This was my first trip to Blue Ribbon Grill. And I will definitely be back if I am on this side of ATL. We were in town for a memorial service in Decatur. And the local family member said this was one of his haunts. The atmosphere is really cool. A ton of "Atlanta" stuff was all over the place. Historical, new, sports, etc. They were very accommodating for our large party. Although the waitress seemed a little disheveled from time to time. Their menu was VERY extensive. They had brunch going on. And their regular menu was covered with sandwiches, burgers, seafood, hot entrees, salads... so deciding what to get was the hardest part. We were told their go-to dish was the meatloaf. So I decided to get what they called the "meatloaf burger". I was thinking a slice of meatloaf about the size of a regular burger patty. But no... it looked like they put half of the loaf on a bun! It was HUGE. I would normally say that was a good thing. But it was nearly impossible to eat like a burger. But I managed. And it was worth it. Extremely delicious meatloaf. You could tell the fries were frozen out of a bag. But that was the only part that didn't seem fresh. Next time I may have to try the brunch. No one was drinking alcohol. But those of us in the family who would be interested, noticed their mimosas and bloody mary's were $2. So that will be another thing to explore on the next trip to Blue Ribbon Grill.

I took a group of 50 here for dinner on a Saturday evening. The waitstaff was friendly, courteous, and hard working, the food was fantastic, and the service was excellent. They got us in, seated, served, and out the door in an hour and a half - this during the Saturday evening rush period. I called ahead and reserved with the management, and they couldn't have been more helpful. I am from South Georgia, so this isn't a regular stop for me, but this is the second time I've taken a large group in, and I definitely will be back. I had the meatloaf burger, and I couldn't *believe* the size of the hunk of meat on the bun! I highly recommend it! The advantage to having a group was that I got to see a lot of different entrees, and they all looked delicious.

This place is awesome! We sat at the bar and had a great time! The Blonde bartender has been there for 13 years and she is hysterical! Made us laugh the whole time! The jumbo wings are AWESOME! And you can even order just all drums if you like!! The patty melt on marbled rye bread was FANTASTIC! We'll be back!!!!!!

IF I were able to give them a "0" {zero} I would on their poor customer service. I have a friend that went to work for this company last year and I've heard Outstanding things about the food...Well in all fairness, the food was Great!!! However, the service Sucked!!! I will never return. Be warned!!!

Crafters and knitters get out of my way! I'm not headed to Michael's, I'm going next door to Blue Ribbon Grill. Opened in 1985, I've foolishly overlooked this neighborhood bar and grill until now. Our waitress made me feel like a regular, my fried grouper sandwich was crispy on the outside, moist inside and HUGE, and the fries were so good - definitely not an afterthought. Do you find joy in squeezing and dipping? I'm talking about condiments and spices. Dip those fries in frite sauce (mayo), sprinkle salt on your grouper and add a few dashes of hot sauce. The menu here is tempting (chicken pot pie, fish and chips, juicy burgers) and speaks to my savory heart. They've figured out the formula.

Blue Ribbon is a very unpretentious restaurant and bar that serves up some of the best food: meatloaf, fried grouper, crab cakes, etc...They also have the best drink specials during brunch!

One of my neighborhood faves. This place has been around for almost 30 years for a reason. When you walk in, it's a home grown, mom and pop vibe, but to me, the presentation of the food is like that of say.... The Cheesecake Factory. Beautifully presented and super flavorful, it tastes like it was cooked with love. Try their crab cake salad, which is delicious. The Blue cheese burger is excellent with the crumbles and crisp, fried onions partnered with the awesome homemade fries. My very favorite, which I haven't seen since my first visit, was the Softshelled Crab sandwich (a seasonal special) . 5 FREAKIN STARS for that one! I hope that someday they bring it back.

The Blue Ribbon Grill has been in Tucker for nearly 30 years. I usually come here for lunch and get the meat loaf that is the best meat loaf I have aten outside my home. Great staff, reasonable prices too

A great neighborhood bar and restaurant that's very hard to beat. Great Pricing, a VERY GOOD bar, long list of martini's - love it on Friday night, but be careful, we're not the only ones who know about this place and it gets crowded. But that's part of the charm. It's not a bad crowd, just all of your neighbors stopping by for a drink and dinner!!

This place was packed on a dreary Sunday afternoon. Upon stumbling in, I soon realized why! $1.99 MIMOSAS, SREWDRIVERS, AND BLOODY MARYS! I couldn't believe it. This restaurant first opened in 1985 and has been going strong ever since. The food is pub-style with chicken fingers, fish and chips, or burgers. On the weekends, they offer a great Brunch menu from omelettes to Shrimp N' Grits. We stuck with the standards - burgers and chicken fingers. The french fries were very tasty! Soon after we were seated, I checked in and received a great feedback from fellow Atlantans that didn't know about the drink specials. I am fan. Though the place is pretty gloomy inside and there is no outdoor seating...if it is a rainy weekend in Atlanta, you can find me there!

