Great drink specials & hard to beat lunch special prices. Love the molacejte (sp) its a mix of chicken, beef, shrimp & ribs served in a lava rock pestle, enough for wife & I to share & bring home leftovers.

First the good stuff: the food is fairly good. Now the bad stuff: worst refiried beans I have eaten in 50 yrs of eating Mex food. Also, for Mex food, prices seem high.

Went here for lunch on a Saturday. My family have become regulars here. They have patio seating and lunch specials until 2 pm every day. I got the pollo asado lunch special which was grilled chicken with onions and mushrooms. It came with rice and beans too. The portions were normal dinner sized and this was only about $7. It was great!

Had lunch here at a friend's request. Wasn't expecting anything great and that's exactly what we got. Service was pretty slow and the server could care less. The guacamole was really good. Fresh and chunky. That was the best part. I had the molcajete. It would have been really good had it not been swimming with cheese and grease. And ew... that cactus leaf thing that they put on there was disgusting. Everyone else ordered a typical combination plate and seemed to be okay with it. Nothing spectacular about Mesquite. Just your average, not so authentic, mexican food

I was in town visiting my sister and wanted to watch the Pacquiao-Mayweather fight somewhere near her house. I found this place on Facebook and my sister assured me the food was good and the margs were strong. According to the FB event, the doors opened at 6:30 pm and I arrived around 7:30-ish. I'm glad I arrived early. Since I was solo, I was able to belly up to the bar, grab a seat and ordered a marg (on special that night). I told the bartender, Jorge, that I didn't much care for the taste of tequila, so he used less tequila, but it still packed a punch, imo and it tasted great. Since this restaurant is in a strip mall, I didn't expect it to be that large. I was surprised by how many tables were inside. Sitting at the bar was perfect for a singleton watching the fight. I got to get a good seat for the fight and the bartenders took care of me all night. I also ordered shrimp enchiladas which were very good and seasoned well. I had great service all night long. The next time I'm in town, I'm sure my sister and I will go here for Happy Hour, a meal or both!

One of our favorite Mexican restaurants on the south side and most of the Atlanta area. We eat at this location 2 to 3 times a month. The fajitas are great. Not super big portions but very flavorful. The service and drinking are good..

We were traveling from Tennessee to Florida and got off at this exit to fuel up and eat lunch. We stumbled upon this Mexican restaurant next to Kroger. It was clean, not busy, and the staff was quite courteous. Salsa has a hint of horseradish. It was nothing special. In fact, when I asked for a hotter salsa, the server informed me that he could bring me a bottle of hot sauce (fail). The lunch specials were quite reasonable and a good portion. I recommend the poblano relleno. It wasn't as great as our Tennessee hot spots, but it was a very safe choice.

May, 2015. - have been back twice since long and disappointing review below. Sat on the deck both times. Fist time back: bad service and very greasy fajitas. Second time back: good service, good chips and not so greasy fajitas. Consistency and fantastic service still allude them, but the lack of response here shows they probably really don't care. ******************************************************************* Unbelievably disappointed tonight! Thursday Evening - April 9th, 2015 This was my go-to spot for Mexican food. We found it less than a year ago, and have been very happy with it thus far. But tonight was a different story. I actually brought two new customers to the restaurant tonight to let them try "my" spot. Both say they will never be back! The restaurant wasn't busy at all, but they had full staff. I arrived first and sat outside. I was greated quickly and placed an order for the chunky avocado dip. My drink and dip came out before I ever even received chips. The chips were stale and greasy. All three orders. End of the night get rid of the last chips I guess. My first friend arrives and it's 10-12 minutes before they came out to get her drink order. She actually greated the staff on the way in, but guess they were too busy relaxing to come out right away. My second friend arrives and we order. Chicken/Steak Fajitas for 2 and an order of quesadillas. The fajitas were not sizzling and just over warm In temp. Steak was burnt on the edges and the grease on the veggies was thick and congealing. Just gross to eat. My friend barely ate 1/2 of one. The quesadillas came w a side of shredded lettuce only. No sour cream or tomatoes like the picture and every other Mexican restaurant. My friend asked about the side as that's how she likes them expressing that it's also her first time there. The server just shrugged, mumbled something and walked off never bringing the side. Now, as we were still there at closing, they proceeded to pack up the patio while we were finishing the last of our meal. The tables and chairs are metal and the staff proceeded to slide everything on the concrete to the side to stack. Finger nails on chalk board noise and so loud we couldn't here ourselves talking. Guess this is the queue to finish up...immediately. Two new potential long term customers lost and I'll think hard before ever going back. Very embarrassed as I'm the one that talked them into going.

