G-O-O-D M-O-O-R-N-I-I-N-G W-O-R-L-D!!! I was in a good mood when I woke up Monday morning. I was feeling happy. When I'm happy I like to look in my full length mirror and sing my version of "If You're Happy and You Know it". youtube.com/watch?v=nUeS… Feeling good! Looking good!! So I'm driving Ewa on North King Street, headed for Queen's Supermarket when I see a sign that read: "Fresh Poke Bowls $6.00" yelp.com/biz_photos/supe… That sign made me happy! A Poke Bowl for $6.00 makes me happy! So I start singing.... "If you're happy and you know it clap your hands: Clap! Clap! If you're happy and you know it clap your hands: Clap! Clap! If you're happy and you know it then your face will surely show it If you're happy and you know it clap your hands: Clap! Clap!" After buying kim chee at Queens, I head back to where I saw the sign. I pass Waikamilo and turn left into the parking lot of a place called Superb Sushi. I walk in and give the place a good look around. This is not a sit down restaurant. This place is setup for mass production sushi. yelp.com/biz_photos/supe… I see a picture of their Spicy Poke Bowl on the wall and ordered it. The Spicy Poke Bowl is $6.00! The poke they put in the container is fresh and was made right in front of me! It's a mixture of fresh, cubed ahi mixed with seaweed, round and green onions, Hawaiian salt and is topped with tobiko! yelp.com/biz_photos/supe… All I can say is .... "I was happy and they knew it, cause my face it really showed it I was happy and they knew it clap your hands! Clap! Clap!" Their was a picture of their three piece Shrimp Tempura Don on the wall. It looked good for the $6.00 price. The next day I drive down N. King Street and headed on down to Superb Sushi. I walk in and without any hesitation, ordered the Shrimp Tempura Don. I was happy! The lady behind the counter knew I was happy because I start singing: "If I'm happy and you know it stomp your feet: Stomp! Stomp! If I'm happy and you know it stomp your feet: Stomp! Stomp! If I'm happy and you know it then your face will surely show it If I'm happy and you know it stomp your feet: Stomp! Stomp!" So the lady stomped her feet. The shrimp tempura for my order was not deep fried in front me. It was reheated! But for $6.00, I can't complain. The rice was topped with furikake and a side of pickled red ginger! "I was happy and she knew it and her face it really showed it I was happy and she knew it stomp your feet: Stomp! Stomp!" On the wall was a picture of their Unagi Bowl. The picture made me happy because I love unagi! The very next day I'm on N. King heading on back to Superb Sushi. I walk in and ordered the Unagi Bowl. yelp.com/biz_photos/supe… I was happy! So I start singing: "If you're happy and you know it scratch your balls: Hu-RRAY!! If you're happy and you know it scratch your balls: Hu-RRAY!! If you're happy and you know it then your face will surely show it If you're happy and you know it scratch your balls: Hu-RRAY!!" Boy, were they surprised! I drive home; washed my hands and dug into my Unagi Bowl. It was a pretty big piece of Unagi! "I was happy and I knew it and my face it really showed it I was happy and I knew it I scratch my balls ....Hu-RRAY!" Superb Sushi is strictly take out; catering or sushi chef for hire. Walk-in takeout hours are 7:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. The parking lot is small so you drive in and have to back out onto King. The Poke Bowl is fresh and a reasonable but not generous size. The price of the lunches includes tax. Superb Sushi made me happy so I started singing: "If I'm happy and I know it I do all three: Clap! Scratch! Hu-RRAY!! If I'm happy and I know it I do all three: Clap! Scratch! Hu-RRAY!! If I'm happy and I know it then my face will surely show it If I'm happy and I know it I do all three: Clap! Scratch! Hu-RRAY!!" I'm pretty sure this place will make many men happy. I'm pretty sure their face will really show it and if they're happy they will want to scratch their balls. Hu-RRAY! P.S. About the "balls" chorus. Before you get all habut about that chorus, there are many kinds of balls: Footballs, tennis balls, golf balls, musubi balls. The balls I was referring to were golf balls. P.P.S. Only men know how happy scratching their balls makes them feel. And of course, you always have to wash your hands before you eat braddahs!! P.P.P.S. If any of you ladies decide to go down to Superb Sushi because you want to be happy; make up your own version of "If You're Happy and You Know it" and scratch whatever and wherever you think is appropriate.

