there was a pizza still in the oven! It's all your fault Cheryl! See now look ,it's burnt! He's yelling at her in front of me like it's proper to do so in front of customer's. I was trippin out like omg guy wtf. Cheryl told him that she takes the order but he's the one who baked it. What a moron this guy was. He's the idiot who put it in the oven,It's not like they were hella busy that he couldnt check on it. Poor Cheryl i feel for her, If I had to work with this guy he'd be a sad puppy. I'd neuter him the first day. So after yelling at her, he throws the burnt pizza on the table and walks over to me and tells me I'm sorry your pizza got kinda burnt. Kinda was underated. I glanced at it and it was chalky black. uhhmm slightly burnt eh? He comes up with a "quick fix " solution. He tells me that he has a cheese pizza already cooked, just came out of the oven a few mins ago. He's just gonna add more cheese and put all the toppings we wanted on the cheese pizza then bake it for a few mins and everything should be good. Well he did like he said and the pizza came out looking like Helen Keller made it and tasted like Oscar the grouch pulled it out of his house. Worst Pizza ever. There's roundtable pizza like 2 miles from this place and dominoes and pizza hut right down the street. This place is Yucksville!

The pizza was great. We had four different slices and everyone was pleased and full after. My kids even ate the crust and they never do that! As a bonus they had the Seahawks game on!

Had dinner here the evening of 4/6. Spinach and garlic pizza with sliced tomato as an extra topping. Kind of pricey even though the pizza is HUGE!

  • Harry S.

Let's cut to the chase: what you get is a lot of pretty good pizza for a pretty reasonable price. If you choose to pay attention to the inside of the restaurant that appears to be a waiting room for a euthanasia clinic and the fact that the pizza is good but not mouthwateringly delicious then you might not view Boston so favorably. Be careful about ordering slices because the reheating process seems to crisp them a bit in a somewhat unpleasant manner. The cheese pizza is pretty good though.

  • Chris K.

Huge slices of hand tossed pizza. If I'm having any pizza, it's from this place! Note: Be careful where you park, you will be towed if you park across the street at the store on the corner!

  • Marisela B.

This is by far my favorite pizza place. Great flavors, relaxed ambiance, super friendly staff. My family and I will choose this place over any other restaurants. It's simply the best!! Ohh and military get's $5 off a whole pizza!

  • K B.

I always enjoy coming to this simple place for their tasty pies. Giant pizzas and nice choice of toppings. What stands out here the most is their counter staff, who are very friendly and efficient. Mahalo!

  • Geoff D.

Hmm... afraid I disagreed with the yelpers before me on this one. I bought four large pizzas here the other week and found the result both very hard to chew (you know, that thick chewy type crust) and rather flavorless in the sauce department. Even my little kids, who will eat pizza 3 meals a day if given the chance, stopped eating early and were not interested in the leftovers the next day. Probably a fine or even good option for slices on the go.

  • Amy K.

Bostons is typically a good pizza joint to go to...I can agree with some people on their reviews and others not so much. Service was quick, friendly and they gave us the slices nice and hot! They sell them in quarter cuts, so they are BIG servings! I absolutely LOVED the garlic, spinach and tomato pizza. BF had the pepperoni, mushmroom and black olives pizza. It was okay, kind of bland. Mine was a lot better :) and I let him know that many times :) The only thing that seemed weird was that it closes kind of early for a pizza place on the weekends. I guess they don't want business from the crawlers at the Pub at 12am? I guess this pizzeria isn't a believer in late night drunken eats! Satisfactory food though, will be back!

    (4)
  • Kayla W.

I'm a big fan of this pizza. The slices are huge, each one is a quarter of the large pie. And they always (well almost always) have plenty of choices by the slice. It's nice to drop by any time and buy a slice. Prices are reasonable too. I didn't give them five stars for two reasons. 1) They close WAY too early. Maybe 8 p.m., what's that? Don't even bother trying to go anywhere near closing though, there's never any pizza left! 2)The service isn't great. It's actually not even good. More often than not the people behind the counter seem annoyed that you are there bothering them, forcing them to heat your slice. Where's the aloha Boston?

    (4)
  • Mo W.

Had the Spinach garlic mushroom pizza slice it was soo huge & yummie. Next time I'm trying the carbonara pizza...wasn't ready at noon.

Great pizza. Recommend the garlic an spinach. Also 5$ off military discount!

  • Anthony A.

I will certainly not be going back to this place. It might be one of the best in the area (according to yelpers), but that does not make it good. 1. Sauce had no flavor. 2. Cheese was low quality. 3. Dough was a weird texture and bland. On the upside the portions are huge and fairly cheap, so if you are just looking to fill up quick on bland food... go for it. I'll have to give Bob's a shot, hopefully there is some decent pizza on the windward side.

Basically sub-par pizza (very oily, all the varieties taste the same) in a depressing location. Really, the place is a bit dirty, the staff appear to be bored and uninspired. There are better pizzas and better places to eat them in Kailua than this.

Born and raised in NY pizza is a very important item in my food group. I must say the pizza here was good. Large slices so only order one. Would recommend.

  • C O.

