I've remembered having DK's as a kid since the mid 80's. So passing through Waycross again I had to try it some 20 years later. It was good but my parents said since the original owner died many years ago, he took all the recipes to the grave and it just wasn't the same. The sandwiches were big and really reasonably priced. They were average tasting, but I really appreciated the nostalgia factor. Staff was cordial.

Signs say the souths oldest BBQ and when we drove up, we weren't sure about walking in. The yelp maps were not right, but we eventually found the place via google maps. The street sign says "folk street". This part is not about the food but do NOT go to the restroom here. It is a scarey thing. DH ordered a rib plate and I ordered the special of two medium BBQ sandwiches for $5. The baked beans were seasoned with brown sugar and had plenty of ground beef. I liked them. The sandwich was pressed flat on a grill. The ribs were tender and tasty. This place only has 4 booths and most of the clientele order takeout.

1st the place is on folks street. 2nd the restroom is only accessible to employees now The food is not that good. Hog N bones has got it beat by a long shot. I went in on a Tuesday and the ribs tasted like they were cooked last Saturday...heated...put in the fridge and repeated for several days. DRY. I thought maybe I came in for the wrong meanwhile is was not enjoying the ribs..most people got the BBQ sandwich 2 for 5. Also Bad and Dry. The sign says the oldest BBQ in the south. Was that also when the BBQ was cooked? Dry Dry Dry. PS...The Mustard Sauce is French's. BAD.

Went here for the first time. The place is tiny! Only 3 or 4 booths to sit at. We got our order to go. We went during the lunch rush so they seemed slow. The staff wasn't very personable but they were quick with taking orders. On the plus side, the food is good.