There was a huge party wrapping up their lunch when I got here. Our server tried to seat and help us, but he was totally distracted by the large party of folks. It took quite some time before we got to place our own order. Once he showed up to ask if we were ready to order, I jokingly said, "We've been ready for half an hour!" (It was really more like 10 minutes.) But the joke may have been lost on him. I could have sworn he said, "You got here late, it's your fault." I dunno, maybe his joke was lost on me. There *were* at least two other people on the floor who could have taken our orders during the time we were waiting. That being said, I had a tasty, lunch-sized, chicken-chimichanga. And the portion size was nice and small. The price tag was also not too big. But it may have been my fault, and I'm not too keen on repeating my mistakes...

Lousy, ordered cheese dip, did not come, asked for it again, asked that it would be hot, stone cold. Cheese dip was served with food. Ordered steak burrito, it was lukewarm. Did not eat a meal there as planned. Normally food is ok here, but won't come back.

I am addicted to their Steak Fajitas if I'm starving and their Caldo de Pollo (Chicken Soup with Half an Avocado) if I am looking for a small meal. Delicious. And then there's the chips. I'm powerless over their chips.

This is an excellent spot for meet ups after work. The food is excellent and the Margaritas are on point. I think my daughter has invested in the business. She goes there at least twice a week.

I've been a long-time Frontera patron, but decided to try this place the other day. It's great! Both their regular and mild salsa is excellent, and so was everything else we had. Highly recommend!

We love this Mexican restaurant !! Always fast, friendly and clean. Everything we have eaten has been wonderful. My most recent new item to try was the mo-ca-han-te . Thats not how its spelled on the menu though. It is big enough to share and amazing!!

I frequent this restaurant. Lunch prices are very good and the food is very good. Giving 3 stars for the slow service which occurs 3 out of 4 times.

Typical "Tex Mex" fare prepared better than average with good service and a full service bar. Had a Mexican cerveza that I was not familiar with, Victoria, that is a very good representation of the light Munchener style. No, it's not craft, but it is well crafted and goes quite well with the cuisine. The salsa is about average, but the chips are light and hot. Certainly worth going back.

Among our new favorites! Food was excellent, good portions, decent prices, attentive service. They only bring bland, red salsa with the complimentary chips but also have a mild, brown and DELICIOUS green sauce on request for a nominal charge. Oddly, they offer Chile Rellano and Poblano Chile but the waiter says they're really one in the same. Frozen marguerita was tasty, available in 3 sizes: Ample, Excessive and Ridiculous! LOL Tacos did not come with tomato on them as is customary. The best value, if you like variety, is easy to miss ... on the back of the menu, about halfway down between lunch options, is a build-your-own combo of 1, 2 or 3 entrees with rice and beans. There were enough leftovers for another meal! We are definitely going back and anxious to try the whole menu.

Good flavor but portion size for veggie menu could be bigger. Theyneed to add more vegetarian options. The drinks are light - weight so don't go looking for a nice buzz.

GREAT FOOD....service could be better! Being from Texas we look for a specific taste and this is it. They hooked me with the charro beans (don't like refried)! Faijitas are excellent!!!!

I'm so glad we finally have a good Mexican food place on this exit. The other two are gross and overpriced. I've been here several times, and the food has always been great. The drinks are a bargain, too. $6 for a long island iced tea! Many reviews have stated this place is bad because some of the waiters don't speak great English, but you just have to be a little patient. They've never gotten my order wrong.

Brand New! This place has been coming soon for a long time. Went in with a party of 6 and we were early...5:00ish. We were seated right away. Service was good and the food was good too. I ordered the Burrito Especial...a steak burrito covered in cheese sauce that has bits of shrimp in it. It was really good. We were asked by several different staff members if we were taken care of...I hope this place does well....it's close to home! It's not amazing, but it's good. Good meal and good service.

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
