Everything at Austins is great. I just wish it was a little brighter.

Well, after my last pick from yelp(Outz too), my husband was very skeptical of my next restaurant choice, Austin's Cattle Co. He even shot me that, "What the hell are you thinking?" look when I ordered the Ahi tuna from a steakhouse. Seared ahi is one of my favorite dishes so I order it frequently, once a week, if possible. This was by far one of the best seared Ahi that I had ever had. Nice and firm, thick, seared, but still perfectly rare with an amazing creamy ginger wasabi sauce drizzled all over it! Yum!!! I also tried their deep fried veggies just to balance out the healthiness factor of the tuna. They were also deelish!! Lightly battered and crispy. My husband ordered the ribeye sandwich which didn't disappoint either. It was an actually piece of ribeye steak, not some tiny chopped up bits of meat thrown together for the sake of a cheesesteak sandwich. Smothered in cheese & topped with some onions on a grilled bread, it was damn GOOD! He ordered it medium well, and it was cooked to perfection. Juicy, but still pink in the middle. Our little one got the normal, a grilled cheese, but they make theirs on Texas toast and he devoured it! That's saying a lot for our picky boy because usually it takes him 1-2 hours to eat anything! He even asked for more grilled cheese when it was all gone! Unheard of! He even finished his fries. We were in and out of there in under an hour! Nothing bad to say about this place. Waitress was great. Kristen even gave us to go cups of our drinks for the road. Interesting decor. Country music playing in the background and I still liked the place. Eat here and you will not be disappointed! Almost wish this place was a chain so that we know where we could go get another great meal, but then their food would most certainly be ruined. Awesome eats Austin Cattle Co!!

Food was average. Service was average. Nothing to write home about but if you want some grub and beers with the boys, while watching a game... this is your spot.

I had extended working deployments in Valdosta, for periods of 8 weeks, 3 times a year. I had a company card, and my hotel did not have a kitchen, so I ate out quiet a bit (and have the belly to show for it now!). When I found Austin's Cattle Company, I rarely ate anywhere else. Each steak was made perfect, each entree I ordered was always perfect. And I was getting it for take-out! I ate at the joint a few times, and it was just as good. The bread, the salads, the appetizers, and the steaks are easily top of their game. It's right off of I-75, and it's easy to find. The staff is great and was on a first-name basis with most of them throughout my time in Lowndes County. If you're reading this review and going "meh, that's just one guys opinion", check out other reviews of this place. You won't be disappointed. Hands down, best steaks in the 229/912/904 area codes.

Happen upon this place while going thru GA, we glad we did -- friendly service from Shelby. Burgers were cooked perfect and juicy. We all had salads--fresh and tasty as well. ice tea was cold and sweet!! We will be back when going thru without question!!

I've been here before as i travel through on business and the food is always pretty good and the service is good at the bar (that's the only place I have sat and comment on). This the the FIRST time I have heard of "an extra shot for a dollar"! Im A little pissed because I ALWAYS order a bourbon neat, so who would not add another shot for a buck?? So be sure to ask if interested. I have not heard anyone complain about the food, but sometimes service is a little slow. Hit this joint up for sure!

Wow an excellent steak and from inside a hotel? Nice! I gotta say I walked in a lil nervous in what I was getting in to but great service, cozy western motif and a tender, juicy, and cooked to perfection steak at a reasonable price. Worth the stop for sure

A typical sports bar, which isn't a bad thing, I'm just not sure I'd show up here for "Date Night" For me, when it comes to dining there are two categories - Road Food and Family Food. The difference being Road Food is usually a meal without the family and Family Food means food with the family, duh, but that also entails concerns about diet restrictions, calories, vegetables and finally cost. Great service, from being seated immediately to being served a fresh plate of warm bread these folks nailed it. My steak burger was better than most $12.00 completely organic, free range beef burgers from other places. The fries were just a big bag of OK, my opinion is that most restaurants are really missing the boat when it comes to French Fries......... don't skimp!

If you are on I-75 and have time for an excellent meal, stop at Austin's. We've eaten here dozen's of times and never had a bad meal or bad service. I love the chopped steak with mushrooms and onions, sweet potato fries and salad. Warm pumpernickel loaf with butter, yum. They make good drinks and the beer is cold. If you are lucky, the bartender will tell you about her baby goats or the most recent high school football game. Valdosta is a sweet town with real people. Oh yeah, back to the food: steaks are amazing and the ribs are great. Get some steamed veggies or a baked potato with all the extras. I think prime rib is good, too. They don't stay open too late, so check for hours. It's good, it's worth it.

