This restaurant is on a marina pier on. Very nice setting! Employees are attractive and friendly. Food is first rate. Very nice raw oysters with a fresh flavor and none of the mushy texture gulf oysters can sometimes have. Fried shrimp (no breading) were just right with the slight crunch they have when they are not overcooked . They were served in a fine, slightly piquant sauce with really good cheese grits- best I've had since The Jefferson Hotel. My partner had the shrimp with a hotter tomato sauce and grits with cheddar cheese- just sharp enough. He was very satisfied. Homemade ice cream was worth having. Only the crust on the pecan pie was a disappointment- too thick and without much flavor. All in all a great experience! By the way, there is very little else near Brunswick. The drive from the La Quinta Motel is well worth it.

Had dinner here tonight, and it was so good, we couldn't wait to get back and write a review. We discovered Coastal Kitchen here on Yelp. After being extremely disappointed last night with the Fredericka House, we decided to make tonight's choice based on reviews. We started off with 2 appetizers, lobster nachos and fried calamari. The nachos were to die for! Fresh guacamole, and pure deliciousness. The fried calamari was an Asian style dish, so I didn't really care for it... but everyone else at the table loved it. For entrees, we ordered the grilled Mahi Mahi that came with this creamy basil risotto. It was excellent. The others ordered the blackened Red Snapper that came with crawfish mac n cheese. It was also delicious. Because both dishes were so wonderful, we swapped a lot of bites off of each plate. To finish things off, we ordered their homemade ice cream and key lime pie. The ice cream was made with fresh blueberries and was fantastic. Overall, it was the best food we have ever had at St. Simons. Best way to end our trip!

Better than before! Great waterfront views & the lobster tacos deserve a try. Drinks are served quite nicely on the veranda & wait staff were very attentive.

Excellent view and excellent food. One of my favorite joints in the St. Simons area. Looks out over a very pretty marina.

We had 5 in our party and each got something different. Everyone's food was fantastic. It is a little noisy but not too bad. The service was great. Definitely recommend Coastal Kitchen. Would recommmend making a reservation. We were able to get in before the crowd hit.

Food was ok, paella was not so good, watery and quite bland, shrimp and grits were very nice. The lobster nachos were a little disappointing the no real lobster flavor, way to much cheese sauce, the calamari good but again way too much sauce. The service overall very good, location nice.

Went for brunch this morning. It was pretty cool out so we didnt sit out on the beautiful deck with a gorgeous view. We were seated at the table right at the entrance to the kitchen which Was not pleasant...alot of bustling about. The service was very good. The coffee was very good. We ordered the Lobster Nachos based on other reviews, but we were very dissapointed in this $13.00 plate of tortilla chips with cheese and crumbled strips of what didnt really taste like lobster. The worst part was the big uneven chunks of raw onion and raw green and red peppers all over it. Next we ordered Crabcake Benedict based on other reviews. The crabcakes were okay...more red and green peppers in them. My poached eggs were not pretty but cooked okay. My boyfriend sent his back because they were over cooked. The staff was very accommating about this. The Hollandaise sauce had little flavor and had "broken" and butter was separating. My grits were bland. All in all we were dissapointed at the quality of this $45.00 meal. The bar looked great, but we didnt order drinks.

This is the finest restaurant in the area. After 8 or 9 trips to the area this is the only restaurant that is great every time ! Good food, great wine list, good service. Service can be the only issue . Sometimes there is another server needed but overall it is good. The view is wonderful with the boats and the inter coastal . My pick for properly cooked seafood in the area.

After several days of mediocre to bad food on Jekyll and St. Simons islands, this restaurant was a welcomed find. We showed up at about 3 and opted to sit outside. The waitress was fabulous. We started with both the chowder and the crab bisque. The bisque was so good I got an extra container to go when the meal was over. For entrees, we both ordered the crab cake and fried green tomato salad. The greens were fresh, the crab cake full of crab, and the tomatoes were perfectly done. The whole dish was drizzled with a delicious honey mustard dressing that was the perfect complement. I would recommend this restaurant and would definitely seek it out again next time I'm in the part of the country

Wow, my dad and I had amazing luck to have found this place while driving towards St. Simons Island from Brunswick. You can't miss it because it's located on your right where the small marina is before entering the island. You walk up some stairs to get to the restaurant from their fully packed parking lot, and you will pass by some boats on your left side that are stacked on top of each other like NYC double parking style haha. They had a live jazz singer singing outside, but no one was watching; I felt kind of bad. When you enter the restaurant, you will be welcomed by the host and a bar to the right. The host was a little snobby, but our waiter was very polite. The chef also came out to introduce himself, which was nice, but then I heard him saying the same thing to each of the tables around us, which was a bit annoying, still nice of him though. The restaurant was packed with wealthy-looking white people (that's St. Simons Island marina) for ya! The food was very good! Fish was certainly fresh. The herbs, organic vegetables, and other organic ingredients made the food superb! I tried their crab bisque ($4 cup/$6 bowl) and it was sooooo yummy! Coastal Kichen's crab bisque is equally good as Monterey Bay's clam chowder, which tops any other place that makes this type of soup. Man, that was really good soup!!! I miss it. I loved the view of the sunset on the marina while savoring my food. You can also choose to sit outside in the front of the restaurant (watch the jazz singer) or in the back of the restaurant (closer to the water). Good food, really fresh ingredients, but a little pricey. I still had a great time and I loved my soup haha.

Wow! I'm so glad I came across this on my yelp iPhone app. I'll honestly say I had one of the best meals I've ever eaten here. The flounder was amazing. Service was stellar and I must have gotten lucky...the hostess tonight wasn't snooty at all like previous reviews said. If you're looking for an amazing meal, try this place. It's a little pricey but I've had food that doesn't belong in the same room as this food for a lot more money. I'd give it 10 stars is I could.

This was a great little find! The menu is interesting and the food was fantastic. We had great service. The only reason this place got 4 stars was because of the snooty hostess
Good food, fresh seafood. First visit there today. Had the fish and chips and my spouse had the shrimp quesadilla. We both found the food to be quite delicious and exactly what we were looking for. Got to sit on the patio with an amazing view of the boats and docks there at the marina. Service was above average. It hit the spot for what we were looking for for lunch.

Great place for a cold drink and lobster nachos! We had a late lunch so didn't partake in much of the menu, but what we saw/sampled was very enjoyable and a great way to kick-off our Jekyll Island vacation. Top 3: 1) lobster nachos 2) cool bevie 3) patio with marsh view A great stop in St Simon's!