Stopped by recently to pick up lunch and found the price on their poke bowl had gone up by a dollar. No longer $6, but at $7, you can't get a better, more delicious and healthy meal. The spicy sauce is da BOMB!!!

The sushi here was great! It was my first time here already, they gave me a great experience. I made a special order and i was supposed to pre order but they made it anyway. Very sweet lady in front cashier.

The poke was on point! Fresh, just the right amount of ingredients (no salt overkill), and the portion was pretty good for the price. Work staff was friendly, and were quick to address me when I walked in. Definitely a place to check out!

$6 Poke Bowl!! Whaaaat?! Randomly happened upon this place and was super stoked. Cheap quality fish. $10 Poke/Cali Roll Combo w/h Miso is the bomb. I'm glad I'm back home. Oh Poke how I have missed thee. This is another go-to. In and out, that's what I'm all about. Cheeeeheeeeeeeee

I've been wanting to try this place for awhile now but could never make it before they closed.. Today, I made it! Anyway.. I was hoping they had a spicy ahi poke bowl. But there was none. Was kinda bummed so got the ahi poke bowl they offered since I was there anyway. It was made right in front of me;fresh fish. $6 poke bowl, no tax. Came home to eat it. They give you a little container of sauce to put on the fish kinda like a spicy ahi sauce.. It's yummy!! All in all I'm satisfied

Superb Sushi catered our wedding with a live sushi bar and it was AMAZING! From planning, set-up and execution everything went perfect. My family and friends love sushi and they were beyond impressed with the quality and variety of fish that was offered. Everything was fresh and the service was outstanding. Thank you so much for making our wedding day so special!!

Luv me some good poke, and every now and then I get a craving that must be satisfied! Those that know me know I have been frequenting a particular shop in the heart of Chinatown to get my poke groove on (can I still say that?!?) and while I still luv luv that place, sometimes I just don't feel like fighting the limited parking in CT. Glad I finally got to try Superb Sushi. Right up there in quality and taste. I ordered the "spicy ahi poke bowl (now $7.00)". It was not as I expected...no mayo no tobiko...but what it did have was the freshest ahi and the perfect balance of inamona, chili powder, with just a smidgen of oil and TONS of the limu seaweed that I love. Served with the spicy mayo on the side. Tried it both ways and I actually prefer it without the sauce...it was THAT good! And yes, I broke down and bought a side roll with shrimp tempura and (imitation) crab, still warm sitting innocently on the counter crying, " come on baybee, you want me, you know you do!" A roll priced @ only $4...how could anyone resist? Located on the mauka side of N.King Street in the heart of Kalihi. This location really is a production location serving many hotels and restaurants across the state. They also cater many private events. There is a small counter for walk in/takeout business. Location is easy to get to and has a few parking spaces right in front. Hours are a bit difficult as they only open from 7:30-1:30pm. They obviously don't need my business but I "need" them! Will sure to be back soon !

No stars to update as I wasn't able to try it today. Update please. Closed on Sunday

The $6.00 poke bowl is now the $7.00 poke bowl and the sign has been changed. Oh yeah and their prices on some of the items (mostly the combos) have jumped a few bucks here and there. I really loved their sushi and poke bowls because it is fresh. The cone sushi was only for $3.50 and it was just...meh... nothing special about it. I really liked the Shrimp Tempura sushi ( I think this one is $7?) and the Reverse California Roll (6 pieces and worth the $4.00). Like every awesome place, the hours are horrendous. If you want to try their amazing broke the mouth poke bowls and fresh, not conveyer belt left for hours so flies and other people's germs go on the plate sushi, you need to be early because they are only open from Monday to Saturday from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm.

