Kudos to McDonalds for bringing back the Third Pounder. I especially like the mushroom and Swiss cheese sirloin steak burger. I hope that this is going to remain on their menu as it is quite good. When I found out that the Third Pounder was back I just had to go there. The burger was pretty good for a fast food quality burger. The beef patty tasted like beef and not dried up beef squeezed if all its favors and juices. The mushroom added that flavor that only it can. The picture I took of the burger doesn't do it justice as it looks rather flat. But once you bite into it you may fall instantly in love. Now, if they bring back dark meat McNuggets and make the here today gone tomorrow McRib sandwich a regular on the menu, offer a little lower price on the menu, have a little better service and cleaner restroom and dining facility, I would bump them up to four or five. As it is the menu was quite sparse before the newly added Third Pounder. But I do commend them for a job well done on the Third Pounder and offering the any size soda for a dollar and fish burger at a lower price.

Cashier not to friendly. I order coffee but never ask me if I want sugar and cream. I have to ask for my sugar i have to ask for my creamer and I have to ask for my picante sauce for my burito! :-(((((((

Ordered an ice cream cone and a side salad for To Go took them more than 3 minutes to give? They even forgot to give fork for my salad. The cashier name "Adam" needs to know what costumer service is. Not smiling, No thank you's! The one who's making order prioritize the drive thru than the one inside.

A standard Mickey D's but with a very helpful drive-thru. See picture! Seriously, parking can be a challenge as the lot is shared with Foodland.

Came here last night because my usual Mcdonalds I go to (Liliha) was closed form 8pm-6am due to store maintenance. The reason why I'm giving THIS McDonalds 4 stars is because the nice cashier Jacelyn was super patient with me and my boyfriend at the window since we couldnt figure out what to eat. When my bf got the bacon clubhouse she informed us that it came with a free medium drink and fries. I got that the last time at another location and the cashier didnt mention that to me! its whatevers. I had the munchies so I got a big mac meal lol, but I wanted ice cream, but not just ice cream, i wanted a frappe too. I knew I couldnt finish both so I asked Jacelyn if I can get half mocha frappe and half chocolate shake in a large cup & she made it happen! Best munchie meal ever!

I don't usually review average restaurants, but the McDonald's Kam shopping center is much improved from before. Good renovations, classier, same employees, but they didn't screw up my order and were pretty quickly. Good job!

This place is always so busy and has a terrible parking lot and drive through. The last speed bump coming out of the drive through will definitely lead into someone getting run over one day. So steep and there's blind spots.......should put some mirrors up or blinking lights if pedestrians are walking by.

This McDonalds was clean and the service was good. Friendly staff. Ordered a large French fry and the fries tasted a little old and were a little soggy. Asked for a cup for water and it was a dollar. Asked for ranch sauce for fries and they said it costs 25¢.

Worst customer service ever... Especially the management team are very unprofessional, that goes for so called manger "Ricki" He has a terrible attitude concerning an issue that he couldn't resolve... How did he even become a manger????

I am a fan of the new modern interior of this McDonald's location. They newly renovated the interior, exterior, as well as the drive thru. The interior gives a "healthy living" feeling, they have carrots on one of the walls and the seating are warm earthy tones. The seating/dining area makes you want to stay and eat, although during certain hours of the day this is not the place to enjoy a satisfying meal. For instance after school hours are no bueno and on the weekends in the morning, more the elderly are there and they have get-togethers and chat for days! The drive thru now has two ordering stations which makes it a bit more faster but not fast enough. This location is one that has alot of traffic and many people come here. It is in a shopping center and located between many schools around the area. So if there is a long line at the drive thru, that's normal. As far as service, they have improved. Before I would get my order, and it would be wrong or missing something. Then I'd be mad and it ruins my appetite. Now, I make it habit to check my order just in case. But recently, I didn't have any orders wrong. So far so good. What I do like now, that they newly added, was when you order inside and after you take your order, your receipt will have a number and at the pick up station, above is a monitor to see what order number is ready. They will call out your order number as well as put it on the monitor that it is ready. Awesome! No more waiting for on cashier to do everything, order and get the food ready for you. I think they made changes to better serve the customers and so far it is working. Keep up the good work! They also have an area where you fill your own drinks so that makes on less thing for them to do. For the customer that means free refills (if you plan to dine in). Overall this McDonald's location is ok. Not quite the best ever but getting there.

