Stopped in to get dinner before we headed to the fireworks river cruise. First the wait was only 10 minutes. By the time my honey and I got our beers they called my name to be seated. Our waitress was sweet and took our orders. We started off with crab stuffed mushrooms and spicy corn chowder. Both were equally delicious. Then my savannah shrimp salad was just scrumptious. The shrimp was incredibly fresh and plump. I left nothing on my plate. My honeys grilled meatloaf was equally orgasmic. I wish I had two stomachs to be able to eat both meals lol. Anywho we left satisfied and full. Happy 4 of July!!!!

Holy Smokes Batman! This was an amazingly great place to eat! Very friendly staff and great atmosphere! First time in Savannah, and this place just made it click

Really good tasting NY Strip. Had a little fat but was cooked well. For dessert we had bread pudding. Yummy. Wait staff was very friendly and good music played overhead.

Stopped in here after 12 hours in the car on our way to Florida. It was a chilly night so the patio at our first choice was not ideal so we stepped in here blind and glad we did Large menu with something for everyone. Shrimp and grits (yum!), fresh fish, large salads and tasty pasta dishes. All capped off with a perfect Moscow Mule and great house made Sangria recommended by our very friendly server. We all left happy and full.

  • Randall B.

Had the grouper that was great. Wife and I shared the shrimp and grits. Not so great. We are from Charleston SC the shrimp and grits from Hominy grill are WAY BETTER

  • Mary M.

Tried this after seeing the reviews. What a fantastic meal! My husband had the Cajun Mahi gumbo. Delicious! I had the Cajun seafood tortellini. So yummy! Definitely loved the sangria. Light & refreshing on a hot summer night. Paul, our waiter, was excellent & super friendly.

Amazing service especially for a group of 20 people. Water refills kept on coming and the two waitresses were spot on in trying to accommodate such a large crowd. The best part if the meal was definitely the fried green tomatoes. Also got the Parmesan crusted grouper; however was disappointed by the saltiness of the dish as well as the portion size for a $25 meal. Tried a little bit of the seafood trio as well which was definitely the best dish I had tonight and the tortellini which was so-so. Overall a good but not amazing meal:/

Not bad. Very cute place. Nice ambiance. Ordered the crab dip which wasn't bad. Not spectacular but solid. I then got the crab cake sandwich with fries. Fries weren't hot. Sandwich was good although the crab cake was a bit too salty. It almost tasted like the seasoning (old bay?) Was sprinkled on top as an afterthought. My mom ordered the Alfredo with shrimp. She said it was watery and bland with about 4 shrimp. She sent it back. While the food was not spectacular the service certainly was. Our server was very nice as was the manager. I would give it another try.

Not a bad place. Wait staff friendly. Great location down by the river. Reasonable prices. They do scrimp a bit on their ingredients. Hillshire Farms Summer Sausage it not typically what one expects in a low country boil. Will go again but stick with the burgers.

  • Miley M.

Absolutely loved this place! The food was delicious and the server was friendly and very knowledgeable of the menu. We got our food at a reasonable time even considering the amount of guest at the restaurant. We were sat in the little nook past the bar area. It's a quiet and cozy area and it has plenty of TVs with various sports games/ TV shows on.

  • John H.

Went here at 10:00 on Tuesday night, and it was good relaxing atmosphere. We did not eat, just came in for beers. However, what impressed me was the bartender. She told us the kitchen was open and we could order anything on the menu, the place closes at 10:30 which was really nice. Cold beer, good prices and the people next to us at the bar order food and the cheeseburger looked good!

  • Karen B.

Delicious meal. I ordered the grilled trio and it was some of the best seafood I have ever eaten. The staff was very friendly. I had a dirty martini, it was great.

This is the 1st Yelp review I've ever written because this place was that good. I am from NW Washington so we do not get this style combined with the quality food you get here. I was in town for work, the hotel concierge lady who was a life time local said Baracuda Bob's was Her highest recommendation. LOOK NO FUTHER THAN the Shrimp & Grits... I have a hard time thinking of a better a better meal I've had in my entire life... Really trying not to exaggerate. It was perfect. Not too spicy, great texture, perfectly cooked shrimp... Really flavorful. A guy sitting next me said he was born and raised in GA and this is the best grits dish he has ever had. (PS: Grits is like a soft corn bread texture...1st experience personally) Im going back tomorrow to have this meal again!

    (5)
  • Olivia P.

Okay let me start by saying we got the calamari and it was AMAZING, the best calamari I've ever had. Now second, I have an EXTREME dislike for tomatoes, ketchup ect and always order my meals with out it, and when my sandwich came out it had three large, juicy tomatoes which for some people that not an issue but for me it was a major issue (hence the 3 stars) just shows their lack of customer service, and the manager completely avoided us after I made my complaint. But all in all the food was good and service was nothing to write home about

  • Harrison H.

Best meal in Savannah. Get the shrimp lettuce wraps, they are great!

    (5)
  • D N.

Not too friendly hostesses, but I guess that's common for tourist spots. Our waiter was nice, though. Shrimp & Grits and Fried Green Tomatoes were delicious. Restroom was unexpectedly clean. Overall, we enjoyed it.

  • Rob G.

Open till 10:30 on Wednesday. The shrimp and grits were good to great depending on how you feel about the amount of sauce ( lots) and consistency of the grits ( mashed potatoes) . The grill was overcooked, but the service was attentive and friendly.

    (4)
  • Wendy Q.

While the food was just okay. However they do have very good customer service. The staff was friendly and the service was pretty quick. The fried shrimp and fries were warm-ish when it came out, like they'd been sitting under the heat lamp.

  • Josh N.

Good bar type spot to have a casual meal. Stopped in last night had a few drinks and some appetizers. Jack fries and crab stuffed mushrooms were awesome. Waitress probably could have been a little friendlier but she wasn't bad enough to dock a star. Definitely would come by again.

    (5)
  • Tina W.

We had the snow crab, and chicken fingers . all of them are delicious

    (5)
  • Joanne W.

Had the Ruben sandwich and chili. Wasn't impressed with the sandwich. Chili was good and spicy. Food wasn't horrible but not the best I'm sure savannah has to offer.

My wife and I were sitting in Kevin Barry's Pub trying to decide between the The Olde Pink House and Barracuda Bob's for dinner. I'm sure The Olde Pink House is awesome but Barracuda Bob's was amazing!!! Great food, great service!! A definite stop if you come to Savannah!!

During my few visits to Savannah, restaurants on River St. can be hit and miss. This one was def a hit. Great service and great food. I and the Crab Cake Sandwhich w/ fries. I would give the sandwich a B but the fries get an A+! The best meal in our party was probably the Grouper bites. They were cooked perfectly with a great taste. Also, our waitress mentioned to us that if you visit this place and decide to come back with a week (I think) then you get a BOGO entree. I will revisit this place during my next visit to Savannah.

  • Elizabeth S.

Got there around 9 on our first night in Savannah. We were trying to avoid a touristy place but we checked on Yelp and this place looked good. Big portions and they were a lot of seafood in my seafood cajun tortellini. The shrimp and scallops were cooked to perfection also. The flavors were good but it needed some more spice. We are Mexican and from California so we like heat in our food which was lacking (except the crab corn chowder which was spicy and really good.) Good selection of beer and they had a really good shandy.

    (4)
  • Tom S.

I had the Fish and Chips. The fish and fries were dark brown, with the fries excessively greasy and luke warm. My wife had the shrimp salad which she said was 'ok'. The service was decent, but slow; even though we arrived at 2PM and there were not many customers. The prices were fair, for a touristy location. I would not eat here again.

    (2)
  • Lori D.

Delish! Came in based on reviews. Crab cakes were the bomb! Seafood trip, tilapia and shrimp for meals, great portions! Nice atmosphere. Will definitely return.

    (5)
  • Marla D.

YUM! Eat here... you will not be disappointed. Staff super friendly and helpful - they brought us samples of the soups for the kiddos (me too!). My 5 and 3 year olds loved the Crab Gumbo soup - me too. Great flavors - not boring and reasonably priced. Brendan was our server and super great with our kids! Friendly and good oh and great location!

  • Jeff J.

Oh my...awesome. Barracuda's was recommended by a friend...I'm glad I ate here. I had the fried green tomatoes, Service IPA, grilled shrimp with real "dirty" mashed potatoes and sauteed veg's....my server was Bob. One word for service, decorum and food....AWESOME....DELICIOUS...GREAT!! I'm glad I ate here and will definitely come back!

    (5)
  • Josh W.

We ordered the gator tail appetizer which was very tough. Sent it back and got the crab stuffed mushrooms which were very good. My entree was the ribeye with mashed potatoes and fresh vegetables. The steak was very tender with great flavor. My daughter had the chicken fingers and fries which were some of the best I've ever tasted. Enjoy!

    (4)
  • Tim P.

Fantastic! Had a little sampler of everything and was thoroughly impressed. Highly recommend!!

  • Wes C.

Working out of town and happened to come across this place. Kind of picked it because of the name. Good service, Everyone was nice and it has a great view of the river. Had an awesome burger and you have to try the fried gator tail.

  • Nichole S.

My group of four had dinner here our first night in Savannah, it was pretty busy so we ended up sitting in the bar area for about 35 minutes until a table was ready. While we waited we ordered their Sangria which was made in house and very good. For dinner, we had one of the special appetizers which was Cajun spiced grilled tuna bites that came with an avocado cream- it was very good. I ended up having the Parmesan crusted grouper topped with lump crab, it was pretty good. Very fresh tasting and very well cooked. Another person in my party had the shrimp and grits which she enjoyed, while another had a tortellini pasta which she said was just ok.

    (4)
  • Stewart G.

Enjoyed the fried shrimp and oysters!

    (4)
  • Michael O.

The atmosphere and wait staff are amazing! The seafood platter was AMAZING! The TVs and their locations were on point. The bar area is immaculate and the orders come out fast. This is my NEW Go-To seafood spot whenever I'm in Savannah.

    (5)
  • Cathy S.

The waiter was as charming as they come. He knew the menu by heart. the service was top notch. The food was absolutely delicious!!! I had the seafood trio. It was very fresh and cooked perfectly. I also got a carafe of sangria. So good!!! It was $15 and I had 3 glasses full. It was some of the best I've had. I highly recommend Barracuda Bob's to any and all!!!

    (5)
  • Amy A.

Decent food for the river walk. Good beer selection. Try the gator. We both had fish that were B+ dishes. Waiter is very knowledgable and friendly. Great bar area with huge tvs but beware of smelling like fish no matter where you sit and what you order.

    (4)
  • Edrenea F.

our group had dinner here and we all enjoyed both the food and drink as well as the terrific service. When we encountered rude service at another establishment down the street we returned here for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed another meal. All 5 of us loved the food and drinks from peel & eat shrimp, shrimp & grits, seafood trio, burger, wings and gator tail. It's all good.

    (5)
  • Vilma G.

We ordered and the food came out in about 2 minutes! No way it was made fresh! Good service but we weren't looking for a fast food restaurant.

    (2)
  • Andre F.

Good service. The hot wings and fried green tomatoes were to salty. We split the low country boil. Less than average. It seems as if the potatoes, shrimp and corn were boiled separate from each other and then some old bay seasoning sprinkled on top. Please have me over for a quick tutorial on seasoning your boils.

  • Brian B.

