For -$5 I had 2eggs ham and rice...it was hot and good. I left full. My hubby had the -$6 aloha breakfast: (1egg, 2 sausage links, 2 large pancakes) I ate some of his pancakes...they were SUPER. The only other place that I've had pancakes so good is Debbie's Restaurant in Paradise Ca. For breakfast I give them thumbs up on taste and filling me up. Later I'll try lunch, maybe.

Don't let the bad average rating fool you! At the time of writing this, there were exactly 2 reviews and they were both 3 stars. I think this is more of a 4 star, but I'm rating at 5 because I want to pull the average UP to four. We stopped here on the way to the airport after hitting Mrs. Barry's Kona Cookies. Not expecting much except a cheap meal. I got the fried ono, which was more like fried oh-yes! I got a plate stacked with fish, rice, and macaroni salad. After eating the fish, I didn't have any room left for anything else. And it was really good fried fish! If you're a fan of Talotta's in Carnegie, Pittsburgh -- look out! This place is close on their heels.

Went for the Hawaiian food, sil said it was good. How can local plate be good if it's being cooked by HKers? Maybe go for the Chinese, but don't call it Hawaiian BBQ cuz it ain't.

The worst food I have had on this Island. Had seafood mein. Seafood was over cooked and tasted horrible. Sign says Korean Hawaiian BBQ.....NOT

Chinese/lunch plate on the upper road to Costco. I had the Salt and Pepper Fish which was really good. Cooked right, big serving and a good bite to the S&P sauce.

this place was terrible. did not investigate beforehand figuring how bad can you mess up chinese food? needed a quick bite to eat after landing at the airport and put in "food" in the gps and here is where we ended up. had the generals chicken....which had like canned gravy over the top.....thick thick gelatin-like. Nasty. GF had sweet/sour chicken and once again, had BRIGHT THICK pink gelatin pink gravy drooped all over it as well. looked as if a drunk college kid had put this meal together. totally nasty. staff (woman at the register) had the personality of a rock. would NOT recommend this place....ever.

Good local Chinese food for Kona. Taste will be similar to other local places (Royal Jade, Hong Kong Chop Suey, etc). Really fast food for those in a rush. The counter will always have fried rice (or steamed) and noodles for your starch. Then you can choose one two or three items to complete the plate. For a not so rushed meal there is a menu. Standard local Chinese favorites, of course including saimin and even the ever so present (seems almost everywhere here has it) "hamburger deluxe", for people who maybe not into Chinese food but are dragged here with others. It's not the best Chinese, not the most authentic, but you could do much worse. The restaurant is clean, the people always friendly, and location (if you are already near Old Industrial) and price are good.

Who in their right mind would rate this filthy shack 5 stars? They only get one star because the fish was tasty in the Fish and Chips. Pros: Fish and Chips, though very oily, was tasty. Cons: Dirty, dirtier and dirtiest. My wife ordered a burger that had to be the worst I have EVER seen. It looked like it had been fried up days before and reheated in the microwave. Dry and shriveled. It covered about 60% of the bun, which was so hard it made a clunking sound when I hit the table with it. Horrible and inexcusable. When I got up to take our trash to the bin (which made me appear to be going to the order counter) the young lady behind the counter visibly fled to the back. no one ever appeared again before we left. I can only assume in shame. My wife had to use the restroom and was promptly locked IN and was forced to call for help to get out. "Oh, the lock is broken...sorry". Good grief. Before dissing my review because I didn't order their "special Chinese items", remember that no restaurant should serve food it is not proud of. If they can't make it appealing they should not sell it. Conclusion: HIGH RISK. We definitely got the sense of "go ahead and give them the old crap, they're tourists and we'll never see them again.

This place looks like a scary strip mall diner, but the salt and pepper fish and chips were Totally Awesome. We stopped here since it was close to the airport. Only locals eating there while we were there.

The food was very good. Love the rice and the Singapore Noodles. I thought I heard a couple months ago that it was under new management. It has different people working and the menus are different from the many time I've been here before.

For the price, this place is A-OK. I had the Loco Moco; I was not a fan of the thin onion gravy they used, it gave the hamburger a weird taste. The Macaroni salad they served with it though is really outstanding though.

I came in today and ordered chicken katsu. I got a pretty generous portion and everything tasted pretty good. The macaroni salad was a bit too creamy, but overall I would say it was a solid meal. It's nothing that will blow your mind, but at least you get your money's worth.

Disgusting place, bugs on the walls, food was nasty. I wouldn't let my dog eat food from this place.

Dropped in for lunch before exploring the Kaloko Honokohau Nat'l Hist.Park nearby. I had the fish and chips, and it was very good - quite fresh, tasty fish, not just batter fried but also with special spices and a garnish (with macadamia nuts, perhaps?) Served with fries. Not a fancy place, but clean and straightforward Hawaiian plate lunch style restaurant. It looks like the menu offers a wide array of mixed options. The outside sign says "Chinese | Hawaiian | BBQ". I think you could have a lot of variety here and be quite content.

It's a diner so the four stars are in comparison to other diners. The food was tasty. Portions were more than enough (two hash browns and 5 link sausage) especially for the low price of $4.95. Service was great the girl at the counter was super nice! On the down side, toast was cold and not really toasted and the coffee was not good. That being said, I'll go back again. Next time I'm trying the saimin.

I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the food served here. Check out the steamed fish and rice with scallon and ginger done Chinese style!

I'll give it two stars since they are usually really quick. However, this morning it took 28 minutes for bacon and eggs.