Great family place to stop in for a quick meal. Home stile cooking and the food in not bad at all. Lots of room, but it can get very loud in here on the weekend around the bar, as lot of locals stop I for drinks and a quick meal. Great place to visit with really great food.

As I pulled up I realized I had been here about 4 years ago. No bad memories so in I went. I had the 2 grilled pork chop dinner. Really great, the chops tasted just like I had grilled them at home. The big surprise was the "real lettuce" side salad. No iceberg! Mixed greens, tomatoes, cucs, carrot and fresh sliced mushrooms. Nice comfortable low key place. Lots of regulars at the bar. Will come back for sure when in the area.

We had the black and blue salad. The beef tenderloin on top was excellent and the vinagerette really tied the salad together. Try the pig wings as an appetizer. Staff was great!

Man - this place is a true neighborhood gem. Another stop confirmed the first visit. A great, reasonably priced place to stop in with the family.

We visited for the first time based on a another's recommendation. Our server, Tracy was great! She was very attentive and knowledgeable. We told her it was our first visit and asked if she had any suggestions. She gave a few and went with 2 of them. First we started with the crab cakes. We really liked them. They were meaty and had no fillers. They were served with a citrus mayo sauce. I'd definitely order them again. Now, for the entrees. The fried grouper sandwich was amazing. It was a generous portion and quite tasty. The fish was cooked to perfection and the homemade chips were delicious too. We also ordered the meatloaf which is served with homemade mashed potatoes and italian string beans. I found the sides to be tasty and full of flavor. The meatloaf and gravy were tender, but I thought it could use more seasoning or sauce. I would definitely order the fish sandwich again!

Read great reviews about this place so I had to check it out. I ordered a bacon cheese burger and I can say it was huge and cooked perfectly. Was it the best burger. ..no. But it was good. One thing is that all my food was not as hot as I would like. Temperature I mean. It all seemed fresh to me but not hot. I had the chili also and it was getting a cup.

What to say about this place? A little off the beaten path. But the food is as tasty as it gets, with huge portions and a decent price. Try the chips with blue cheese as an appetizer and grab the meatloaf burger sandwich with fries.

Hit this place for the first time a few days ago. Food was very good. Service was about average. I had a club sandwich that was fresh and tasty. The fries I had to send back to be reheated. They were hot and crunchy the second time around. Will visit again.

Sat at the bar to eat. Bartenders were attentive and made a wicked-strong Long Island Iced Tea. We had the prime rib special and fried shrimp platter. Prime rib was fine, the shrimp platter a little too crispy, but delicious anyway. Sweet potatoe fries were delicious. T.V.s were everywhere, but sound was not on, so it made it easy to have a conversation. We are from out of town, but if we lived here we would definitely come back.

My girlfriend and I are regulars here. The food is just awesome. Have tried a number of things on their menu; Burgers, fish&chips, grill chicken breast, meatloaf, pot pie, etc. etc. They NEVER disappoint. I don't pass out 5 stars easily...

I Was looking for a place to have lunch and found them on yelp. Their food was very good. The customer service was pretty nice. I was ordering togo and was directed to the lady at the bar. She didn't rush us when we ordered and when I requested to have my burger cut into four pieces because I just went to the dentist, she laughed and said sure thing. She then went to the kitchen and told the cooks about my request to which I was given a weird look. When I received my order, I was a little shocked at how generous the portions were, but the food was so good I didn't mind. The potato salad was great, not too chunky, and the Alpine burger was fantastic. The reason for 4 stars is the location. It's a little hard to reach and exit, but otherwise, it's a great place.

Disaster tonight for dinner. Fish n Chips overcooked. Joe ordered pecan pie which took 30 minutes to get. Took forever to get a check then our card had the wrong check attached to it. Another 15 minutes to get it straighten out. ROXX is way better than this.

Updating an older review ... Went to Blue Ribbon Grill last night. Nothing much has changed, but they no longer serve Beck's Dark. I was bummed.
(3)
Paul G.
I've tried many items on their menu, and I have yet to be disappointed. So many items to discuss it'd be a waste of time to mention any one item. Go there, find something you like on the menu and it's a good bet it'll be outstanding. The bartender, though! Go for dinner and have a martini.

We have waited 30-40mins for our food and it was cold! The server took forever just to get our order because he was so busy chatting with his customers. I decided to order a turkey burger but he gave a suggestion to get the blackened fish instead and it was not good! Place is old and dirty. We are staying at a hotel near this restaurant and since we did not want to eat at a fast food we decided to give it a try. We should have went to Panera bread and ordered a much decent food.

