I usually NEVER write reviews because mainly, I'm lazy haha. BUT I'm making an exception for this place because my boyfriend and I, and I'm pretty sure the other customers in the store at the moment had a horrible experience! so there were 2 workers and only 4 customers in the store. but for some reason, it took almost 45mins to get our sandwich! ridiculous!!! not only were they slow but they were incompetent...we had to constantly repeat everything we wanted on our sandwich. we were getting so frustrated. my BF and I were sharing a foot long and we wanted half the sandwich to be veggies he wanted and the other half veggies I wanted. the lady was having so much trouble comprehending and she kept messing up our order and when our sandwich was FINALLY ready, the customer before us was still waiting for his transaction to go through. I don't know exactly what the worker was having trouble with but that made the other girl go over to help her ring it up or something. the guy customer was so upset, he just told her to forget the discount and just give him his change back so he could be on his way. in the meantime, the customers after us was getting pissed off at the other lady because she put like choke mayo on their sandwich. when the customer asked to take off half of it, the worker couldn't comprehend. and when she had to repeat it, she slowly started to scrape it off and then started to smear it around which technically wasn't taking it off the sandwich haha I would NOT recommend anyone to come to this subway unless you have all the time in the world and have a lot of patience! they didn't even deserve a one star review. that's how horrible their service was.

I don't usually write a review. But today will be an acceptation. The guy that was making the sandwich didn't know what he was doing. Some kid probably should have stayed in school. Was cheap with the vegetables I don't know why. When it looks like no one ever comes here. No customer service what's so ever. Need retraining most definitely. Didn't even cut my foot long, that was the first ever! Wow never coming here ever again. What a shame.

Service here is sooooo slow! And it is so obvious that the staff hates their jobs. All Subway food is average, at best.....but combined with unfriendly and extremely slow service warrant this Subway location a 1-star rating. There are just so many better options for the same price in the area.

There's reason you're reading this Yelp. It's Subway. Who reviews a SUBWAY? Large food corporations don't really have problems with consistency, and quality of their food most of the time. When your dependable food franchise fails you, you will seek comfort in others who were also wronged. Today, I only read the reviews here to justify my terrible experience. I confirm. This is the worst managed Subway I have ever experienced. You only need to visit a Subway once to understand how a sandwich is built. Bread, meat, cheese, "would you like it toasted?", sauces (sometimes at the end), veggies, "would you like to have a meal today?". I was very hungry at the time of my visit. By the time I got to choose my veggies I nearly lost my appetite. But I was far too hungry to let my eyes get in the way of my appetite. The chopped lettuce was yellow and stale, but I bit my tounge? lip? and charged on. Then I noticed. Tiny, freshly spawned flies covering the rest of the vegetables. Note to self: flies love cucumbers. I'm OK with a few flies. Okay, maybe just two flies, but I cross the line at G1 and G2 (drosophilla). I ask for fresh vegetables. I would be unreasonable if I asked for all the vegetables to be changed (these vegetables need some serious work). I then ask "Never mind, can I just have some fresh cucumbers? These have flies all over them." Worker responds "I can get you the ones on the bottom." *floored*

I feel that today will certainly be my last visit to this particular Subway location. Although I have visited other locations, and am a regular at some, I think I will stray away from this Subway for the time being. I ventured to this location on the afternoon of Tuesday, 3/26/13: SERVICE: Not good. Well, truthfully it started off well with the 2 staff greeting me with "hello", but it all goes downhill from there. Of the 2 staff that assisted me today, only 1 spoke mostly English for the duration of my visit, while the other spoke I believe their native dialect from the region or country they are originally from (note: I will not make assumptions about their country of origin since really that has nothing to do with my review). The first girl (who spoke little or no English) "started" to take my order, but the other girl immediately took over for some reason. She took my order (foot long black forest ham on wheat) and proceeded to assemble the sandwich. While she was asking me what cheese and sauce I would like, the other girl asked her something (in the native language), and then I was directed to pay for my sandwich while it was still being assembled and not ready yet. I did think this was quite STRANGE to say the least, but thought nothing of it since I just really wanted to get home. The most awkward thing though was that the girl continued to ask me what I wanted on my sandwich while the other girl was processing my transaction and informing me of my total, asking if I wanted to purchase a meal, and giving me my change. Overall it was a very, very strange/weird/odd situation. FOOD: Below expectations. I think the bread may not have been made/baked that day. The bread seemed flaky and when I finally arrived home, the sandwich kind of fell apart because the "spine" of the sandwich broke, which released all of the condiments from the sandwich. sigh. Bottom Line: Not visiting this location in the near future.

