Only tried the sushi here and it was not good. The California rolls were pretty standard and tasted okay, but the specialty rolls tasted fishy and I ended up throwing them away. The restaurant was clean and had a nice enough atmosphere. May return if I want hibachi, but will pass on the sushi!

Good sushi experience for lunch. It was quiet, well priced lunch menu, service was excellent and sushi was very fresh. 25% off sushi! The friendly sushi chef was talking to us at the bar detailing the length of effort and money they spend on getting good fresh quality fish for their customers. I had the teriyaki sushi box with a side of salmon nigiri. Located behind Burger King.

I LOVE this place. My boyfriend and I visit Tokyo boat I and II very frequently. I recently had my birthday dinner here and staff was phenomenal! Being that I was the last customer which was a party of 9, you would think they would be pushy and rushing us out? But NO! They turned the speakers on, played a song for me and danced with us. Best time ever. I definitely recommend this place. We tipped the entire staff!

This place is reliable! We always end up ordering the hibachi, usually the filet mignon and chicken for me. I've tried their red snapper and thought it tasted like something else - maybe it was my taste buds? Our friends always order the sushi and I've never heard a complaint from them. One of our friends is somewhat difficult and the restaurant staff has always been very accommodating and made their best effort to please her. The portions are nice and large in my opinion- plenty to take home for the next day. Side note - They are open on Christmas... So if your family somehow messes up the whole Christmas meal Tokyo Boat II can save the day - As they did for us last year. Would recommend to others. Always enjoy eating there.

Mediocre food, reasonable price, poor service. Skip it. I had chicken teriyaki and soup to go for lunch. The place was practically empty yet my order was late by 10 minutes. The food was pretty poor... I threw out more than 1/2 of it.

Service was attentive. Food came out quick and had food flavor. They did not have the lunch special but had 45% off the dinner portion which was fine with me. The steak was a bit over cooked for medium but still had good flavor. The Orange Dream cocktail I ordered wasn't much of a dream and for $7 I would have expected it to be better. Overall though I was full and the food and service were good. I would return and recommend.

***Quick sushi bar review: stick to the sushi and tempura and you'll be fine. For god's sake, don't order the calamari. ***Longer version. Tokyo Boat II is your typical suburban Japanese restaurant that caters to the 'Muricans by dividing their place in half: half sushi bar, where you might find something like what folks eat in Japan, and half "hibachi," with dudes in big hats lighting things on fire and tossing shrimp tails through the air to the delight of screaming children and chuckling adults. If you ever see me in the hibachi half, I'm there because I've been kidnapped. Call 9-1-1. We tried the sushi bar part, and it was very mixed. The menu is very small compared to similar places in the area like Haiku and Sushi Mito. We ordered gyoza and tempura appetizers (very typical for us), and calamari (not so typical, but we were hungry, and the rest of the appetizer menu was frankly uninspiring). We also got a couple of rolls from the limited menu. More on that later. The gyoza and calamari came first. The gyoza tasted like they had come out of a freezer bag, but they were edible. The sauce that came with them was frankly bizarre, though. Never tasted that kind of sauce with gyoza before. Or with anything. The calamari was terrible. First of all, there were maybe 6 rings on the plate, all of which were clearly overcooked on sight. Very, very overcooked. The breading was falling off and the squid underneath was dark. Second, when we made the mistake of biting into a ring, it tasted very fishy. We sent the entire plate back, and they took it off our bill. At this point, I was ready to walk out and never come back, but then the tempura appetizer came out. Whoever is cooking their tempura knows their stuff. This may be the best tempura shrimp I've had in Atlanta. The veggies were decent, though the variety was not fantastic. Everything was very competently fried in an excellent batter. It's unfortunate that they don't take more advantage of the tempura cook's skills in the area of roll creation. Then the rolls arrived. The roll menu is confusing. Too many things are too similar to each other. There's very little creativity. But both rolls we had (the Birmingham roll and the Old Milton roll) were fantastic. The sushi chef knows what he's about. Again, some of the best I've had north of the perimeter. If only the menu were more flexible, I'd have given this place 4 stars. So, if you end up going to Tokyo Boat II, stick with the Sushi Menu, order some tempura, and stay away from the rest of the appetizer menu. I can't speak the rest of the entree menu. Oh, and by the way, gird your loins for some really strange service. It comes and goes, and then they crank up the volume on their sound system for very strange birthday celebrations on the hibachi side. Seriously. If I'm there, don't hesitate to call 9-1-1. Tactical units may need to be involved.

Excellent bento lunches. Choice of teriyaki, katsu or tempura. Nicely presented. Have had lunch and dinner here ( not the hibachi yet) and have been very pleased. Will make this a regular. Staff has been quite nice.

Great little gem that is close to a couple of hotels. I had the tempura shrimp, steak and shrimp hibachi. It was really good. Can't beat it at 45% off.

I enjoyed our sweet waitress, she was very kind and quick. We were super hungry and food arrived fast. Everything tasted fresh. The sushi was delicious, I loved Angel and Thanksgiving rolls so much. Tokyo Boat (both locations) makes the best sweet tea I've ever had.

Ordered hibachi grill. Way too salty, and the chefs performance was lacking, but it was extremely cheap so I can't quite complain.

The staff was really nice and prompt. The sushi was as good as any I've had in the area. I sampled about 30 pieces of sushi and the quality was good. The waitress had forgot to leave off the spicy mayo from one of our sushi rolls and when we tools her we got the corrected roll complimentary for the error, without is even asking she was on it immediately. I give it a mark down overall because of the inside it needs a little work to update some worn items to include the main sign above the sushi bar that had a big rip.