I ha gotten mixed reviews on this place and tried it for the first time myself the other night on the way to work. While the people we're nice enough the hamburger I ordered was terrible. I had a taste for a Swiss & mushroom burger for a whole and researched it and saw that Blue Ribbon had one. I asked for medium well but what I received was medium bordering on rare. I tried to eat around it but even that wasn't good. Not impressed at all.

Ludlows place is for family's, for drinkers or for down home, good old country folk. It aint for trying to hook up with anything other than some good food, yawl. If you are looking for hot, try going some place other than Tucker, for goodness sake. Fugly is as fugly writes on yelp!

Good hearty menu, good variety, big ass martinis, nice servers, good sweet potato fries, baked potato salad yum, good Reuben, awesome chicken pot pie, amazingly delicious grouper sandwich.

One of the best burgers in Atlanta? Really? I could get a better one at Chili's. In fact, that's all Blue Ribbon Grill is: a glorified, local Chili's. The place is grungy, the menu boasts nothing special or particularly good and the service is below average. I'm not picky about my burgers, but when I'm asked how I want it cooked and I order it rare and it comes out thoroughly cooked (and a tad burnt), why even bother asking me? We waited over 10 minutes to be seated when the restaurant was nowhere near capacity and our waiter initially delivered the wrong entree to my girlfriend. Overall this place is amazingly unspectacular. Maybe grab a beer and some wings there after work, but don't go for anything more.

This is a fun little pub to try out in the Tucker area. It is inside the perimeter just before you hit LaVista Road and I-285. The service is what keeps me coming back. They have the best homemade chicken pot pie I have ever had (sorry mom). That is probably my favorite item on the menu. The other meals are "good" and it is always a great atmosphere. It gets a little crowded at dinner and during lunch. The local people are on a first name basis with the staff but it isn't to that "annoying" stage. Again, the best thing about this place ... atmosphere and the chicken pot pie!!!

Good place to go and has been there for years. From just looking at it, you wouldn't expect much, but you get pleasantly surprised once inside and eat. Like other have said, prices are reasonable and food is good.
(3)
David K.
This place is kinda nasty inside, it is really dark and grungy. This is a family hangout, so don't bother going here to pick up a babe or dude. They have a full bar, but discourage drinking by not offering to sell beer by the pitcher. They have 12oz domestics on tap at 4 bucks, ridiculous! The waitresses are rude and fugly as hell. Their burgers are awesome, but I can get a good burger anywhere with a pitcher of beer to go with it. If you are under 40 years old stay away from this dump.

I've been to Blue Ribbon 3 times. The 1st time I had good service and good food (got an entree size salad). The other 2 times not so good. Had to wait awhile to be seated even though it wasn't crowded. Both times our server was very slow and unattentive. Both times ordered the patty melt and fries. Patty melt was ok the 1st time but had a bad after taste the 2nd time. Fries were good. The restaurant definitely needs some cleaning up. If I go back, will try sitting at the bar......the service looks much better there.

I used to eat here all the time and met a friend there today for lunch. I ordered the meatloaf which is supposed to be one of their specialities. It wasn't good. It looked like dog food. It was so finely ground up it was more like mush. The mashed potatoes were not homemade and the Italian green beans were like baby food. To add insult to injury their canned brown gravy was awful. Please go eat there but do not order meatloaf. Their French onion soup and the Blue Ribbon chips with Maytag blue cheese are amazing!! There's lots to love about this restaurant especially the prices. It reminds me of a comfortable restaurant and bar from the 50's. Go try it!!

Good food I ordered the Grouper Burger which was a large sandwich with not much broccoli and coleslaw but the sandwich will fill you up. For desert we had the red velvet ice cream sandwich really good.

For real...give it a try. In the most complimentary way, this is the restaurant that your grandparents would take you to. Lots of dark wood and comfy booths. Great traditional menu. Friendly service. The chicken pot pie was to die for. Great upside down down flaky pastry bowl. Mashed potatoes were killer in the non-zombie way. Go to this place. It's worth it.

My 1st time eating at the Blue Ribbon Grill, its lunchtime and the place if full. Ordered blackened grouper sandwich to go which came with fries and cole slaw. Didn't take long before the food was ready. Yes the food is good and I will go back. Price not bad either. Yes grouper sandwich is large. "A" from the A (atl) that is.
(3)

My go to place for a great burger. The meatloaf (voted best of ATL) and chicken pot pie are both awesome. Great staff that gives us great service every time we go. A great, throwback, old style American bar and restaurant that I highly recommend.

I ate here.. boring food.. not tasty. Seems like a local place with regulars that just get it. I didn't get it.. they did have tvs and a long bar but I wont come back for the bland food.