This place is heaven on earth! Its tucked away but I am sooo glad I found this place. Every time I come here I try something different and it's always a delicious experiance. My favorite is the ravioli, it's stuffed with seafood and everything is made right in their kitchen. Even the ice cream!

Food was great. The bartender mixed the drinks perfectly. Excellent service. The oysters were delicious. Our large party without reservations was handled with great hospitality. The owner Jeff obviously stays involved with his restaurant and it shows. So long and thanks for all the fish.

This is one of our new favorites in SSI! Ate here for the first time last year, and happy to say the second time was just as good! Great service, beautiful view of the marsh and marina, and incredible food! The entire table had redfish tonight and it did not disappoint! Hope to come back next year for more!

Amazing place just perfectly nestled between Brunswick St Simons Island View is remarkable sit outside if the weather is nice. We ordered every single appetizer on the menu during lunch the prices were much lower than dinner. We had more than enough of an array. COASTAL KITCHEN very fresh seafood. And the lobster nachos are a must try for any foodie. This is pretty much the nicest place around the Brunswick area the setting is dark and romantic and the staff is fine dining status. As a Paz restaurant manager I was impressed with the flow of the pace of service it was impeccable does server knew what to suggest and order better than we did. happy hour during the day has a bunch of regular local island guys.

Sunday Brunch with the boyfriend's parents. I ordered chicken and waffles while the boyfriend ordered lobster nachos and then proceeded to swap each other at the half way points (because restaurant food variety is the spice of life). Chicken and waffles weren't anything special - though the chicken was lightly breaded and the waffle was nicely crisped. Though maybe chicken and waffles is weird enough to just be served plain. The nachos were decent, also nothing really spectacular but the chips that they used were kind of different - they were thicker and thus sturdier because who wants their chip to break when scooping up deliciously fattening sour cream and salsa? The boyfriend's parents seemed to enjoy their dishes. The view was also really nice of the marina however I'm not sure it is the best food ever as some of these reviews seem to imply!

We met up with some friends for dinner here. I was really taken back by how high the drink prices were and decided not to enjoy an adult beverage. The service was top notch and the food tasty. My husband had the special a blacken fish and he really enjoyed it. I decided on the scallops and shrimp and made a bad pick. It was tasty just very rich, heavy and alittle to much balsamic vinegar for my taste. I wished I had opted for something lighter like a salad with shrimp. We were bothered by the pesky flies like other diners have mentioned even though we were seated indoor. I found the folks at the bar which is right next to the dining area to be very loud at time. A nice little restaurant but I am not sure I would pick it again.

Came here for a "snack" after mid-afternoon flight. We had reservations for dinner in a few hours and needed some food to hold us over. The waitress was very nice and didn't seem phased by the fact we were splitting an appetizer & one entree between four people. The lobster nachos and scallops and shrimp was AMAZING. The nachos was very different, but was so good. If you're dining here, you cannot leave without ordering those dishes! Great view by the water, excellent food and service. Definitely recommended!

We visit St. Simon's once a year, and while we travel economically, this is our "one night out" treat. We've had great food and service, even though we have different appetites (I cannot eat seafood, alas). That's no problem as the steaks and pork and other options are fantastic. The appetizers, cocktails, and main dishes are wonderful, and we usually share 2 desserts among 3-4 people. It was a bit warmish this last visit, but it was hot everywhere. The staff was attentive without being intrusive. We always look forward to our special dinner here!

Coastal Kitchen is one of the "must visits" eateries on any trip to the Golden Isles. It's the only dining on the water (at the marina just before you get to St. Simons Island proper) and offers breathtaking views. The food is dynamic and creative. And the atmosphere is just as incredible. PLUS the owner, Jeff, is almost always on hand ready to answer any questions or take care of anything you need. They also offer live music on many evenings, which pairs perfectly with a stiff cocktail and a stunning sunset. Their happy hours (yes plural) are super sweet --- half off most everything(including bottles of wine!). Oh and during the summer, they have Sunday Fundays with a favorite local band, Soul Gravy, playing some Southern Rock out by the pool. How can you possibly beat this? Take my word for it ... it's the place to be.
(5)
Jenn S.
Food, service, and decor are wonderful. Go watch the sunset while you dine! Menu has wide variety of selections for all taste. If you are seeking oysters, this is the place! Bring your reading glasses, as the menu print is extremely fine font.

My favorite thing about this restaurant is the "pineapple-upside-down-cake martini"; This restaurant has amazing views of the marina, especially as the sun is setting. As for the food, I would advise anyone to stick with the seafood dishes such as salmon, crab or fish which they do very well. Some of the american favorites are on there like shrimp and grits which only gets a "B+" in my book. I have enjoyed the other foods too, particularly the appetizers. The service here does not match the price of the food or the ambiance and often is a little lacking.

My husband and I celebrated our anniversary last night at Coastal Kitchen. Our waitress was Corinne and she really gave us exceptional service. I ordered the Blackened Red Fish with crawfish and spicy sausage. Every bite was delicious! My husband ordered oysters on the half shell. They were nice size and very fresh. We really enjoy eating outside by the water.

Great location and wonderful food. Would love to give 4 1/2 stars as management needs to redo the menu to have a larger type face!!!! Our table of 4 had to almost guess at our options. Thanks for listening.

What a great setting for a restaurant, right on the water and a great view of the marina. Sadly the food and service were severly lacking. It may have been the choices I made, but I went on the recommendations of the server, but it was just "okay" and for the price, I expected and should have received more. A great place to take someone who wants a good view with lunch or dinner, with table cloths and a formal dining room. Just don't set your expectations too high.

Great atmosphere with a beautiful marina view. We started with the chicken firecrackers as an appetizer. They were delicious. The serving was a bit small though (4 pieces). The table next to us ordered the lobster nachos which were huge & we could overhear them raving about them! For an entree I had the Springer Mountain Chicken. It was very flavorful. The chicken was juicy & I could really taste the grill flavor. Hubby had Fried shrimp, fries & coleslaw. He said they were pretty good but nothing to rave about. We splurged on dessert for a change. I had the chocolate torte which was warm, chocolate goodness. Hubby had watermelon sorbet which tasted exactly like super cold watermelon. Overall, I really enjoyed the Coastal Kitchen.