I've been to a lot of Subway's. I don't think that's a bad thing because as fast food goes, Subway is probably a better bet than other options. Moving on... I ventured here for breakfast one morning because I knew I wanted breakfast sandwich. Not many places in Aiea where we live have this option. I figured Subway would be a sure bet. I was misguided this time around. I ordered my sandwiches, "2 egg & cheese, just egg & cheese, please." So she starts pulling out some shredded steak. I said again, "Just egg and cheese?" She replied, "Yes." Okay, so after she begins warming them up I begin thinking something is amiss. I am the only one here, and it's not likely that someone phoned in a steak & cheese that early. I said, "Are you sure those are for me, because I ordered egg and cheese." She said, "Ohhh, I thought you said steak and cheese." While ordering steak & cheese isn't out of the question for someone wanting to eat at 8:30 in the morning. However, I don't eat steak, and it was 8:30 in the morning. So she throws the sandwich away and begins making the correct ones. She asked if I wanted them toasted and I said sure. She makes the sandwiches, bags 'em up and I pay. I drive the short distance up Aiea Heights drive to our house right behind the new library. I get in the house and we open our sandwiches to discover that the eggs are still cold and the bread is soft and not toasted in the least. It appears that she put them in long enough to melt the cheese and nothing more. Seriously, the eggs were still cold! Cold eggs are gross! There is absolutely NO way that in the less than 5 minutes it took me to get home, the sandwiches were that cold. Gross. This was by far the biggest Subway fail I have ever experienced, and I will certainly not be going here again. Thank goodness the one by my office is much better. They had their own minor issue, but that's another review for another day! Look for a different Subway, maybe stay clear of this one.

Ordered 3 footlong sandwiches, all the same, Ham, Lettuce and Olives. Noticed when she was laying the ham, she put 4 slices on one half, and 3 on the other half. On the second and third loaf she spaced out the 7 pieces. There should be 8 slices per footlong. Then I noticed the lettuce she put on the first sandwich was all brown. So i asked about it, but she keep on going. She said to let her know if my friends complain about it. What?

01/08/2013- Called at 8:30 am and spoke to the store manager Jay. Informed him that a complaint has been put in via website and yelp. He was very apologetic. IF YOU EVER NEED THEIR PHONE NUMBER ITS LOCATED ON THE COUNTER, IT STATES "TROUBLE WITH PARKING, NEED DELIVERY OR COMPLAINTS CALL 277****." THIS SUBWAY DESERVES NEGATIVE STARS BUT SINCE YELP WONT LET ME SUBMIT WITH OUT SELECTING ONE STAR... Entered subway while skinny female worker dark hair with no name tag sitting table with her bf while chubbier female worker with thick eyebrows and mustache helped other customer. Skinny employee went behind counter to take my order. I ordered 1 six inch tuna on flat 1 six inch pastrami honey oat and 1 six pastrami inch wheat. I noticed that she gave me 2 oats instead of wheat. I kindly told her that I ordered one wheat. She started off by telling me with a rude obnoxious attitude the difference between wheat and oat. So I told her that I wanted 1 wheat and that's what I said in the beginning. she raised her voice telling me its not what I ordered. She took the pastrami and cheese off one honey wheat and slammed it on the wheat bread. Then while ordering the condiments she yelled with an attitude I can't hear you with an attitude. So I spoke louder. Then I asked her for a supervisor. She yelled at me there was none. I asked for a manager she yelled there is none. Then she yelled what if I'm the supervisor, So I announced back there is always someone higher than the supervisor the manager or owner. So I yelled we are leaving and while walking out the skinny employee started yelling "fuck you fuck you.". I tried to contact other subway locations to obtain a phone number to call but unable to get since all subways have different owners. This location has horrible service and that skinny employee working the shift at around 530pm on 1/07/2014 should be fired. That is not how you treat or speak to your customers. If you are not happy with your job then QUIT.

I work around the Aiea area several times a week and found this is the easiest place to get a quick lunch. The owner from Iran denies being the owner. But he is always training some half-wit to count change and then ends up firing them. He's not the "owner" though. Current American politics aside, Iranians are master business people who are adept at handling customers and very thorough at bookkeeping. Must be the long history and tradition of trading in the desert. The employee the Iranian "not owner" was training gave me a dollar more than he should have. The Iranian man came swooping out of the back corrected the situation fast. It's like he "felt" wrong change being given. I came back two days later and the wrong change man was gone. I ordered my usual and the Iranian man's daughter comes out of the back and handles the money transaction. She must be 11 years old and handled my order better than most Subway employees nationwide. I like bottled water instead of soda. Iranian owner/not owner said I owed $.40 more. After the girl gave me my correct change, she went to the back to play with her toys. The Iranian man's customer service skills are excellent. He acknowledges customers immediately and is on your sandwich fast. Meanwhile keeping a pleasant conversation with you. I wish more Iranian people would run businesses in Hawai'i. Just watch out for those child labor laws.

When I'm shopping here and when I feel like I need to eat healthy, I choose to eat Subway at the food court at Pearlridge. Sonny is one of the workers that's always cheerful, and welcoming when you first make your way towards their spot. It's one of those little things that count that make you happy about what you're going to eat even though it's not a yummy, juicy, calorie-filled cheeseburger. Like most Subways, this one keeps the line moving so waiting patiently isn't a problem. Depending on what time of the day you're at the food court, it's quite busy around lunch time (of course) so at least when I eat here, it's in a bag to go so if we can't find a seat I can take it home. Eat Fresh!