The first thing you notice while entering the dark, dingy, dated interior at BRG are the career waitresses in mini skirts. L-O-N-G careers. . . Then looking around, it becomes apparent that it's not just the waitresses - my sister is 60 and she feels young in this place. We took our seats (which reminded me of furniture that was already old in the 1980's), and our friendly waitress greeted us. A lot. Drinks came quickly and we trudged through the innumerable lunch specials and regular menu items. There are salads, burgers, sandwiches, and traditional meat entrees. They offer Cincinnati chili, but my wife is from Cincinnati and I'm not even tempted to chance it. Being on a cholesterol watch, I got the bison burger and baked potato. My sister got the strawberry chicken salad. The waitress was quite attentive to my desire to avoid butter on the potato, and was helpful with some alternate suggestions. My sister's salad came out - it was huge, and looked pretty enticing. My burger came out cooked medium well, as it was ordered. It came with some nice-looking garnish, a big yellow bun, and my potato, which was salted on the outside. My sister seemed pleased with her dish. I, on the other hand, had some concerns. I fully appreciate that bison is not beef, so it was appropriately dry, not juicy like Wendy's. The only thing I think is fair to criticize is that it was a little TOO perfectly round - I suspect that it was purchased frozen into that shape. The bun was a bit too thick (and I'm not squeamish about a lot of bread), dry, and harder than the cheap burger buns from the grocery store. The worst part was the potato. It was so covered with black spots that I had a big pile of inedible matter on the edge of my plate. I understand that baking potatoes to order is not practical, so I can be forgiving. So, I could overlook the dried out skin. What I could not overlook was that part of the potato was not cooked. I am all about locally owned, one-of-a-kind restaurants. I appreciate the overly chummy, career waitresses in miniskirts. And for some reason, I get some comfort out of the fact that the place appears to be overrun with regulars. I don't even mind that the menu could benefit from an update. I just could not abide the poor quality bun and potato, or the undercooking of the potato. I'll probably be back, but I'd come back a lot quicker if the food got more attention.
(2)
John C.
I really don't get the following. This is a restaurant in need of an update both in quality of food and atmosphere. The people are quite nice, but the food is mediocre. The atmosphere is dark and dingy, with a smell most similar to an old pub, or maybe a basement, it's really hard to choose. I really love divey places when they're done right, some of my favorite restaurants are dives, but this is just a bad 80s restaurant that has a strange local following.

Everything was amazing. Great food, reasonable prices, huge portions and very friendly staff. We had breakfast, burgers, salads and fried shrimp. Everything was great. Only downfall, added gratuity. Hate that.

This place is gross, outdated, and slow. It seems to have a loyal following of older guests, and that's fine. However, if you can still taste anything, I'd suggest you go elsewhere. Honestly, even if you can't, I would still suggest you go elsewhere because of the bad service. Also, I was given the "bison burger." I am 100% sure that what I was given was not bison, despite being assured otherwise. Also, it was really overcooked and bad. My sweet potato fries were also bad. My boyfriend's chicken sandwich was inedible. We will not be returning.

Great find on the way home! Hubby had the chili(chockful of yummy in every bite), chicken pot pie(fluffy and heavenly crust) while I had the ribeye(perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked and TENDER!!!!!!) We will be back!!!!

Their food is delicious!!!!! Great down south home cooking. I had the meatloaf which was awesome. Mashed potatoes and gravy. They even have $1.99 mimosas, screwdrivers and bloody Mary's. I didn't partake in them but for the price you can't beat that. I think it's from 11am-3pm they also serve breakfast food too!!!!
(4)

This place has been around longer than me (believe it or not). The food is decent. I must admit that I've been a dozen or so times and always get the meatloaf. It's a huge plate of food. I really should try something else, but as they say "if it ain't broke..." They won't win any awards for being the new trendy place, but they don't have to. they are always full of what seems to be local regulars. My only complaint is that I wish they would update some of the booths. They are starting to be a little uncomfortable.

Went to Blue Ribbon last Friday to celebrate a birthday. This is not a place that I would normally go to, but it is certainly a nice restaurant with decent prices. The night we went they had wine specials for $14 a bottle, so we had quite a few of those before we ate. For starters the table ordered artichoke & spinach dip and fried green beans. The dip was very good and the fried green beans were the bomb, so tender and moist. For dinner I had the bison burger which was excellent. The service here was great. We had an older lady that served us and she was on the ball at getting us drinks and food; she even brought me a free beer. :)

I barely live in Doraville, right on the Tucker border. As much as I love the abundance of nearby Asian and Latin foods, sometimes this white girl needs some plain Jane American food from time to time. And frankly, there isn't much of that in my 'hood except for fast food and chain restaurants. Blue Ribbon Grill is a diamond in the rough in the Tucker / Northlake area. The restaurant has a dive-y feel to it. I have yet to have a bad meal here. I am rather fond of their Cincinnati Chili and the daily specials are always good. I made the mistake of ordering the meatloaf, one of their specialties. It is really good meatloaf, but you seriously get an entire meatloaf. But there is an option to get a smaller portion.