No complaints in any department. The food was above average bar food, they have a great selection of local beers on draft and the bartender was quick and friendly. I went safe and had a burger and fries, but both were great. Their fries are hand cut and uniquely seasoned. The burger was huge and perfectly cooked. I sat at the bar and have no insight on how the waitstaff is, but the bartender was good. Not sure if I would come back next time I'm in town only due to my wanting to try something new. But I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it if someone wanted to go there and needed a reference.

Though I felt the presentation lacked a little polish, and the prices were on the high side, Barracuda Bob's delivered tasty, well-prepared food in the midst of a very touristy area otherwise filled with chain restaurants and generic-looking local joints. I took the bartender, Josh, at his word on the choice between fried gator tail and blackened tuna as an appetizer, and went with the latter, which was very tasty indeed, each piece generously seasoned and still nicely rare in the center, served over avocado puree and roasted corn in a creamy concoction. As I mentioned above, the presentation could do with a little more pizzazz to lift it above the impression that the components were just sort of plopped onto the plate, but I can't fault the actual culinary experience. I had the grilled seafood trio as my entree (broiled crabcake, four nicely-sized grilled shrimp, and a brace of succulent scallops, with slender roasted asparagus spears and red potatoes mashed with the skin on) which was also very good. At $25, I would have hoped for a little less filler in the crab cake, and perhaps slightly more juiciness to the shrimp, but the scallops were cooked to absolute perfection, and more would have been better. Again, the presentation was fine but somehow lacked verve. I asked for, and promptly received, cocktail sauce, tartare sauce and Tabasco to liven things up - but it seemed the dish was crying out for them, just to liven things up a bit. Overall - i wish I could give this place 3.5 stars - I feel it could easily merit 4 with a little tweaking, but 3 seems rather meager for what was, after all, a very tasty and satisfying meal.

I was very excited to eat here but after spending $100 on dinner I wish I had gone elsewhere. We were sat quickly and our waitress came over right away. Our waitress was very good, she was attentive and friendly. My only complaint on her service is that the wait for my second drink was about 15 minutes and by that time we were done eating and ready to go. Yes, I can take my drink with me but I would have much rather have had it with my dinner to help wash down the "food". We ordered the fried green tomatoes, we had a coupon for a free appetizer. If we didn't have the coupon I would never actually pay for them. We then shared a wedge salad, VERY delicious. However, for eight dollars you don't get much? It wasn't exactly a wedge but more of just a small salad. I ordered the fried grouper. Honestly, I don't even think it was grouper. Tasted very, very fishy. A $20 meal and I had maybe a few bites. It was very unappetizing. My boyfriend ordered the steak and cheese. What a JOKE! Just call it a roast beef sandwich with a slice of provolone. The meat was very dry and he could not even taste the green pepper relish they put on it. It is just a tourist trap and not worth your time.

Our server, Autumn, was a riot. Funny, engaging, high energy and friendly. Southern hospitality is clearly real and infectious. Sweet tea. That's what you should drink. Mix it with jack or Rum or shoot, Gin of you must, but sweet tea is where it's at! Especially if you are from California and like, think that everything is like, totally better in Cally. Sadly, it's not. Gator soup. I never know if it's really gator inside, but I try it anyway cause I am so adventurous and stuff. Deliciously thick, muddy (in a great way) warm yourself up kinda soup. Crab cake sandwich. Excellent potential here. It's fresh, it's HUGE, it's.... a bit bland. If it was seasoned a little better, I'd give it 4 stars in and of itself. Meatloaf sandwich. This is a thing of beauty and delicious! It's visually stunning to see a giant slab of meatloaf panini pressed between two slices of bread. Absolutely fantastic idea and well executed. Sadly, I don't know if I will ever make it back to Savannah, but if I do, I will definitely drop by again and ask to see Autumn. If only to see her laugh at us Cally folks for asking "is the sweet tea fresh or bottled?"

The place is right off River Street so the location is prime if you're looking for a place to eat after walking around. The staff were friendly and attentive from beginning to the end. The food was mixed. The fried green tomatoes were good but was a bit on the salty side with some bites more saltier than others. The batter was nice and flaky and the buttermilk dipping sauce was great. The blackened snapper with vegetables was good, the dish looked great, but the snapper was kind of rubbery. The highlight was the shrimp and grits though! The shrimp was nice and plump, the Cajun sauce was creamy and rich, and the grits were easy to eat. You can probably inhale the grits if you don't watch yourself. All in all it's a safe place to eat to enjoy good food off River Street.

  • Rob H.

It is what it is. A bar with food. Not a restaurant that serves creative, fresh food with care. A worthy restaurant if you need somewhere to go in a tourist rich area that provides "good" food for moderate pricing. Great service and a wide selection of beer. We sat outside to people watch. Several wide screen TVs to track your sport teams. Ask the server to recommend a craft beer catered to your tastes.

  • Keith B.

Good enough. Great Location. I had pan seared snapper and my wife had the scallops. Really nothing extraordinary, and each dish was $20+. I did really have a good Savannah IPA.

  • Beau M.

If you want to experience great fried food I suggest going here! After spending a few days in Savannah, I came to realize that their food isn't the greatest. And their lack of southern food, is quite surprising. So the next best thing is the glorious fried goodness of the South! We order fried shrimp, fried fish, fried green tomatoes, and fried alligator! Their flaky, buttery goodness made my little heart happy! Only downside was pricing due to the location being on River Street, and every shop on River Street is typically overpriced. It's like the Times Square of Savannah! And I feel like for the pricing I could've gotten a bit more food. Otherwise. I recommend going here if you want to indulge in Barracuda Bob's fried goodness!

  • Todd M.

This place is mediocre at best very touristy The shrimp and grits were pretty good ,but the crab cakes were awful .

    (3)
  • Sarah C.

Really good large peel-and-eat shrimp, nice spicy Guiness wings that were very meaty, and crab stuffed mushrooms with lots of crab meat. Our food came out quickly and the bartender was very friendly. They have lots of drinks to choose from too, beers on tap, in the bottle, tons of wines and liquor as well. VERY good for the price to be sure. We loved this place!

    (4)
  • Luckie D.

Located on River street next to River Street Sweets and directly across from the ferry landing coming from the Westin. It's about the food ! A party of four went and sat t the bar. The Guinness wings, alligator bites, Cuban sandwich tuna sashimi and the blacked tuna bites were all outstanding. A very nice small batch bourbon selection complimented by decent bartender service made the 3 hour eat-fest a raging success.

  • Ju M.

Meh. I'm not really sure what all the hoopla is about, but the food was a bit mediocre. If you want to put mediocrity in your mouth, then this place is for you. Gator bites - these guys looked like imposter popcorn chicken covered in a shiny glisten. They were so salty I felt my face retaining water and blowing up like a puffer fish. Tuna tacos - wtf. More like tuna nugget covered in crazy seasoned salt tacos. If you want salt lick tacos then go for it. Swordfish - it was okay. A bit dry and lackluster but bearable. Potatoes - fucking potatoes save the day again. The mash potatoes were pretty okay and the fries were actually good. Service - above average friendly service. Would I go here again? Noooooope Would I recommend it to a friend? A shitty friend....maybe.

Something for everyone. We had the Bob's Cobb (delicious and filling even without the added chicken), the Philly sandwich with dipping sauce, and our kids had chicken fingers and fries. Fries were a hit with everyone and the chicken fingers were enough for a grownup meal too. Reasonably priced and yummy.

    (4)
  • Joshua S.

Ok place. Drinks are awesome. Best (and only) Moscow mule in town. Good seemed a bit uninspired, and my mashed potatoes were definitely of the instant variety. Drinks and appetizers were great, but dinner was so so.

Thrilled to have just a good seafood platter... My wife kept asking around Savannah for an honest good down home seafood restaurant. Barracuda Bob's came out on top of all the suggestions. I have to agree that we were very pleased. We split a fried platter. Shrimp, oysters, scallops, and Grouper. It couldn't have been better. The fries were not frozen... The Cole slaw was great, and I don't like slaw. Good atmosphere on the riverfront. Reasonably priced. Casual. What's not to like. If you want good simple seafood, try this. I will be back.

  • Monique F.

This was my first time in Savannah and I wish it wasn't so cold but it was nice. My co-worker and I wanted seafood so we decided to try this place. It wasn't crowded at all and we were seated immediately. I decided to try the Cajun Tortellini and the waitress said it was one of her favorites. It was soooo good! Not spicy at all, which was what I expected but the shrimp and scallions in the creamy sauce was really good. I would definitely try this dish again and even come back to try something else. I loved that there were TVs so I could catch ESPN too :) I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area!

  • David J.

Can to Savannah for father's day weekend and discovered this place. The staff was great, and very friendly. All I can say about what I had the Cajun pasta tortellini is heaven on a plate!!!.

  • Porsche C.

The fries here are amazing! Even though I had the regular ones as a side with my Lump Crab Cake sandwich, they were extremely delicious. I would have to say they were the best thing I ate at the restaurant which is somewhat disappointing. The Lump Crab Cake sandwich was ok good, but not mouth watering delicious as I expected it to be. My friend ordered the chicken fingers which had no taste or flavor whatsoever. The best way to eat something is without any dipping sauce to taste the real flavor, and I did not taste any type of flavor in those chicken fingers. It took a little bit for our waitress to come ask for our drinks, but overall, she was very friendly and provided great service. For the price of our food, it was not worth it. But maybe we just ordered the wrong dishes, if I ever come back, I'm definitely ordering something else that will hopefully exceed my expectations.

    (3)
  • Michael M.

Pretty good and interesting food choices, but a bit overpriced and touristy like everything else on the riverfront. The Guiness Wings are their 'best seller' but we're bland and dry with ranch that was not very flavorful. The crab stuffed mushrooms were pretty rubbery. The po' boy (which two others in our party ordered) was also bland and boring. The service wasn't great either. All in all, I've had worse, but I've tried other places that were better on the river.

    (3)
  • Paul B.

The place is very nice inside, service was decent. I had the blackened tuna tacos which were very good. I tried some of my friend's beer battered fish, and it was good as well. I really liked the fries, they appeared hand cut and were crispy with a little sea salt. Wide selection of craft brews, unfortunately I was on a working lunch so no beer for me today. It was a little pricey to me for what it was, but that's just because of the location on River Street.

    (3)
  • Pete K.

Wow!! Yelp to the rescue. So much to choose from. Went with BBs because of the ratings. Blackened Tuna bites were insane, mixing avocado, corn, and blackened Tuna. Crab corn chowder was awesome just "slightly" too spicy for me but I'm a puss w spice. Seafood trio was fantastic. Scallops soft as butter.

While I didn't expect it to necessarily be the case, Barracuda Bob's was my best dining experience in Savannah, and it's certainly worth a visit if you're in the area. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? BB's can get packed on a weekend eve, but the friendly staff churn through the queue quickly. From there, there's abundant seating within an excellent historic building that can seat a party of any size. The food comes fast, and you can't ask for much more than that. Star Granted. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? $20.95 is a lot for a Cajun Seafood Tortellini dish, and while this was was a seemingly sizable and rich meal, the content weren't quite enough to fill me up entirely. Have a look: yelp.com/user_local_phot… It looks like there's a lot there, but at the end of the day we're talking about roughly 20 pieces of tortellini, 6 shrimp and maybe 5 or 6 scallops. Worth $20.95? Not quite. No Star Granted. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? Marvelous. As I mentioned, this was my best dish in Savannah. The sauce was absolutely brilliant, and had just the kick I was looking for. The cheesy tortellini meshed perfectly with the seafood bits, and the whole thing had me beyond content. Well done. Dual Stars Granted. Star 5: Would you eat here every day if you could? With a varied menu, a great location, and great food, I would, but keep in mind that prices are on the high side for Savannah. Star Granted.

