Beef stew bowl was horrible. Meat was so tough and did not taste fresh., which is a must for a grest beef stew!!!

Ok so I'm not usually a big L&L fan but I stopped here on the way home from my diabetes class and wanted to try their Healthy plates. It was exactly what my dietician said I could eat as far as what to eat and the portion size. The whole plate was salad with about a scoop and a half of brown rice, which was cooked perfectly, choice of salmon patty, garlic ahi, bbq chicken or garlic shrimp. I was shocked at how much salad there was. Excellent choice for those who have to watch what they eat. I will definitely be going back for the Healthy plates.

Rating this a 1 star because Yelp said they close at 9 on Sunday's so last night my boyfriend & I went down there at around 8:15, ordered our food & sat down. We expected to eat there since they weren't closing yet, WRONG! We took a couple bites of our food only to get RUDELY KICKED OUT guy worker comes around the corner and says "sorry we're closed, we close at 8:30" and walked away. First of all, they did not say anything to us when they saw us sit down and open our food and secondly I have waitressing experience and it's only common courtesy and customer service that you DO NOT KICK OUT PAYING CUSTOMERS! The nerve of them! I mean I get it you want to go home already, but seriously to kick out people is just straight up rude! Not to mention we had our baby with us and one of the workers come and just mop right by us with a strong cleaning smell! Ugh! I rarely come to this l&l & now I really know why, on those rare occasions I just have bad experiences with them!

If you're hungry, this is the place. Good food and lots of it. Combo plates are the best but the burgers are great too!!

Why would anyone visiting the island of Oahu stop at an L&L, you ask? well, we were STARVING after swimming at Nimitz Beach and didn't want to leave Ewa Beach. We ordered basic lunch plates (with huge mountains of rice and mac salad) but the flavors were missing a certain something across the board. Crazy thing is, this place was PACKED with locals. I couldn't help but think, why are there so many locals HERE when they have the pick of the litter all over the island. I found out that to locals, a plate lunch is a plate lunch. It'd be like us going to a McDonalds if we forgot to make lunch that day. It's just the island way.

Just moved from the mainland and I'm anxious to try out some local places. This is the closest to our home so we tried it first. As the locals say - Onolicious!!! I had the Seafood Combo with the teriyaki steak. The portions were huge. This is one place I'm thrilled to have so close!

I like the L&L franchise however I can't find one that has both good food & good customer service on a consistent basis. This location gives bigger portions than the one near Kapolei Parkway however, just like them, today their customer service sucked. I walked up to get my plate, said "thank you" and the guy completely ignored me. Auwe there went your rating. Managers should train ALL their employees to courteously greet and thank ALL of their customers with EVERY SALE. No exceptions. I won't be back based on today. He seemed more interested talking to his girl co-worker next to him then making sure the customers were taken care of.

This morning I was ono for pancakes, so we ordered some from L&L Ewa Beach (next to Foodland). Took it home, opened up the styrofoam container and started to put my butter and maple syrup on the pancakes. As I begin to cut.....what do I find.......A FRICKIN' BABY ROACH! I was so grossed out! I was having dry heaves!! Threw it away and didn't return for feedback or money return! Hawaii needs to get their act together and have Health Inspectors look at these places...Hawaii should have ratings like California....

Because of the diet I'm on I can't eat white rice, so happy they have brown rice too bad they charge more for it though. BBQ chicken w/ all brown rice no mac salad. Perfect.

I LOVE L and L Drive Inn. I normally order the teriyaki steak, the chicken katsu, or the BBQ chicken. There meat is always so delicious and the rice is always perfectly prepared. This L&L though, doesn't do such an amazing job on their Mac Salad. The customer service is great and I do wish they took credit cards but I do understand the benefits of a 'cash only' business in this economy seeing as my Grandfather runs a 'cash only' business and there is money security in the fact that you will never worry about being paid or fraud. Eat there frequently and their teriyaki sauce is my hands down favorite ever!