Fabulous crab cake Benedict. My husband had the shrimp and grits and he loved the entree. Seriously good grits. Beautiful setting. Good service.

The place was very busy and it was nice to have a reservation. We were seated quickly and service was great. For dinner it was a cup of the crab bisque (very good) with some tasting of calamari at the table to start followed by a spinach salad which was excellent as well. For the main course I had the Grilled Mahi Mahi with basil and goat cheese risotto, asparagus and citrus beurre blanc. Overall a wonderful experience and a certain repeat for when we are in the area again.

We enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp and the local oysters. My date enjoyed his burger, and I thought my redfish entree was ok. The service was not terrible, but it did not meet our expectations.

I was visiting Georgia for my mother's wedding. This restaurant has good reviews, so this is where we decided to go to have some good seafood. It was ok. I think this place might have more hype than it should. The server was EXCELLENT, the food ok.

Fabulous shrimp and grits with rich butternut squash sauce over boursin cheese grits -- generous portions. Several other shrimp and grits presentations as well. But that's not all, you'll want to return to taste the whole menu. Reasonable wine prices and a large beer selection.

Really enjoyed our dinner here. 1st time dining but we found the service to be very good, the food was very good and a very nice atmosphere. I had the blackened red fish which was great. Calamari for an appetizer was great also. My wife had the salmon, it was good but we found the sauce too salty and a little overwhelming and that kept it from being great. We will go back. They are kid friendly also which is a big plus for us.

Service was great. Blackened redfish was great. Tuna nachos don't forget to order. Great to eat outside with view of the docks. All the food was very well prepared. The chef and waitress even came up with butternut squash for my young son to eat. I must say I finished it

Dined here last night 5/21/10. Though I read good things, I was a bit wary of the menu and what my options to eat might be. (I don't eat seafood.) Here is what my party ordered: Starters: Peach Salad- fresh, peaches were from a can. NOT fresh. They forgot to add the candied pecans. Caesar Salad: Good, pretty average. Crab Bisque: OUT OF THIS WORLD. Main Course: I had the Bistro Salad with grilled chicken, and the chicken was perfectly done, the salad greens were fresh. I had the lemon vinaigrette and it was very good. Others in my party had the Lobster and Crab Ravioli and thought it was excellent. My husband had the Beef Tenderloin and it was cooked very well, not over done, good flavor though it was a little bit salty. Dessert! We had two of the apple pastries topped with the honey pecan ice cream. The ice cream is homemade and REALLY Excellent. The pastry was a little to thick in the places where there were no apples. My husband had the key lime pie and it was very good. They also had a couple other great sounding options. The service was pretty good- I would absolutely recommend going here.

I visit SSI three times a year. My sister owns a condo down there and we have a cousin who lives there, too. Our cousin recommended Coastal Kitchen, so I read the Yelp reviews and decided to give it a try. The reviews are spot on...the ambience is wonderful and the views are great. And like the reviews further stated, the food is "fine" but not over the top good. But with the ambience and view, "good" food is definitely satisfactory. Cameron was our server and he was so incredibly attentive, willing to answer every question we asked about the menu. I settled on the spinach salad and the blue crab stuffed flounder, since I had heard the flouder was a winner, and my sister ordered the scallops and shrimp over butternut squash. Cameron warned us that our entrees were "hearty" and we were definitely stuffed when we left. I would like to try something a little lighter, and although the scallops on my sister's plate were very good, the shrimp was a disappointment--over-cooked and tough. We will go back and order the spinach salad again and an appetizer as our entree so we have room for dessert. CK makes homemade ice cream and the flavors sounded heavenly...we just didn't have room. We'll be back.

The restaurant is right on a marina, and tastefully decorated. We arrived for Sunday brunch promptly at 11 am (small party of 3) and were seated outside on a lovely porch. The service was scarce when needed -- had to go to the bar to get the drink I'd ordered. Servers assigned to other areas were more attentive, perhaps, but not to areas outside their own. My daughter ordered pancakes with bacon, a fruit cup, and apple juice. Despite being brunch, no apple juice. The screwdriver I had, though, was made with fresh OJ. One of her two kid pancakes had a line of batter running all the way through it. My husband had the shrimp and grits, and the grits were fantastic. I, on the other hand, ordered french toast and all three thick slices were still oozing batter because they were so undercooked. This was removed from our bill without a problem, but the manager never came over to apologize. Lovely menu options, but the raw Gulf oysters were only so-so. Great concept, badly needed in this area - but not well executed. I expected more from these prestigious owners.

Have been visiting this location at the Marina for over 30 years. Several restaurants have come and gone, but the view is great. Coastal Kitchen is a very good seafood destination. There is a good, complete menu with some good specials on a regular basis. The service is good and the food is prepared well. There is a good deck for outside dining and a good bar with small tables for drinks and small bites. The wine list is good. Some of the items are overpriced, but you will not be disappointed with any of the selections. Try any of the tuna dishes. I believe this restaurant used to be a part of the Food 101 group out of Atlanta. Not as good as Halyards or Delaney's but a great environment.

I moved to the area from the Midwest, with a firm hatred of seafood and a grudging acceptance of fish. This was the place that opened my palate to crab cakes with slaw. AMAZING. Everything I had here was amazing, and my fish-hating boyfriend (at the time) absolutely loved the tuna he had here. We came here with my parents and all four of us loved everything we ate.

Very pleasant lunch. We were just in for a few hours to fuel up and keep moving up the coast, but St Simons and the Coastal Kitchen will be on my list of good stops sailing up and down the US East Coast.

I was impressed by Coastal. The atmosphere looks to be a little stuffy, but wasn't at all. The service was excellent but the food was definitely a cut above the rest. It was by far the best food we experienced.

This is a bit off the main drag on St. Simons Island, but it's worth the trip. I had brunch here. I didn't need a reservation and was seated right away. They seemed to only have two servers working, and the patio and deck were full. That slowed the service a bit, but not enough to be annoying. For brunch, I tried to order some oysters on the half shell, but the order had not yet come in. I instead had the crab soup, which was creamy and delicious! I also had the lobster omlet with hashbrowns. There was a good amount of lobster meat in the omlet, and the hashbrowns were shaped like hushpuppies. I also had the bloody mary, which was not only excellent in taste, but also came with a shrimp as a garsh, which was a very nice touch. I'm definitely going back when I'm in the area.