If you read other reviews like I did, you may notice that there are three main dishes which garner the most praise: the shrimp n grits, jambalaya, and the seafood pasta. Based on my group's experience: stick to those three. We enjoyed our appetizers. Tuna tartare and the crab dip were very good. Gator tail was pretty much indistinguishable from a chicken nugget, though. I had the seared scallops for my entree. Good flavors, but the scallops were pale and completely lacking the actual sear. For $25, that was a crucial element to miss. Two people had the grouper and proclaimed it so bland it was practically inedible. Our anti-seafooder had grilled chicken and said it was OK. The two who got the shrimp n grits and jambalaya raved about them and shared with the rest of us who were totally envious. The manager did stop by the table after hearing about the grouper woes. That was an appreciated touch. The energy is nice. The bartenders are fun and the draft selections are quite good. I did enjoy my time at BB's, although in the future I'd stick to the standout dishes, especially since the prices for those are so reasonable.

We were in town Wedding Venu looking and my fiance found this place for us to have dinner at with his parents and I am so glad he did! The inside is very old world with the exposed brick and wood beams. We sat in the downstairs portion. I saw stairs leading upstairs. If they have an upstairs room\banquet area I bet that it is stunning! The hostess was friendly and our server was so polite and made sure our drinks were filled at all times :) I ordered the Low Boil which consisted of corn, potatos. shrimp and sausage and came with a side of cole slaw. It was so good!!! There was ample amount of food that my fiance had some as well :) I would highly recommend this place to visitors :)

Honestly I can't say enough good things about this place. Hands-down the best service and food during my entire trip to Savannah. Let's start off with the service - top-notch. Our waitress was very flexible and accommodating. I was traveling with my grandmother and her friend (both 75+) and the waitress allowed them to make their own entree by substituting several items. She was patient in answering questions, quick to refill drinks, and did all this without suffocating us. Now onto the food - AMAZING. We had two appetizers - the fried green tomatoes and blackened tuna bites. Even if you don't like tuna - GET the tuna bites! They're wonderful. They have an amazing seasoned crust on the outside. I had shrimp and grits and I was blown away. The shrimp were big and perfectly cooked. The grits were REAL grits and covered in a Cajun cream sauce. It also had sautéed red peppers and onion and andouille sausage. The sausage neither added nor took away from the dish for me. Others in my group had the fried tilapia and the seafood tortellini. Everyone was really pleased with what they got. If you're going to Savannah and staying for any length of time - this is a must-see on your trip!

I have visited Savannah several times and have never liked the food on River Street until I had Bob's shrimp and grits..... Wow!! Incredible food and great beer flights. The service was slow but they were pretty busy, I would def go back!!!

I'm in heaven here. The food is so good and prepared with love. I love the fact that it was hot when I got it. Flavor, speed and hot food makes this place an A+++ in my opinion.

We tried barracuda Bobs because of a few reviews i saw on yelp and another recommendation i saw. We just arrived in Savannah and were both starving so we headed to river street and the first place we saw was barracuda bobs. we were greeted prompted and seat quickly the restaurant was kind of empty but it was just a friday afternoon and it was past the lunch rush i would assume. We started with the Pimento cheese we were in Savannah so we had to try it, and it was good it had a green tomato relish on top with crisp bacon and it had a nice heat to it we torn it up with the pita they served with it. CHristina ordered a shrimp salad sandwich she really liked, the salad wasn't to heavily dressed and the shrimp were a good size. For lunch I had the peel and eat shrimp which were awesome salty savory briny and served over toast points with that buttery old bay shrimp sauce that forms when everything combines. this was dish after my own heart. I would definitely stop in again maybe for a quick snack and a beer.

Wonderful service, great atmosphere, would recommend to anyone just wanting to hang with your friends , have a few good drinks but still get served great food.

Came here about 10:45p ( they close at 11:30 - which is great because a lot of places on the river close at 10 ) & got the best waiter. Their crab dip is to die for! I got the crab/shrimp au gratin and the homemade Sangria. Amazing!! I'll definitely come back for the crab dip alone. They also have an extensive bar so whatever you're in the mood for .. they can make it and you can take it to go. Between my boyfriend and I, dinner was about $80 (minus tip) but well worth it.

Went here for lunch. Tuna burger is excellent. I wasn't expecting it to be that good. The melted blue cheese and spices are good. Good beer selection. Casual, fun atmosphere.

Rob was an awesome server. He knew the menu, hand picked two meals and beer for my wife and me. Highly recommend the shrimp and grits and Cajun tortellini. The tortellini has shrimp and melt In your mouth scallops. We had both of our boys with us and there we 5 other families. Very kid friendly, great food, cold craft beer, and an awesome server - Rob)

When I arrived, I had to wait a few minutes to be helped, but that wasn't a problem. When all the food arrived, I was stunned. It all looked amazing and I'd definitely recommend this!

A great place to eat and have a drink! This was the most affordable restaurant near the river that offered high quality seafood and food in general. The atmosphere fits this city. Old exposed brick, upscale feel, and great service. I had the Choice Ribeye 16 oz. It was cooked to my liking and the flavor was good. The vegetable medley was less than desirable but the mashed potatoes that came with it were amazing!!!!

  • Deb B.

the food was good. I had the meatloaf burger and it was a bit salty. The fries were incredible. Everybody else enjoyed their lunch. The service was good. It was your average place on River Street. I can say it was one of the better bloody marys I've had down there.

Love the service the low country boil is the best! I go here every time I'm downtown and get some drinks and the low country boil the nachos are also great

Loved this place. Read about it in a travel book. It did not disappoint. We had a variety of food. The crab and chowder soup was amazing with lots of layers plus a kick of spice. The shrimp salad sandwich was fresh and flavorful. The green salad had cucumbers, hard boiled egg, mixed greens, and a little cheese. The meal is called the trio. Off the kids menu we had pasta Alfredo. It was good as well. Noodles ala dente and sauce made fresh. I well definitely come back. Service was good too!

  • Austin M.

Overall a really great place to eat! The ambiance was nice and the staff was very friendly. I order the fried oysters and fried scallops and my girlfriend ordered the salmon fettuccine. I should have probably ordered normal oysters or the other seafood I was eyeballing, but I cannot complain. The salmon was great, but the pasta itself was overall basic. The noodles tasted like a glorified spaghetti. All minor complaints aside, Barracuda Bob's is a great restaurant to visit on any trip to Savannah. I would return again on my next trip.

Great atmosphere & the food was amazing! We got the crab dip yum! And the crab cake and shrimp salad Sandwich, very impressed with everything

  • Mark B.

The food is mediocre at best. I had the seafood feast and the "fries" looked more like they had been simmered in lukewarm oil rather than deep fried. The rest would have benefited from a little more seasoning. The rice in the gator gumbo was crunchy and the bruschetta was average at best, needing more basil and balsamic. On the bright side, server Josh was attentive and efficient. He definitely deserves more than three stars but unfortunately the food sabotaged him.

Not a bad restaurant when visiting the Savannah River. Their menu has about everything and will satisfy even the pickiest of eaters. Burgers, salads and sandwiches were eaten on our visit and all were great. We would visit again.

Came in for a quick lunch and beer and they have gator bites!!! They are not on the regular menu but they have them here! So yummy. The shrimp and grits is really good too. Nice lunch portions :) stop in here for some yummy food!!!!

  • R E.

Shrimp and grits are every bit as good as the other reviews and pictures. I think it could possibly be the best plate of food I've had. The calamari is the best I've ever had. Ever. You should make this place a part of any trip near Savannah. Bold flavor and no stingy portions here.

Stopped in for lunch. HUGE selection of beer. Food was delicious! I had the salad with grilled chicken and it had lots of fresh veggies and homemade croutons. My husband had the shrimp basket and loved it. We will be back!

The shrimp and grits was good, but the crab and corn chowder was salty beyond belief!!! First experience for fried green tomato, it wasn't bad

Thought this would be a great restaurant to eat at and was sadly mistaken. 5 people in the restaurant and they never checked on us. Food crumbles on seat and prices on menu did not reflect the receipt we got. we got wings with no sauce and mentioned it to veteran staff and a sorry was said. how do you eat wings with no sauce?? lol

We just enjoyed a savory Swordfish dinner. It was delicious. So were the mashed potatoes and Julienne mixed veggies. We are visiting from Florida and found this restaurant on Yelp. Many others rated it well so I figured we would be ok with this restaurant. Our waiter Josh provided excellent service and we would definitely come again.

Pretty nice place. Clean. Friendly. Fresh catch. Sat at bar. Little pricey but good food. Drinks good flavor. Seemed like hometown people everywhere.

  • Chris L.

Came here based on yelp reviews. I had the grilled chicken. My wife had the meatloaf. My mother in law had the pasta jambalaya. None of it was special. On par with an applebees or tgi fridays. The service was pretty good. We sat outside and had a nice view of the river. If I am ever back in Savannah I would skip this place.

  • Kristin B.

Literally the worlds best Reuben. So so good! My fiancé had the grilled Cajun chicken which he raved about. Ordered tuna tartar app which was not to our liking and they quickly took it off the bill. Sat at the bar and they were fantastic and friendly. Craving the Reuben now that I'm back in atlanta!

  • Eric R.

My wife had the raspberry daiquiri which she thought was great. The crab cake was great as an appetizer. I had the pimento cheese burger which was cooked perfectly medium. Very tasty! My wife got the Parmesan grouper. The portion was so large she couldn't even eat half. We WILL come back! Catron was an incredible server. Ask for her and you won't be disappointed!

You know that it's good when it's the only place with a wait on Monday night. Good cocktails, good vibe. We had the seafood trio, tuna tartare, tuna bites, chef salad, and a girl-scout cookie pie. Everything was great. The chef salad was HUGE! Loved the dessert. Service was friendly and fast. Recommended.

Holy crap this place is good. It is clean, the staff is super friendly, the portions are big and the food is delicious. What more can you ask for in a restaurant? I started off with a local draft beer (Apparition Ale) and the tuna tartar. It was tossed with a mayo sauce but it wasn't too much. The sever, Tommy, recommended the turkey and bacon sandwich so I ordered it with some reservation. I'm not a big fan of going out and ordering a sandwich. It was fantastic. I'm not sure what they do to that bacon but I like it. I wish I had more time in Savannah so I could try a few more things on the menu.

  • Marissa P.

Was definitely a fan of this spot right on the river! The pimento cheese spread is awesome! It's served with a sweet jalapeño relish and bacon. So tasty! The shrimp poboy was also tasty but a little dry. The fries were bomb! Service was super friendly, a bit slow but nothing that would keep me from coming back! Food was affordable and tasty!

Barracuda's was fantastic, and the plates were huge. Unless you're ravenous, you could easily split a plate with your date. Homemade sauces are delicious and unique. Service was wonderful and the manager on duty was friendly and helpful.