It's busy & there are almost no seats during the afterschool hours, of course, due to the students wanting to hang out and eat. We had to wait for so long to finally have a seat. Sometimes it gets too noisy. However, it's not too bad! The food is alright and it doesn't take so long to get our orders. The food is all hot and "freshly made".

I don't ordinarily write reviews for McDonalds, however this warrants one. The parking was and is horrendous, but if you can overlook that factoid, you'd be quite surprised to know how clean and efficient this location is. The tables, chairs and floors were immaculately tidy! Shocking, considering we dined indoors at the lunch peak. Customer service was on point as well!! Kudos to the staff and management of McDonalds at Kam Shoppiing Center!!

For a McDonald's this is one of my favorites. I can count on this McDonald's to always have $1.00 any size drinks and all other national specials (McRib, etc.). It's newly renovated and very nice inside. My favorite part about this McDonald's is the have a happy hour. These may be common on the mainland at fast food establishments but not in Hawaii (i.e. Sonics on the mainland tend to have happy hour smoothie specials 2-4 pm). This McDonalds give you a free children's happy meal with a purchase of an adult meal. Can we all say WINNING!! I saved around $4.50 for my kiddos chicken nugget meat!! Kids eat free Monday through Friday 5-7pm. The sign for this says for a limited time. But it has been up for about 4 months. Warning: do not come here during after school hours. It gets so busy! Also, the parking lot and drive thru can get busy at all hours. Just sit tight and drive carefully!!

Thank you to the North School Street McDonald team member who made these dipped cones. We have had them in Waipio, Liliha, Pearl City, etc. But no one makes it as perfect as you! Nicely dipped, thick coats of chocolate and perfect size. And clean! Thanks!

Came here for breakfast that is cheap and oh so good. What can I say?!? I always loved McDonald's since I was a kid and this McDonald's has a fast drive thru and friendly staff. Convenient location and in and out in no time. Nothing more to say.

  • Jenna S.

A review for McDonald's? I know right, but MCJESUS the drive through here is horrible. Ordered an egg white delight meal and local deluxe platter, somehow my order total changed from the order screen to the window (but it got cheaper so I didn't complain), but they didn't give me any hash browns and put yellow cheese in the egg white delight!? It supposed to be white cheddar! This happens every time I come here, they manage to screw something up! Avoid.

Had one of the worst experiences here today. I asked for ketchup in a container with pepper. Julibee, who was passing out the drive thru food decided to give me a disgusted face and totally ignored what I told her and decided to ask me how many packets. I told her "no. I want ketchup in a mc nugget container with pepper." She turned around and started talking to her employee. A Caucasian manager decided to stare at me for a minute or so. So I asked her if she had a problem. So, that manager questioned me confusingly if I wanted ketchup and pepper mixed together. I got frustrated because how can you not understand that I want ketchup and pepper in a container. So I said.. "Yeah, I guess so." They were so confused. Like, how hard is it to understand? I added "So, can I have ketchup in a mcnugget container?! Because I've been to different locations and this is the first time you guys are giving me a hard time." Julibee glanced at me and decided to giggle trying to hide her face after my response and that was it. I asked her if she had a fxking problem because she had to laugh in my face which was really disrespectful, I got pissed off. No manager decided to apologize in person, they all decided to stare at me so I told them I'll be reporting them to corporate. This is unacceptable behavior. I know it's McDonald's but learn some respect for paying customers because the money we put down pays for your paychecks. Rude customer service. Isn't the first time I've experienced bad service there but today? It was too much. I brought it up to corporate so managers there will be able to start taking action for lazy workers there. Or employees who give customers a hard time because they can't go out of their way a customer.

One of the three Mcdonals around the Kalihi area. It is currently under construction and DRIVE THRU is closed from time to time. BOO. I hear that they are adding a 2nd level! WiFi: YES! WiFi is a lot stronger here as compared to Starbucks a few yards away! Good spot to study. BOO to the lack of power outlets :( Setting: Cold AC and ample comfy seating. BOO to Kalihi weirdos and the loud atmospheric nature of this place, but what can you expect?? Its not a coffee spot, its a dine-in fast food!