Great place. Great service. Steak cooked just right. Not noisy. Attached to a reasonable and comfy motel. Our waitress was awesome. We'll be back.

Solid southern sports bar. I had actually never stopped in Valdosta before - this time on the way down to FL we decided to pop in. Austin's is great. Old men sitting at the bar. Sports memorabilia everywhere. They do however need to put some Alabama stuff up - they had multiple SEC schools and we got no love. Roll Tide. Steak and seafood. Had these shrimp skewers fire-side that were absurdly delicious and were quickly devoured along with pints. Cheers to this place. As I make the ATL-Sarasota drive often, I now have a dope spot to come hang out and enjoy a 45min break from 75 South.

Delicious food fun atmosphere! Love the chocolate cobbler!! Good lunch specials. Love the sports bar in the back.

We have eaten here several times when we have been in the Valdosta area. Food and service have always been good whether we were a large party or small. The steaks can't be beat.

This is the place to eat beef in Valdosta. We travel through here 4 times a year and love their fillet mignons each time. They are cooked perfectly to your specifications; even the optional veggy medly is tasty. The salads are very good. And I've never had a bad Cosmo there. The service is always excellent and super friendly. I'd give them a 5 if they had better red wine selections and served them at the right temperature. Beer choices are good tho
(4)Al P.
Really friendly greeting and service. The country fried steak was terrific and the outlaw onion was great. Very nice experience overall.
(5)Rachael D.
Stopped here while passing through. Beats fast food any day!! Beef tips were excellent! Great sear on the meat and the peppers and onions were cooked perfectly. Chopped steak was okay, seemed a little bit cafeteria-ish to me. Powdered gravy and canned mushrooms. But the meat was flavorful and good quality. I look forward to trying more menu items on my return trip. I am inclined to think the more simple menu items would showcase the meat better than the gravy doused items. I want to get a plain ole juicy steak soon!

Holy Cow - what wonderful bovine sacrifices...stop driving and come here for lunch or supper! Incredible beef, tender and tasty. Shrimp basket delicious and quick and friendly service. Right off 75, west side and easy to find.
(4)Heather L.
Delmonico's were awesome!! Service was the abs BEST!!!

Might be known for steaks, but pass on the seafood. Ordered Combo Grilled Shrimp and Grouper. The shrimp was way overcooked, chewy, but edible. The Grouper was not fresh as advertised on the menu. I couldn't even eat it. My money says, this is farm raised crap from some 3rd world country. Sad because the gulf coast is so close. I ate at the bar, solo, on business. Service was obligatory at best and I had to wave down the staff for everything I needed. Barkeep noticed my uneaten fish when she cleared my plate and asked if it was okay. I said, "no, it was nasty". She brought me my check, full-charge, I paid and left. If you go, eat a steak and hopefully you will have a better experience.

Note: My review is based on bar service only. I was staying at the Clarion (literally next door) for a work trip and stopped in after having dinner up the road to see if any other staffers from my office were there eating. They were, and the bar area -- which is completely separate from the dining area -- was just wrapping up a event they'd had there. They cleared off a big table for us and the service was awesome. Our waitress was super nice, friendly and totally put up with us being "that group" that was constantly throwing more orders out at her. They even served us a round after the bar had technically closed. They have a bunch of big screen TVs for watching the game on.

Great place to eat, definitly recommend the Filet. Fish and shrimp were great too. Awesome service!

I was traveling for work and stayed at the Holiday Inn down the street. They told me that Austins Steaks' were the best in town so I decided to try this local restaurant. Austins is connected to a hotel and looks large from the outside. The decor on the inside is very southern and cowboy. It is a very unique restaurant. As for the food, I have to say that everything other than the steaks were a miss. The steaks are seasoned and priced well. I ordered their ribeye and was not disappointed. Its no Ruth Chris but is a step above outback or similar chain steakhouses.
(3)Q Y.
After having both the prime rib and ribeye twice (you read correctly I've been 4 times), I can positively say that flavor consistency is spot on. These are some of the juiciest well done steaks I've ever had. The rub or herb combination that they're using is superior in quality and flavor. The service is very good, and the price is inexpensive.
(4)Scott S.
Based on a yelp review we had dinner tonight. Probably one of the best burgers I have ever had paired with a fluffy hot baked potato. Service was just ok. 3 stars for the food. Better service wouldhave given it another star
(3)Kiki T.
Generic steakhouse. Nothing was bad but nothing was great either. The staff was very friendly but very inattentive and not very good at their jobs. We were passing through and looking for something different than fast food to eat. We don't really regret it but wouldn't recommend it to a friend.
(3)Michelle M.
The food and service here was absolutely excellent! This was my and my husband's first time here. This was his late Fathers Day dinner since he had to work overnight. I suggest those who have not been here and want to go somewhere different with good food, come to Austin's.
(5)Greg M.
Simply amazing. I am a business traveler and this has become my favorite place for steak anywhere! Keep up the good job, I will be back.