Very close to being a great meal, but we had a few issues... The GA scallops was a great dish, but unfortunately over salted Lobster nachos would have been great, but it was served almost ice cold Other than that no big complaints, but it lacked the final touch in execution to deserve a 4 star.

Started out with a blackberry julep that ended up being the best part of my meal. This being Georgia, I was really excited about ordering the fried green tomatoes appetizer. When I read the menu I saw "honey" sauce, and expected they'd come in some divine tupelo sweetness, but I'd neglected to note the word "Dijon" and instead they came drenched in a sour deli mustard reduction. WHY?! I figured it was my fault and remained optimistic that the entree on the menu that had me drooling, the red fish, would still arrive and be so gloriously good that I'd forget all about the high expectations I'd had for the tomatoes. I knew I'd been a fool to hope when my fish arrived on a bed of COLD crawfish and andouille sausage. The fish was still good, despite having absolutely no sauce, and it also came with some white cheddar grits that were tasty, but I couldn't get past the fact that my side was not even lukewarm, but actually cold, as if recently unfrozen. (**The owner actually responded to this complaint when I posted this review on a different website. He apologized and noted that he informed his chef of the error to avoid a repeat occurrence.) Another in our party was talked into ordering chicken, which is pretty much always disappointing at a seafood restaurant. I can't suggest writing this place off completely, however, because the final entree in our group was the scallops with the butternut squash mash and the orderer was nice enough to share. Well, I'm sad to say that this was a classic, "Why didn't I order that???" moment because it was really freaking good and so I suggest that if you're headed to this restaurant, maybe order that and only that...

They handled a last minute reservation for a party of 20 during the holidays with no problems. The food was wonderful and the prices were very reasonable. The location is divine - has always been one of my favorite spots through the many restaurants that have made their way through this location. PLEASE keep this one in business. It's a great addition to the local food scene in the Brunswick/SSI area. Can't check in from my iPhone app, oddly enough.

Seemed to take forever to get our food but....Lobster nachos were good and full of lobster chunks. The grouper special was very good. Black grouper was not that good but the accompanying lobster rissoto was good.

Great place for a date. We took our time with wine and noshing in the outdoor deck. Waiters were scarce when appropriate and attentive when needed. We could share anything, with the staff plating the salad and entrees separately without being asked. Nice touch. Thanks for the great experience!

The food was outstanding, however, the waitress displayed extremely unprofessional behavior. She made it very clear that she would have rather have gone home than serve a late table.

Top rate dinner for six. We brought our own wine and paid a modest corkage fee. Started on the deck with the live music and a number of appetizers. We had the crab cake, calamari, fried green tomatoes and artichokes. All were excellent and nicely presented. We moved inside for dinner and our server was able to follow us at our request. Susan was terrific! We enjoyed red fish, a grouper special, flounder stuffed with blue crab and lobster ravioli. Our total compliments to the chef. The manager checked on us and even sat down to chat a few minutes. Very comfortable and chic. We would highly recommend and definitely go back on our next visit to St Simons.

St Simons Island Coastal Kitchen has by far the best water view of any restaurant here on the Island. This restaurant is located in the marina at the last bridge you cross on the causeway to get to the Island. Their food is very good and is very creative. My favorite time to dine here is a lunch because it can get very loud at dinner. If you have a choice and the weather is cooperating, sit outside and enjoy the fresh breezes. Their chowders a very good and so are all of their salads. All of their fish is very fresh so you can not miss there. They also serve a Sunday Brunch. Coastal Kitchen also has live music quite often so you will need to check with them on that.

Visited the Coastal Kitchen last night. The food and the service were dead on. I had the duck special, absolutely amazing. Aunt TK had the shrimp and grits, dead on it. Uncle Lime however, was preterbed from the get go. The server came at us with buy a bottle of wine for a charity, and they mark it up 5 bucks.....pretty shady.....if they lose the wine deal, it would have been 5 stars all the way. I would recommend highly, with only that reservation.....the Chef came out to greet us as we left, and was very cordial. I had a great time.

I like to eat healthful food. After a couple of days in Saint Simons, I had hit my limit of fried, buttered, and fried & buttered food. It's tasty (sometimes), but it's horrifically bad for you. I went onto my trust Yelp to find something better. We settled on Coastal Kitchen due to the waterfront location and menu which had many non-fried choices. The service there is excellent. The owner was actually working the host station the day we were there and he was very nice and took care of us. Apparently the kitchen messed up the salads and he came out to tell us he'd noticed the problem, had them re-done, and offered a cup of gumbo during the wait. That's a classy move. The food overall was very good. The restaurant has a nice covered patio and a great view of the marina and some marshes. Definitely a nice choice for a relaxing, non-fried evening!

One of the few places on the island where you can enjoy the view from your table. Great cocktails and upscale atmosphere. But the food menu is a little overpriced and it is hard to leave without at least a $75 bill for 2 people. The food is hit or miss. Lobster nachos and some sandwiches leave much to be desired. Other items, like the tuna sashimi salad and the burger, are some of the best on the island. Come here for happy hour to enjoy the view with your cocktail.

Went to Coastal Kitchen for a bachelorette party. They accommodated us, were welcoming, and kept up with us. The lobster nachos are a MUST order, and we ended up ordering several orders for the table because they were such a hit. I had the crabcake entree with the side salad, and would highly recommend the lemon dressing on it so you can mop it up with the crabcakes. I'm from Maryland so I feel like I can attest to how good they were! I got them for dinner and when we came back for brunch the next morning, I got the crabcakes AGAIN! Great experience and I cannot wait to return.

Nice views/good location. The person that greeted us (not the hostess) had the personality of a fork. My glass had lip stick stains around the rim of the glass. So Gross! Our brunch was ok. The chicken and waffles would have been good if the waffles were cooked. It was like a pile of dough. For the prices I would expect the bathrooms to be updated as well.

We had lunch here. Beautiful setting, right at the marina. Food was great, all of us happy with our selections. Interesting specialty drinks. Most of the staff was friendly. Our waitress was a little snooty. Didn't come around too often, but all in all a good experience.

Best location always love the view. Great food thanks to chef Archie and his attention to detail. Brian the mgr. is super nice and incredibly attentive even when really busy. Always awesome! A pleasure. Very enjoyable everytime! My favorite for sure!

Came here with my dad, Sam. Awesome service, great food, and beautiful views. Ahi tuna salad was amazing and fresh, fried shrimp awesome, red fish great! couldn't expect better! Very professional yet comfortable atmosphere. Definitely will return. This place is great!