Girl #1 the one that does all the talking Girl #2 makes the sandwich and never speaks If we were allowed to give no stars I would do so. We came here four days ago after a long day at Kualoa Ranch and wanted some subway and this was on the way home. We stopped in and there was no workers to be found. After a few minutes looking at the minute and yelling "hello!" two gals come out and stares and says "you know what you want?" no smiles, no greetings, nothing. Boyfriend proceeded to put his order in which is tuna on wheat. Girl replies with "we're out of wheat", he asks what is available and she replies "everything else but wheat". The tuna looked really dry and brown like it's been sitting out for awhile. We felt a bit iffy but decided to just not make a big deal and get something to eat. He told girl #2 he only wanted a little bit of lettuce and topped with mustard. This girl working really really really and I mean really slowly piles his sandwich with lettuce to the point where it looks like it's just a lettuce sandwich. He told her that is too much and she goes and throws half of it back into the lettuce box. She grabs honey mustard instead of regular mustard and piles that onto the lettuce. He told her that isn't regular mustard even though it was labeled regular mustard. Girl #2 stares at girl #1 and she says sorry we will scrape it off. She brings out a knife and scrapes all the mustard off while wiping it on a brown dark dirty towel in between. YUCK! 5 minutes later she was done scraping it off and girl #2 grabs the sweet onion sauce (wrong sauce again!!) and piles it on the sandwich. I looked over and my bf is pissed. I mean when he gets hungry he is grouchy and for them to mess it up on top of terrible customer service, he told them he doesn't want the sandwich anymore. No apologies. no nothing so we walked out. NEVER EVER AGAIN HERE!

Hands down...one of the worst subways(Aiea) on the island! It's no wonder why it's empty a lot of times. The owner makes a messy sandwich...definitely didn't get any training before taking over franchise. They always don't have bread choices...only wheat and white. Been there past 3 times and the owner always shorts me 1 slice of meat. Sounds crazy but if he does that to everyone everyday, it does save him $$!

I have been to many subways in my life and this is the absolute worst! The sandwich artist was very slow and did not know how to cut and fold the sandwich correctly. Also, I guess since times are hard the amount of vegetables given is very sparse. I mean c'mon, if you are going to charge an extra $1 at least keep the amounts the same as the mainland subways...I hope management trains the workers better...

I work like 2 minutes walking distance from this location and have been on a healthy food binge. Yes, this location tends to be slower in pace, but I always get pretty good food. I always get a Turkey Breast Salad meal with a Minestrone soup. I like when the girls make my salad because they put a good amount of veggies, but when the "manager/owner" makes me anything, it tends to be very light in ingredients. There also seems to be a new girl every few weeks. There is only one girl that has been there for a while and in the mean time, the others leave. I can see why. I have witnessed the manager talking to his employee about work things in front of customers and there seems to be a language barrier. He clearly is ESL and so are most of his employees. They both didnt understand what one another was trying to say and got frustrated. While speaking of the manager, he tries to make it so that people will come back by giving free cookie coupons, free newspaper, and delivery to your car. It doenst seem to be working and makes you all look a little desperate (no offense). Also, he likes to have his daughter who looks around 10 or younger run the register which is great in teaching her, but watch those Child Labor Laws just in case. To me, I will always probably come here at least once a week, but this place does need some improvement.

Not sure if this is for the Pearlridge Shopping Center Downtown location but this review is for that location. This is one of two Subway locations at Pearlridge mall. This one is located upstairs in the food court area. It is right next to the consolidated movie theater in the corner. If you are up the escalator or taking the stairs, it should be one your left hand side. I don't go here often but it's pretty much your typical Subway. I combo is usually either Black Forest Ham, Cold Cut, or Egg Omelet with Italian Herbs and Cheese bread, always toasted. I get everything on my sandwich with just a little bit of jalapenos. A 6 inch Subway is about 4 something, almost 5 bucks. It's totally worth the cookie if you do the little survey that you do online with the receipt. The prices for the rest of everything is decent. The one thing that differs from other franchise places like Subway is the customer service. The one over here is Ok. In one particular visit, I am so used to having the convenience with the workers call out what I want for the sandwich, but in this one I would have to call out what I want with everything. Nonetheless, Subway at Pearlridge is just one of the few places where you can "eat fresh."

Is this the Pearlridge location?? I think so... Slow sandwich maker... don't like that it's $4.75 for the same 6" that I paid $4 for at both the Waipio and Downtown locations. Boo!

The WORST! The Mililani TC was bad but this loc makes one wonder why they are still in business. ESLer had nothing but contempt for us and we did nothing wrong. He had no desire to make a half decent sandwich and it was poorly made. Never again!
