While the meat in my tacos was a little overcooked and stringy, decent prices and a good selection make Mr. Taco a nice addition to Text-Mex dining options in Alpharetta. 1st star -- cleanliness. This isn't some Tex-Mex dive. The restaurant on a Saturday lunch was clean. There's a "fixin's" bar (e.g. limes, jalapenos, salsas, etc.) in the middle of the dining area that should be ground zero for messes, and it was spotless. 2nd star -- big menu. You think you're only going to have the standards like tacos, enchiladas, etc. with a name like Mr. Taco, but the menu is huge -- think La Parilla huge. There's the typical lunch special menu you find at a large menu Tex-Mex place -- mix and match all sorts of things like tacos, enchiladas, etc. They've also got appetizers, salads, and a la carte items. Separate sections for enchiladas, quesadillas and burritos as well. More expensive items are found in the specialties and seafood (including ceviche) portion of the menu -- from $9 - $22. What you won't find on the website is the tortas and tacos. They had several torta variations and about 10-12 different tacos. Tacos were a la carte and no more than $2.50. 3rd star -- prices. See above. My wife and I ordered a quesadilla plate and 3 tacos with drinks for less than $15. Portions were good (more on the flavors / food below), and I left feeling like I got my money's worth. Any higher price on the tacos, though, and I'd have reservations. 4th star -- OK food; emphasis on the heat. My wife ordered the steak fajita quesadilla. It came with rice, fixin's for the quesadilla and a decent sized quesadilla with strips of steak, cheese, and grilled onions / peppers. I ordered the pastor (pork), pollo (chicken) and carne asada (steak) tacos a la carte, no sides. My wife felt the quesadilla was OK. Too many peppers and not enough cheese. Rice was a little bland. The guacamole that came with the quesadilla was very good. My tacos were OK, albeit a little small. I spiced them up from the bar I mentioned earlier. There's all sorts of "fixin's" on the bar, including several salsas for chips, entrees, etc. Limes, onions, seasonings, jalapenos, etc. are also available. I liked the bar because they had all the items rated for heat. I tried a creamy green salsa and found that it had a latent kick. I tried a hotter salsa verde and almost did too much. The tomatillo red salsa just smelled hot -- I didn't bother. They also had what looked like chopped onions and habaneros, if you were feeling silly about the spice on your food. Lost 5th star -- tacos were disappointing. I think I'd have really liked the tacos more if a) the meat were juicier or b) there was more of it. A + B, and they'd be great. Mind you, they cost all of $6 too, so your mileage may vary. The meat was a bit dry and cut down way too much into little strips. The pork was marinated in a spicy red sauce. It had the best flavor. The chicken was bland and dry but had the biggest pieces. The steak was dried out and a little fatty. Finally, too much cilantro. It was chopped cilantro -- mebbe chopped earlier in the day during prep? I know it was chopped, because there were stems in the tacos which sorta took away from them. Final words -- give Mr. Taco a try. Their food has potential. I'd definitely give more of the tacos a try, along with the tortas. The prices are right. The staff was pleasant. I look forward to going back.

Best Mexican food in Atlanta. I've yet to come across another place that even comes close. What makes this place so good? Authenticity. It's all about the food and they don't seem to compromise their recipes, unlike so many other restaurants who cave into "dumbing down" their offerings in order to appeal to the wider market. For a few years after they first opened up, they were obviously a favorite of the Mexican crowd - as they appeared to make up the majority of the customer base - I know this because I lived around the corner (lucky me!) and would go several times a week and the place was always packed until late into the evening with Mexican/hispanic patrons. With that kind of customer base, they kept it awesomely and authentically targeted. The place always had the feel like they were a Mexican family owned spot that cooked great meals designed mainly for their compatriots who packed the place. Prices are very reasonable and they definitely don't skimp. They've got some great traditional dishes on the menu not found at other Mexican restaurants. Be adventurous and try something different. It's all good!

It took 45 minutes for the food to come out. Tacos were very greasy. Restaurant was not clean. Will not return.

This restaurant is tucked away behind a CVS and hard to find if you're not familiar with the area. I happened to see a teeny tiny sign after making a u-turn on Holcombe Bridge and finally found it after dealing with grueling 400 north traffic. It's not your typical Mexican joint ... the lighting is bright, a couple of flat screens broadcast soccer games, and the booths are tight for a group of four. Like another reviewer said, it's like a cafeteria. Their menu is huge and listed on the wall behind above the kitchen. You go up to the counter and place your order. My california burrito was pretty decent. I got the steak and some parts were a little chewy but all in all it was a pretty good burrito. I'm typically not a fan of corn tortillas (Yes, I prefer flour. Blasphemy!) but their corn tortilla was very light and subtle. The entire burrito and complimentary chips were very filling for very cheap. Chips were good and the guy clearing away our baskets was very good about asking if we wanted more. The salsa bar at the end of the restaurant is great; tons of endless salsa options. The only thing I would have preferred was black beans instead of refried beans in my burrito. I'm not sure if you can request black beans but it was not offered when I placed my order.

I love love love this place!! Yes it's in a little strip mall behind CVS and next to a dry cleaners...so what? The food is amazing and service is quick and always friendly. As you walk in (use the door to your right), the smells of the fresh salsa bar comes at ya in all directions! The Tlapeno soup, which comes with this fire red smokey pepper, is my all time favorite. Spritz it with a lime and a little pico and you are set. Other favorites include the carne and goat tacos. I literally come here once a week, I would come more but would turn into a gordita!! All they need is the cervezas license or a brown bag policy. PS -- This one beats the one in Alpharetta (and that location has the license). A go to must while in Roswell!

