Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Went to dinner with my wife, we had fajitas! The food was good and the service was excellent!

Will never eat there again. Why spend money on low quality food? I am sure if you drank enough alcohol you might not notice the food lacking in quality. While they served huge portions it does not make up for poor quality.

We have been here three times and it's a pretty nice location. Steak fajitas were fantastic, chips and queso were great! My husband ordered the giant burrito and finished it but they didn't count it for the free shirt due to him not eating the entire bag of lettuce that was sitting on top of the burrito, so I advise nobody buy that...it's not worth it. Our third visit was pretty bad. The food was bland and the music was so loud, we could barely hear each other!

This location was okay. I have been here before, but they seem to have renovated the place. I actually don't like the new design. I know this place isn't exactly Mexican or Latin, but I associate it with such and the decor here is very plain. The staff was very friendly. The music seemed Spanish-American fusion. I liked it. We used the yelp offer on free cheese dip which was AWESOME! They have great cheese dip. Then we ordered the 2 for $20 which is more than enough for 3-4 people. Definitely more economical! We got the taquitos as the appetizer which I liked, but only when I dipped it in cheese. They are bland plain. I have a thing for QT taquitos and nothing seems to ever compare. We got fish tacos and pork fajitas for our entrees. The fajitas were good. I liked the pork. It was seasoned and cooked well. The fish tacos on the other hand... not so much. I was not a fan. It was very bland. I tried to put lettuce, rice, beans, anything to try to make it taste better but it did not seem to help. I love their rice and beans though. All in all, it was adequate. Not amazing, but not terrible and great staff! My family got margaritas, which I didn't get to try, but they seemed to enjoy them. :)

We like this location a lot. It's been recently renovated and looks nicer than ever. The staff is really nice and its an overall family friendly experience. The burrito al carbon is one of our favorite dishes. We also like the steak panera and the seafood burrito.

For the price at lunch, you'll have a hard time doing better than Frontera. $7 gets you 4 delicious pork/pineapple tacos. I'm 6'3" and around 250 lbs, and it's a filling plate. My girlfriend usually gets the chimichanga, and it is definitely a solid chimichanga. They also have 2 kinds of great salsa that come with every meal. Add on a reasonably priced and pretty well made margarita, and you have yourself a great lunch. This is not a restaurant to expect ridiculous quality from, it's just a really good average mexican restaurant with great value.

I am dismayed by the negative comments on this particular location. I've been a customer here for years (8+) & still go here often. Jessica & Rodrigo are the managers that I've come to be acquainted with & I can't say enough good about their professionalism & pleasant demeanors towards not only the staff but their customers. Recently, I was there during a storm & the computers went down, they did an AMAZING job ensuring the customers' orders were handled efficiently & business went on as usual. I've witnessed customers being RUDE to each of these staff members & they handled it WELL & courteous! The food is always delicious, drinks are outstanding & you definitely get your money's worth. The live music is an added bonus. I would HIGHLY recommend this location! To the "Negative Nancy's" or dissatisfied customers who've written negative reviews/comments, perhaps it was YOU. Everyone is entitled to having an off day, but the customer service there has NEVER been bad in the many numerous occasions I've been. Job well done, Stone Mountain FRONTERA!

Our server Jasmina was very sweet and attentive. I just wish they had better options for the regular size tacos. The "street" tacos are smaller and you can get 6 but the meat options weren't what I wanted and it does not come with rice or beans. A steak taco and a shrimp taco with rice and beans (both charged as sides) is what I had to order and that ended up costing WAY more than my fiances entire meal and he also had WAY more food. Not to mention the shrimp taco was green and tasted awful...I literally spit it out in my napkin. Jasmina took it away and brought me another steak taco. The sangria was awesome a the chips and salsa were also very good. Just wish there were more reasonably priced options for regular sized tacos, besides the basic chicken/carnitas ones.

It's right by our house, cheap, clean, recently renovated, and Ms. Ana is the sweetest! Ask for her and tip her well! We've been to other locations, and this is our favorite!
(5)Lou M.
Went there for a birthday dinner gathering. Service was almost non-existent, we waited an hour to get our food. My food was okay but my wife who can't do spicy ordered a hamburger which was disgusting. Save yourself time and money ... better off at Moe's or even Taco Bell.

I'm a longtime customer of this specific Frontera location and have always enjoyed going out to eat there, however my experience on Cinco de Mayo was so horrendous that I will never be back, and neither will the rest of my party. I have to say that I was thoroughly unimpressed with the service regardless of the restaurant being busy. After waiting OVER AN HOUR from the time we sat down and ordered our drinks until we actually got them the waitresses were unresponsive and negligent of our table. Our waitress disappeared for thirty minutes after we had ordered our drinks and when we finally did get them after ordering twice with two different waitresses, our order was wrong and they conveyed inaccurate information to us, telling us that they were out of the drinks we ordered as the people at the two surrounding tables that had just sat down were being served the exact same thing. In the time it took our party of 5 to get our drinks, the table next to us who had sat down 10 minutes after us and had 9 people had already finished eating their food. Apart from that, our dinner and appetizers took much longer and again, when we did get our food one of our orders was wrong. After finishing our food we had to wait an additional hour just to get our checks and when we did receive them they had our full order on them after our waitress had told us before we got our food that our drinks would be taken off of our order. When she went to make the correction she sent a manager over to our table to talk to us who was incredibly rude and asked us "why we didn't want to pay for our drinks" as if we had done something wrong. After explaining what we had been dealing with from the beginning of the night she interrupted us very rudely and said she would fix our receipts and walked away with an attitude. Overall our experience was a disaster, as we spent over 3 hours at our table and didn't leave the restaurant until 11:45pm. The staff was neglectful and rude which is totally unacceptable. It wasn't that the restaurant was so busy for the holiday, we understood that before we willingly waited for an hour to be seated. It was the fact that the entire time we were at our table the staff was attentive to every single table around us and neglected our group. The entire situation was totally inexcusable and I can guarantee that myself, along with the rest of our group, will not be dining here again.
(1)Nicky H.
Great food and excellent service!! Hostesses welcomed us when we walked in. Server was super friendly and attentive. She gave our 1 year old a balloon that kept him entertained. She also brought out cookies for him when our dessert game out. The manager also stopped by to check on us. Seems like the staff really works well as a team. Def will go back!