Here I am on a dreary workday just before lunch time in the parking lot across the street from Superb Sushi. I'm waiting to meet someone and all I can think about is WHERE AM I GOING TO EAT LUNCH??? Okay, I really do have a life, but at that particular second all I could think about was FOOD!! Now, I confessssssss that I LOVE poke!!! So, I see this sign across the street that says "$6.00 Poke Bowls". And all of a sudden the heavens open and "ahhhhhhh", I think okay as soon as the person I'm waiting for shows up, I'm going to get a poke bowl. So my friend arrives, and I'm like okay...great, thanks, yup, see you later, blah-blah, blah-blah, GO AWAY....I want to get a poke bowl!! So FINALLY, they leave and I'm like YES!! So, I drive across the street into this small parking lot and enter this haven of delight. I order the poke bowl and happily return to my car. Now, I'm going to be honest....I kinda wanted a california poke bowl, BUT for $6.00 I'm willing to try anything. So, I open the container, and drizzle the super, special, amazing, delicious, incredible spicy sauce on my FRESH (not previuosly frozen) fish and take my first bite! And BAM!!! The flavors hit me....the fresh fish, the sweet raw onion, the ogo, YES, YES!!! Ding-ding-ding!!!!Winnah!!!! Planning a grad party for next summer and you can bet we are going to have a a sushi bar at that party! I turned everyone in my family on to the Superb Sushi poke bowls. Next time, I'm going to try the unagi, but the poke will always be my first!!! Y-U-M-M-Y!!!

One of the best poke bowls I've ever had, and only $6 and made to order! Fresh ahi mixed with fresh seaweed, onions, chili pepper and salt. Comes with a side of spicy sauce, but it doesn't even need it!! I'll be back often!!

Two words - nothing special... Miso soup is good but everything else... Meh....meh...

Always wanted to try this place, Glad i did, their sauce was on point, spicy ahi bowl was better than most places I've tried and their crab rolls were great too, Awesome!!!
(5)Rey S.
Can't go wrong for the price. I decided to go there for lunch while waiting for my truck to get serviced at Honolulu Ford next door. The poke bowl was actually REALLY good. The ahi was fresh and the sauce really tasty. The spicy ahi roll was also a good deal for $7. I live in Ewa so not like I would drive all the way into town for this place but if I'm in the area I'd stop here for the awsome sushi!

This little hidden gem in Kalihi has some of the best tasting sushi and poke. I've had their food in the past at various events when they cater their hand rolls made to order. I know their catering is very popular, but I'm happy I finally got to try them at their shop. I think they mostly do catering, so their shop is basically a sushi factory in the mornings, but you can come by for poke bowls until 1:30 when they close. They also offer extras from whatever they were making, so I got to try some tempura maki and futomaki, both of which were amazing. I don't usually like futomaki, but superb sushi makes theirs with that pickled carrot that I love and marinated mushrooms. Yum!! My eyes were a little big for my stomach, as I also got a poke/cali combo for $11. The combo also comes with miso soup. They mix the poke when you order it, and in addition to the seasonings, they add onion and seaweed. You can also get a little container of their spicy sauce to drizzle on top to make a spicy poke bowl. There isn't much in terms of parking or seating, but that's ok, it's a take out sushi kind of place with excellent quality poke and sushi. I'll definitely be back!

Awesome sushi party my friends and family really enjoyed it! Party was super thanks to Superb Sushi!!! Thank you Kevin and the sushi chefs!