Cheap prices and awesome food is always a great combination!!! I like "hole in the wall" type joints and this is definitely one. Simple food and simple surroundings makes for a great atmosphere. I had tacos, and they were delightful. The corn tortillas were soft and had a nice flavor. The chorizo was spicy, the cabrito (goat) was full of flavor, and the sauces were all dynamite. the menu on the wall in Spanish could be seen as intimidating, but you can get English paper menus. Personally, I think this ads to the charm. If you want to be part of out "fast food society" where everything is quick and the same there is a Taco Bell close by, go there!

Mr. Taco is a great place for a cheap and authentic Mexican fix. I have been here several times and I've noticed that this is a popular place with Mexican people (always a good sign). They have a great salsa bar full of fresh salsas and condiments to pair with your food. Service is always fast, friendly, and accomodating. You order your food at the register and they will bring it to your table. Mr. Taco is great for take-out on those indecisive dinner nights. I have always found the food to be very fresh and well prepared.

We used to joke about CVS and taco runs when we would drive past the Mr. Taco on Holcomb Bridge, but no more! Tasty cuisine, though I found it a little on the bland side. I had taquitos and jalapeno queso. Overall we will try it again, though for us I think Chuy's is more our style.

  • Brett S.

First time here, I'd heard so much about the cheap authentic mexican tacos, that's all I ordered. Ordered a carne asada (steak), barbacoa (beef or goat) and chicken...all were delicious! Also tried out two of their sauces: 1 medium and 1 hot -- the hot was excellent, the medium was kind of boring (not too hot) and some nice pico de gallo. Will definitely be back more often and really interested in trying the molcajete -- looks phenomenal!! Also, the various drinks/mexican soda choices would be great during the hot summer months (e.g. mango, vanilla, hibiscus, etc.)...next time. Check this place out soon as it was jam-packed on a Saturday at 3:00 p.m. (dead time in most restaurants) and had 75% spanish speaking folks, but was very accommodating to those of us whom can only speak English. Very nice service and strong focus on being a very clean restaurant.

Don't let the appearance turn you off - if you like authentic, "homemade" Mexican food at a great price this is it (you'll spend about the same at Taco Bell just up the street, though I have no idea why anyone would). I have yet to have a bad experience other than once, which was more due to the popularity of the place and the fact it was completely slammed. That alone should tell you something. Excellent selection to choose from, and everything I've had has been delicious. Particularly a fan of the Carnitas plate, and the Tlalapeno soup is awesome on a cold day. The freshness of everything stands out, and the variety of choices on the salsa bar is outstanding. If you're considering Mexican, I have yet to find a better FOOD option in the area. If you're into bland Tex Mex, giant margaritas and phony atmosphere, go elsewhere.

  • Katie W.

I've been to this one, too. Compared to the Northpoint location, I feel like the food is pretty much the same (at least the chicken fajitas where) but the layout and decor is completely different. And this one is bigger. Same tasty food, great salsa, low prices, big portions. I like it. I can alternate between the two locations so that neither place thinks I go there too often.

This place ROCKS MY SOCKS!!! So you go in and at first you might thing that it's just an hole in the wall fluke that some taco powder generic Mexican is here. Then YOU SEE THE SALSA BAR this is better than Moe's and Chipotle put together. The best part is they have so many different meats to try, goat and tongue YUM. The salsa is so good along with the fresh toppings. They serve beer and margaritas here as well. Great place for kids and singles as well. Keep up the great work!!!!

  • Andrew G.

This place is ok. The prices are great and they actually deliver. The bad news is that the ground beef has no seasoning in it so it's very bland. If you are looking for something to fill your belly then this place will do it but if you are looking for flavor, this isn't the place. Better than Taco Bell but that's not saying much.

This place is pretty damn good. I got a tip from another yelper in the talk threads to try this out after complaining there wasn't real Mexican to be found in Roswell. I was definitely wrong. I was lucky enough to have just moved down the street from this Gem and didn't even know it. I had avoided it because the sign looks kind of tex mex or "whitesican" as we call it in my house. It was actually some of the best I've had since moving to ATL. We went in on Sunday and it was pretty full. Since it was my first time here, I ordered tacos. two carne asada and two al pastor. My wife got all carne asada. The carne asada came with grilled onions, fresh onions, and cilantro. They were great, just as good as any taco truck I'd eaten from. They have a fresh salsa bar with any kind of salsa you'd want. I go for the hottest selections and they did have quite a bite to them. The Al Pastor is pork if you didn't know, cooked in a sweet marinade. It's usually cooked with pineapple, but isn't served with it. I like it because when you put the hot salsa on your taco, you first get a little sweetness followed by a little burning. I was very happy with my food and washed it down with a Tamarind Jarrito's. Their other food looked great from what I saw at other tables. Their tortas looked very tempting and sopes especially. Nice flaky bread on the tortas. I will definitely be back. On our way out, we grabbed a menu and they deliver. We got so excited when we saw that since we live about a half mile away.

Have been going here regularly (at least once a week) for over 2 years now. Great truly authentic Mexican (not Tex-Mex) restaurant (too many people in ATL don't seem to know the difference). The "Molecatje" and mexican-style tacos are my favorites, as is the salsa bar. The choco-flan desert is my wife's favorite. Mr Taco also delivers, though that service's delivery timing can very tremendously. Recommend that anyone pick up their order instead.

Great meal, tacos, soup and beyond. Reminds me of some of the great taco trucks visited in CA. This is a staple in the rotation, they even deliver and handle take out orders very well.