Don't be fooled by the Touristy name. They have an awesome shrimp and grits and the Halibut was like butter! Just enough breading. Went for lunch and the staff was friendly. I didn't want a full portion of shrimp and grits so they offered me just the grits with sausage! Wish I had gotten the full portion! Hearty and flavorful.

  • Dawn H.

Good selection... we stopped here for lunch after one of the bus tours. The flavors were awesome in the shrimp and grits and the crab corn chowder. We started off with the barracuda fries and asked for a side of the malt vinegar aoili. Wonderful!

Good food. The waiter was a bit spacey, but he made up for it by being very accommodating and friendly. My boyfriend got the seafood platter and said it was okay. I got a basic burger which was really good, and they let me swap out the fries for asparagus at no extra charge. I'd definitely go back.

  • Kim W.

I ordered the mahi po'boy and it came with fries. The piece of fish was huge and the sandwich was delicious. I asked for some dipping sauces and the waiter brought us some homemade honey and horseradish sauce, which was extremely thick and had a nice kick. We also got the homemade ranch which was delicious. I recommend.

Read all of the good Yelp reviews before deciding on Barracuda Bob's for lunch (10/18/14) though I have to admit, I was still concerned that the food would be 'bland' and the service so-so as is typically the case of so many restaurants in any of the more touristy parts of a city. So happy that my doubts were proven fruitless. The staff was friendly from the moment we walked in. My husband and I were seated in a nice booth, the restaurant clean and the decor tasteful for a bar and grill. Our waitress was very friendly, knew the craft brews and menu well. Timing of drinks and food was perfect, did not have to wait long for anything. We each started with a flight of various seasonal craft beers and shared the Gator Tail Appetizer. The gator was fantastic - tender and warm, the sauce drizzled as to not soak the fried bits of deliciousness and offered just enough of a kick, topped off with fresh scallions. For our lunch mains, my husband had the Blackened Tuna Tacos. He loved them. Being from Pensacola Beach and a hobby fisherman, he is quite picky about the quality of his seafood. The tuna was fresh and the spicy slaw on point. I had the (appetizer portion) Tuna Bites. Again, the tuna was fresh, perfectly blackened - loved the paring of the avocado puree. Perfect lunch portions and prices. We will be back next time we are in Savannah.

  • Pumpkin P.

I was so hungry by the time we arrived, which is why I'm surprised I didn't enjoy the food more. I had a crab cake sandwich. I think there were two problems, 1- not enough flavor, & 2- mushy texture. The crab cake needed something to give it some crunch. I tried my husbands gator gumbo, it was just OK. It had a funny after taste too. They have rave reviews so maybe it was an off day?

First time to Savannah Georgia and my first time at barracuda Bob's. Our waiter, Paul, was so friendly and entertaining. His attitude and fun-loving spirit made the meal that was totally delicious even better. Kudos to Paul and barracuda Bob's we loved it!!!!

The guy at the door is madd funny lets start there, very inviting. When I looked in from the outside just standing outside I thought it was a dive then I walk in and get seated and im like wow- how did I get that so wrong lol really good place to eat!

Tried this place after poring over reviews, what a great find! We started with the peel & eat shrimp, large and spiced just right, a great app with a cold craft beer of which they many. I had a NY strip which was prepared just to my liking. My wife had blackened snapper, which was spicy but good. A friend ordered the jambalaya pasta which was fantastic, that would be my choice on another visit. Good service and 15 min seating on a Saturday night, we were pleased.

  • Rebecca B.

Ah-mazing! Came here because of Yelp reviews. Everything, food, atmosphere, service, was fabulous. Our server, Julia was great. Even took the time to answer our questions about what we NEEDED to do while visiting. Food portions were huge, could only finish half my Jambalaya pasta. My husband really loved his pan-seared scallops.

Great ambiance and fantastic service. kristie was out server and she was very knowledgeable of the menu and spot on with service - checking back frequently without being overbearing. Her menu recommendations were great - mahi on the gator gumbo was so good even my boyfriend a seafood hater took multiple bites. They also made us pecan crusted chicken instead if the fish crusted which turned out so good they should consider adding to the menu. Gator appetizer was very tasty. Overall very good food - reasonably priced and ask for Kristie - great server.

I ate here with my wife, parents, three sisters and their spouses. Total party of 10. The food was excellent. Our server (Josh) did a great job with our large party. The only negative aspect of our visit was a foul mouthed patron that was dropping the F-bomb and various other curse words loudly. When the manager on duty was asked by my sister to attend to the unruly patron the manager did not seem to take her complaint seriously. Ultimately the unruly patron left. It is understandable that you may encounter a hind end in a public place however I was disappointed in the manner the manager allowed the disruption. This is not a place I would take my Mother again.

Read the reviews and tried it. The crab corn chowder is fabulous, creamy, thick, and spicy. The fries here are so good that you don't need ketchup. My crab cake sandwich was good, lots of crab and little fill like breadcrumbs lots of places use. My husband enjoyed his fried shrimp po'boy. The waiter was friendly and efficient. Hope to return soon.

  • Kenn E.

Overall disappointing. The atmosphere was nice and the service was friendly. The food was a definite miss. We started with the gator gumbo which was ok. But the tune tartare was off. The knife cuts were weird and the whole thing was over dressed. The addition of tomato meant you couldn't tell the difference between them or the tuna. And flavors were lost. Worst of all the shrimp were overcooked. The kitchen screwed up and had our entrees out at the same time as the apps. And messed up the order to boot. Not terrible but there are better choices at the price range.

After being treated very rudely and basically left another restaurant due to my kids no being allowed to eat dinner ages 18, and 20! WE came here. Oh God am I glad. It was 10 pm at that time on a Saturday night and we were starving!! Our Waitress Katelyn was great! she was upbeat, knowledgeable and made great suggestions! started with Guinness wings, which any other day I would have had alone as my meal. really good flavor! and Shaved calamari. Everyone at my table loves this stuff except me, but even I liked this version!! super light!! I had steak and it was really good!! my sister and niece shared seafood platter and said it was GREAT! the service and Food made this a much better night and I would gladly recommend you try it. We sat in Bar area, and I liked that also!

Just visited this new restaurant on River Street in Savannah. The calamari was a unique take on a classic appetizer! My husband said the shrimp and grits was the absolute best he'd ever had! I enjoyed a flavorful crab cake and the kids pleased with their meals off the children's menu. Tonya was warm and efficient server who made excellent recommendations for our family lunch.

We stopped by Barracuda Bob's on a whim while on our honeymoon. We were on a schedule and once the management knew that they went way out of our way to make sure we had our appetizers, beer flight, and entree's out very quickly. They were happy to give us tips of things to do while in Savannah as well. Service was amazing, but on top of that the food was extraordinary. We had the ceviche, fried green tomatoes, Cuban, and a crab cake sandwich. Every item was incredibly delicious and fresh. Would definitely. recommend this place to others.

Excellent food! Fantastic service! Being a Yankee, I never thought I'd have the opportunity, or the desire, to eat gator, but after a little nudging from our friendly server, Paul, I'm so glad I ordered the gator tail bites with Tabasco aioli. Perfectly crunchy-breaded outside with the soft-succulent-rich, almost buttery inside, mmmmm. Everything was perfectly prepared and delicious, from the stuffed flounder, fresh mashed potatoes, & grilled asparagus to the creamy, yet tart, key lime cheesecake and freshly brewed coffee, I highly recommend Barracuda Bob's!

Walk on by... Slow, I mean SLOW, service for barely average food, and do not order the garlic-less bread. Nice perky waitress who chitchatted with other tables after giving us our excuses - wine served to someone else, waiting for beer to be pulled which is why she brought water (uh, one water, two people with no drinks), finally brought wine, hubby walked to bar for the beer. Shrimp salad was good, shrimp & crab au gratin ok nothing special, mashed potatoes cold but the julienned veggies were delicious. Maybe people who went to the bar had better service, maybe the kitchen wanted rid of our waitress... Don't know, not good enough to return to except to perhaps see if they make it.

We chose this place because we were hungry and they had more than one football game showing on a Sunday afternoon. My guy and I bellied up to the bar and the bartender, though a bit swamped, was funny and friendly. I wish I could remember his name but I think it started with a B. He gave me a good local beer recommendation and then we ordered our food. I ordered a cuban sandwich and subbed veggies for fries. My sandwich came out cold but the bartender quickly fixed the situation and was so sweet about it. I will say, even cold, it was freaking delicious. The only reason I didn't give the place 5 stars was the kitchen seems consistently backed up.

Awesome calamari , great fried green tomatoes , dinner was average. Crab cake was a huge disappointment, I didn't even eat it, had a funky taste. Would go back to sit at bar and order appetizers but I would skip the dinner next time.

We wanted some good fried, fresh seafood for dinner tonight and this place turned out to be exactly what we were looking for. The seafood was excellent, especially the calamari and the shrimp. Great fresh cut fries and delicious slaw. The only criticism would be that the interior of this place could use little decoration.

This place is actually really good. I was so shocked when we ate here because I'm a local, and you find very few good places on River Street. I've been here four times and every time the food has been solid and delicious. The only thing that fell bland was the calamari. The salads are awesome, the jambalaya is the bomb, and the seafood platter is huge. Def worth a visit for a good broad menu to fit your crew.

We took a chance here after receiving a glowing recommendation. Having been only open about a month, sometimes the service and food is spotty but NOT here! The location, which appears to have undergone a substantial renovation, has a huge fully stocked bar area on one side with easy access to any sports games. This area also includes booths and seating if you prefer the bar-side. The other side of the restaurant is more traditional table and booth seating and is much quieter. There also is an expansive upstairs dining area. For openers, our waiter Jacob promptly appeared and we had beverages in no time flat. We tried the fried gator tail - yum yum - cooked perfectly! For the mains we had the Pan Seared Scallops, a Ribeye and Calamari (an appetizer) which was prepared like none other I've ever had. First, instead of the normal rings, the calamari was shaved / grated into thin strips and then perfectly cooked - not chewy at all! Mixed in were real bits of crispy bacon, green onions and red peppers which added really nice flavors! It was absolutely delicious and the portion side was certainly meant to be shared or it could be a single main dish! I decided to stay the ranch dressing on the side and I'm glad I did. While most enjoy those creamy sauces, I prefer the horseradish tomato blends so that's a suggestion for this dish - offer that as an option but otherwise, this one is a big winner in my book! The Pan Seared Scallops were also perfectly cooked - just lightly seared and so moist inside - before the end of the meal they had me wishing I'd gotten those! These were served with a nice choice of a steamed vegatable on the side! The rib-eye and mashed potatoes were also quickly devoured and I think I heard "it was very good" from my mumbling teenager - quite a feat! As others have mentioned, there's something on this menu for everyone and all at varying prices. The salads looked wonderful and there were many other tempting dishes which I'll try on my next visit to the area. Now before I forget the beer selection is the best I've seen in a long long time! The entire back menu is covered with listings so if you cannot find some brew here to make you happy, you may be making it yourself. And lastly, the service. Our waiter Jacob was exceptional! He was prompt to the table for orders, kept out glasses filled, checked back with us many times on the dishes - how they were prepared, etc. He was engaging and familiar with menu options. He helped us make excellent choices and was able to engage our mumbling teenager on how good his steak was - kudos! Overall, a wonderful dinner. Recommended.