Almost had a Tucker Max sized blow out before I got out of the parking lot. After eating here I couldn't drive fast enough to get home I had to poop so bad. The food is average. Here's what it's like after eating at Fontera's youtube.com/watch?v=M8NR…

I would go back again! I went here last Sat.(3-16-13), and really liked the food. I had a chicken chimichanga that came w/ rice. It was tasty and my plate showed it("happy plate", as my son used to say). The service was ok, although the waitress seemed a little un-easy(maybe she was tired). Overall, it was good and I would recommend to other ppl.

Like many Chinese restaurants that pop up in shopping centers, Frontera is like every other Tex Mex restaurant I've been to as far as food selection goes. The menus all look the same except for the name of the restaurant. Weird, huh? I usually have the Speedy Gonzalez, which is a taco, an enchilada and rice. The taco shell was stale. The meat in the enchilada was dry. And, the rice was a little crispy. I choked it all down with a few glasses of water. Service was nice and quick. Too bad the food was not of better quality.
(2)Elizabeth O.
Nice, quick service. Food, however, was mediocre and the inside of the restaurant seemed sparse on atmosphere .
(2)Marvin B.
Restaurant was very clean and we went pretty late- 45 minutes prior to closing but we were still treated very well! I was at a carnival nearby and we wanted a good margarita so I pulled out my handy dandy yelp app to find a Mexican spot nearby that was open late. Frontera was open till 10:30 and it was 9:40 so since it was only 5 minutes away we went there. Plus, Yelp had a free dessert offer with check in at Frontera- score! They had live music until 10pm and surprisingly it was good. It wasn't too loud either and we sat literally right in front of the guy that was performing. Our waitress was very patient with us as we kept asking about different drinks and getting her opinions so we started with a few drinks. My friend and I ended up doing for the 2 for $20 deal which is rare in Mexican establishments. We chose queso dip for an appetizer and I had the pork fajitas and my friend had the beef and cheese nachos. I ordered fried ice cream as the free dessert- my absolute favorite! The portions were huge! I showed my waitress the free dessert deal on my phone as I ordered and she said it was no problem. We ate, got the to-go boxes and our waitress brought the check- but no dessert! I purposely didn't eat all of my food to save room for my fried ice cream. I asked her about it and she said she would have to check with her manager to see if I could apply that deal with the 2 for $20 deal. I didn't care if I had to pay for it- I wasn't leaving without my fried ice cream! She came back like a minute later and said it was still complimentary- sweet! The fried ice cream was honestly the highlight of my experience there. The fried batter reminded me of a funnel cake and the ice cream- while really hard was very flavorful. I tipped her very well for her willingness to go the extra mile to make sure we were happy and stuffed, especially since we didn't leave until 45 minutes past closing. Highly recommended for good, fast, Mexican food and try the fried ice cream!

Every year we visit, we always go to Frontera at least once while we are here. Kids love the cheese sauce, and the company makes the food good. We enjoy the food to as it is some really good Tex-Mex. Not nearly as good as Rio Bravo used to be, but a good replacement.
(4)Donald G.
This place use to be a staple in my house hold but over the years its food had fallen off drastically. Plates use to come to you hot and steaming, now are luke warm at best. Some meals like the Fish Taco's rock, but the rice now doesn't seem like anyone cooking it really cares.
(2)Jeremy A.
Pretty solid little mexican place, I understand its a Chain but ill say its definitely decent for what it is. We have ordered large orders for my office a few times from these guys and its usually been pretty good. They have great queso here and I like the steak fajitas as well, the chicken is good but has a wierd smoky after taste.
(3)Darren H.
I'll usually stop by here when I don't feel like going to the Mexican place closer to Stone Mountain park. fairly decent, Mexican for a chain place. I wouldn't go out of my way for this one or the one about 3 miles down the road from this location.
(3)Kraig K.
Average Mexican food. I had chicken fajitas. Chicken and onions, one, singular sliver of green pepper. The two salsas were pretty weak in the flavor realm. Pace Picante has more going for it. Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Extremely fast service.
(3)Madelyn B.
Tuesday daily special is chicken fajitas. Good price good flavor although the chicken isnt great by itself. The margarita on the rocks is super yummy.

I have been a LOYAL Frontera customer back before it was Frontera and LONG before this location existed--we're talkin' back when it was La Cazuela on 78 closer to Snellville. Anyway, I digress. We made reservations for a party of 19 on Sunday night at 530pm for twin 5 year old birthday. The service was LOUSY. We waited 47 minutes for our food, at which case the manager said we would be getting a "great discount." Then we got our food--mine was cold, and my chicken quesadilla (this girl doesn't eat beef) had beef in the middle of it, surrounded by chicken--yes. Then she handed our bills out with a 20% reduction--mind you, this was after 3 HOURS of sitting there and countless times asking for our bill. Parties all around us were seated, orders taken, food out and plates cleared MULTIPLE times over before we received our food. To top it off, employees parked out in the front of the lot in all the prime spaces--just a pet peeve of mine. We wound up ready to walk out--and the manager then comped our table. The frustrating part was that he's a horrible manager and needs some lessons in customer service. Needless to say, NONE OF US will ever be back there. Yuck.

Yuck.