Yeah,,,, when I hear "Blue Ribbon Grill" i'm thinking maybe a diner / restaurant type place. This, this is a bar. Not to say that I don't like bars [alcohol is our friend]. This is defiantly a neighbor type place with an assorted cast of characters. Bongo S. said that this place has been around for quite some time & the interior shows it. The food isn't bad, the service is good and if you need a local hangout to watch a game this place isn't bad.

I have never had a bad experience here. The food (I have tried most of the menu except the burgers) has always been great. This place is comforting and welcoming kind of like coming home. I am not into "trendy" foodie places with their uncomfortable seating. My favorite item is the Prime Rib special on weekend nights. I like that, even though the place is lively, you can hold a conversation without yelling and I don't miss a TV in every corner. For all of those reviewers who say they will never return; good. Those of us who love the Blue Ribbon Grill will not miss you. Me and mine will be back time after time!

Blue Ribbon Grill "it is what it is"... Good comfort food, good selection of brews, friendly atmosphere and service. I stopped in for a casual dinner with a colleague after a long work day. We sat in the bar area and was promptly asked if we wanted a drink, great! Menu is pretty varied with some comfort food (like the meatloaf), chicken, burgers, steak and pasta. All the usual suspects. I was leaning toward the meatloaf until I saw it served at a nearby table... Two hungry people could split the portion.. I could hear the diner exclaiming how good it was... I ended up with a BBQ chicken dinner and a side salad. My colleague ordered the blue cheese burger. Our portions were fine and well prepared. Our server was very attentive and ensured that we were not without beer or water. Being able to watch both MNF and the ballgame was a plus as well.

Great place, try the blue ribbon chips and any burger on the menu, we tried several. The mac'n'cheese was great too.
(5)

Got the fried grouper sandwich. Grouper and fries were fine. However the sandwich roll was freezer burned and the tomatoes were past their prime - dark red and gelatinous. Also the cole slaw was a waste of ingredients - very bland. The tatar sauce was extremely bland as well. It's like they didn't try at all to bring out good food. It seemed like preparing it for us was a bother. I was embarrassed because I was treating a relative to lunch. It was a crappy, holiday experience and me nor mine will ever go back.

We had Sunday brunch and the best thing was the service. Once again a top-notch young woman I would give a job to if she was up here in NJ. I had eggs Benedict and the eggs were good but the Canadian bacon was so-so and the sauce had way too much salt and the English muffin not really toasted so it got mushy. My husband's onion soup was wonderful, it was the best item of all we had. People liked their French Toast and their iced tea.

A little long in the tooth, this place has been around for quite some time. Stopped in recently as options in this area are slim. 'Cheers' type crowd, older, which is fine by me as I's getting a bit long in the tooth as well. Service was great, food pretty good. If I didn't have to drive home I could spend the afternoon here getting trashed. Definitely not the place to order Grouper Oscar.
(3)
Adam K.
I'm being generous here. This place is like an Applebees (i refuse to eat at Applebees). Food was of the same low quality too. I ordered a steak and the green bean fries. It was well cooked, but not of good quality. The green beans tasted like they just came out of the freezer. I realize that the steak was only $20 but I expected better based on other reviews. I will not return here.

Headed to Blue Ribbon for their St Pattys Day festivities. It was VERY festive! Green beer, green martinis and corned beef, fish and chips and all. I also had the peach cobbler which came a la mode automatically without having to pay extra. My waitress, Cassandra, was awesome. So friendly and helped me find my correct tee shirt size. Was a fun atmosphere, drinks were priced well as compared to Druid Hills and Atlanta bars, and location was close to the [Northlake] mall. I'd surely return to watch a game or for another "holiday event". Tks for an eventful St Pattys!

Love it! Blue Ribbon has a 'Cheers' kind of feel to it. Stopped in last night for the first time to see an old friend and caught Critty jamming out. We had some wings, beers and strong drinks...all of which were awesome! Definitely recommend checking it out if you're in the area!

Really nice family hangout that appeals to locals for its great drinks, comfy atmosphere and good food. Prices are reasonable, service quick and pleasant, and all this adds up to a very satisfying restaurant night-out. Just know that nothing here resembles fine dining. There's a bar and a separate dining area. Martinis are a specialty, and they get good reviews (inexpensively priced, too). The menu is diverse and tasty. We like the chicken and beef pot pies, with the delicious, flaky crust serving as the plate for the pie. The chips with hot blue cheese are a winner, and the folks at our table raved about the salads (the swordfish salad especially). We haven't eaten everything on the menu, but we're fans. This is an establishment that just plain feels good, and we'd like to give it three and a half stars.