Came here today... they have a diverse selection of beers, i think he said over 200. We got a flight of beers where u get 4 draft samples for $10. We also got a crab cake sandwich and the grouper dinner. Both were yummy but the grouper was absolutely delish! Like the ultimate fish and chips :) Fresh cut french fries are the best!! Paul our server was funny and very attentive... great guy - he made our experience memorable. I highly recommend this new place. Very chill, good, and worth the $$ for sure.

My husband and I were walking around river street while waiting for our hotel room, then we stumbled along Barracuda Bobs Bar and Grill. The restaurants atmosphere was very comfortable and welcoming. Our server mentioned that they had just opened 3 weeks ago and it seems that they are doing pretty well. You must try their clam and corn chowder. It was so delicious, the hint of spiciness made it even better. I kinda wish i had ordered a bowl instead of a cup. I also had the shrimp lettuce wrap, the flavors were delicious as well, but wished they had chopped the shrimp into smaller pieces so it would be easier to wrap. I would definitely go back one more time before heading home to Hawaii. The food, service (sorry I forgot our server's name), and atmosphere was wonderful, so why not!!

  • Merritt C.

Great find on River St!! Nice atmosphere, friendly and prompt service, and fabulous food. We had gator tail, which was done perfectly, the tuna tacos (amazing), and surf and turf, also very good. If strolling down Rivers looking for something better and cleaner than all bar food options, but still want the fun atmosphere, definitely try this place!! Would absolutely go back. Prices are reasonable for a tourist area and they also have a great beer selection.

  • Ross D.

I would not recommend. I got the low country boil. The shrimp were extremely overcooked. The potatoes were almost raw. The best part was the corn, which was perfect. My fiancé had the mixed grill, which was mostly OK. The drinks were too sweet and the bartender was a pretentious fool. I will not return and you should not give this tourist trap a chance.

Reasonably priced seafood that is made simple and well. Nice service. One drawback of the restaurant is the lack of water view seating even though it is by the river.

This place is fantastic. My wife and I were set to eat at Boarshead when we walked by this place and read the menu. We re so glad we did. The corn chowder was fantastic as well a the shrimp low boil and crab au gratin. Truly amazing.

Walked in off of the street on a busy Saturday night and was seated right away. Great server (Paul) took excellent care of us and the food was delicious. Great presentations and flavor. Good value for the money, in an historic beautifully renovated location. Another location to add to Bob Turner's restaurant kingdom and equally as well done as the others.

I recently visited Barracuda Bob's and enjoyed it. The restaurant was recommended by one of those time-share sales people. I wouldn't recommend going to one of those time share events (I didn't anyway) but this restaurant is pretty good. It was perfect for me for the time being, it was late, I was hungry and it has good food. It's on the touristy strip of River Street so it's not the first restaurant I would ever go to. What I did really like was the variety of food which was available. I had a mahi-mahi po' boy and alligator as an appetizer. The Mahi-Mahi po'boy was delicious, I just wish it was a little bigger. The cocktails were also very good, I was happy to see that they served a Moscow mule in the traditional copper mug. Overall I did enjoy my experience at Barracuda Bob's.

Great service, great food. Large beer selection and awesome white sangria. Had the New York strip and it was prepared perfectly medium. The gator tail appetizer was good too!!

My friend and I loved this place. The waitress was very friendly and prompt plus she had tons of patients for two people who just can't decide. The standout of the night for us was the Pimento Cheese with spicy green tomato marmalade, it's a must try. The typical wedge salad was made amazing with the addition of candied pecans and the Tuna Tartare app was generous and refreshing. This best thing about this place was the affordability. If I'm ever in Savannah again I will head here first.

Great food. Great drinks. Great service. If you eat/drink at the bar, I hope Sara is your bartender. Funny, efficient, and makes a GREAT Bloody Mary! The food is low country inspired with a big city sensibility.

Outstanding food overall with excellent service. Homemade sauces enhance every dish - shrimp salad is phenomenal, servings are generous on sides and desserts. Challah bread pudding is a must-try for dessert. Moderate price for the River St area - there are options that fit most budgets.

Didn't love this place. We got our appetizer, salad and entree before our waitress came to the table to check if everything was ok... Which it wasn't, because we never got our drinks! My friend got the meatloaf and it was sooooooo salty. Another got the crab and shrimp au gratin, she said it was ooookkkk and the third had a seafood trio which was also oooookkk. I had the tuna tacos, the meat was plentiful which I liked, but, again, salty. It just wasn't good. Maybe a decent stop if you are on river street and need a burger for lunch or something, but otherwise I would not reco.

Pretty tasty! The food was good- the only complaint is that my husband got a seafood platter and there really wasn't much food on it. We laughed and counted his French fries... There were only 16 on his plate. The quality of the food was great, though. They have an expansive beer selection and a large menu to cater to any type of food you may want. We would visit again.

We were looking for some tasty seafood in Savannah, but we were disappointed with Barracuda Bob's. First, the service was very slow. We were in the restaurant for over two hours. We had a party of 6 and had to wait approximately 20-30 min for a table. Then, we waited for 20-30 more minutes before receiving our drinks. Our waiter took our drink order, but passed by the table 4 times stating that our drinks were on the way. However, he would easily get distracted and forget to bring our drinks. Finally, we received our drinks and placed our food order. After approximately 20 minutes, he returned stating that they were out of the special, and I would have to choose a new entrée. I was disappointed, but I chose something else. Then, it was probably 20 more minutes before we received our food. The waiter would promise he was going to check on the food, and then we would see him sitting at other tables taking orders and chatting with the other customers. Finally, we received our food, but most of our dishes were lukewarm. Most of the people in my party enjoyed their food (Ribeye steak, Shrimp & Grits, etc.), but I was not impressed with the Mahi Po'boy (especially since I had already set my mind on the Parmesan Grouper that the waiter recommended as the special but no longer had available). When the waiter asked if I liked my food, I told him that I did not, but we still had to pay full price. Needless to say, we still had to wait a long time for our check as well. Overall, the food was okay and the waiter was knowledgeable and gregarious, but I would not recommend this restaurant unless you are not very hungry and are prepared to wait a long time.

Wow. Great place. The beer selection was great. Service was super. We had a 15 minute or so wait on a Thursday night. Gumbo, shrimp and grits and jambalaya were stellar. Left with a doggie bag.

I tried the calamari here after reading so many positive reviews of it on here, and I'm glad I did! The calamari is shaved and lightly fried, and topped with bacon, and a ranch sauce and was absolutely amazing. For entrees I had the fried combo of shrimp and oysters, which came with fries and a scoop of coleslaw. It was good, but not worth $20 since there were only about 4 shrimp and 4 oysters. My boyfriend got the pimento cheese burger which was a huge burger topped with pimento cheese (and bacon I think?) and came with fries. His was only $10 and was more appropriately priced. There isn't the best selection of beer on tap, a lot of it was the regular Bud Light type of stuff, but they did have one of the Moon River beers on tap, and the Sam Adams seasonal beer. Would go back, but not before trying other places first.

This place defied expectations. It looks like a tourist trap, but the waiter knows the menu inside and out. .. described the sauces and how things were cooked. Fresh shrimp for an appetizer with Ole bay...great recommendation. Spot on. My tuna burger was different. ..it had hint of blue cheese, was blackened, served medium. The kids liked theirs too. My wife had fish tacos and loved them. Wouldn't expect this quality for an inexpensive meal.

Barracuda Bob's is ridiculously good. My wife and I, along with her parents, had lunch here during a visit to Savannah. We all had the gator gumbo soup for appetizers and were blown away. Our main courses varied, but all were outstanding. The service was exceptional. We had to talk ourselves out of having dinner here since we wanted to try another restaurant nearby. We later agreed that we should've returned to Barracuda Bob's. I can't think of anything they could have done better.

I stopped in here on a whim this past weekend, as it had started raining a bit while we were wondering around River Street. We had reservations at the Olde Pink House at 8pm, and had some time to kill, plus I was looking for a little snack. I could not be more happy with what we stumbled into. The staff was SUPER nice, and the Pimento Cheese dip was one of the best things I've ever had. Good beer selection as well. When it was time for us to head over to the Olde Pink House the gentleman working at the door busted his butt to find us a Taxi since it was still raining. I will definitely be returning here.

Based upon the name, we were expecting a sports bar with so-so food. We were hungry, and after checking Yelp decided to give it a shot. What a wonderful surprise! Super clean, above average, consistent food, and friendly service.

Really good bar service, staff was very attentative, calamari was interesting, in a good way, gator gumbo was a little bit on the tamato side but good on a cool night. The andouille sausage meat loaf was a home run. Great taste, huge portion. Manger recommended and he was not playin. Outstanding, great job

The disgustingly unnecessary attitude of the hostess (skyler) and boring menu turned me off completely. I left before the waiter even came to the table. I've never had such a bad taste in my mouth before even eating the food.

Great Food , fairly priced , service and atmosphere was excellent , was with a large group and ordered a wide variety of appetizers and main course meals and no complaints from anyone . Great dining experience ... Would definitely return!!!

Get the fried gator tail as an app...very tasty. Service was good and the food came out quickly. I can see how this place may be crowded on the weekends, but it's only due to the river location and relatively good prices. Try the tuna burger (rare, of course) or the extensive beer list. TV's for sports too!

Stopped in here for a few drinks while pub/bar crawling thru the riverside area while staying in Savannah, and I'm really sad that I wasn't hungry because everything looked and smelled fabulous. I think La Chica and I seriously considered running off to the restroom and "purging" our lunch in a gross attempt at forcing hunger on our poor, overfed bellies. But after a few minutes of drinking their homemade sangria, we decided we'd hold on to our previous meals and settle for our drinks. Meanwhile, the sangria was fantastic. Not many places will whip it up right in front of you. So glad we stopped in to sample it. We enjoyed the free smells and friendly bartenders as well!

Avoid at all costs! We came here cause reviews were quite good and rate is high with average cost. Oh, how wrong we were. This is typical touristic place where nobody cares about taste of dishes and service. We had crab soup - was over salted, second dish crabs and shrimps with mashed potato - not salted and seems made from dry potato staff. And all this "pleasure" was for 58 $.

  • Rob B.

We came in on Saturday night 20 min before close and there is 14+ people standing around where the hostess should be. Everyone is wondering the same thing. Is this place open and serving? Don't ask the bartender. She says she doesn't know. Not does she know where the hostess went. Another 6 people walk in. Part of the 14 were seated. We left. Skip this place unless your on spring break. It's a joke. Not a place that takes service seriously.

Very good seafood in fun bar and grill atmosphere. Very nice waitstaff. I had grouper and wife had scallops and both were perfectly prepared. Decent beer and wine selection. We both thought the food was a cut above what you'd find in most bars/taverns.

  • j h.

Went there because it was decently rated. Regretted it for the food only (service was great). Fried green tomatoes had decent flavor, but the batter was too dense and portion was small for the price. Shrimp boil: low on flavor (had to ask for old bay), low on number of shrimp, but at least they were fresh, also cole slaw had no flavor. Blackened tuna was overcooked and blah. We tried to order only what we saw was recommended on Yelp, but were still disappointed. With so many good choices in Savannah, we wished we hadn't wasted a meal here.

  • Tom P.

I didn't have very high expectations for this place... It's down on River Street, which just screams "cheap and touristey" and this restaurant gives all indication that it's a dingy sports bar, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of both their cocktails and their food. I had their famous shrimp and grits which was very tasty and an ample portion. Rated 4/5 because I asked for ice water, and it was probably the worst-tasting water I've had in Savannah. Time for a Brita filter, guys.