Horrible crab cake Benedict. Actually feeling ill after eating a couple bites. I think they opened a can of crab flavored Fancy Feast and swished it in a pan of butter! Disgusting. The only reason they get one star is because the atmosphere looked nice. They need a new chef.

I ordered the Fried shrimp and hubby ordered the shrimp and grits. Both were delicious! The flies were annoying but that seems to be common in Georgia's golden isles.

Location, service, and great food! Coastal Kitchen was recommended to us by multiple people, so we decided to check it out. The venue is right on the water with beautiful views, tasteful but relaxed decor, and a very open but intimate dining area. We started out with the calamari, and despite having a delicious soy glaze on it, the calamari kept its texture and didn't become wet tasting. That is hard to pull off! The calamari was tender and flavorful and not at all chewy or anything. I would absolutely order it again. For my main course, I ordered the blackened redfish. The fish was cooked perfectly, and I loved all of the other components of the dish, including crawfish, Cajun sausage, and grits. Everyone at my table enjoyed their dishes as well, including the salmon. I would definitely eat there again!

Beutiful location on the marina overlooking numerous boats! Coastal Kitchen has a great outdoor patio perfect for catching some sun while taking in the scenery. The food was also very good and reasonably priced. I really enjoyed the gumbo, which was well-flavored. The lobster nachos had some large chunks of lobster and gratuitous avocado spread throughout them. The salmon was very tasty as well. You really could not go wrong with anything on the menu here, and the beautiful scenery and excellent service was just an added bonus.

Worst dining experience ever!!! The arrogant bully owner told us that he didn't care what we thought because "he had the best food on the island" and has been open since 2007! Who says that to their patrons? My husband was made fun of for ordering a pancake in addition to his Easter Brunch entree and was charged $10 for it! We spent over $300 and endured evil glares from the owner, "Jeff", for the entire meal. The kicker was that we were double charged for a kid burger due to waiter error and the owner accused us of costing him a burger ($6) because we didn't know how to order properly and that we were shady! Please pass on this establishment and show the owner that good service still matters these days. Updated reply: We did have three reservations, but I had called that morning to inquire about consolidating. I was told that our tables were next to each other and when we arrived, YOUR host seated the adults together in the corner table (right next to our children). I mentioned on the phone that we were fine with ANY configuration as it was a really busy day. Most of our party has waited tables at fine dining establishments, with one even growing up in the restaurant business. To suggest that we are "entitled" is absurd. You don't know us. We are nice people. We are good parents. Our kids are great kids. To suggest anything else in an online post about your patrons just doesn't serve you well. I personally tipped a full 20% on my check. Our children were very well behaved and much quieter than some of the imbibing adults at other tables. When they finished their meal, the dads took turns outside on the dock with the kids to free up space for you to turn your tables. You failed to address how we "cost you a burger" as we were charged/paid for an extra one. It doesn't really matter at this point as you are one restaurant owner that doesn't believes that the customer is always or ever right. Your food was good, the drinks were good, the setting was lovely - you managed to single handedly ruin all of that and you still don't get it.

The pork tenderloin was very good, tender and nestled in yummy green beans and mushroom with gravy. Our waitress went the extra mile by going behind the bar and making a drink for me when there was a delay. The view is lovely at Sunset.

It was good. Really enjoyed the view and rolls. Nothing was extra special but it was good. The waitress was really good.

I compared this to another seafood place I love in Coinjock, NC. Both are on the intercostal waterway and both have views of the water. With that said the view does not make the meal. The meal makes the view even better. I made a reservation with Coastal Kitchen knowing the summer season has started. We were seated within 5 minutes and had an option of inside or out. The wait staff explained the specials for the night and took our drink order. We ordered the Lobster Nachos based upon other reviews. 100% worth it, especially if like guacamole. Two meals came out and were prepared as ordered. The shrimp was great and the grouper was not over cooked. The waitress offered desert, but we had a home made key lime pie waiting at the house. When family visits we will bring them here.

Flavorless and unimpressed. Left after appetizers and didn't even bother to order entrees.

The menu was very sophisticated and the fish I ordered was perfectly cooked and beautifully plated. The service was attentive and the view from the patio lovely on a summer evening. (The key lime pie we had for dessert was on the sweet side and not especially memorable.) But a wonderful dining experience overall!

Great location and great food. Visited with three in our party. We were seated outside very quickly with a super view of the marina. We were met by our server who was friendly and very attentive. We ordered the lobster nachos and the calamari. Both were plentiful and very tasty. We also had very good cocktails and cold beer. I don't think the price paid was outrageous for the quality of food and the view. Would return.

everything was great but my seared tuna on the asian salad was beyond pink in the middle. may have been a day old or overdone. Still VERY good... and we all loved the lobster nachos as an app.
We stopped in last night for dinner after a torrential downpour without a reservation since we were staying next door. Everyone was very gracious and worked hard to get us seated in the outdoor patio. We were not very adventurous in that we all four ordered the same thing, Shrimp and Grits. No one was disappointed. The shrimp and grits were delicious! Service was very good. We had a really nice dinner and the views were beautiful! Try this place, it's a good one!!

Great Shrimp and Grits, both traditional and new styles that are on the menu.

We had such a great dinner here! Everything is fresh and well prepared. The cheese grits were amazing and the best I have ever had. Nice view and someplace we both agree is worth visiting again. I enjoyed my tomato and crab bisque while hubby enjoyed his gumbo. Our entrees of flounder stuffed with blue crab and the cheese grits was so tender and flavorful and the wild Georgia shrimp and grits was tasty and filing. worth the trip!

My husband and I have eaten here many times. We usually get the Fried Shrimp Appetizer (they have peel and eat shrimp but you can get it fried). It is consistently good. We both had the Cobb Salads in addition to 1/4 lb. fried shrimp app. All of it was great! The view is great too!

Jskilicious S.
I really love this restaurant. The view is great of the marina while you taste some fantastic local seafood. This was my 3rd time here. The cheese grits are so creamy. The potato cake is so unique with a panko type crust and mashed potato inside. The pancakes were perfectly cooked. The bacon was the only thing I didn't love. The lobster nachos were served cold which I was disappointed by. However I can say they hosted our rehearsal dinner for our wedding last year and did a great job. I would recommend them.

