We eat here several times a month, breakfast, lunch, and supper. My inlaws live just south of town and eat here several times a week. NOT fancy, but GOOD FOOD, and friendly service fast at a very reasonable price. The fried chicken is BEAUTIFUL and EXCELLENT, and the veggies are great. And yes, they have greens here, but they do change the menu. Sweet ice tea can't be beat, and all you want. Lunch can be crowded 'cause Everybody comes here. But it moves fast. Hamburgers are just like you make at home. Cafeteria style or from the menu. I left my phone on the table last nite so I'm goin' back for breakfast this mornin'!!

I went for lunch with my family after we were done visiting Louisville, and it was fantastic. Some of the best home cooking ever. Gotta go to Peggy's in Wrens!! I even joked we should bring one out to California where I live and call it Peggy's West, and the staff all laughed! Now I am getting hungry....

By far some of the best "soul food" I have had in a long time!!! It tasted just like my Grandma's cooking...it was like sitting in her kitchen on Sunday afternoon again.

Driving to Florida, I was advised by a SC welcome place staffer that there was very little "soul food" available but she was wrong. By 6pm, I was seated at Peggy's with a piece of fried chicken, scalloped potatoes, collard greens and a dish of diced tomatoes and okra. They were very satisfying but a fresh pound cake had just been delivered warm to the restaurant. Exquisite. And it was a total of $10.50 for the best meal I have eaten since leaving Pittsburgh.

I live in Omaha Nebraska. Every summer when I visit family in Jefferson County we always have at least one meal at Peggy's. The food is so good!

Only place I've tried in Wrens to date so, I can't compare it but, compared to other country style joints in GA, it is right in the middle. I've had better - I've had worse. Price is good and the food is not bad. Staff is exceptionally friendly. Would have given another star if they had offered greens - it's not GA without greens!

Stop in for the first and the food was excellent. I definitely would recommend Peggy's any day.

By far the best restaurant in Lil Ole Wrens to eat...my hometown!! Down home soul food cooking, where some of the cooks are family friends and relatives. I had beef tips, rice, cream corn, turnip greens, biscuits and sweet tea....damn good food. To top off the great meal...the owner Miss Peggy was going table to table and thanking everyone for coming to her restaurant, which has been a mainstay for the past thirty years or more. Every time I'm home, I eat here at least four or five times for lunch and dinner.

While visiting Stapleton, I was lucky enough to stop at Peggy's and good lawd was it delicious! The restaurant is nothing fancy but the food was delicious and perfectly priced. I can't wait for some more Peggy's next time I'm in town :)

I currently live in Houston Texas, but I did visit my Grandma in Wrens on thanksgiving. The food at Peggy's is as good as it gets for down home cookin. Veggies striaght out of the field and fried chicken that would make the Colonel Sanders weep with joy. If you are visiting Augusta, Ga the 45 minute drive to Wrens would be very worth it, if you eat at Peggy's!!!

Not fancy outside or in, but delicious! My first time to eat here, and today the buffet had fresh fried chicken, fried pork chops, beef tips over rice, squash casserole (with just the right touch of onion), tiny fresh butterbeans, blackeyed peas, cabbage, candied yams, mac& cheese, and cornbread muffins and biscuits. Meat and 3 was $7.99. They bring a tea or water pitcher to your table. The sweet tea was just right sweet, too, not syrupy sweet. I didn't see any desserts, but the candied yams filled that bill. Definitely on my list for when I'm coming thru Wrens! Park in back and walk to good home cookin'.