Growing up in LA, I feel comfortable distinguishing "authentic" Mexican food and was excited to read reviews here on Yelp stating that Mr. Taco had it. Apparently I did not get a copy of the dictionary which equates "authentic" with poorly executed and distasteful. This was one of the worst meals that I ever had! So I had a carnitas burrito and a side of chips and guac. This took 15 minutes despite the fact that there was only one person in front of me, who ordered fajitas. The meat in my burrito was way overcooked and alternately burnt and chewy. The quac was hardly even mixed together, probably because the avocado were unripe and rock hard. To top it off, what I did eat gave me the runs the entire next day! Look, for the prices they charge, I did not expect much, but edible? Yes, that is important. HUGE FAIL!!!!

I hate to expose this treasure, its hidden behind the CVS & defunct Pollo Loco on Holcomb Bridge - so make sure you turn onto Warsaw... Thats where you'll find this gem, but they deserve all the praise. This Gringa girl has been tolerated for getting her Mexican fix here for the past few years and its ALWAYS good. Hot and Fresh. Awesome, authentic food. Love it! There is now an Alpharetta location.

I was born and raised in San Diego, CA...so usually when people reccomend "authentic" mexican to me, it simply means half the staff once lived in Mexico, not that the food resembles anything from there! so FINALLY....a place that has all the comforts of home---amazing barbacoa tacos--even goat, if you like that (which i do!), and amazing seafood, cerviche, and some of the best damn flan Ive had in years, among other things. they have the saucy tex-mex americanized stuff too, if you prefer. But best of all? they deliver!

Wow! I have never experienced a lack of customer service like this before in my LIFE!! We have placed several delivery orders with Mr. Taco and they have not once gotten our order correct. It has been minor in the past so we have never made a big deal. Tonight could not be ignored. We placed our order at 9pm and our order arrived at 9:40 ice cold and incorrect. We called simply to complain and maybe receive a credit for a future order. The man who answered the phone insisted on sending the order out again (I declined several times but he insisted). When the delivery man arrived (again 40 minutes later), he said to my husband "this is the last time". My husband asked him to explain and he said it's too far. They deliver within 3 miles and we are 3.4 miles away. Never once have they mentioned this in the previous times we have placed an order with them. Had they informed us of this we would have said thanks we'll call someplace else. He was extremely rude to my husband and then proceeded to ask my husband (who is white) if anyone in the house spoke Spanish, my husband explained that I'm Mexican and speak Spanish. I heard the conversation so I came up to see what was going on. He again explained that they no longer wanted our business and that we were not to order from them again because we live too far and they do not have sense enough to inform their customers of this prior to accepting the order and the money. He had no need to tell us not to order from them as we will never order from them again!! I wonder if he would have treated a darker complected Hispanic with the same disrepect.

The best Mexican food around this area. Very small place right on the corner of Holcomb bridge and Warsaw rd, good prices and pretty decent atention

Very cute little place. It's one of those that you walk up, order, take a number, and they bring it to your table. I had guac and chips and the carne asada tacos. There's a salsa bar that has really good salsas, radishes, and peppers. The tacos were good but the meat was a little dry. I think next time i will try the Al Pastor. They had all kind of things that looked delicious, like sopes and combo plates. They get busy at lunch time so make sure you have time, but it wasn't too long of a wait. I will be back soon!

Two words: Cheap and Good!! Let me start off by saying I'm VERY picky when it comes to my Mexican food, because I AM Mexican!! So initially, I was skeptical about this place, as I am with any Mexican restaurant. However, my dad had already been there before me and he said nothing but good things about it. He made it sound so delicous that I immediately felt hungry. And all along he was right. Mr. Taco NEVER disappoints me!! Ok, I've only been here a couple times but it's AMAZING GOODNESS!! Plus it's super cheap, friendly service and a clean atmosphere! It can't get better than that! Conveniently located right next to the Best Western Roswell Inn & Suites Hotel for travelers, this is a go-to place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. I can't remember everything I had from this place. But I definately had the carne asada sopes and tlalpeno soup. Oh, another cute thing about this tiny restaurant is the salsa bar at the back. There's a variety of salsas to choose from and I always can't resist but to try like at least 5 different kinds.Everything I've tried from here is yummy and I can't wait to go back!

I saved my 100th review for something I am passionate about.......TACOS. Yes Tacos. I have found my go to place in the suburbs for some good authentic tacos. As of late trendy mexican restaurants have taken on the name taqueria....which is a shame because I don't think you can say you are a taqueria and have items on your menu for more than $10! Back to Mr. Taco. -great corn tortillas -use plenty of cilantro (the way it should be) -have a small salsa bar with a blend for people of all spices -heathy - all grilled, no fried....it ain't real if it's fried....thus the fish taco was great. -5 stars based on price, taste, and being authentic ......despite the name not being authentic :) Go here instead of there.....there being that place you spend $11 on a plate of tacos.

This place is pretty authentic! I mean a place that KNOWS how to make a homemade MEXICAN chicken tortilla soup has to be authentic! AND they serve WHITE Mexican cheese so you KNOW it must be authentic Mexican food!!! Besides the authenicity, the carne asada tacos were just yum! My bf and my UCF friends love meeting here and now I know why!!! :D

Eh, they're OK. Living a stone's throw from Mexico, I can guarantee you that this place is not authentic. The first time here, I followed my friend's lead and got the tacos on soft corn tortillas. Pretty good but nothing mind-blowing. The second time I thought I'd switch it up and order the crunchy tacos. BAD idea, just bad. FYI, authentic places don't use boxed Ortega shells for tacos. What blasphemy! Luckily my friend ordered the soft tacos and gave me the 2nd tortilla from each of her tacos so I wouldn't have to ask for a mulligan. If I'm in Roswell again & want a taco fix, I'll go here but only because it's the closest thing to real Mexican food in that part of the country. What I should do is open an authentic taco shop, I'd rake in the dough! (P.S. Trust me when I say the California burritos are more like Oregon burritos, they're not the burritos you can get here. That is all.)