Review for Drive-Thru: Because this is the only McDonald's in upper Kalihi Valley it is in the perfect location, especially if you live in the valley or attend a school nearby or driving over to the windward side or making your way out of the valley or you're shopping at kamehameha shopping center. However, the way the parking lot has been created can create a traffic jam during busy hours (before work or after work or after school hours). why? because in front of mcdonalds is a one way around the parking stalls and that one way is your entrance into the drive thru...so yes, if there's a line, you'll be waiting to get out. I love the new modern exterior designs. I say this because I have not been inside since they renovated and redecorated. I love the outside landscape. They actually added nicer bushes and flower plants. I also love that there's 2 intercoms and 2 menu boards to look at. On most occasions the service is fast and the line of cars gets through pretty quickly. The price of the menu items have gone a bit up. I remember when McDonalds Happy Meals were like $3.00. Now its $5.00-6.00. and where's the haupia pie? and taro pie? they definitely need to have that in stock more often. My favorite items to order: -- filet o fish --ice cream cone --big mac and of course for the kids --mighty kids meal --happy meal I do want to comment that twice they forgot items on 2 separate occasions. And on both occasions that I called to complain they offered to give me a free meal. Its just a hassle when you get home and to drive all the way back. Overall, I'll always come to this McDonald's because its convenient and I've been coming here since they knocked down the old Kenny's restaurant that was there when I was 10 years old.

McDonald's is McDonald's. Unless of course you live in Hawaii where they serve rice, eggs, spam, & portuguese sausage for breakfast lol. That got me excited when I first came to Hawaii & saw it on the menu. And then they had taro pie which i instantly became obsessed with! They would never have this on the main land! This location is usually infiltrated with teenagers & the occasional homeless & crack heads. But surprisingly their public bathroom is clean & doesn't smell lol. Anyway, i usually just order from the drive thru though. Fast & efficient. They haven't screwed up my order yet!

the Oreo mcflurry, my son's choice of dessert for the night. I wasn't able to use the drive through because it's temporarily under construction. it was meant to be because we got to see our good friends and some relatives we haven't seen in a long time.

Went there last night @ 7:20pm and the drive thru was sooo slow that many cars turned away and left. When I entered the line on the makai side it was bright and sunny and by the time I exited on the mauka side the sun was gone. I couldn't believe it. Not going back!

I tried a McDonald's Haupia Pie for the first time here. It was pretty darn good! Creamy coconut filling with actual tender chunks and shavings of coconut! I'll definitely order it again. I wonder if the crust recipe could be modified to make a better match for the coconut.... Going through the drive-thru I noticed the furniture inside was really nice! There was a round wooden sign that said it was a "McCafe". I got annoyed because the person taking my order asked how many cream and sugar I wanted and I said, "None, but please don't fill the coffee cup all the way." The woman totally could not understand me, even though I tried to explain that I didn't want it filled all the way up because McDonald's coffee is scalding-hot, and when I drive, sometimes it can spill out and make a mess and/or hurt me. I ended up just saying, "Never mind, I can just pour some out myself. Thanks." I kind of felt bad that I got irritated, because english was obviously not the woman's first language, but "argh!".

The food is still good, but I got bad news everyone. THEY CHANGED THE DOLLAR MENU!!! Ok I shouldn't be whining because this location is still offering dollar menu items. At least my McChicken and Small Fries are still there. But, there are two things that may be irking to returning customers: There is no special deal on Apple Pies and the Sundae is a rip off. $1.50 for a sundae? Really? No thanks. $0.69 for an Apple Pie. Please! That thing used to have so much filling when I was in middle school. Now it's hallow and only very few filling exists. On the bright side to this crazy fiasco which may take several weeks for people to get used to it, they are offering the Vanilla Cone for $1 and 2 cookies for $1. Maybe that's why I kept the four star rating. At least the McDouble, McChicken, Side Salad, Parfait, Small Fries, and Small drink are still on there along with an alternative to the Sundae. I don't really like the Apple Pie so this minor change to the dollar menu really doesn't affect me that much. As long as the value is still there on their items, I will continue to go back EDIT: Sorry about that! Side Salad isn't on the dollar menu and the small fries are $1.29, but the small drink is still $1.00

Obviously, its McDonald's. I just come here for breakfast, since the breakfast items are pretty good. I rarely go to any McDonald's for lunch, unless I am craving french fries. The service is swift at breakfast time and those credit card machines are pretty good too. Get in and out, and move on with your day. That's the reason why I like McDonalds. Plus the food is decently cheap. Jury's out on the gross coffee though.