Hostess Ashley is very unpleasant. I walked in with my party of 4 plus a baby and she asked us if we wanted to sit in the bar, and we said dining room would be fine. She rolls her eyes and drops the menus on the table and walks away without bringing a high chair for my nephew. So we move to a bigger table ourselves so we can slide my nephews car seat in the booth and she rolls her eyes at us. I am VERY upset. I love Austin's and she ruined my mood for the rest of my visit here. I'm sure everyone else who is greeted by her lifeless personality would agree with me when I say she needs to be retrained or fired.

Been in valdosta for a long while and heard a lot about it and had driven by it lots of times. Finally tried it, I feel like the prices were a little high and the food was mediocre. I wouldn't rave about it, went there months ago and haven't been back and don't plan in it. If I want a steak, I'll go to Texas Road house. Sirloin for less than ten bucks and tastes better than this place.
(1)Jonathan D.
I love this place. I have the filet Pittsburgh style. The loaded potato is good. The cheeseburger is also great. The whole family enjoys this place every time we come.
(5)Orlando S.
Had the 10oz Filet absolutely terrific, great piece of meat to start and cooked to perfection. my wife had shrimp that was very close to perfect. Service great. Highly recommend

Stopped for dinner on a drive to NC, great location right off 75, great service, great food!
(4)Jay C.
Very good steak. Could use a few more healthy side dishes. Service is good. Prices are fair. I had the T-Bone. I asked for medium, got medium well (almost well done) but the flavor was so good that I enjoyed it anyway. No steak sauce needed. Good bread too. Folks in the table next to me had seafood - looked and smelled delicious. I'll be back.

Tried the place based on previous reviews and a hotel clerk recommendation. Got seated immediately. Service is first class. Ask for Sharie (pronounced Cheri). While on business travel, I usually eat alone, and I typically drive through somewhere, and take it back to the room. (Come on now business travelers, you all have done it) The prime rib was excellent. Ask for it "Big City Style." Nice atmosphere, not too loud. Good place for families. I would have no reservations in bring my 13 grandchildren (all under 9 years old) here. I will also return if my travels ever brought me back to this area of the country. As for the seafood comment below, I have always been told; "if you can't see the ocean, don't order the seafood." A rule I have always lived by. So if you're in the area, definitely drop by and ask for Sharie (pronounced Cheri).

The steak burger was one of the best burgers I've had in a long time- I got it with smoked Gouda and bacon. Great service- I was really thirsty and our server Amanda refilled my glass of water as soon as it was empty every time. I do wish the baked potato came with a little more cheese and bacon, but a request for a little more when I needed it was taken care of very fast. We are just passing through on vacation. We will definitely stop in on the way back too.

My dad and I came here last night; found it on the GPS while driving through and it seemed to have good reviews online. We both got the steak burger, and boy, it was awesome! Juicy, savory meat with beautifully melted cheese. The fries were tasty as well. The food was great and the servers were very nice; best service I've had at a restaurant in a while. Our waitress even offered us free drinks for the road! I definitely recommend Austin's. Next time we drive through we're stopping in again.

What a pleasant surprise! On a recent trip to stone mountain, we decided to stop by Austin's for a late steak dinner. We enjoy local fare when traveling because we can get chain food at home. The staff was so nice and attentive and the food was terrific. We enjoyed the sirloin and sautéed mushrooms. The steaks were HUGE and cooked to your specifications. If you get a chance, skip the chains and try Austin's.
(4)Ed A.
Austin's has a couple of things going for it. The first is the service. My waitress was polite and courteous, making sure I was completely satisfied. The second positive is the steak. This was one of the best steaks I have had in a while. Well seasoned, and cooked just right. Like one other reviewer said, it is no Morton's, but for a reasonably-priced steak, you can't do much better. Now, the decor is nothing fancy, and the location in a hotel is nothing great either, but that didn't take away ffrom the food. Next time I'm in Valdosta, I'll be stopping by Austin's again.
(4)Steve B.
Just ok. My steak wasn't the quality I would expect and my wife's ribs were on the dry side. However prices weren't too bad. Service was very good.