Ok with Some Yelpers who reviewed this place that I know personally! I know Naoya, Bill, and Angela all have a pretty good palate! So I drove here in anticipation on trying the Lingua Taco. When you 1st step into this joint it feels like a franchise Mexi Place! There is definitely a Gringo style, or the Authentic Style- be sure to ask for what you want. I ordered the # 3 lunch special.(Beef Burrito, taco + rice combo) for 4.99 - Beef Burrito ( I asked for the shredded beef/ it automatically comes w/ ground beef if you don't specify) -Lingua taco (1.00 extra) was super tender chunks of this yummy organ meat. It was moist, and very nicely cooked w/ spices. Small Corn Tortilla (2 of them oneon top of another, a nice spoonful of the lingua, topped w/ onions and cilantro). My tortillas came out perfect! One of the best tongue tacos I've had around ATL! - Guava Drink in a small for 1.99 Meal was pretty huge. Not your basic Burrito w/ cheese rice and beans! It was all shredded beef w/ a bit of cheese, smothered in this red sauce w/ more cheese (looked more like an Enchilda) Nice amount of rice (red rice w/ some corn in it) for a side. I have to say this is a great place to eat at lunch! Great station of hot sauces, salsa, and pepper condiments. The have this wonderful charbroiled green peppers w/ onions , fantastic w/ any entrees! There was alot of Spanish Speaking Customers! My server told me I was smart to order the Taco, cause it's one of the best Lingua tacos in town- and I must agree.. the Tongue was tasty!!

So, don't come here looking for a lot of ambience. . . walking in felt like I was just too steps away from a high school cafeteria, albeit it one with a salsa bar. Do come here looking for a damn decent meal. I had some delicious chips & salsa (which I had to pay for again, what is it with this new trend?) and some Mexican-style tacos, 2 pollo and 2 al pastor. Nothing fancy here, delicious meat, fresh cilantro, and perfectly sauteed onions. My only complaint would have been that the chick was a little on the dry side, but not the end of the world. I walked away with a happy belly, which was the goal.

Great food. This is one of our family's favorite places for a quick bite. If they served booze and had a little atmosphere, I may never go to another Mexican restaurant. I recommend the Enchiladas Rancheros. I challenge you to find a better Mex dish at a better price!

I'd give it 5 stars if it was healthy. Some dishes are but I can't resist the rice and beans. If you're looking for fast, cheap and cheerful, this is it. Tasty and what a variety! The menu is great and pretty authentic. Soups, sandwiches, burritos, tacos and tons more. They also have a salsa bar. Oh and they deliver. Could it get any better? It's bare bones you're in and you're out. Decor is cafeteria-like but you're only there to eat. Delicious and affordable. Try it!

I promised I would come back and dine-in, and I did. Senior Taco was delicious. I got queso with spinach, and used the extra chips to try almost every one of their salsas. The salsa bar is the restaurant's selling point, providing numerous fresh, homemade varieties. I had the #6 lunch plate with ground beef. It was standard but good. The prices can't be beat.

Its been quite some time since I have been here, so I do not know how I managed to miss reviewing this place. Its to Mexican Fast Food what the old Frank Ma's was to Chinese. The menu is mostly in the language of their typical clientele, and the only English you'll see on the walls is "VISA" and "MasterCard". I've been here twice, and enjoyed it. They have tacos, enchiladas, burritos and other mexican items with more meats than just your standard beef, chicken and pork. You can get chorizo and tongue too if I am not mistaken. Probably other stuff too but its been at least 20 years since I took Spanish class in high school. Prices were good, parking was easy and there was plenty of room. I'd definitely recommend this over the taco bell and el pollo loco both almost literally within spitting distance of Mr. Taco.

Not that bad... If you were to find the good stuff.... especially taco in this area... Finally a place that resembles somewhat of a taco place in East L.A... It's no King Taco... but I will definitely go back there for my taco fixes from now on... One thing... that tacos were little greasy... other than that... It was okay~!

wow, hands down the best mexican food i've ever had and i've been to mexico twice and have tried my fair share around here. i agree that this is definitely not a place for ambiance, in fact i saw a lot of people just get it as take-out. it is definitely cheaply priced which is also a huge plus. i've always wanted to try that chicken/rice/salsa soup and here it was unbelievable! i also got a fabulous side taco with an authentic corn tortilla with fresh spices. even the corn chips and salsa bar for choosing your dipping was incredible.

The first time I ate here I knew I had finally found it! I grew up in Phoenix, AZ and have Mexican godparents. Having lived in the South for 7 years with infrequent visits back home, I was constantly craving the comfort food of my upbringing. Being caucasian, I know an authentic place for mexican food is when there are 90% hispanic people eating there at any given time. Weekends are fun because there are many families eating while watching the soccer games on the big screen tv. The food here is fresh and delicious and incredibly authentic to the food my family and friends made back home. I am a stickler for steak tacos with tons of cilantro, sour cream, salsa verde and limes. My boyfriend is a vegetarian and usually gets the cheese enchiladas. He feels that their beans are very bland, so he tries to stay away from them. Regardless, this is his favorite mexican restaurant. They have really good cheese dip and a fantastic salsa bar that is well stocked and contains many things beyond sauces. They have limes, fresh radish slices, roasted jalepenos, etc. Service is walk-in, order at the counter and food is delivered to your table. You get your own drinks and items from the salsa bar. I know they do to-go and deliveries as well.

I have eaten here one time back in 2009. The food here is absolutely excellent. I the food here is excellent and plentiful. I came here with my oldest brother, my mother, and her friend and her friend's husband. They have some of the best Mexican food ever. The atmosphere is clean. Also, the food is served quick and hot as well. I will definitely come back here again. I will also recommend this place as well.