One of our go to places to go. Great cocktails, friendly staff, consistent food. Normally I would say average food for its menu, but last night we had rack of lamb, and scallops with risotta which were better than many of meals at many other restaurants. We also enjoy the Saturday prime rib special. Never feel rushed, always feel welcomed.

Jeez why are you looking at the walls and floor? Or the aging barflies? Don't do that! Just enjoy some pretty spectacular burgers (try bison in any of them for extra yummy goodness) or the decadent-yet-homey meatloaf (which handily comprises enough meat for about three meals). The eponymous salad is also amazing -- the Gorgonzola vinaigrette is truly excellent. It try one of the specials; those rarely disappoint. It's just regular food here, done pretty darn well.

We were heading to the Michael's on La Vista road and our fav diner closed so we decided to try this place because 1. it served brunch and had a bar and 2. it was next door the the Michaels. I had me reservations because of the outside appearance but it was pretty decent. There was nothing on the regular menu i could eat but there weekend brunch menu rocked!

Listen, if you live in this area there are not an overwhelming amount of options for a decent dinner that's not chain. I think this is good bar food - it's not a fancy restaurant and it feels like a bar. You look around this place and it's clear that a lot of the people in there frequent the joint. We went last night and split a salad and a burger. The sweet potato fries with the burger were amazing. The salad was actually really good too - I probably shouldn't be surprised but I was because it's such a bar setting. the burger was good too - not the best I ever had but something I'd go back for.

Great local sports-bar-esque food. You gotta eat somewhere, and they need the money!

Remarkably average. I had the fish, which was a basic piece of salmon, probably kita salmon from Kroger. Wife had black and blue salad, which came with raw chunks of beef on it (brown on outside, but entirely raw inside. We butterflied them and gave them a quick pan-fry the next night). They were doing good business, with a mostly blue and gray haired clientele, and our service from pony-tail man was excellent. Overall decent, but not tremendously exciting American style food. Kind of par for the course for the Northlake area.

My first impression when I walked through the door - Where are all the kids my age?! (20-30) Instead, I thought I walked into a nursing home or something. I can't help but to insert my opinion and say that those crowds should watch their diet carefully. I had the burger with the marbled rye bread... it was okay. I wanted it medium rare but it came out to be well done. The fries are pretty good too. Maybe I should come back and try some more stuff on the menu.

The food is always good and plentiful, they have fair prices, and the staff is always friendly and give great service. Usually see an older crowd here but I just go for the food anyways!

I have absolutely had it with this restaurant. The food is awful and rarely what is represented on the menu. Beef or chicken pot pie? If this isn't canned beef or chicken stew they should save themselves the trouble and use canned-it is that bad. Grouper Oscar? Yeah, right! Grouper with a tiny strip of packaged fake hollandaise sauce and sprinkled with a tiny bit of crabmeat. I asked for either the ribeye or the strip steak last night giving the kitchen the choice to send out whichever they thought was best and got a ribeye that was more than half inedible fat and gristle. Seriously, more than half inedible for $18.95. I could go on and on. The regulars generally agree that the "famous" meatloaf is the disgusting. Please, please someone buy this place and turn it into a decent restaurant!

This place is a gem in the rough of Tucker. Flew in from San Diego for business & stayed across the street. Restaurant popped up as a dining option on iPad; doesn't look too pretty from the outside, but truly worth eating at. Had the chili (needed some spice for my liking), the blue ribbon house salad was refreshing & had a delicious gorgonzola vinaigrette, the biscuits were homemade (guess that's normal for southern cooking?) and the special of the day: parmesan coated grouper with mixed veggies and mashed potatoes (typically comes w/ rice but I'm a potato gal & they generously substituted) was to die for. A bit heavy on the butter for frying purposes, but when your in the south.... Very friendly atmosphere, a "usuals" type of a place. Generous portions. Definitely recommend.

Walking in, is like taking a walk back in time. Late 70s, early 80s is the vibe I get. Almost a diner type of feel. I've read most all of the reviews, and I tend to agree that you get a fair portion for a reasonable price. However, service may not be so good for you if you are non-white. When I walked into this establishment during lunch hours, I was never greeted or acknowledged, yet servers continued to walk by me as if I were a ghost. Sensing racism, but not wanting to feel overly sensitive, I chalked it up and waited for someone to seat me. When someone did approach me, it was done with such disdain in comparison to the way I noticed other patrons, who were all white, being serviced. The restaurant was not very busy, nor was it approaching closing time, so I had a hard time understanding why it took literally fifteen minutes for me to be seated and to receive my drink. When the server took my order, (I ordered the bowl of chili--which was tasty) the waitress told me specifically, "You don't want that bowl of chili, why don't you just get a cup?" For a regular sized bowl of chili, I was certain that her implication was for me not to remain and eat for any extended amount of time. Why? I can't say for sure, but my intuition tells me different. I won't be back.

