I am not quite certain why your travels would ever deposit you in Thomson, GA; however, should fate deal you such a hand rest assured you can get a cold beer and some great food at Hogie Joe's. I had their namesake sandwich, the Hogie Joe, and it was fantastic. My girlfriend had the burger which was excellent as well. The atmosphere is great for taking in a college football game or a fun day out with friends. The waitresses were so friendly and the patrons the same. We needed directions as we are not from the area and everyone was more than happy to lend advice. This place was so good they can spell 'hoagie' however they please!

My friends and I were stopping through on our way to Durham town from Florida. I got the grilled chicken wrap with sweet potato fries. Although the sweet potato fries were a$2 extra charge, they were delicious and seemed to homemade. The chicken was so moist and seasoned perfectly. If I wasn't a state away, I would come here more often. Thanks!

Had the steak sandwich. It was tough, fatty, not prepared properly and unlike any French Dip I've ever eaten. The service was horrible. Will never be back.

Decor - is nice with pictures, license plates, and music billboards on the walls Service - good considering I came in during lunch rush. She never spoke to me after taking order until she brought the check. Never apologized for the 36 minute wait for the food to come out. Food - ordered the Hoagie Joe the signature sandwich. The quality of the meat (salami, ham, and pepperoni) was unimpressive. It took 36 minutes from when the server took my order to my food being delivered. All they had to do was griddle heat the meat and put it in the bun. Why did it take so lunch even during the lunch rush when you are a sandwich shop? Price - ok

This place is great! Drive by and you'll ask yourself 'and, why would I eat in that place?' There is very little curb appeal. Open the door and it's entirely different and a nice place inside. The night we were there it was packed and the service was very good. Friendly people, filled drinks on time and we didn't have to wait a long time for our food. Try the southwestern spring rolls. They are a really good way to start the meal.

9/24/2014 for lunch. Clean place. Nice flat screen TVs were all tuned to ESPN. Busy but not crowding. A few people came in to pick up carryout. Staff was attentive and kept refilling our soda. Food was delivered quickly. Great value. Only $19.43 (not including tip). I had the BLT with crinkle fries and a soda. The BLT was good, lots of bacon, but the bread and condiments were not what I expected as a Midwesterner. It was on buttered Texas toast not toasted white or wheat bread with mayo. My husband had a bowl of potato soup and a 1/2 size grilled chicken salad with a soda. He enjoyed the soup and the salad. We would go there again.

My husband and I love this place! We eat here usually once a week. The wait staff is friendly and they always treat us great. The food is delicious and from our experience pretty quick.

A friend and I stopped in for lunch recently on the recommendation of a mutual local friend. The atmosphere is total sports bar - the decor is great, the seating is comfortable, and our waitress was very attentive and sweet and we had the place to ourselves at a little after 1:30. Tucked into one corner of the restaurant is a full bar for those times you want to trade your ice tea for something slightly stronger. The menu is traditional sports bar fare - burgers and sandwiches with a few wraps and salads thrown in to make your cardiologist happy. Personally, I tend to default to tried-and-true-hard-to screw-up standards when eating at a new place. If they can master those, then I'll come back and do more culinary exploration. Today was my first visit, so I ordered a patty melt. Ooohy, gooey, cheesy, oniony, comfort-food goodness. What came out, with little wait I'lll add, was an affront to patty melt's everywhere. Instead of a merger of beef patty, cheeses, caramelized onions, and butter toasted rye bread we got a tiny hamburger patty plopped in the middle of a two pieces of toasted white bread with a few onions and a dollop of cheese. It looked less like a patty melt and more like the kitchen had run out of hamburger buns and decided to serve a hamburger sandwich. Worse than the visual disaster was the taste - which was nonexistent. Blah would have been an improvement and the accompanying fries were so greasy they should have been called crinkle cut lard sticks. The deep-fried corn nuggets were good and my ice tea glass was never left empty but I'm not sure that's enough to draw me back...

Great local place! They were extremely busy because of the Masters but prices were reasonable, food was good, and they had a good selection of TV's. It seems that they are the only place in Thompson offering a full bar so it is a quite popular spot!

We are here last Thursday and had to wait 40 minutes for our food. The server was pretty clueless and frazzled because she was one of two servers and the place was packed. Not enough seating for the space.

Got the grilled steak quesadilla. Lightly fried outside, steak, chipotle and cheese on the inside. Nothing special but not bad. If they put a little pico de gallo or something it would really have been phenomenal. With just just the steak cheese and chipotle sauce it was really kind of monotonous

With mixed reviews, we picked this place for our out of town dinner. This was a Saturday night with a town event that we did not know about soothing were busy in this small town. The joes was busy and we waited about an hour for our salads to arrive. They were ok, nothing great, but had plenty of chicken and steak.

This is a nice clean place with a friendly staff. The sandwiches we had were pretty good. Nice variety of beers. This restaraunt is an oasis in land of nothing. I met the owners, Joe and Amy. I think they are here every night. Recommended.

I had a hot ham and cheese and sweet potato fries and my bf had a BLT. The service was great, the food was great and the restaurant featured a lot of small town memorabilia which was nice as we were driving through on a road trip. They had a good beer selection and everything was clean. I would definitely come back if we ended up this way again.

I've been here a couple of times, and while this place started off great, I feel like it's not quite what it used to be. On the bright side, the servers are very friendly and patient, and the food comes out quickly. The prices are also pretty reasonable. However, the food leaves much to be desired--I had the chicken philly on my last visit, but there was very little chicken and a whole lot of onions, and while it was edible, it just wasn't that good. My mom got the philly cheesesteak and she said she felt the same way about hers, and my grandma got the hot ham and cheese sandwich, which didn't even *look* appetizing. Overall the experience was kind of lacking. If you do come here anyway (because let's be real, there just isn't that much else to pick from in a small town) , be sure to start with the fried zucchini--it's really good, although you only get 6 pieces.

Without a doubt one of the nastiest things I have ever put in my mouth is a hamburger from this joint. They apparently buy local, fresh ground beef, but it has some weird wild off-taste to me that was just unpalatable. I am not at all a picky eater and can make it through just about anything I am not too fond of... I simply could not eat this hamburger. The staff was friendly, the atmosphere was nice and clean. Service was slow.

Hogie Joes is a great little place with good food and friendly service. Although they have a full bar, don't let that worry you about taking your kids! They are very kid friendly. I love the Reuben, Sweet Potato Fries, Black and Bleu Burger and the steaks are great, too. Be sure to give it a try!

Excellent burgers, salads, and jerk chicken wraps. The fresh local beef is what makes it special. Most people have never had beef that's never been frozen -- WOW! Service is sometimes a bit off, but it doesn't detract from the food! They do need to turn the AC down though!!!!!