I am going back to Mr. Taco for the third time in three days today to try out the soups. My first visit I tried the carne asado tacos (very good), the cabeza taco (fantastic!) and the beans and rice. The cabeza taco (cheek meat, not brains) was so good I had to stop for a mexican style cabeza burrito yesterday. I polished off three salsa containers with the burrito. All of the salsas are wonderful and fresh and not crazy hot (although I haven't yet found the courage to try the hottest, the habenero). This place is so authentic they even have a professionally made sign with "delivery" spelled wrong. The only negatives I can come up with is that if they're really busy, you can wait as long as twenty minutes for your food, and they don't serve cervesa fria!

I love the authentic tacos. A little pico de gallo, sauteed onion, and some of their amazing salsas are all you need. I usually get the carnitas, carne asada, and pollo tacos. The refried beans are great too- they even made me a little smily face when I ordered them with sour cream. I noticed they're now offering California Burritos- it's on!!!

Thank you Mr Taco for providing me with real tacos in Roswell. My only complaint here is the English menu is completely different. If you want the real deal order from the left side. Thier tacos are a tad pricey, but worth the premium over the drive to Buford highway. Salsa bar is extensive and quite good, and they sell mexican coke (with cane sugar!).

Call me crazy, but I think that this place can rival some fan faves on Buford Highway. For those of you who think Rincon Latino is good-- maybe you should try Mr. Taco! Similar ambiance, but the food is actually good! I had an enchilada and a taco and I must say they were both delicious!! BF had 4 tacos (pork and chicken) and complimented them with the various salsas from the taco bar--and he RAVED. Let's get real-- the salsa bar alone is a reason to add this place to the rotation. Yes its OTP, but this place has some cred!

Okay, it is a hole in the wall, but oh! what delicious Mexican treats await within. I am addicted to the talapeno soup, but the menu is big and has everything from fish to carnitas. The prices are dirt cheap and the portions good sized. The condiment bar holds lots of salsas and peppers. The TV is set to Spanish language stations. Sometimes is warm in the summer. They are stingy with the air conditioning.

Don't overlook the wonderful Tlalpeño soup and the seafood ceviche tostada is a delicious bargain. Everything is good and I must now visit weekly.

Mr. Taco is great for take out or delivery. Dine in, kinda bright, just booths but lotsa local Hispanics which means the food is good. Excellent chiles poblanos and other authentic Mexican fare in big portions at great prices. They have an extensive salsa bar (most are WAY too HOT for most gringos but still really tempting). Ordering on the phone has been challenging in the past, but more recently VERY efficient and large orders delivered with accuracy. Mexican food delivery is a rarity, and we are glad to have Mr. Taco in our neighborhood because it is excellent food as well!

It's hard to believe that it's been 6 years since I wrote my first review of Mr. Taco. Some things have changed - they've refreshed the store front and printed a nice fancy menu in English above the cash registers - and some things haven't - the Tlalpeno Soup! As part of the Farewell Tour of my favorite lunch spots, I again visited recently for that soup. It's the same flavorful broth, fresh veggies, rice, cheese, chicken, adobo pepper and avocado. It's a classic, so comforting on a cold winter's day. The guacamole on the salsa bar is more of a thin sauce than a chunky dip, but it's still great for dipping your tortillas. They now offer chips with your soup (as opposed to just corn or flour tortillas). Still a great spot, and I'm happy to see it thriving!

After getting hit with a Mexican craving, I used Yelp to find a taco place near my house (about 4 miles) and this one had great reviews. I was looking for something on the more authentic side, so reading the reviews really helped make the decision to come here. It reminds me of a little taco place up near Riverside that's attached to a gas station, and which has some of the best tacos I have eaten. While these tacos weren't quite as good, they were definitely the same style. Fresh ingredients, two corn tortilla loaded with meat and stacked together for maximum stability, and similar price (around $1.50-1.90 per taco). I got three tacos, and saved the last one for a later meal. I got the chicken, steak, and pastor (marinated pork). My favorite was the pastor. The marinated pork, understandably, was just far superior in taste to the other meats, which were a little under seasoned but still good. THE VERDICT: Really delicious Mexican-style food. Despite the cheesy Americanized name, this place is a small place with great food at affordable prices. Three tacos will run you around $6, and they easily fill someone my size up. There's also a salsa bar, which is a nice touch. If I have anyone looking for authentic style tacos, this is the place I'll take them. It's no frills, fast service, and affordable.

Everything we have tried is great. They have authentic Mexican cuisine as well as Tex-Mex. The salsa bar is wonderful-- the medium salsa has a really good flavor and has just enough heat for me. You do need to order chips-- but don't skip them, because you need to try the different salsas. My husband loves the Mexican tacos. This is a go-to for Mexican food when we are in the area.

