Almost everyone loves McDonald's! The food and taste is the same no matter which one you go to! The seats here are limited, so if it is peak lunch hours you probably want to order to-go! Some things about this McDonald's location is that there isn't a dollar menu- but they sometimes have taro pie for 99 cents. The service here is pretty bad for even fast food standards. Many times the managers might be taking orders and they can be rude or might not even be looking at you. It might be a good change if they treat their customers as people.

They may have changed their location in the mall but their service still sucks. Multiple cash registers, multiple workers, but noone in the front??? Wtf? I still stood in line for 15 minutes with a bunch of people behind me before finally walking out. Good thing too cuz god knows how long i would've continued waiting since i was ordering for six people. They only lost possibly $60+ from us which im sure is no big deal to them cuz this place gets a lot of customers. Since this McD's ain't that hard up for your money you should try other McD's nearby like Keeaumoku, Sports Authority, or across ABC store and Red lobster when you enter Waikiki. These places are just around the corner from the mall. I am surprised that the women manager on duty at 3pm today saw the line and continued moving at her slow pace. You would think she was placing hot bowls of soup in a bag the way she was moving. Yikes!!! And shame on the person who owns this franchise because people have been leaving similar comments regarding the service here and nothing seems to he getting done about it. Just another eatery that wants your money.

I would rather not rate this establishment with one star at all. Walked in on my lunch break to see an employee screaming at a customer, an elderly woman, who was confused over what she was charged due to the language barrier. English was not the customer's first language. The employee made a huge scene making aggressive gestures and screaming at the customer "You don't understaaand!" Her coworker stepped in at this point and asked her to calm down. The employee shushed her coworker, exclaiming "I'm repeating myself over here because she don't understaaand!" as she wildly pointed at the customer. Her coworker walked away and called for a manager. The customer walked away to consult with her friends who were sitting in a booth across the restaurant. The employee loudly complained about the customer to the next customer who was in line. The manager stepped in to ask about the situation but did nothing to calm his employee down. He seemed afraid of her and uncertain of how to handle the situation. Again, the employee shouted throughout her explanation of the issue. The customers standing behind me in line shared in my outrage. This was a blatant display of unprofessional behavior and disrespect. The manager did not do anything to penalize her nor did he apologize to the customer for his employee's behavior.

If you need your McD's fix while your at the mall...this is the place. However due to the high cost of rent at the.mall...they pass the cost on to the foodie needing a fix. Expect to pay higher than normal prices at this location. On the bright bright side the staff is friendly..better yet they also keep the line moving pdq (pretty damm quick.) * * * note if you drink iced coffee....none of the McDonalds gives free refills, like they do on regular coffee. I know because I just HAD to ask, in case I had been missing out on the refills! LOL * * * The Ala Moana McDs does not offer the dollar menu :-( Nor do they have those drink specials that other locations havre where a soda of ANY size can be purchased for a buck. Overall its a McDoanlds like any other...but due to location and the high cost of rent, they dont offer the lower prices. But that doesnt slow me down when I am having a Mac Attack!

Phuc always crave Big Mac when hiding in jungle. Making booby traps all day make me very hungry. Phuc like to wash down tasty treat with ice cold CocaCola. You should eat here too so you can be brave soldier like Phuc.

Horrible service and Horrible staff. If you are thinking about going here think twice. Not only are the staff rude but so is the management. If you are gay that makes it all the worse. For times in the same week I have stopped here to grab a quick bite to eat and each time I have been given old food and food I think that came right out of the trash because the meat patties were very black and I couldn't even eat it. When I complained I was told, "You can deal with it and leave". Also was called names such as "Fagg" which was very disturbing. When I asked for the managers name they refused to give it to me. I have placed a formal complaint with the Mc Donalds Corporate office and am awaiting a response from them!! Horrible, Horrible, Horrible service!!! Not to mention they are serving people bad food that came make someone seriously sick or even worse possibly hospitalized from food poisioning!!!

Honestly- just go in this McDonalds with a coupon- hand it to the cashier and let them figure it out- watch, wait and they will come back to you with a witty remark like, 'what is this?' not in the it is so beneath me but in the I only read limited English- that is why there are pictures on my touch screen instead of words. Managers do know what to do- but then you see the price of a hamburger (just the normal one - not a fancy big mac) cost like $2. They have no dollar menu- everything costs $2 more at this McD. Honestly - there are much better food choices - healthier and cheaper if one would just walk to the other side of the mall to the food court. Even better if you have to eat at McD- walk 2 blocks up mountain side- just above Walmart there is a normal McD that is normal priced McD. Leave his McD to the tourists- it is always over crowded and over priced.

If you have kids, you'll be at all the different McDonalds, so I guess I should start rating these Mcdonalds because although the food come from the same place, I can't believe there's a difference in price and quality of the place, service and food. But I guess ever since McD's sold their stores and now some of them are franchised, they can do what they want to a certain extent. So why has this establishment able to hike their prices a dollar or two more just because they're in Ala Moana? The food is same, but I am paying double the amount I would at any other McDonalds! Also, there is no dollar menu. What's up with that? So, I have to rate it a 2 not because of the food and service, but because the price is a rip off, and no dollar menu included either. Plus, they downsized this store, so it's a lot smaller and crowded than other Mcd's. Although my kids love McD's, we avoid this one because of the hiked up price and no dollar meal.

On my last two visits, the order takers/cashiers were unfriendly. They seemed unhappy to be working there. Furthermore, they did not give me sales receipts for cash purchases; they just tore them up. Has management instructed them to do this?