This little gem has long been a family and personal favorite. The quality of ingredients, imaginative dishes and incredible skill at the stove make every trip here a delightful dining experience. Portions are generous, so plan to share starters in order to save some room for an entree! The wine list is just fine, and we have made several spectacular pairings. It's definitely worth a trip off the interstate, if you're just passing through; if you're in the area on holiday, you may find yourself here again and again. You won't be disappointed. Try any seafood special, anything with fresh Georgia wild shrimp ( including the old standby shrimp and grits), lobster nachos and excellent cocktails.

Great restaurant! I went there tonight and we had an appetizer of calamari, which was really good. Instead of the expected it was topped with more if a soy based sauce and bell peppers. It was a big hit with the whole table. I had the Chilean salmon for my main course and it also did not disappoint. Perfect portion size! It was topped with a black bean salsa concoction. Then I had some delicious homemade ice cream for dessert. The atmosphere is great. Situated on the harbor you get a fairly good view of the ships. Our waiter was very friendly and provided great service despite the restaurant being packed. Our food came out a fairly quick pace. As soon as we sat down he arrived with waters for the whole table. And our glasses never were allowed to finish. He was very knowledgable about the menu and helped us pick out food that was well suited for our individual tastes. I enjoyed this food so much I will make a conscious effort to eat here every time I'm in the area and perhaps make more occasions to come to the area to eat here more often.

We came here for our 5th anniversary dinner, and could not have chosen a better place. They accommodated our request for a window table overlooking the marina, and though it was not a quiet restaurant, the noise was more energetic and fun than actually disruptive. Our waiter was wonderful -- attentive but not hovering. The food was exceptional! I had the grouper and could have eaten a second helping of the creamed corn grits. My husband had the blackened redfish and raved about it. We also enjoyed our drinks -- the $9 rum drink and the black & stormy. We left saying we'd eat there every night of our trip if we could! I would recommend you make a reservation. We arrived for our 7 pm reservation and heard the hostess tell another walk-in couple they wouldn't have an available table until 9 pm.

Amazing chef, fantastic owner, and a team of genuinely great people to go with the fantastic food. This truly is a 5-star restaurant (minus the bill- which is quite reasonable). Impossible to order badly-- go bold and you'll be rewarded. Still go even if you aren't bold-- there's a rainbow of options and they're all great.

Beautiful view, friendly staff, live music on Thursday night... and most importantly, the seafood was INCREDIBLE! There were interesting apps like the lobster-nachos. The red-fish was cooked to perfection, and the crawdads sprinkled on top were my favorite part. There were a bunch of other great looking dishes I wish I had the chance to try. And the desserts were yummy too.

Best kept secret on the island . Shrimp n grits were amazing and service was perfect. Went 2 xs while on vacation because it was so enjoyable. Music in summer makes for a great night . Kids love the boats on the dock. We will be back again this summer !! Thanks for all your hospitality !!!

My family and I have dined at Coastal Kitchen when we've visited Saint Simons Island over the years and I've found the food, service, and atmosphere to be consistently excellent. To be fair, the 5 star rating is somewhat relative, but the outdoor setting overlooking the marina and marshes is beautiful. We started with their fried oysters and tuna tostada. The oysters were outstanding - well fried and juicy with a nice bite. The tuna tostada is about the only thing I've had that I didn't love. The guacamole wasn't the best and each serving was messy to eat. For an entre I had the blackened redfish which was great. It included lots of crawfish and was cooked perfectly. My wife had the lobster and crab ravioli which was also delicious. For dessert we had the molten chocolate cake which was a great finish. Two thumbs up!

Coastal kitchen is one of the iconic restaurants on Saint Simons Island specializing in seafood dishes. I prefer the fried shrimp with sweet potato fries The meals and and service are consistently top notch and you can see the happenings at the marina from your table

Great place to go for a date. The million dollar view is fantastic, even at night. I'm not normally a cocktail person, however the blackberry julep and gin Rickey were both fantastic. Service was very friendly however questionably slow. We arrived at 8:30, the restaurant was about half full, yet it took ten minutes to get seated and another ten for a waiter to come by. We started to get rained on, and a different waiter helped us move inside... Certainly friendly service albeit disorganized. One more example- another table got our appetizer. Shame on then for stealing... When our easier realized the mistake (we said nothing, they just kind of figured it out), they brought out the appetizer for us. Here is the food run down ~ lobster nachos were meh. Maybe that's because they hurried to get them to us due to the mix up... Whatever the the reason they were cold and fairly lacking in lobster. Great idea for an appetizer, just the execution was off. Lobster ravioli was good not great. Local scallops and shrimp was the standout. Enough to bring this review up to a solid four stars. Fresh and with the right amount of sweetness... This is the dish to get. I'd come back, but with laid back expectations about service time. I'd also steer clear of the nachos and maybe try the local fish entree.

Been coming to the island for four years and this was our first time here....won't be our last! Beautiful outdoor dining area and beautiful inside as well. We had the asparagus and crab frittata with the most delectable potato patty/pancake. Hubby also had a lump crab sandwich on croissant. Excellent portions, prices and service.

Amazing restaurant! Had the seafood Paella and it was awesome. Great service. Made reservations but decided to come early and were seated as soon as we walked in at a very nice window seat! Food took a little longer than expected due to a large group party so our waiter gave us complimentary soups. Highly recommend as a nicer dinner.

My wife and I went for our anniversary. We had never been to Coastal Kitchen before. We had the calimari for appetizer and they were amazing. Probably the best we have had besides Bonefish. I had the fried shrimp dinner and was not impressed. The fries were soggy and shrimp were fried to death and flavorless. The slaw was wonderful. My wife had shrimp and grits and she liked them, but said she had eaten better before. The waiter was friendly and very knowledgable of the menu. Scenery was great but for the price of everything we were expecting more from the food. If we go back we will try other menu items.

Weekend trip to the coast with family, celebrating in-laws anniversary, brought us here looking for some local seafood treats. Saturday night reservations helped as the place was packed. Tried some raw oysters - fresh clean taste but on the small side. Fried goat cheese on the salad was awesome, had a crunchy crust with mooshie cheese inside. I am a low-country fan of shrimp and grits, and Coastal Kitchen's signature dish is S&G. The creamy smooth grits were smothered in lots of nice sized shrimp and a copious amount of andoule sausage. Most S&G orders are chincy on the shrimp and sausage, but not here. The flavorful bacon-tomato sauce gives a red color to the whole dish. I swapped out the bell peppers for onions and it was a good switch. Serving size was generous and I've plenty leftover for another meal at home. S&G was listed for $19 on their on-line menu, but the restaurant menu had it listed for $22. Service was good and the ambience - sitting on a river through the slough with lots of boats to watch at sunset - was perfect.