"If your reviews are sounding like essays, start a blog. I can't read your life story on my phone before ordering from the menu." [Time & Date of visit]: Multiple weekday and weekend afternoons [Party Size]: 2-3 [Location/Ambiance]: Better than a hole in the wall, just due to how messy it can be. The booths are small and maybe fits 4 people max on the left of the restaurant. And 2 on the right. A TV is usually on the Telemundo channel with various soap opera's and is pretty loud. We usually luck out and order our food and grab a table before a crowd appears. [Service]: Fast casual kind of setup. Order at the counter and pick your own sauces and beverage. While the food is brought out to you via a table number. Tip can be added when paid at the counter. You also leave the plates on the table after finished dining. There aren't any bussers, so sometimes they don't do a good job of cleaning after a table leaves. You might be waiting on a table and plates are still sitting there. And yes, the cashiers do speak English clearly. No translators needed. [Food Highlights]: Just to try out all the selection of protein choices, I've mainly just ordered taco's. 3-4 is usually enough to fill me up. Most meats are minced up. Exception being shrimp, though the pieces are small. Unless stated otherwise, all tacos come with cilantro and diced onions, and are double stacked on white corn tortilla's I believe. Though protein choices might be jumbled up on the menu; for burrito's, you can still order them for taco's and vice versa. The salsa bar also doesn't have anything mild to me, it's all medium and up lol. Even the pico de gayo has a slight kick. Tacos: Pork Pastor - One of my favorites and consistent on the flavor for all the times that I have ordered it. Comes in a type of red marinate, I'm not sure of how to describe it aside from being yummy. Chorizo - Another favorite, as well as consistent. It's not a slice of chorizo, but deconstructed and in crumbles. Barbacoa (beef) - soft, stewed beef pieces that come in chunks. Not always consistent, but good nevertheless. Camarones / Shrimp - It's been a hit or a miss sometimes. Sometimes it's blackened, sometimes it's just skillet grilled I presumed. I prefer San Pancho's version instead. Carne Asada - Usually overcooked and chewy. I prefer the other types of meats instead. [Total Bill w/ Tip & Tax]: 4 taco's, it's less than $10. {Summary}: Mr. Taco might sound a bit cheesy and fit for more of taqueria that is adjoined to a gas station I think, but both locations are on point for authentic Mexican street taco's. The menu is vast though it's just a la cart or a plate with rice and beans w/ a side of shredded lettuce, tomato and sour cream. The value and flavor of the food is on par. Cleanliness might err a few people, and hold up any tables during the lunch rush. But they are worth a visit for lunch and dinner, even when crowded.

Cheese dip was average but most of our party enjoyed the chips it came with. We tried two salsas from the free salsa bar - the guacamole and green tomatillo, and both were very good. The Mexican burrito with cochinita pibil was dry and nothing special but the refried beans it came with were excellent. We tried 3 Mexican tacos - the amount of cilantro and onion was balanced. Of the 3, the cochinita pibil was the favorite, but the pastor was also very good. The cecina beef was pretty tough. The last member of our party had the Tlalpeno soup, which was as good as the other reviews suggest, and the tostada de tingo, which she also enjoyed. Well priced and a very casual atmosphere. They also have a great selection of sodas with real sugar.

Cheap place for good food. I had two taco supremes and the total was $3.10 (supreme is beef or chicken, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and sour cream on either a hard or soft shell). I would return. They have a salsa bar too, where you can try all their salsas.

    (4)
  • Yasmine B.

Pleasantly surprised. The restaurant has a salsa bar where you can take how much of whichever salsa you like. I enjoyed the carne ASADA taco very much, the serving of steak is generous... Best of all it's super cheap!! You order at the counter and they bring you your food to your table. Only thing that would make this place better is margaritas!!

The only negative is the name but don't let it fool you. It speaks volumes to me when the place was packed on an off night and there was only one other "American" family in the whole place. I knew then, it was genuine. All the food items we ate had a very authentic taste. FYI the Tlalpeno soup is as good as everyone raves about. I didn't even mind the little girl that was a cashier with the nasty attitude. I recommend this place!

I was here a few days ago for lunch with some colleagues. It was pretty crowded for a lunch spot. Almost everyone in our group got the same thing....tlalpeno soup. It is a delicious, spicy, chicken broth based soup with cheese, avocado, large red pepper, and other flavorful ingredients. A choice of flour or corn tortillas is offers with the soup. There is also a salsa bar here where you have choices of sauces ranging from mild to hot to very hot to super hot. I stuck to the mild one but I may venture to the other sauces next time I am here.

Went to this place for lunch the other day after a few people had mentioned it. Right down the road from my office so very convenient. The food was excellent and defiantly going to try it out again. They give you a good amount of food for the price so a great bargain!

Alone on a Saturday for a quick bite... the place is a hole in a mini mall. The ground beef is clean and good. The taco shells are crappy pre-made you can buy from store. Nothing special. The enchilada was okay again nothing special. The red tamitillo hot sauce from the salsa bar very good. If I never made it back here. Would be no loss.

Was in the area so I did I did a Yelp search for cheap eats. Mr. Taca fit the bill for lunch. As other reviewers note this is not a place with table service. You order at the window, get your soft drink or tea at the soda fountain, gather some salsa at their extensive salsa bar and find a seat. The server will bring your order to your table. The menu has a lot of options you don't come too hungry -- you'll need to keep your wits about you to order up your food. I ordered soft tacos - a fish and a chicken and and asked for some mole sauce on the side. I wanted to taste the mole sauce to get a sense of their spices and to see if my second visit would be for dinner. The mole was complex, well seasoned and in short fabulous -- I'll be back for dinner (chicken mole). The tacos were good -- and the salsas allowed me to zing them up with a proper kick.

Food here is decent and authentic. If a mexican restaurant has majority mexican patrons, u cant go wrong with the food. However, this place needs to decide whether it will be set up like a fastfood joint where everything is self service or an actual restaurant with servers. It seemed to be kinda halfway in between the two. First off, food did not arrive in proper order. Chips and queso dip came first. Soft drinks were self serve but i ordered guava juice, which i had to wait at the table for until a lady brought it from the kitchen. Then burrito and tacos came next. I had ordered sides with my tacos but it did not arrive together and the server completely forgot about it until i asked while i was on my last taco. And then the missing soup was brought out last. Every plate was brought to the table separately by different employees. So there were much confusion about what i had ordered. In addition, other than the salsa bar, there were no hot sauce bottles at the table. Tacos and burritos need extra hot sauce kick beyond just spicy salsa in my opinion. Lets talk about price. Spending over $30 for some tacos, burrito, dip, and soup for lunch seems a bit pricy. I have a feeling they may have rang it up wrong as i was not given a receipt. If the food was out of this world great, i would pay $30 for mexican lunch. My carne asada steak had quite a bit of fat and my tacos were drenched in oil and i have no idea why. And the steaks were not chopped up so i had to shred them with my fingers and take all the fatty pieces out......which made my tacos cold....which made the meat taste more gamey....and i got a stomach ache right away. Not a good sign. I may give it one more try next time by ordering something else. But for now, its mediocre at best.

