Sushiman is a quick place to grab some sushi. Spicy ahi hand rolls are my favorite ones to grab. I've never had to wait more than. 5 minutes on these. My only complaint with some of my rolls was they didn't stay together well. I can't complain though because this place is faster than a Taco Bell.

The sushi rolls are filled with seafood more than rice and I Love that. But seeing the reviews how good this place is I feel like the rolls I had lacked taste. I will try it again though. Maybe it was just an off day.

I love avocado rolls but when u order it without cucumber all you get is a thin smear of avocado. The staff are friendly

Solid 2 stars!!!! Well, Hawaii sushi "2 stars". If it was on the mainland, then it would be at least three stars due to the quality. But, here in the middle of the pacific ocean, it only gets two stars. Presentation, presentation, presentation. No presentation. It wasn't completely thrown together, but it wasn't put together well either. My rainbow roll was just on this side of falling apart. Customer service? They didn't even give me a tray for eating there. The main difference between getting your food to go, and dining in, seems to be that you actually get something with which to carry your food if you are going outside. Ah well, at least the food tasted good.

In the mood for vegetarian sushi after a strenuous hike, I stopped by Sushiman after getting my post-hike pineapple slush from the nearby Bee's Dessert House. The maki and hand rolls seem reasonably priced. I ordered the avocado maki, cucumber maki, daikon maki, pickled radish maki, and natto roll. My impressions: skimping on the seaweed (barely making the circumference of the maki), light on the natto (much much more rice compared to the natto), skimping on the avocado with the addition of cucumber. Given all that, still satisfying and convenient. Though I'm not a sushi connoisseur, I know I prefer Ninja Sushi, Sushi Spot, or YuZu. Just wanted to try someplace different. Dear Sushi Man, I avoided your restaurant for several years, assuming it would be awful. How wrong I was. My husband had to force me to bite his spicy veggie roll to make me a believer. And boy do I believe. I hate it when he's right. Spicy veggie roll? You mean, spicy roll of heavenly bliss? Cause that's what it is. So good. You have ruined me for every other veggie roll on the island. I also greatly enjoy your natto roll. You should offer a natto-kimchee roll. I would purchase at least one every week. Nothing like a little incentive to sweeten the pot, eh? Some weeks I may even purchase TWO. I've also had your Cali roll, which was splendid, but haven't tried anything else. I can't eat something else and still have room for a spice veggie roll AND a natto roll (hopefully soon to be natto-kimchee roll). You see my dilemma. Anyhow. Love you. Will see you later today. Yours, Angela

This is our second time at the Ranch Market Food court in two days!... my girls love it here, but it is a little expensive (kawaii = price markup). My girls scarf down their cute KC bento, which consists of 3 spam nigiri = 1 slice of spam, 1 egg nigiri, 1 ebi tempura, and 1 Inari (cone sushi) plus I order them a side of edamame (to feel a little healthy). My oldest would probably eat two bentos, if I let her have that much spam and fried shrimp, AND if it wouldn't cost me over $16 for just her meal. They love this bento, they wish mommy would make this bento for them for school lunch... Quality of food is consistent, except tonight hubby found some plastic wrap in his chicken hand roll. He kept chewing and gnawing... finally realizing it wasn't edible. :0) With that said, we will probably be back next week - Especially since they started taking credit cards!

Good but expensive! For 3 small nigiri sushi I paid $5! I was expecting it to be a little bigger for that price. I don't think I'll be back here for again. I'm better off buying a poke plate (volcano) at Ivy cafe couple stores down... More for my buck!

Q: What kind of kid craves sushi? A: A little Yelp foodie baby! My baby Isabel is two and she is OBSESSED with eating sushi. Or as she likes to call it: "Shooooooshi!" So during our weekly trip to 99 Moanalua I decided to feed the beast, errr I mean baby, some shooshi. I figure it's reasonably healthy and I'll do anything to stop her from wanting to leave her stroller seat. Like many take-out sushi spots, Sushiman has the standard menu and we ordered spicy ahi hand rolls, ebi nigiri, shinko and cucumber maki. Our order came out faster than you can say "Jimminy Cricket!" And by the time we got to the car baby Isabel was victoriously screaming "SHOOOOOOOOOSHI!!!" Thanks Sushiman for making my life 20% easier and I'll be back to visit you again very soon.

Good dynamite maki sushi for the price. Quick service and conveniently located in 99 Ranch Market in Mapunapuna.