Enjoyed our meal but would have liked the waitress to have been more friendly. My husband said the oysters were fresh, and that's a big one for him! Vegetables were fresh and different from the usual restaurant "side".

Good stuff, didn't fall in love, but I'd go back for dinner. Had lunch Ate fish tacos- they were soso. Blackened fish sand - very good. Crab bisque- soso fresh oysters- very good. Bloody Mary- very good Good service, good atmosphere. They should push all the locally caught seafood more. Not sure why they dont

Coastal Kitchen has a very good variety on their menu ranging from oysters on the half shell to chicken options. The chef likes to try new things from making his own sausage to making home made ice cream using nitrogen so he can make a wide variety of flavors on the spot. The full bar is nice and the bartender, who also waited out table, was great. I like this place and the view is great too.

My favorite place to eat on SSI. Always great service and portions are just the right size. Fish selections are on fleek and cooked and seasoned well. Views of the boat docks and river towards the island are also a major plus.

We go to Coastal Kitchen several times a year. We ate there again last night and it was a little dissapointing. The temperature in the restaurant was very warm. I asked our server if they could turn the air conditioning down and he said that it gets hot because of the windows. Several tables around us were visibly hot as they were also wiping sweat from their faces. Our meals were served quickly, to quickly. I am pretty sure that they were not making to food to order. We will be back because it is one of the better places to eat in Glynn County nut I would recommend Coastal Shanty over Coastal Kitchen if you are wanting good, fresh, made to order meals at a reasonable price.

This was our first visit to this restaurant, and we will definitely be returning. We came in during a rain storm, without dinner reservations, and were seated quickly. The waitress was very nice and helpful with the menu recommendations. Our orders came out quickly, and everything was delicious. We tried the lobster nachos....awesome! My husband and son ordered raw bar items Shrimp and Oysters, my youngest daughter had a bowl of chowder, and my oldest daughter had the Ratatouille in a bell pepper, which was a work of art!!! We noticed on the online menu that they served "Rabbit Food" (vegetarian), and that is what helped us make our choice; ) I had the Georgia Banks scallops and shrimp, which was also beautiful and extremely yummy! We ended the meal with a nice conversation with the owner, who was a very friendly character that seems to really enjoy getting to know his customers. Can't wait to come back next trip!

(5)S J.
Food was ok, paella was not so good, watery and quite bland, shrimp and grits were very nice. The lobster nachos were a little disappointing the no real lobster flavor, way to much cheese sauce, the calamari good but again way too much sauce. The service overall very good, location nice.
(3)chip b.
We had a good diner here. Some small things were not perfect but still above average.
(3)Christina S.
(3)Michael O.
(5)andrea f.
(5)Angellica Y.
(5)David H.
Great restaurant with a great view. One of the best menu's on the island as well as great service
(5)Chad C.
(5)Gina L.
This was a great little find! The menu is interesting and the food was fantastic. We had great service. The only reason this place got 4 stars was because of the snooty hostess
(4)Darren B.
Cool place sort of hidden within a marina. We arrived and were seated in the bar area immediately. Next time we will make a reservation for outdoor or window seating. The view of the boats and the pier is cool. We had firecracker chicken rolls and dirty oysters for starters. The oysters were raw and topped with caviar and shallots. ..very tasty. Didi's entrée was a delicious shrimp and grits with a red gravy. I had the Georgia scallops and local shrimp entrée. ...excellent. the cocktail menu includes a few customized drinks. We sampled a few of them. The service was great as well. We will return.
(5)Aaron B.
(4)Lindsay B.
(4)Brandii W.
This place is heaven on earth! Its tucked away but I am sooo glad I found this place. Every time I come here I try something different and it's always a delicious experiance. My favorite is the ravioli, it's stuffed with seafood and everything is made right in their kitchen. Even the ice cream!
(5)Don O.
Food was great. The bartender mixed the drinks perfectly. Excellent service. The oysters were delicious. Our large party without reservations was handled with great hospitality. The owner Jeff obviously stays involved with his restaurant and it shows. So long and thanks for all the fish.
(5)Shannon S.
This is one of our new favorites in SSI! Ate here for the first time last year, and happy to say the second time was just as good! Great service, beautiful view of the marsh and marina, and incredible food! The entire table had redfish tonight and it did not disappoint! Hope to come back next year for more!
(5)Amanda C.
(4)Scarlett W.
(3)Jolene L.
Delicious seafood and burgers! Oyster popcorn, lobster nachos, crab cake blts & many more original recipes to try while you sit outdoors & enjoy the water!
(5)Di H.
(3)Holly C.

(5)Jenn S.

(4)Barbara I.
(5)Carolyn H.
Great location and wonderful food. Would love to give 4 1/2 stars as management needs to redo the menu to have a larger type face!!!! Our table of 4 had to almost guess at our options. Thanks for listening.
(5)Martin M.
Had dinner for 6 last night. We used to love this place but the food and service were lousy. Shrimp and Grits were terrible.
(1)Matt M.
(2)Julie B.
(4)Cambria B.
Fabulous crab cake Benedict. My husband had the shrimp and grits and he loved the entree. Seriously good grits. Beautiful setting. Good service.
(4)Tim N.
Still consistent, Still AMAZING service from Laura (sat at the bar today) and had the crab cake BLT w/sweet potato fries.... GREAT!
(5)John R.
(4)Meredyth Y.
We enjoyed the peel and eat shrimp and the local oysters. My date enjoyed his burger, and I thought my redfish entree was ok. The service was not terrible, but it did not meet our expectations.
(3)Jen N.
The oysters here were awesome! The grouper was great. This is a wonderful spot for lunch and dinner, the outdoor seating has a lovely view of the piers and boats, and everything was really good.
(4)ATL n.
For city folk like ourselves, probably the best food/dining experience on St Simons. The tuna sashimi is excellent and the wait staff was great.
(4)Natascha C.
I was visiting Georgia for my mother's wedding. This restaurant has good reviews, so this is where we decided to go to have some good seafood. It was ok. I think this place might have more hype than it should. The server was EXCELLENT, the food ok.
(3)Chris R.
Fabulous shrimp and grits with rich butternut squash sauce over boursin cheese grits -- generous portions. Several other shrimp and grits presentations as well. But that's not all, you'll want to return to taste the whole menu. Reasonable wine prices and a large beer selection.
(5)C C.
(4)Jonathan p.
Service was great. Blackened redfish was great. Tuna nachos don't forget to order. Great to eat outside with view of the docks. All the food was very well prepared. The chef and waitress even came up with butternut squash for my young son to eat. I must say I finished it
(4)Stuart O.
Had lunch - food was excellent. They were pretty busy so service was a bit slow but no problem as we weren't in a hurry. Freshest seafood we had during our visit to the Golden Isles. Will be back!
(4)Ann Marie D.