We ate here, based on the good reviews listed here. Then, upon leaving we spotted the 'B' rating. Yes, it's very authentic and cheap...but perhaps too much so. We won't be back.

Great service, willing to explain the menu Great food, tons of different salsas, some are HOT, and some are mild. I love to try them all Fast--Seriously, I've never waited more than 15 min and the food is fresh Filling--SOOO filling (depending on what you get) but I usually am full the reminder of the day Cheap--always a plus for a broke girl! What else can I say? Come here and give it a try

First you need to know that it is not a table service, hang out, go with friends out to eat kind of place.....however, the food is excellent, fast and cheap. It's very authentic Mexican fare and never disappoints. The inside is more like a fast food place but the food itself is anything but! Great little place for lunch or anybody on a budget. My favorites: Pastor Tacos ( pork, pineapple, grilled onion, cilantro) Mex Chicken soup is AWESOME

Lets just say HOLY MOLY !!!! Best burrito I've eated since moving here from California. Cali is the Mecca of burritos and mexican food besides Mexico lol but mr taco just tops all that . Gotta try the california burrito. If your not sure ask one of the people there they'll gladly help U choose!!!!

Okay, I can update my review since I just are there again. I had a chicken fajita quesadilla. It was really good. Not too greasy, freshly prepared. I like the salsa bar with all the options. They take a while to cook which makes it hard to get here and back in a lunch hour. However, they deliver!

Wow. For a fast Mexican joint, this place is really good. I ran over there Saturday afternoon to finally check it out. Always a good sign, there were a good handful of people hanging out and the food looked great. As is my usual, I went with a steak burrito with a side of beans. Fantastic. The beans needed a touch of salt, but the burrito was kick-ass. So fast forward to Sunday morning. I stayed up waaaay too late finally catching up on DVR'd episodes of 24 (Jack Bauer is on bad you-know-what). I woke up thinking I'd go out to breakfast. I threw on ga hat, grabbed my wallet and headed out the door. I got in my car, and looked at the clock. 3 pm. Dammit. The plans in my mind changed, and I figured "What the hell?". I went back to Mr. Taco. There weren't very many people this time, but I knew what I was in the mood for. Chicken Quesadilla. Again, really good. The only downside is that there was one gentleman that walked in just after I sat down. Covered in arm tattoos, his backwards had, grungy t-shirt, and mullet gave him the look of a 1980's Def Leppard roadie. He ordered his food, proceeded to the salsa bar (where he made a complete mess; spilling all over the place) and sat down. You would think in a relatively empty restaurant, you would grab a table with a little privacy. Not mullet-fuck. He sat directly behind me...and decided to play drums on the table like a 4-year old. Oh, how that pisses me off. I'd be remiss to say that I wasn't too afraid that some of his greasy hair would waft my way, and I hope it didn't. That being said, if you see someone fitting that description, make your order to go. old, and began to sing to himself. Entertaining as it may have been to some, it doesn't fly too well with me.

Read the reviews and gave it a try. Awful. Ordered 2 marinaded beef tacos to go. Two dry rubbery taco wrapped around about 2 cents of crap dried beef with a small amount of cilantro. Call themselves Mr. Taco. They should be ashamed. Anything on the $1 menu at the next door Taco Bell would have been far superior.

My favorite restaurant. Simple and delicious EVERY TIME. Perfect salsa bar. The food always arrives to the table promptly. Though, I've heard delivery takes some time. I've not tried it myself.

Tlalpeno soup. I suspect that if I ate this soup once a week I would never get sick. Just polished off a bowl and it always hits on every cylinder. A must try if you stop here.

This is a good spot to have Mexican food, if you are tired of the typical run of the mill Mexican joints. You walk up to the counter, give your order, fill your cup at the self serve drink fountain, take your number to the table, and they bring out your order; a little out of the ordinary for a Mexican joint. The food is excellent, there is a unique salsa bar, but the service is a bit dicey. Give it a shot if you are in the area, but do not expect anything great.

    (3)
  • B M.

Very inconsistent quality. I usually get fish tacos or black bean burrito. Even as simple as these are they manage to screw it up about half the time. The black bean burrito might be swimming in some soupy brown sauce with a slurry of Velveeta-like cheese of some kind. The fish tacos might be small bits of fish in a double corn tortilla. Next time I go, it could be much better, like they change cooks out and you're either lucky or unlucky as to who prepares your order. We've tried their Tlalpeno soup. First time it was excellent. The next time you would have thought we were at a different restaurant. I literally got home, opened the container and had to add chicken strips from my refrigerator. There was no, none, zero chicken in the soup at all. It was broth, veggies and spice. By the way, I get consistently good food from El Porton on Alpharetta Highway in Roswell. I have discovered from experience to keep it simple when ordering here. Mr. Taco is hit or miss in terms of quality so beware. Food is cheap, that may explain a few of the problems.

I tried Mr. Taco a few years ago and wasn't all that impressed but I recently went back a week ago with a friend from work because she was craving "the soup." The tlalpeno soup is so amazing! Chicken, rice, avocado and cheese excellently seasoned. It normally comes with a chipotle pepper and pico but that can be omitted for those that don't like the spice. Perfect for a rainy day!