Ive been here a few times and always try to make it back every so often. The food is pretty good with nice size portions. I really like the meatloaf and the chicken pot pie. Good value and variety with the menu as most dishes are around $10.

Best Prime Rib in town. I enjoy going here every Saturday Night. Martinis are a great price all the time and are wonderful. The service here is great. Have never had a bad experience. Plus the location is close to where I live.

Sometimes you just need a good stiff martini, something you didn't cook yourself and someone to call you "Hon." Well, folks, welcome to the Blue Ribbon Grill. When I have such a day- Wednesdays for example- my man and I head over for some relaxation and chow. The place has not changed much since it opened in the early '90s and it looks - and sounds!- like it. That's just fine for us. Remember- this is NOT a big night out place. (Think Wednesdays!) Highlights include the homemade chips with blue cheese, the fried mushrooms (new and improved! portobellos baby!), the Blue Ribbon salad (SO YUMMY!) the fish and chips, grouper sandwich, the ribeye and the burgers. The daily specials are usually great choices too. I love that the staff has been here forever. BRG is just fine with us!

This is a great place to go, kick back with friends, and eat some good food. No - it's not 5-star high end cuisine. No - it's not an up-scale trendy pick-up bar. But it's also not TRYING to be any of those things. It HAS a bar, but it's for local friends to chill, catch the evening news, and have a drink. It's not the spot you are going to find your new European Super Model Wife. But they don't claim that you will. The bar is not the main part of this restaurant. The bar is just there so that they have one. The reason to visit is for some good food and to be in a relaxing environment with friends. Between my husband and I - we've tried almost everything on the menu, and so far, we can't complain. The French Onion soup is a good, solid standard. I'm told to try the meatloaf (but my husband is a poopie-head, because he knows I don't eat beef). My personal favs are the club sandwich (minus the pork products) and their crab cakes. They also have really good onion rings. All in all -- thumbs up. Stop on by.

My husband and I are regulars here because we love the fantastic service, friendly atmosphere, and incredible martinis. You simply cannot get a more tasty or inexpensive martini anywhere in Atlanta- we're talking $8 for 10 ounces of grey goose heaven!!! Prime rib specials on Saturday and Sunday nights made me gain so much weight I had to stop ordering them. Now I usually stick to the Blue Ribbon Salad (sprinkled with pecans, blue cheese & red onions). I would seriously weep if this place ever closes its doors.

I love the Friday steak special and the chili is great as well. You get a lot of food for your money and the service is good as well.

I had the special that day, Philly Cheese Steak. I didn't think the portions were big enough. I had a huge bun and not much meat. And the meat seemed dried out and not so warm. No peppers. Just onions and meat. I wasn't impressed. It also said it came with pickles. Four pickle chips. Woah! Dont' overdo it. The fries were good, though. For the price I don't think it was that good. $8.50 for the philly cheese steak. Luckily it was business.

Don't order the potato skins. Period.

Blue Ribbon has been around for years. Food has been consistently good during this time. Place could use a GOOD CLEANING as there is food and dust all over the walls of the booths. The waitstaff could also use a little cleaning up. Perhaps shorts and T-shirts are a little too relaxed for employees. 2 Stars due to cleanliness issues. Food is actually great.

(5)April B.

(4)Catherine A.
Blue Ribbon is a very unpretentious restaurant and bar that serves up some of the best food: meatloaf, fried grouper, crab cakes, etc...They also have the best drink specials during brunch!
(5)Kenya J.
(4)Ron G.
The Blue Ribbon Grill has been in Tucker for nearly 30 years. I usually come here for lunch and get the meat loaf that is the best meat loaf I have aten outside my home. Great staff, reasonable prices too
(4)Jim C.
(4)Brittiany M.
(4)Richard N.
Great family place to stop in for a quick meal. Home stile cooking and the food in not bad at all. Lots of room, but it can get very loud in here on the weekend around the bar, as lot of locals stop I for drinks and a quick meal. Great place to visit with really great food.
(5)Tom F.
(4)Zhanna B.
We had the black and blue salad. The beef tenderloin on top was excellent and the vinagerette really tied the salad together. Try the pig wings as an appetizer. Staff was great!
(5)Lesa P.
Ask for Tracey...the best American fare EVER. The best burger, the best lemon drop martini and the BEST fried grouper sandwich ON the PLANET... We are here at least 3 times a month...you gotta give it a try...oh and the service...? Impeccable.com