The corn and crabmeat bisque was wonderful but my fried oyster, scallop, shrimp entree left something to be desired. The scallops were too salty for my taste, not enough oysters. The shrimp was ok and all layered on top of french fries that were just ok. Had a draft dark beer that was really small. Over priced for what I received in my opinion.

First time in town yesterday and found Bob's along River Walk. The menu looked great so we stopped in for lunch and were completely blown away with the ambiance and food, but most of all our waitress was a true Georgia Peach!! So friendly and sweet plus she went out of her way to make recommendations of other things to check out here in town. I can't wait until the next trip down here to go back.

We had a party of four and were in Tybee and were Yelping places to eat for dinner. Now, we already had a place in mind (Stingray's) but we had a hankering for one item in particular--fried gator, and sadly Stingray's didn't offer that on their menu. So, I did a quick Google search and this place popped up. Well sadly, we were all disappointed. I agree that the name is misleading--it is in no way a bar and grill, but an overpriced sit down restaurant with a bar (think Ruby Tuesday). Service: 3/5 She was good, but when we asked for more sauce for the fried alligator, she brought out blue cheese (which was not the same sauce on the plate with the gator). When she was clearing plate from our table, the knocked some silverware off the table, which is no big deal, but she never brought out more, even after she said she was going to come right back with some. Oh well, luckily my friend had a sandwich and didn't need them. Food: 2/5 This is where it gets tricky. I toyed with giving them a 2 or a 3, but ultimately gave them a 2 after today. Why? I ordered chicken fettuccine for my entree (yeah, yeah, stuck to something safe) and while it was only "okay" in the restaurant, it tasted great after it had been sitting in my refrigerator two days...that to me says it wasn't great to begin with if I only enjoyed it after it became my leftover and had marinaded in grease; I also added salt, pepper and seasoning to it and the broccoli was also overcooked and mushy. My friend and fiancee enjoyed the swordfish steak, but it was a hefty $22 price tag attached for a piece of fish the size of my hand and a 1/2 cup of potatoes. We have an Italian restaurant here in town with a swordfish entree, but not nearly that expensive, and we're in the middle of the state! Moving on, if you order a sandwich, it'll only be half a sandwich with some fries for about $12 or so. Our appetizers were the best part of the meal. We had fried alligator and jack daniels wings. Overall, it just wasn't worth it to us for the price and sub par food. The bill between my fiancee and myself was $67 and the other two in our group came to $53. If you come here, I highly suggest just sticking to the appetizers and skipping the meal. As one Yelper said "it it what it is, a bar with food." If you want great seafood, trek to Tybee Island and try one of the smaller, off the beaten path, local places instead of a tourist trap.

Tried to come back again for my birthday a year latter hoping they changed their practice of not taking reservations. This was not the case so we went to another restaurant (jazzed) instead. I enjoyed the food and wait staff so much I decided to come back for date night with the fiancé the next weekend. My fiancé got a mushroom and Swiss burger. It was average nothing to rave about but it was cooked correctly. I has the grilled salmon fettuccine and it was delicious. The asparagus were cooked right and the salmon really set off the sauce. It was very rich and I could not eat the entire dish... But that's a ok with me because I have leftovers. I still give this place 4 out of 5 stars because they don't take reservations. It makes it difficult if you're trying to plan your night and involve other people. You don't want to pick a restaurant and invite your friends and then arrive and be told there is a long wait... It messes up the evening. I feel like it also puts a burden on the host and wait staff if a large party arrives unannounced.

We were driving through Savannah heading to Florida and stopped in River Street for late dinner and this was one of the few places open. It looks like a huge sports bar. It is very clean. The menu was very extensive and had everything for everyone. I was excited to see buffalo wings on the menu. They were okay, not great. My kids ordered the fettuccini alfredo and they were very happy with it. My husband ordered the grilled salmon served on pasta covered in creamy red sauce. The pasta was really good but kind of heavy, but the salmon was not that good. I asked the waiter to recommend what's most popular, he recommended some kind of boiled seafood medley. The problem is that it was too plain and didn't even come with any sauces for dipping. I asked for slices of lemon. I wished I had ordered something more cajun.

I just loved the place .Stopped in for a cold one and stayed for lunch. Matt Wilhide was my server. He was very knowledgeable about the menu. He suggested the fried green tomatoes and the shrimp and grits. Everything was great. I thought Matt was a great guy. He was the best server I had while in Savannah.

Great seafood place right on the river. I ordered the fish & chips special and a flight of four 5 oz beers. Food was great, beer selection was great, service was great. They have booths and bar seating.

This place is totally overrated. We were a group of 4 people and our meals were only average. The prices are way too high for the type of food they serve. Also the service was pushy. They have a wide selection of beer though.

The iceberg wedge tasted good to my husband but a little different to me. I am new to this type of salad though. The grouper fish, and the shrimp and grits are delicious.

A pleasant surprise. Everything we ordered was delicious. The crab & corn chowder was excellent, spicy, but oh so good. The wings were great. The pepper jack cheese fries & the alligator bites started the meal, my husband ordered parmesan crusted grouper was great too. I will absolutely return & recommend this place.

I had the house salad with homemade ranch dressing and today I am craving it. Good sign! I also had their crab and corn chowder it was tasty but a little salty. My hubby had the tuna tacos and he was not impressed with the seasoning. Again, to much salt. Need more flavor and less salt. Go for the house salad!!

Great food and ambience. Quite a relief from the muggy temperature of Savannah. Definitely try the pulled pork and rueben. They are tremendous.

The name is a little misleading---I didn't expect it to be as nice as it was inside. Our party started off with an appetizer of alligator tail, which we enjoyed. The sauce that went with it meshed well. My salad was pretty standard, though I did not care for the croutons. My sister got the shrimp (which she said were delicious) and the dude got a type of steak sandwich, which he also said was good. Pretty decent drink selection. My only issue was with the service---the waitress was pleasant but she was the ONLY waitress in our area and she was running between every table. It would take awhile to get things or she would forget because the restaurant was packed and she was tending to her area alone, so I don't blame her at all.

We went down to River Street and parked in the parking lot (free) not too far from Barracuda Bob's Bar and Grill. We walked down the street and walked in. We had a ten minute wait. After the wait we were seated, we had a waitress that was not too attentive. She seemed to be scattered as if she had too many tables to wait. We had to ask for a couple items more than once. She did assist us with questions about the menu and made suggestions. We ordered our food and ate it. The food was good. Nice location!

What a great place! Crab dip and fried green tomatoes were yummy. The seafood trio was amazing and service was on point! Our waitress Kaitlyn was so fun and engaging. Will definately come again when in the savannah area.

Food wasn't bad tasting but everything was sooo heavy. The entire meal was floating in grease. The deep fried appetizers were dripping in oil. It was just too much. The service was a little hit and miss. Going from overly attentive to missing in action and back again. I think the menu is convoluted and too large. This actually seemed like one of the better choices on the boardwalk. For better meals go up top to Bay St.

Best meal I had in Savannah while here for the weekend - by far. Not only does this place have excellent food (you absolutely MUST get the tuna tartare appetizer), you also get some awesome service as well. I was really astounded by how gracious the staff was at accommodating our 12-person bachelorette group at 9:30 on a Saturday night. They pushed tables together and we were all seated together within about 5 minutes of arriving. We also had the pleasure of being served by JoAnn, and she was incredible! I always feel bad when amongst a large group like this, but she and the rest of the servers handled our group amazingly well - we received the same service that I'm sure I would have with just one date! Also, this place has great ambiance. It's not too loud, it's not too modern, and it's just a cozy and inviting place. The beer selection is outstanding, as is their menu. It's such a versatile atmosphere - even though I was with 11 other rambunctious girls, I imagine this would be a great date spot also! Extensive menu including some southern staples and superior seafood selections. Some notable dishes that were had by our group: - Tuna tartare (mentioned above, worth mentioning again - crispy house-made chips and perfectly seasoned tuna!) - Shrimp and grits - Grilled seafood trio - Parmesan-crusted grouper Thanks again for a great experience, JoAnn and the rest!

Was on river street to kill some time today with my dog, which limited the options for where we could eat. We had eaten at barracuda bobs a little over a year ago and decided to go again because they have some outdoor seating on street level. Asked for some water for my dog because it was hot and we had been walking around after finally finding a parking spot. I was really just expecting some water in a to go cup for him but the waitress brought out an actual little doggy bowl with ice cold water for him with another bowl of treats! I was extremely impressed with their dog friendliness! Our food was great as well! We had the wedge salad, chef salad, and the Cuban. All were excellent. Service was a little slow but we were the only people outside and not in a huge hurry so no worries there. Five stars for great food and awesome dog supplies at no extra cost.

Was in Savannah for a wedding and our valet man recommend this place for some great seafood and he was right! Food was great from the Alaskan crab legs to the seafood jambalaya! Great atmosphere and even better service! It's a little on the high side for price but worth it!

We were passing through Savannah and decided to stop off in the historic area for the evening. After seeing a few recipes in for crab cakes in the some of the little shops on the Market Square the fiance was craving some. Hey we are from Maryland, crab cakes are a religion there. Anyway, a quick check on yelp for crab cakes landed us at Barracuda Bob's. Despite the crowd outside, inside there was plenty of available seating. So there was no wait to be seated. Our server quickly came to our table, explained the menu and got our drink orders. While we didn't partake of anything from the bar, there was over 100 options for beer, around 30 for wine and plenty of mixed drinks. The server also offered us a drink as we were leaving, since Savannah permits open carry in the Riverfront area. We split the crab dip which was creamy and had a good amount of backfin meat in it. He had the seafood trio. He is a man who usually is picky and will always leave something on his plate or force it onto mine. Not so at Bob's. He cleaned the plate he enjoyed it so much. I had the Cajun Pasta. I found it delicious and there were definitely lots of scallops and shrimp. It was very filling. Barracuda Bob's does lose a star for not having a lot of local seafood options on its menu. We heard another table ask and the server said most of it is brought in fresh from other areas of the country, but that the clams were from Georgia.

Have you ever read a review & said to yourself they've gotta be lying ? Well that was the case when it came to the reviews at this place however I was flat wrong . After a friend of mine from Atlanta stop by this place ( shoutout Mary ) yeah it took a friend who's not even from here to get me to stop in. This place has something for everyone and as so many others have said the shrimp & grits were the best I ever had. Their sandwiches were incredible and the service was so good. The only downside was their prices are a bit out of line for the type of food that they serve. All & all we'll be back but it wouldn't be on my regular rotation of restaurants.

Nice view by the water. Pretty good options on the menu though much of it was fried. I can't complain too much coming from a landlocked state. They had a huge table or two and could immediately seat our large party. Friendly service and my first experience eating gator tail! Very tasty and prepared in such a way that everyone could try some and it wasn't too much. It was like decent bar food.

Good atmosphere. Baby friendly. Big screen TVs. Full bar. Fresh shrimp. Blackened Tuna: Tasty but salty. Good to share in groups so you don't have to eat a lot of it. There were 7 pieces. Beer Flight: Great way to try variety. Generous pours. Comes on a fish shaped platter. It's fun. Shrimp & Grits: Buttery and savory. It's not overwhelming. One of my favorite shrimp & grits dishes I've had. Jambalaya Pasta: It was comforting and flavorful. I added shrimp to mine. I would have liked mushrooms in them. Shrimp Salad Sandwich: I didn't taste it but mother in law enjoyed it. It's most I've seen her eat in couple of days. She said it had ample shrimp in it and little spicy.