The only sushi option at 99 ranch. I've tried the nigiri bento and some of the rolls which are pretty good but the only thing I ever get here now is the CRUNCHY DONBURI! Oh my it's super yummy, spicy ahi with a nice texture and pieces of tempura onion with a delicious sauce! Always a perfect serving amount and always satisfied.

I always love coming here for 1 thing - the poke ahi don bowl. I love that it has a light hint of sesame oil at the bottom of the bowl and plenty of rice and ahi to fill you up. It's quick service but be sure to bring cash as it's cash only. The prices are just about on par with Kozo sushi so you wont break the bank too much and it's one of the healthier choices in the food court. It's tucked away in the corner right next to Sumo Ramen. I love that they don't try to hard to make all these fancy fusion rolls that are the latest trend in sushi nowadays. If you want your standard nigiri bento or simple hand rolls or poke bowl with quick service, you'll be pleased with the quality of the sushi rice and the portions of fish. For drinks they have a refrigerator case of bottled drinks so it's easy to take on the go to a picnic and not worry about spilling a fountain cup over in your car. I haven't tried much of the rolls as I seem to be obsessed with the ahi bowls. But maybe one day I'll try to expand my sampling. Overall I give this fast food sushi joint a two thumbs up!

Spicy bag n tuna bag B both are $2.96. it was quite a wait. They run out of change...really!!! have they not unticipated d lunch crowd? Is this not what they deal with everyday? I attached a picture n see if this is worth ur $5.20 and 25 mins. Of your lunch hour...spicy bag was tasteless. Go whether somewhere else!

I thoroughly LOVE their dragon roll!! but thats about it... everything else is "aight" but this place would not be my first choice!! The hidden person behind the curtain that makes the sushi seems a little pissed off half the time and on a few occasions I'm positive the fish was two days old... epic fail...

I've been a customer almost since day one. Over the years, the price has gradually crept up. If you are a fan of traditional temaki sushi, go elsewhere. Their version of temaki is, as they call it, a roll, picture half a maki. I usually go for the spicy ahi, salmon or veggie rolls, and sometimes the futomaki. The spicy ahi was previously nothing more than sliced ahi with chili sauce ( the infamous red bottle with green cap ). It is now more like what you find elsewhere, a mayo/chili blend. The veggie roll can be ordered regular or spicy. Surprise, its served with mayo. You won't be too happy with it if you are a pure vegan. The salmon, hmmmm, sliced farmed atlantic salmon. Futomaki is average. Reading this, one would believe I am not a fan. Wrong, I am. For me, it is what it is, fast food sushi. Quick in and quick out, decent food, easy parking, no problem. Some have called the lady a b___ch but I would beg to differ. She has been nothing but pleasant with me, often asking how the kids are doing or where the wife was today. She even asked my daughter once, "Where your daddy today?". Yeah, sometimes we go there frequently, especially during high school soccer season (go mene!)

Tempura Udon and sushi very satisfying if in the area. I'm a fan.

Located in the 99 Ranch Market food court, run by (& owned by?) Koreans. It's cool that one can get sushi with kim chee in it at one of Sushi Man's 10 stores on Oahu. At this store, I've had the veggie roll, shinko maki, and vegetable tempura roll. All satisfied my craving for sushi without breaking the bank. I really liked the veggie tempura, but would have appreciated it if the rice were cold, with less rice vinegar mixed in. I know some people say sushi rice is supposed to be warm, but I grew up eating cold sushi, so that's kind of the way I like it, especially when I'm on the go. I might feel different eating sushi at a sushi bar with sake in hand.

I have always been a fan of Sushiman. My absolute favorite is the dynamite maki. I loved the Sushiman that used to be in Windward Mall. When that store closed, I went to the Kailua store. When that store closed, I started going to the Pearl Highlands store. However, I was recently in Moanalua 99 for errands. I decided to go to this store. I have eaten here before, and I was always pleased with how the food turned out. Unlike before, this visit was not at all what is normally expected. The dynamite maki, which is normally topped with spicy ahi, had the thinnest layer of spicy ahi I have ever seen. The topping was mainly sauces, with a few bits of actual fish on it. The tempura maki underneath it was good, but I feel since I'm paying almost $10 for this maki, it should have a decent layer of spicy ahi. At other stores, the maki is bigger and also comes with edamame. I have a feeling I won't be back at this store for a long time.

Slow service and barely mediocre sushi. I can't believe that this is the part of the same chain of Sushiman stores. The others I have been to are great. Sushi is all about the rice. The rice here is too mushy. Other than that, the place is not bad for the price. Their temaki (hand rolls) are alright, but you can tell that this is not authentic Japanese sushi.