Ok this one is located at the Kamehameha Shopping Center in Kalihi. You cannot really miss it especially if you are on the N. School St. side of the area. It's right near were that busy intersection(s) are near the elementary school and the Walgreens that is across the street. They have a drive thru which tends to get busy during peak hours like mornings and late afternoon pau hana times and such. The interior and exterior is actually pretty clean looking. I know that they have renovated not too recently. They have a decent amount of table and seating areas. AT this location, you will find many families and more youth because of the surrounding school area like Kamehamha, a couple of elementary schools, as well as the Bishop Museum that is nearby. It makes a perfect pitstop for a quick bite to eat and such. There is a decent amount of parking that is in front of the restaurant. Sometime that gets filled up pretty quickly so you might have to park a little further towards the center of the shopping center. Normally, whenever I go here I just order take out and no situations so far.

Line today was not as horrible I thought it would be after school hours. Parking was not horrible but I went to the drive thru coz I was rushing. Staff were friendly and I checked my order before leaving the area, nothing was missing, hooray! I would've given them 5 stars but I remembered them forgetting 2 of my orders last time and it was pouring so hard I just had to let it go and move on. The ice cream cone will remain as my favorite. I ordered the crispy chicken sandwich which was surprisingly perfect today. Bought a few taro pies as well, those didn't disappoint either. Kids meal came with cute Paul Frank toys which my daughter happen to love, epic win! Just make sure you check your to-go bags if driving thru before leaving to avoid the disappointing surprises. The dollar menu is still available, epic win x2!

In homage to my favorite comedically witty Yelper, Ihz O., I think I'm going to continue my reviews of popular (or not so popular) chain establishments. He doth inspire the Dutchess within me :) Anyhoo... I stop by this newly redec'd, ultra modern interiored Mickey D's about once a week. Not that I typically enjoy hyper-commercialized fast food cuisine, per se...but sometimes one has a McRib addiction that can only be satiated once a year (like now) so resistance seems futile. I think we could almost call this one Club Mickey D's as it has these neat little booths with pendant lighting. You Go, Ronald! The McRib is terrific here. It isnt quite the sloppy mess that I have had served to me at the Moiliili, Waikiki or Downtown locations. The fries are always fresh and served and perfectly salty. Plus in the morning, they make a really great Iced Coffee. Love it...The new look is working for me!

Horrible expierence in the drive thru. They don't know what there doing. They lack communication amongst the workers. With better management of the workers this mcdonalds would be better. GOOD LUCK!

The only cool thing about this McDonald's is the Chinese workers that work here. One time my order was forgotten and the Chinese guy who took my order realized that it was indeed forgotten. So he ran to the food pick up station which was full of traffic, grabbed my order, and informed me that it was ready to be picked up. However, there's something wrong with the hash browns. Every time I ordered them, they always have that oily taste. It's very greasy and disgusting. I noticed that the Filipino lady that works the fryer doesn't let the hash browns sit out long enough to drain out most of the grease. There was once incident where I left the hash brown on a napkin on top of my jeans and the oil soaked into my jeans embedding a nice oily logo.

I don't eat McDonalds but when you babysit and owe kids ice cream... Well this is the place to go.. They brought backed the chocolate dip ice cream cone.. However, the person who made it for my kid made it all drippy and it was a hot mess. But also the kid eats like a hot mess so no big deal.. Has great parking right in front of it, separate from the shopping center. Very easy and convenient .

For not being a fan of Mcdonald's I can say, this establishment is always clean. They have superior service and are very friendly. I often stop in here before work to get coffee when I am in a rush. Even when extremely packed like at lunch the staff are helpful and working hard. I am really impressed with this Mcdonald's, I have been to Mcdonalds' all over the world and here the young and old workers are very friendly and quick . Kam shopping center Mcdonald's also partners with local schools like Kamehameha. Two thumbs up !

It's McDonald's everyone loves it. I'm still sad that this monstrosity is sitting on the old location of Kenny's Burgerhouse. Just spit on the grave, why don't you? Sorry. I'm just bitter because the McTeri burger isn't a regular menu item. It's my favorite burger.

The dirtiest oil I ever saw in my life, I don't understand why so many people like to eat in McDonald, it's extremely unhealthy and would due to fatty, please take care your body more.

Avoid.

This McDonalds was clean and the service was good. Friendly staff. Ordered a large French fry and the fries tasted a little old and were a little soggy. Asked for a cup for water and it was a dollar. Asked for ranch sauce for fries and they said it costs 25¢.

Love it...The new look is working for me!

the Oreo mcflurry, my son's choice of dessert for the night. I wasn't able to use the drive through because it's temporarily under construction. it was meant to be because we got to see our good friends and some relatives we haven't seen in a long time.