Food was amazing!!!! The service was fabulous! We came as a group of four on a Saturday night at 10pm. We weren't rushed or anything, even though they closed at 11. Ashley was a great server and attended to our every need. I had the seafood trio and it was excellent. Very flavorful and quickly prepared. We will definitely comeback. This place was recommended by our taxi driver. Will return!

I was in Savannah for the weekend and was wandering around the tourist area on River Street looking for a place to eat lunch. There were a lot of choices and it was hard to make a decision. I ended up choosing Barracuda Bobs because of the high Yelp rating and after glancing inside the bar area looked friendly and inviting. Barracuda Bobs was a great choice for lunch. The bar area is great to sit in, have some drafts, watch games, and have lunch. They have a decent selection of draft beers and the televisions were easy to view from the bar seats. The food I ordered was outstanding. I had their pulled pork sandwich and it was prepared just the way I like it. I don't like a lot of sauce overwhelming the pork, and they had just the right amount of sauce and flavoring. The pork was very tender and had just the right amount of smoking and flavoring for me. One thing to note was that it was slightly cold -- normally I would have expected a hot sandwich -- but I think overall that helped with the taste. The bun was fresh and the bread high quality. There was a choice of sides and the cole slaw seemed fresh and not a commercially packaged variety. It was not overly creamy or sweet, which is just as I like it. The only problem was the portions overall were a little on the small side, so if you have a big appetite you might need a little more. I was really pleased with the service at the bar. I really recommend trying this place.

Great restaurant with a nice atmosphere. I really enjoyed my meal. I had the scallops which I really enjoyed. My friend tried the gator bites, which he liked more than expected. Our waitress was really nice and made great menu recommendations. I will definately go back in the future!

I ordered pecan crusted trout. They brought plain trout and I didn't have time to get my order corrected. It was a misunderstanding however I am giving a low rating because the fish was over cooked and the sides weren't good. I knew I wasn't going to be over excited with mash potatoes and veggies but to overcook fish with no flavor and to five extremely bland sides for the price was not a four star restaurant in my opinion.

    (2)
  • Mark O.

Can only speak for my experience. I had the Parmesan grouper with mashed potatoes. The grouper was pan seared perfectly and the lump crab meat was just right. My wife had pecan crusted trout and she liked. It was a bit on the cedar side and sweet but, if you're into that sort of thing it was very well prepared. The drinks were quality. The waitress kept an eye on us and we have no complaints whatsoever. Atmosphere was good also. It is a bar and restaurant and their selection of craft beers looked to be on point. Well done!

Loved this place! The atmosphere is fantastic. It is very bright and open and clean but still has the old world charm. The food was fantastic! Definitely the best I had while we were here in Savannah. The blackened tuna bites as an appetizer was phenomenal! As was the Key Lime Cheesecake. Our waitress and bartender were extremely nice and provided us with great service as well. Will definitely be coming back!

This spot was a huge disappointment. Kind of a shock given the good Yelp reviews. What's up with that guys? Visiting savannah this weekend we were looking for a place in a fun location, walking distance from the Hyatt. Barracudas is on River Street which is a touristy, busy, entertaining, touristy. We started dinner with a yummy Moscow Mule and "Savannah Christmas". So far so good. Gator tail appetizer was a different story. I love gator, and these salty little morsels were distressingly inedible. Sad times. Entrees were blackened tuna tacos and the grilled seafood trio, respectively. The tacos suffered from the same salt struggles as the apps, and we had to cut off the heavily blackened side to eat them. The trio (crab cake, 2 scallops, and 4 shrimp) with mashed potatoes and asparagus was alright - Except for all the pesky wax paper left in my crabcake for me to discover. That was where I drew the line between oh bummer crappy app and I'm pissed crappy dinner. Our server however was lovely and apologetic. The manager comped the app and half the one entree.

Walked into barracudas on a whim and I'm glad I did! Im from So. Cal and it's pretty hard to find some decent southern food so I ordered the shrimp po boy. Loved it! I'm probly not the best connoisseur on southern food but it was something good. The bartenders were both chill as well. Thanks for the hospitality to the visitor! When I'm back in GA, I'll def be coming back.

Stopped in around 3pm on a weekday, was not very busy at all. The shandy was really great, and I got the fried green tomato BLT at the servers recommendation. Sandwich was amazing, and service was great - Julia really impressed me. The fries that came with my meal were maybe the best fries I've had in years, perfectly cooked and seasoned. Further, this was exactly what i was looking for. A quiet place to sit down and eat. I'm a bit of a food hermit when eating alone in work trips, and really look for a quiet atmosphere with great food and service that doesn't force conversation; I definitely recommend this place.

Stopped In here with my wife and daughters for a late lunch today. It was a chilly day, and the interior exuded great warmth with the deep woods and exposed brick. The waitstaff was equally warm and welcoming...as well as efficient. We shared an order of chile cheese fries and all agreed...delish! The chile was clearly scratch made, with chunks of meat and kidney beans...not just a chile sauce that you might finds fled over a hot dog. The girls got bacon cheese burgers, my wife opting for a southern version with pimento cheese. The cheese was rich and creamy with a hint of spice...it perfectly complimented the burger, which was a perfectly cooked half pound of fresh ground goodness. Our waitress made a point of mentioning that the burgers contain no extra fillers, and you could tell this was excellent beef. I opted for a fried green tomato BLT. it featured a perfect portion of crisp bacon topped with nice thick slices of southern fried green tomatoes. Not too greasy and very tasty. The bar featured a great selection of local craft beers. I tried one of the local IPAs and it was sensational. A great casual dining experience with a warm atmosphere. I will be back.

First bad sign... The place was empty. Second, the waitress was not friendly and unprofessional. We ordered food and confirmed with waitress Kelsey M that the food was not spicy which she assured. Point blank food was spicy, we told her about it and she really didn't even care no apologies no form of helping us. To top it off a party of 6 she charged us a automatic 18% tip (another reason why she really didn't even try with providing good service) the final outcome is the manager on duty didn't even care either. I do not recommend at all this place due to the horrible experience we had. A first impression is the most important one and this was our first and last visit here.

The service was really good but the fish was really bland. The batter they fry the fish in was way over salty.

We had a private party for 33 people for my 90 year old MIL in their upstairs dining room. I cannot compliment Manager Will and the serving staff that worked our party enough. They all did an amazing job. All of our requests were made with smiles. Food was excellent, service was superb and the room was just cozy enough for what we needed. I would recommend this place to everyone. Prices were reasonable too. Dietary needs were met with no problem. Thank you Barracuda Bob's for a very enjoyable, stress free evening.

Blackened red snapper was really good, just a little salty in the seasoning. Sides were small portions which was totally fine since I was there for the fish. My wife had crab legs and they were good. Salt that they put in the corn on the cob should have been left off since it was to much for her. Not a bad value for a $20 meal.

We chose this place based off the yelp reviews & I'm glad we did! It looks a little dark from the outside, but when you walk in, it's absolutely gorgeous! It's clean & newly remodeled. The food was great! We had the pepper jack fries as an appetizer. Like nothing I've ever had...so good! I had the chef salad which tasted very fresh with the house ranch on the side. They were out of turkey so they subbed grilled chicken, which was even better for me! I recommend this salad. Our server, Tommie, was friendly, prompt, attentive, & helpful! Great waitress! I would return here on my next trip to town & highly recommend it.

My mom, son and myself went for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. The food was good... my mom ordered the black and blue burger and it was so good. I ordered the steak sandwich and it was alright. It had a funny aftertaste after each bite because it was pretty rare which I didn't know. It didn't say that on the menu. I don't particularly like rare but others who do would like it. The crab stuffed mushrooms were a bit of a rip off... 9 dollars for 5 small mushrooms. I hardly tasted the crab but it was still good. My only complaint was that the food took so long. So very painfully long and it wasn't even busy. The waitress was really kind and kept us updated so I didn't ding her on the tip. I don't live near savannah and there's so many other places to try so I most likely won't be back.

Bloody Mary and gator tail, cannot go wrong. Bartender was amazing, made excellent drinks, very friendly and helpful.

The mushroom crab bites looked good but tasted bland, same with the BBQ pork sandwich (remarkably dry). The fries were good though and the service was excellent. The restaurants has a fun atmosphere and our server was spunky. They were also very attentive to a friend's serious egg and tree nut allergies.

We decided to stop here for lunch before we went sightseeing for the afternoon. Since it was still only 11am it was not busy and we were seated right away at a table that allowed us to watch the boats come by River Street. We both got the crab and corn chowder and wow was it good. I'm craving it right now it was that good. I opted for a side salad which was simple but good. My boyfriend got the shrimp and grit which he enjoyed. I got a Bloody Mary with a "kick" and boy was it a kick! I couldn't finish it is was so spicy and I love spice but that was a bit much. We also got a Shandy craft beer which was good but different for a shandy. I would recommend this spot if you are on River Street looking for something simple and affordable.

Poor service; medium rare steak served raw; grouper not fresh; bland raw side vegetables; dirty used wet nap rolled up in towel served with crab legs; worst part is that server was so unattentive that we didn't have a chance to let her know what problems we had because she kept walking away so fast. There were 2 other tables in the place. Don't understand where all the good reviews came from. Best part of experience was crushed ice in drinks.

My boyfriend, my mom, and I came here after two Australian ladies recommended it at breakfast that morning. They raved about it. So we decided to check it out for lunch. We got two smokehouse burgers and a fried green tomato BLT. The burgers were fantastic as was the BLT. They make their fries fresh and salt them. We also got a Sangria they had special and it was great. All in all, a great experience and we will recommend this and most likely come back. Wish there was one near us!!

Man we loved this place! We originally got caught in the rain and the 3 of us ( myself, my wife and my daughter) we're just waiting out the storm. We meet the guy who was the host and he could not have been nicer. He recognized that my wife and I liked craft beers and pointed out they had several. We told him we were looking for seafood and he pointed out everything they had to offer. He was spot on on everything he promised, great beer selection, good food and reasonable prices. Not always the deal on the riverfront in Savannah. My wife and I had the blackened tuna tacos and our daughter had the salmon club ( without bacon) and everything was fabulous! We'd definitely go back and might do so before we leave.

Barracuda Bob's is a fairly new establishment on River Street. The space is very nice, and a step up over the many generic bars on this street. The décor is great inside, and the service is very friendly. They make any drink you can think of, and do a good job at it. They have an extensive menu of food, but we did not sample any yet.

    (3)
  • Joe U.

Not impressed this go around with service and food prep. Burgers were not cooked right and had to wave down server. They were not busy, many servers standing around talking at the bar. Sent burger back, my friend just ate his well done, he wanted medium. Mine was raw in the center, and I like all my meat well done. I will stick to seafood entrees next time.

  • Becca P.

I should have known better than to stop in here because every other place on River St. was busy but Barracuda Bob's was empty. But my husband and I decided that we wanted to try something new so we went against our better judgement. Service was fine. My Alfredo pasta dish was watery and bland. The broccoli was very over cooked and mushy. My husband got the NY Strip that 2/3 of it was pure fat. Definitely a waste for the price we paid. I would have given two stars but the hostess and food runner were incredibly friendly. So they really earned the 3rd star. Would we go back? No.