Terrible service, and equally terrible cardboard pizza. This, like most Boston's in Hawaii, is a poor excuse for pizza. You can do much better in Kailua by driving to Prima a few blocks away, and getting quality food. If you want NY style (there is no such thing as Boston style) then drive to Bob's by the beach and pick up a great pizza.

    (2)
  • Chuco T.

Default pizza stop in Kailua. Whether its just hanging out in Kailua town, or spending the day at the beach, Bostons Kailua always hits the spot. Sure, there are other pizza places in Kailua, some even closer to the beach (like Bob's), but Bostons never disappoints. Huge slices, a nice sauce, great crust, and so many topping combinations. I will take Bostons over any pizza hut/domino's/etc any day. I mean, hell, you order a "slice", and you get a quarter of a pizza for a few bucks. Need i say more? Oh, and if you like a meaty slice, definitely try the "Big Papi". Trust me!

    (4)
  • Kalai F.

DO NOT EAT HERE! This place is getting worse by the second! I know times are hard but come on! If you like a four inch crust on some of you slices then this is the place for you. Crud in every part of the store makes me wonder how they pass inspection. We actually went here because we were going next door to peppino's to eat but they were closed. Haven't been in a while so we thought we could pick up a pizza here. What a mistake! Customer service always sucked here. Don't know if they are all in the same family but they surely all seem to come from A-holeville. Save your money this place ain't worth it!

This is by far the BEST on the Island. DO NOT confuse with Bob's Boston Pizza, which is the Worst.

I've had this pizza many times over three years. It's always been great, good quality pizza.

  • Randall S.

My favorite pizzeria in Kailua. I've been coming to this side of Oahu to vacation for years now, and generally speaking, Boston's is the first food establishment I visit upon arrival. Hot and fresh pizza, by the slice, on demand. Nothing fancy about the place; it's decor is mainly plastic laminate counters, tile flooring, a glass display case to house the pre-made pizzas (in various toppings) ready to be sold by the slice, and plenty of Boston sports memorabilia, such as the huge FatHead applique of Number 12 himself, New England Patriot Tom Brady, seen directing his offense behind the counter, as well as numerous Boston Red Sox posters hung up throughout the pizzeria. As an ex-Rhode Islander myself, I can say that this little pizza joint might very well feel at home on Hanover Street in the North End of Boston. Pretty sure just about any other New Englander would feel at home as well at this no frills pizzeria in paradise. About their pizza: All I can vouch for are two varieties: plain cheese and cheese and mushroom. Both were delicious, each possessing that proper crustiness/chewyness to the crust with right mix of cheese to tomato sauce ratio. A slice of plain cheese (in reality a quarter of a whole 19" pizza sliced in two), at last check (12/1/11) cost $5.25; that's with tax included. I can usually make two meals or snacks out of one "slice". Considering the cost of everything out this way (just paid $4 something for a loaf of Love's Bakery bread), Boston's pizza is a decent deal.

"love the pesto pizza. good thin crust pizzas! fairly cheap too"

Great pizza. I'm from Boston, and this reminds me of some of the great pizza I am used to. My favorite is the Pepperoni, Mushroom, and black olive, as well as the spinach, garlic and tomato. Huge slices... comfort food.

Great pizza with huge portions! The atmosphere is so cool, just layed back and friendly. The cook can get a little bitchy though. We ordered anchovies and I heard him in the back ground call us fish freaks! Oh well if the shoe fits eat it! Great place though!

  • C. W.

I should preface this by saying it has been well over 2 years since I ate here, and I will never go back, and they could have improved since then. I was on a motorcycle ride, and my friend wanted to stop for a bite, and she wanted to check the place out, and said it would remind me of Boston food, which I love. We ditched our helmets and leathers for a bench in the sun .... I let her choose, and she ordered a garlic and spinach and a mushroom and something ... I could not believe how meager these 2 pizzas were. Both were extremely thin (wafer thin) and dry, had little taste, certainly were not a real meal, and were absolutely the two worst pizzas I have ever eaten, worse than 2 hour-old Dominos. Had I been alone, I would probably have gone back to the counter and said "Is that all there is?!!" A very thin layer of wilted spinach leaves and underdone garlic chunks with some bland non-descript sauce on a very thin, chewy, odd dough does not make much of a lunch. Ugg.. What a rip. I can make much better at home. Compared to a generic Pizza Hut, both were far less satisfying than the little personal pan pizzas at 3x the price. I felt like I was ripped off. Okay, maybe we ordered the wrong ones, maybe I should have spoken to the manager, but the ingredients seemed cheap, and I felt there was no excuse for serving something like this for those prices. Suggest if you go, you watch what is coming out (we didn't), and what people are getting. If you have a taste for spinach in pizza, try the spinach and broccoli stuffed pizza at Sbarro's, which will have 10 times the food, flavor, cheese, and nutrition in a single slice than 2 pizzas at BNE, and at a fraction of the price. Again, this was only from a single visit, when I get food that bad, I never go back.

You walk in and the guys behind the counter are tossing the dough. You chat about the surf and life, order a slice of pizza the size of your torso, you eat, you smile in happiness at the amount of fullness you can experience.