(4)Jessica H.
(2)Virginia M.
This is a nice spot to have a drink. I did not try the food here but I would return if I were in the area.
(3)Randy R.
I think it is the best shrimp in town. I'm not saying it is the best shrimp I've ever gotten but best in St. Simons Island.
(4)JOHN R.
Not the tourist trap. Genuine sea food. Great service.
(4)Don W.
(4)Sarah K.
(5)Dave S.
Very pleasant lunch. We were just in for a few hours to fuel up and keep moving up the coast, but St Simons and the Coastal Kitchen will be on my list of good stops sailing up and down the US East Coast.
(4)Wendy S.
I was impressed by Coastal. The atmosphere looks to be a little stuffy, but wasn't at all. The service was excellent but the food was definitely a cut above the rest. It was by far the best food we experienced.
(5)Jason C.
(4)Austin W.
Very close to being a great meal, but we had a few issues... The GA scallops was a great dish, but unfortunately over salted Lobster nachos would have been great, but it was served almost ice cold Other than that no big complaints, but it lacked the final touch in execution to deserve a 4 star.
(3)Katie H.
(2)Dustin K.
Visiting and asked a local for place he'd go for lunch....and this was it. Everything was great and I would recommend it to anyone!
(5)Dana K.
(5)Antonia D.
Great food, fun wine list, huge deck, fantastic atmosphere. Always a must-visit when in SSI.
(4)Will W.
Seemed to take forever to get our food but....Lobster nachos were good and full of lobster chunks. The grouper special was very good. Black grouper was not that good but the accompanying lobster rissoto was good.
(3)Kelly P.
Great place for a date. We took our time with wine and noshing in the outdoor deck. Waiters were scarce when appropriate and attentive when needed. We could share anything, with the staff plating the salad and entrees separately without being asked. Nice touch. Thanks for the great experience!
(5)Keith C.
The food was outstanding, however, the waitress displayed extremely unprofessional behavior. She made it very clear that she would have rather have gone home than serve a late table.
(4)Sarah A.
(5)Guerry N.
(4)Jack P.
(4)Alan P.
(4)Stacy P.
(4)Katie R.
(5)Hillarie R.
(2)Robin N.
We had lunch here. Beautiful setting, right at the marina. Food was great, all of us happy with our selections. Interesting specialty drinks. Most of the staff was friendly. Our waitress was a little snooty. Didn't come around too often, but all in all a good experience.
(4)Manchango F.
Best location always love the view. Great food thanks to chef Archie and his attention to detail. Brian the mgr. is super nice and incredibly attentive even when really busy. Always awesome! A pleasure. Very enjoyable everytime! My favorite for sure!
(5)Lindsey M.
Came here with my dad, Sam. Awesome service, great food, and beautiful views. Ahi tuna salad was amazing and fresh, fried shrimp awesome, red fish great! couldn't expect better! Very professional yet comfortable atmosphere. Definitely will return. This place is great!
(5)Andrew O.
Horrible crab cake Benedict. Actually feeling ill after eating a couple bites. I think they opened a can of crab flavored Fancy Feast and swished it in a pan of butter! Disgusting. The only reason they get one star is because the atmosphere looked nice. They need a new chef.
(1)Mare G.
I ordered the Fried shrimp and hubby ordered the shrimp and grits. Both were delicious! The flies were annoying but that seems to be common in Georgia's golden isles.
(4)M. Grant H.
(5)Evan P.
(5)Lisa M.
(1)Julie C.
The pork tenderloin was very good, tender and nestled in yummy green beans and mushroom with gravy. Our waitress went the extra mile by going behind the bar and making a drink for me when there was a delay. The view is lovely at Sunset.
(4)Melissa R.
It was good. Really enjoyed the view and rolls. Nothing was extra special but it was good. The waitress was really good.
(3)J P.
(5)Korey M.
Flavorless and unimpressed. Left after appetizers and didn't even bother to order entrees.
(1)Kate S.
The menu was very sophisticated and the fish I ordered was perfectly cooked and beautifully plated. The service was attentive and the view from the patio lovely on a summer evening. (The key lime pie we had for dessert was on the sweet side and not especially memorable.) But a wonderful dining experience overall!
(5)Jeffrey G.
(4)Rebecca S.
everything was great but my seared tuna on the asian salad was beyond pink in the middle. may have been a day old or overdone. Still VERY good... and we all loved the lobster nachos as an app.
(4)David J.
Me and a small group came here tonight for dinner for the first time. Restaurant was clean, prompt service, and great view. Prices were fairly priced and menu was very diversified. Started with the clam chowder which surprisingly was more like a ham soup instead of a true New England clam chowder...luckily everything else was so good to make up for this. I got the boiled shrimp which was great. Nice wine menu and stiff drinks. Creme brûlée to finish which was great. Highly recommend.
(4)Kay C.
(5)James B.
Great Shrimp and Grits, both traditional and new styles that are on the menu.
(4)Paula E.
(5)Julie B.
(4)Jskilicious S.
(4)Lindsey H.
LOVE COASTAL KITCHEN!!! The best happy hour on the island!! Order the Lobster Nachos.. they are fantastic!!
(5)Deb L.
(5)Joey R.
(5)Rebecca D.
(5)Scott C.
Recently discovered they have live jazz during Sunday's brunch. The brunch was already outstanding but this really adds a whole new level of relaxation and enjoyment.
(5)Tim W.
The food is so good! Cup of gumbo( authentic rue)! Shrimp and grits! Drinks superb!
(5)Lena C.

Excellent meal! Blackened redfish was perfect! Ambience on the outside patio overlooking the marina was the perfect start to a St. Simons vacation.