I got the grilled seafood trio. The shrimp and scallops were delicious. The crab cake was just ok. My hubby got the low country broil and enjoyed all of it. The cocktails were good.

Best shrimp n grits ever! great service and the bread pudding is out of this world! forgot to take pic of bread pudding, was too busy eating it :)

  • Mark H.

Very average. The shrimp and grits came cold the table. The waitress was very attentive and took the plate back but it came back microwaved. The shrimp became hard and gummy after the return trip. I will not go back to a restaurant that heats up their food with a microwave.

first off - I'm not sure how this place ever received such a high rating. made us question yelp for the first time, basically ever! giving three stars because of how friendly and great the bartender was! alligator gumbo - so salty my husband could barely stand to eat it. (he's too kind, so he did suffer through it) calamari - they serve "shaved" calamari, which was odd, but was just okay. they serve it on a boat of ranch dressing with tomatoes, corn and bacon, so it's not your typical calamari. just okay. crab dip - meh. again, just okay. it did have a lot of crab, which was nice. bottom line: would we go back, no. would we recommend it, also a no.

I love the pasta with Creole sauce. The waitress was nice. I sat next to a very friendly couple from Ohio. Dinner with a glass of Pinot Grigio. Cool! I'm gonna try the chicken wings and herb pimento stuff next time.

Amazing service, delicious food, great atmosphere. This restaurant was top notch. Our waitress was very nice and accommodating of our 11 month old & brought his food super quickly. When a drunk man came into the restaurant and began acting loud and cursing the manager quietly came over, calmed the man down and walked him out, swiftly taking care of what could have turned into a bad situation. My husband had the tuna burger, my son had the alfredo and I ate the Caesar salad with salmon. It was all wonderful. Perfect Mother's Day meal,

My wife and I gave this restaurant a try after reading the reviews on Yelp. I must say, amazing! We ordered the Gator Tail appetizer, tilapia and the great seafood trio (shrimp, scallops and crab cake). Everything came out perfect! The price was reasonable and the service was amazing. The manager was out and about checking on tables. The table next to us had a small issue (they were not satisfied how her scallops were cooked, wanted them overcooked), and the manager not only re-made her dish, but he also offered free desert and comped her meal. He was nothing but professional about the entire situation. We will return here next time we are in Savannah.

Everything my wife and I have had here was delicious. You have to try the gator tail and gumbo appetizers. The Tuna burger and tacos are so fresh, and much better (and cheaper) than anything we could've gotten back in DC. We've eaten here nearly every day during our trip to Savannah.

Located on the water, and a good place to eat when you are walking around. The Food was good, but not great. I felt my low county plate was overpriced and a bit under flavored. Everything else, was wonderful. Freindly staff.

Got the season trio and was a bit disappointed. A mediocre crab cake, two large scallops and 4 large shrimp for $25. A bit over priced.

Maybe not really a "must-go" place for some non- greasy eaters. Or, maybe my fault only going many greasy foods. I recommend mixing with some greens. We were too ambitious ordering many fried and cheesy (meant as it is, lots of cheese in it) foods such as Shrimp and Grits and Seafood Fried Platers. It was good at first bite, but went tired of eating single flavors. Maybe, I have expected too much for the taste from the reviews here. But I can't say that the food was really good, not just because of my bad choices. The food itself was fresh but it required more complexed flavors. The service- our waitress was not bad. Actually she was really nice, very proactive and flexible.

Such a good dining experience! Right by the water and the service was great. The fried green tomato BLT with cheese instead of tomatoes was delicious as a vegetarian option. And Josa gave us an amazingly kind and friendly greeting! really good dining experience would recommend to anyone.

Followed others good reviews to this place on the water for dinner. Not impressed... The server was friendly and personable, but not very attentive. The crab dip appetizer was average and not very crabby. My wife had fish tacos that lacked flavor and we're bland. The accompanying fresh fries looked promising, but were room temperature. We would have had them replaced, but our server did not check in for quite some time after the meals arrived. We wete too hingry to wait... The scallops and shrimp I got were good. The crab cake was average at best. Again, not much crab and not much flavor. Over all, we were greatly underwhelmed by the experience...

Had good meal with the family tonight. Wife and mother got the mixed seafood grill dish. Scallops were great. Fried green tomatoes were yummy. Crab cakes were just ok. We asked for a remoulade sauce and they indicated they only had a Tabasco aioli sauce. We tried that and it was basically mayo mixed with Tabasco. Not great. I had the crab and corn chowder and it was delicious, but then my shrimp jambalaya was just ok. Service was very good. Place was dead...but it was a Tuesday night and the weather was crappy.

Food is amazing here. Shrimp and grits had so much flavor. Also had a thin Ribeye which I am not used to but it was delish as well. Just stop in and try the food, you will not regret it.

We came to River St looking for a good place to eat in a bar setting. We found the best at Barracuda Bobs! Service at the bar was quick with our drinks while we waited 20 mins for a table...quite a feat since they were so busy on this Saturday night! Our waitress checked in with us right away and gave us menus and waters. She was back minutes later to take our order. We started with the crab dip served piping hot and delicious with warm pita triangles...I highly recommend it! Another round of beers and our main course arrived. I had the low country boil and my husband got the House Burger. The low country boil had a LOT of shrimp perfectly seasoned and 3 hunks of delicious sausage. Potatoes were perfectly cooked and overall the dish was delicious! Served coleslaw alongside and my husband scarfed that down! His burger looked amazing and huge! Thick slices of bacon and a hearty slice of cheddar and bbq sauce on the side (which he requested). A massive pile of fries were yummy with bbq and ketchup dip! Overall a most EXCELLENT meal!!! My only complaint would be to shut the front door as cigar/cigarette smoke from the street made its way into the dining room!

  • Genesia D.

We were unsure of where to eat while walking the street. Yelped and found this restaurant. It was truly amazing. Exceeded our expectations in both atmosphere and food. My fiancé ordered the shrimp and crab Au gratin and RAVED about how delicious it was. I ordered the salmon BLT and was amazed at how moist and tender the fish was; perfectly cooked. There was a sweet smoky glaze over the fish that added just a little bit extra oomph. And the prices were beyond reasonable. We ate and had two three drinks for $48. Not bad at all. Check out Barracuda Bob's if you're ever on River St!

Don't come for the food! I suppose we came on an off night but our dinners were lackluster at best. Parmesan crusted grouper was cooked appropriately but had limited flavor. The cold broccoli had no seasoning, butter - nothing. The honey mustard Carolina red trout was terrible. I don't how you could have mustard on something and not taste it. We sent it back. The waiter insinuated it was me since he had never had that item sent back in 15 months. The manager came out and said she tried what we sent back and agreed that they had missed the mark. She was very pleasant and apologetic, and comped our food. That is honestly the only reason I am giving two stars.

A friend who visited Savannah a month ago recommended this place. He was right... It was delicious! We were looking for a light dinner so we ordered the house salads, which were huge, and split some apps. We chose the peel and eat shrimp and the blackened tuna bites. The tuna bites were delicious and the shrimp were out of this world!

Outstanding dinner! Would gamble to say the best seafood restaurant on River street. Many others are hawking for business but I suggest you pass them up for this spot if you want great value for excellent food and service. It's a casual atmosphere but very nice and after walking the city all day it was great to cool off with the coldest beer in town with an amazing selection. Paul was our waiter and very attentive and friendly. But the food was the best part. We started with the crab and corn chowder which was very tasty. Not as full of crab as we had at Crystal Beer Parlor (still holding as the best we've ever tasted- no corn or potato filler-just crab) but still quite delicious with a very nice kick to it. Instead of an entree we ordered starters and a salad so there was room for dessert. Great decision! We chose the wedge salad that had a perfect mix of pecans, bacon and Gorgonzola cheese. The peel and eat shrimp were done perfectly and dressed in a tasty Cajun sauce that was even better sopped up by the accompanying grilled baguette slices. The jumbo crab cake truly was jumbo and had little filler so it just melted like butter against our palates. The amazing finish to our meal was the best bread pudding I've had in years. Even my husband who can't comprehend a dessert that uses bread as an ingredient agreed it was amazing. I don't even want to think about the carbs and calories in that dessert because OMG it was so worth it! So yeah, we think this place deserves all 5 of the stars we gave them!

Skip this place. It is more of a tourist trap. Service is friendly, but everything came out wrong from the kitchen... Two mistakes on my dish, and one in my husband's. Also, there was water dripping above my husband. There are many nicer places. This is also not cheap. Not worth the money... The only reason I am keeping a second star because of the nice service.

We almost passed by this restaurant because we didn't think it was one. Definitely worth the stop for dinner. Try the Salmon Pasta, Cajun Seafood Tortellini, or Seafood Trio. All are phenomenal! Service and Bar are fast and very personable.

Six of us recently visited on a Saturday night during a visit to Savannah. The restaurant and bar were bustling but they were able to accommodate us after a brief wait. Our party ordered the crab dip and the fried gator as app's; both were served hot and both were very good. The crab dip had lots of crab and was served with pita wedges. The gator was lightly fried. Two in our party ordered a wedge salad which was a large portion and accompanied by a tasty dressing full of crumbled bacon. We waited quite a while for our entrees and it was evident where they had been when they finally arrived. The pimento burger was dry and not cooked to order. The grouper with crab had hardened under a heat lamp giving the once delicate fish a tough, dry exterior. The trio of crab cake, scallops and shrimp had also lingered at the pass; additionally, it was a meager portion for the price of well over $20. The fried shrimp Po-boy was perhaps the most disappointing dish of all particularly in an area of the country that is renowned for its shrimp. The baguette was the smallest Po-boy this writer has ever seen, no more than 4 inches in length. The seven shrimp were overcooked, tough and a weird brown color, as if the damage had been initially done in burnt oil and then further exacerbated under that same "deadly" heat lamp. The hand-cut fries that accompanied the "mini" Po-boy and burger were cold and limp. The sandwiches were served on small aluminum pans that slid around on the wooden table tops. The server was very apologetic, comp'ing the Po-boy even though we didn't ask him to. Obviously this place gets a lot of high marks based upon its average of over 4 stars. The appetizers lived up to that rating but the entrees failed. Despite the accommodating server, it would be difficult to say this place was a 3, "A-ok", thus probably a 2 and a half but the poor excuse for a Po-boy dropped it to a 2.

Love it when food is seasoned well & there's no need to add salt or pepper to food. My husband & I had the seafood trio which was great, very tasty and the Guinness wings which were the highlight of the meal.

Our first stop in Savannah for dinner. I love the atmosphere, and I wish we had time to spend at the bar, it is a great area, and was very full. We shared the Gator Gumbo and the Fried Green Tomatoes. The gumbo was not my favorite, but was liked but others in our party. This was our first taste of the fried green tomatoes, and they were delicious. The Shrimp and Grits was also a first timer and was loved by all of us. Our server was very informative, and our drinks, especially the Moscow Mules, were great! Being on the river is an added bonus, for walking and shopping before or just walking off a delicious meal after. I would definitely return!

Reasonably priced food. Service was below average but then again it was Friday night during river St seafood festival. Carolina red trout was tasty. Blackened red snapper was good too but mashed potatoes were too dry. Huge beer selection. I would recommend on a slower night.