The food is consistent , good quality ,typical McD,however there is not enough seating! This has been a problem since they moved from the larger location at the mall. There were plenty of seats when I arrived today, so I ordered. By the time I got my food those seats had been cockroached by rude people who had not ordered. I ate lunch standing by the rubbish can!

Visit: 4/8/09 - Had the Quarter Pounder Meal. My fry craving for the week. This Micky D's moved over to Yami Yogurt side of the mall. Looks really nice now. The equipment looks all new and they open until 10pm at night. That is awesome since the mall closes at 8pm. I hate running to the food court at 8pm to get something to eat. Now I can shop until they kick me out and then get some fast food. I will come back because the smell of the french fries.

I really like this location because it's right next to where I work. I like the grille onion and cheddar burger. The meal itself is 2 burgers, medium fries, medium drink for 7 bux. It's also pretty tasty too. The only thing is it's always crowded in here so no place to sit. The ladies working here have been mostly nice. Sometimes they are a little grumpy but I would be too because it's constantly super duper busy with rude customers all day long. But I would say keep up the smile and super fast service!

They don't even rate a single star but had to check on one. Their customer service at the Ala Moana McDonalds is terrible. They talk story in front of customers, Very Slow service & employees with BAD ATTITUDE. We ordered oatmeal took 4 minutes to get my order, when I went to check on my order she told me they had to go in the back to get the oarmeal container. The cashier on the next register Karen made a uncalled comment to me "need to be patient". If the cashier had told me I would have to wait it would have been okay. I WILL NEVER COME TO LOCATION ANYMORE.PRICES ARE HIGHER AND SERVICE BAD BAD BAD! I'm calling the corporate office!

By far the WORST McDonald's I have ever been to in my entire life. I have two kiddies (ages 3 & 5) so McDonald's happy meals are part of their pre-school vernacular along with cheetos and chocolate ice cream. Yes, I know, I know, McDonald's is not the healthiest food on Earth but when you're at the mall with two children who only eat a total of five things (apples, chicken nuggets, rice, crackers and bread) sometimes you have no other choice. I ordered boy and girl happy meals from the ironically unhappy manager who had a difficult time understanding that I wanted two happy meals. I think today was just one of those days that she wanted to work anywhere but McDonald's. In fact I think this place just has a ton of bad energy in it and everyone who works here should quit because they are spreading misery via happy meals. That should be illegal! I wanted to order a vanilla cone but was worried it would make me go postal. It was $10.03 for two happy meals. Damn the price of childhood obesity has sure gone up! I picked up my order from the unhappy counter of misery and went in search of a table. This is a very small McDonald's with limited seats and tons of odd people parked on their keisters not eating. There was a transient transgendered couple who were watching a movie on a dvd player. This is nice and all but seriously my kids need to eat pronto people! There was an older woman who had three handbags, two shopping bags and a large box who was planted at her table reading her mail as I stood in front of her with my two children and in obvious need of a place to sit. I know you see me and you're just pretending to read your mail. It's okay lady, the Karma police are coming for you! A group of teenagers dressed in head to toe Hot Topic finally left and my kiddies were able to sit and devour their calorie and fat laden meal. Of course they really didn't care about eating and begged me immediately to open their toy packages. My son got the Star Wars Falcon ship and my daughter got a pink meatball that tells the future. Will we be returning to this McDonald's in the future I ask it? "The magic meatball says nooooooo!!"

the place itself is in good condition, clean....nice.... employees are friendly and very fast at placing and processing orders. food on other hand is definatelly unhealthy and not of great or even a descent quality.... i ordered fish meal sandwich. reason why I came here was only because it's cheaper then other options in area. i will do my best not to eat here or any similar establishments again, but i know it will happen....sooner or later.

No $1 menu at this new downstairs location?! I didn't read the review from months ago that this location has no $1 menu. I left after I bought my large decaf. I don't like bananas, so no banana pie for me.

When I was a teenager they wouldn't hire me here. Since applying at McDonald's was my last resort, and I know they will hire even mentally challenged people, I became instantly depressed. They wouldn't hire me because as a student without a car I couldn't work all the hours they wanted covered by new employees, but STILL. To be rejected by McDonald's was a big blow. BUT, I'm over it. Ordered a large fries, BBQ sauce, and a cup of water which came out to $2.29. It was a lot of fries! They were adequately salty, but seemed only slightly warmer than room temperature and ever so slightly stale. I consumed my feast at the back of the restaurant, which seemed big enough to hold a decent-sized wedding reception. How crazy would that be? I prefer the food at McDonald's to that of Haleiwa Joe's... Hm, maybe I won't rule out McDonald's as a venue option! Hours: Mon-Sat 6:30 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Sun 6 a.m. - 8 p.m. Payment Methods Accepted: Cash, Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, Discover, JCB, personal checks, out of state checks Fax: 973-2350

Very crazy during peak breakfast and lunch hours. Workers are quick but they definitely should open more registers when they're busy and they need to be more organized with the lines, it's pretty much a mob...so make sure you stand behind a register that's open...not closed!!!

McDonalds is McDonalds. That's pretty much the point, and that's basically the fast food franchise standardization business model, right? This one manages to distinguish itself however by its lack of a Dollar Menu - my usual justification for acquiescing to their food. Also, no self serve napkins, straws, etc.

If you didn't know this already, since it is inside the mall, is much pricier then going to a McDonald's out of the mall. Do try and stay away from it if you don't want to pay more for the same..Other then that, its like any other McDonald's.. same ole, same ole. Not anything too bad to mention about this location.