Man - this place is a true neighborhood gem. Another stop confirmed the first visit. A great, reasonably priced place to stop in with the family.
(5)Kelly M.
(4)Lurine F.
This place has the best crab cakes in the world!! Try them also they give great military discounts! I love that because I am a soldier!
(5)Zachariah B.
(3)Michael M.
What to say about this place? A little off the beaten path. But the food is as tasty as it gets, with huge portions and a decent price. Try the chips with blue cheese as an appetizer and grab the meatloaf burger sandwich with fries.
(4)Alan S.
Hit this place for the first time a few days ago. Food was very good. Service was about average. I had a club sandwich that was fresh and tasty. The fries I had to send back to be reheated. They were hot and crunchy the second time around. Will visit again.
(4)Karen T.
(4)Marcus H.
My girlfriend and I are regulars here. The food is just awesome. Have tried a number of things on their menu; Burgers, fish&chips, grill chicken breast, meatloaf, pot pie, etc. etc. They NEVER disappoint. I don't pass out 5 stars easily...
(5)Dorena N.
(4)Greg N.
Old school Atlanta spot with great tradition Very elaborate meal set ups with a good menu to choose from. And good staff as well.
(4)Steve D.
My wife and I have been coming here for 10 years. Food, service and staff all top shelf !! Louann C. Get a real life. No one here will miss you.
(5)Kathleen E.
Disaster tonight for dinner. Fish n Chips overcooked. Joe ordered pecan pie which took 30 minutes to get. Took forever to get a check then our card had the wrong check attached to it. Another 15 minutes to get it straighten out. ROXX is way better than this.
(1)Keith B.
Updating an older review ... Went to Blue Ribbon Grill last night. Nothing much has changed, but they no longer serve Beck's Dark. I was bummed.
(3)Paul G.
I've tried many items on their menu, and I have yet to be disappointed. So many items to discuss it'd be a waste of time to mention any one item. Go there, find something you like on the menu and it's a good bet it'll be outstanding. The bartender, though! Go for dinner and have a martini.
(4)Charms F.
(2)Dee K.
(2)Kathryn D.
Huge portions...bigger than my head. Beer cheese soup is to die for.
(5)Sterling L.
Ludlows place is for family's, for drinkers or for down home, good old country folk. It aint for trying to hook up with anything other than some good food, yawl. If you are looking for hot, try going some place other than Tucker, for goodness sake. Fugly is as fugly writes on yelp!
(3)Delphine L.
Good hearty menu, good variety, big ass martinis, nice servers, good sweet potato fries, baked potato salad yum, good Reuben, awesome chicken pot pie, amazingly delicious grouper sandwich.
(4)Sam A.
(2)Rich F.
(3)Frank L.
Good place to go and has been there for years. From just looking at it, you wouldn't expect much, but you get pleasantly surprised once inside and eat. Like other have said, prices are reasonable and food is good.
(3)David K.
(1)Pris P.
(2)Damon L.
Reasonable price. Huge portions. Great service and food.
(4)elisabeth s.
Go try it!!
(3)Laurie T.
Good food I ordered the Grouper Burger which was a large sandwich with not much broccoli and coleslaw but the sandwich will fill you up. For desert we had the red velvet ice cream sandwich really good.
(4)Christina G.
(5)Andrea M.
(3)Sean G.
My go to place for a great burger. The meatloaf (voted best of ATL) and chicken pot pie are both awesome. Great staff that gives us great service every time we go. A great, throwback, old style American bar and restaurant that I highly recommend.
(5)L A.
I ate here.. boring food.. not tasty. Seems like a local place with regulars that just get it. I didn't get it.. they did have tvs and a long bar but I wont come back for the bland food.
(2)Bill G.
(2)John C.
(2)Mary W.
Everything was amazing. Great food, reasonable prices, huge portions and very friendly staff. We had breakfast, burgers, salads and fried shrimp. Everything was great. Only downfall, added gratuity. Hate that.
(4)Charles O.
I don't see what he hubbub is about. Very mediocre. Cocktails are watery. I've been 3 times and don't plan to try again.
(1)Heather P.
(1)Darliene C.
Great find on the way home! Hubby had the chili(chockful of yummy in every bite), chicken pot pie(fluffy and heavenly crust) while I had the ribeye(perfectly seasoned, perfectly cooked and TENDER!!!!!!) We will be back!!!!
(4)Kayla P.
(4)Elizabeth W.
(4)Michael B.

Great place, great food and great people.

(4)Cherie M.
I love the Friday steak special and the chili is great as well. You get a lot of food for your money and the service is good as well.

I only go for the burgers................which are the best in Atlanta.