Tucked away in a little strip mall, there lies a familiar sign for hunger salvation. Don't let the dingy appearance fool you, it seems as if this shop has been around for ages...but the food they dish out is top notch. Menu was totally different than the generic garbage they decided to transplant on the mainland. Mixed plate - maybe it was my accent or something but she didn't understand what i wanted at first. Ended up getting a different mixed plate but whatevas. It was ono. Juicy bbq chicken, kalbi with just the right amount of charred bits, gave it a nice textural change. Generous scoop of mac as well. Lemon chicken - this is something we don't have in Cali. Chicken was overly fried, but that sauce was awesome. Looked like lemon pie filling but had a savory component with it. Good stuff. Hope it isn't another 20 years until i go to Hawaii but at least i know this place is safe to eat.

Location/Parking: They are located in the Ewa Beach Shopping Center next to Foodland. There are tons of parking at this shopping center. Cleanliness: It's an older restaurant so the floors are worn out and stained from constant foot traffic. The seating area is wearing out. The chairs I sat on while I waited were breaking apart. Boxes were stacked on the side of the restaurant. Food: The food is good but the restaurant is not appealing to the eye. They have you typical local food like chicken katsu, kalbi (short ribs), saimin and etc. The portions are great! A regular chicken katsu plate can feed my family of 3 for dinner. Price: Prices seem to have creeped up over the years. A mini is around $8 and a regular plate is around $10. The most expensive plate is the short ribs for $11. Customer Service: Good customer service is a hit or miss. Sometimes I get a friendly cashier and other times I'll get a cashier with attitude. I ordered chicken katsu to go in the past and my sauce was not in the package. I was given a hard time just to get sauce when I went back. Overall, I come ONLY because it's conveniently located. I would love to see this restaurant renovated in the future.

This is your typical L&L. -Over OR under cooked food -messy/smashed sandwiches (Is this normal for you? Or am I just super unlucky? lol) -Dirty fountain spouts. -Dirty tables/chairs/floors The service was good. I wish their food was good too. It's cheaper than Loco Moco. If you don't have much money but want to get a good amount of food, try this place out. I would not want to come back here. This is a quantity over quality place. I hope I'll be able to do an update review on this place with better things to say.

Chinese lady is rude. When placing a phone order be prepared for them not having your food ready. It happened a couple times for me. They would tell me to come in 15 minutes and when I got there to pick up my food, they make my orders on the spot. So I don't know if it's just the cashier's not doing their job or that's how this place is runned.

Tried their Loco Moco for the first time and I must say it was different. I'm not a local so that might've had something to do with my tastebuds not liking Loco Moco, which by the way means "crazy Booger" in spanish

Service is fast, food sucks. One time I ordered the garlic salmon and it was disgusting. It was literally swimming in oil and fried garlic chunks and I couldnt even swallow it. It was really horrible. Another time I ordered the mahi and I promise you it was fried tilapia. This time I got a hamburger deluxe and it looked like it came from mcdonalds, erg. I should have known to not come here after the garlic salmon. I'll only come here when I'm absolutely desperately desperate.

Would of gave this place a 5 but couple factors came in: 1) a few years back, they only accepted cash no credit cards, however now they do honor credit cards which is a plus 2) when I received my chicken katsu reg. plate, plate on one side couldn't close all the way, making the curry sauce leak out of the plate a bit. I tried closing it but I just wouldn't close so I carefully had to carry it out and make it home without spilling it out. 3) when I opened it, saw a huge mountain of food which j thought was a lot of chicken but too much rice making it look like their was more chicken. It's acceptable tho since a lot of locals eat rice. I'm not a big rice eat I should asked to switch one scoop of rice to Mac salad or a type of salad. Overall, food was good however I don't like all the added fat and extra meat (either pork of beef in the curry sauce).

They probably have one of the best chicken katsu I've tasted! Very consistent. This is for the two stars. But!!! Zero stars for a most recent purchase. My bf bought their seafood combo plate and as he bit into his fried shrimp hairs were found inside! *gag! Let's just say that we won't be there for awhile. It's one thing for the place to be a bit unsanitary, but hair in food? That's where I draw the line. No thank you.