After passing by this establishment for years thinking they only did catering, I spied signs that said, "Poke Bowls" and "Now Open" and decided to stop in. And I am so happy that I did. I ordered the $10 poke bowl. It came with a generous amount of poke, rice, a California maki sushi and miso soup. A bargain considering a lot of places charge that for only poke and rice. What made this a spectacular experience for me is that the poke is made to order. It hasn't been sitting around all day. But more importantly, I was able to have mine without chili peppers, green onions, and round onions. For me, that was worth the price right there. But then I got to eating the meal and, well, OMG. The poke was tender, melt in the mouth. The inamona and oil used to make it was tasty, some of the best I have ever had, including the fancy ones with oyster sauce and avocado. This one beat those, hands down. To top it off, the staff was very friendly. They were willing to chat and share their experiences. The only down side? The parking lot is small and reversing out takes some maneuvering if you don't want to reverse into traffic. But you know what? I'll gladly deal with it just to get that poke bowl. Next time I go I'm going to try the unagi bowl or the salmon collar bowl. Both looks splendid.

Superb Sushi was just that...SUPERB!!! We hired them to cater at our wedding. So we had a live sushi bar with two men preparing sushi for my guests. Everything was made to order. The sushi was fresh and tasty. My guests were repeatedly returning to get more. Everything was onolicious!! Our wedding was planned last minute and Kevin Higa the owner made it easy to accommodate our needs. I cant tell you how many compliments that I received about this company. In fact, two of my friends are hiring them for there own weddings. Want to impress your guests, hire SUPERB SUSHI for any event!!

Love this place! They make the poke right in front of you, and it tastes amazing. There isn't a huge variety, but it's about the substance, and it's great!

At the suggestion of party planner extraordinaire Russ M, my BF hired a sushi chef for our New Year's Eve party! We had about 30 guests coming and wanted to have something special to welcome in 2012. Normally we'd spend NYE popping fireworks, but as that was out of the picture, we decided to swank it up with friends at home. Ivan, our sushi chef, arrived right on time and set up by our lanai. He sliced up the sushi and prepped fresh fish and an assortment of hand rolls. I stuffed my face with ebi, hamachi and ahi nigiri. My boyfriend ate spicy ahi and creamy crab handrolls. Everything was wonderfully delicious and the cuts of fish were very fresh. Ivan was friendkdid a great job cleaning up and left zero mess. The total came out to about $400 for two hours of bomb private party sushi magic. Yes, it might sound a bit expensive but if you get people to chip in it comes out to about $10-$15 per person. Not a bad price to ring in the new year with some 2012 swankiness! Yelp 365 Challenge: #125/365 (The Swanky Sushi)

Superb Sushi provided "live" sushi at an event I went to in Kaneohe. The sushi was fresh and tasty. The spicy ahi was spicy on its own without the mayo goo that conveyor belt sushi places offer. I enjoyed the salmon and ika squid I got. I didn't really get to see the workers prepare the sushi because my husband let me sit at the table while he went back at forth to get more sushi (yes, he spoils me like a princess and I like it!). My husband said they smiled and were friendly while they quickly made sushi requested. What I did see was the workers came dressed like they came from an authentic Japanese sushi bar and brought along coolers. It was the first time I had "live" sushi at an event and I thought it was a neat idea. Months later my husband pointed out their location right across from New Diner's Drive In/next door to the Ford Dealership on King Street in Kalihi while we were waiting for our order at the drive-in and might I say, their sign is nicely lit with their name big enough to read with their website and phone number below it. If I wanted "live" sushi for a party, I'd remember to contact them. :)

I was at a Party last weekend that Superb Sushi provided the "live Bar". e The Sushi was fantastic! The Sushi Chef was fast and professional. Highly Recommended.

Superb Sushi is the best sushi catering available. They have catered two different parties for me. Fantastic selection of the freshest fish presented in a classic sushi cart. The chef hand makes every order per guest request, everything from handrolls to nigiri. I had multiple food stations to choose from at both events, but the sushi station was the busiest and most talked about. Guests are still thanking me for the amazing sushi experience one month later. I will definitely have Supurb Sushi at future events.