  • Mark M.

Disappointed after my first trip. May try again but they didn't do anything to impress me today. Is it too much trouble for you guys along with CVS to not make your grounds to resemble a city dump? Looks like trash hasn't been picked up in ages. When I arrived it appeared slightly busy but that is no reason for me to wait over 20 minutes for a basic order. The person who ordered in front of me finished their meal before mine even arrived. Food was pretty good but portion was smaller than other similar establishments. I did like the vibe and the salsa bar was impressive. I will have to give this another shot but so far I'm disappointed.

Mr. Taco really hits the spot! I was a little hesitant to try it after reading mixed reviews but was impressed with both the food and service. The restaurant is small but very clean, the employees do a good job of cleaning up tables as soon as customers leave so there are enough seats for incoming customers. The salsa bar is fresh and always filled to the top. I ordered the chimichanga and enjoyed every bit, it came out quickly and was very flavorful. I may try not try something new next time (the chimichanga was really that good), but I look forward to coming back!

This place is the truth ( it's really good). I haven't had anything bad here yet. Today I had the enchiladas rancheros. Which is two cheese enchiladas with chunks of pork in red sauce and a guacamole salad. The pork is sooo tender, just the way I like it. This place is affordable and good, what more do you need to know to come and see for yourself?........nothing

Lots of different menu options from enchiladas, tacos and more. I have loved everything I tried. My favorites are probably the enchiladas rancheras and the shrimp taco.

  • Whitney P.

Mr. Taco is consistently delicious and one of my favorite places to go to eat or have delivered in my area. I love the California chicken burrito with guacamole - sooo good that I always eat too much. The Tlalpeno soup is also awesome as are the fajita quesadillas. The guacamole salsa on the salsa bar is so good as are some of the other salsas if you like spicy. Everyone who works there is always so nice too.

    (5)
  • davo w.

Yeah - the trash needed to be emptied when I went there too. And there was more fat than necessary in one of the tacos. But the recipes for everything I got were right on the money, salsas were flavorful (and not blistering hot). And it's clear they know what they're doing in the kitchen. Go get some!

  • Sally R.

Um, yeah. Mr. Taco is incredible. Mexican food with delivery service? Yeah, you win. But aside from that, the menu is extensive, prices are great, and salsa bar js SO good!! My husband is especially pleased with the fact that they serve horchata. My favorite item is the grande chicken quesadilla. Hubs loves the tortas. One time the delivery person forgot all of the different salsas we ordered. He drove all the way back to the restaurant to get our salsa and came back with not only that but a free dessert as well. Awesome!! Mr. Taco FTW.

  • Melissa H.

Fast service. Salsa bar is awesome. Most of the food could use a little more seasoning. However the fajita burrito is delicious. I've tried quite a few of the menu items and this the one I've stuck with. The chicken is ok but the steak is best. It comes with refried beans, rice and cheese sauce. Yum yum!

  • Jenn R.

The food is amazing! Tastes exactly like the way my Mama makes them! It's almost bittersweet because it makes you very homesick but there's so many yummy options. The tortas are my favorite. The meat is always perfectly seasoned and cooked; the fresh veggies are just that: fresh. The bread is also warmed on the grill to add more flavor. There's so many salsas to choose from varying from mild to very spicy and it's all made fresh daily from what I've seen. For desserts, I've only ever tried their flan and arroz con leche. Both are very yummy and satisfy my sweet tooth. My only complaint would be that in some locations their portions are very small for the prices. Go in for a quick bite, to try something new, or fill up on something delicious

This is one of my go to spots for a SoCal/Mex fix. Mr Taco has enough heat and salsa options to satisfy my spice cravings..meaning the flavor and heat isn't cooled off (or dumbed down) to the standard Georgia heat setting. Don't take that personally y'all;) Ample supply of flaky thin chips, amazing selection of salsas and other hot, spicy choices at the salsa bar. Love, love, love the Tlalpeno soup, basic street tacos and quesadillas! Friendly and fast, great little spot in Roswell and on North Point in Alpharetta.

I just have to give it five stars. I don't like to, but I just can't stop thinking about this place, and that has to mean something. There is Mexican food, and then there is Mexican food for people who watch NCIS. Mr. Taco has both. You can get both a kick-ass taco autentico but also something that you make at home from an Old El Paso kit. Know the difference. You'll find plates of mix-and-match tortillas, rice, beans and meat all covered in that white cheese sauce that Americans will sell their children for, but also tamales properly wrapped in corn husks. Here's the trick: look around at the people who are actually comprehending the telenovelas on the TV screens around the restaurant, and order what they're eating. Have the carnitas; it's amazing. Ditto the chorizo. Goat, lengua, cabeza- all good. Have the chicharrones if you need to check it off your list, but I wasn't a fan. Try the salsas, both red and green. Don't shy from the ones labeled "very hot," but go easy. Diabetics should avoid the horchata, but that, along with several agua frescas, are some of the interesting beverage options. Maybe that five star rating is an overreaction, but I'm so happy to have a place like this close by. And there are two locations! Both a welcome addition to my life. Oh, the carnitas.

I actually got a yelp just to review this place. This family owned an operated restaurant has the best staff. The have amazing food! All at a great price. The people working there are friendly, informative, helpful and patient. I've only been there twice and everything's been great both times! So far my two favorite are the homemade juices and the Jalapeño I chicken soup! Don't let the storefront or fast food look detour you I promise it's worth it!

I used to eat here, but the last couple times the service has been Totally Horrible, I mean Horrible. My causin has had a hair in her food and one of the waitress argued with us that it was not a hair, and still asked us for .75 for sour cream. I normally eat here twice a week, but today was my last time.

We had such a disappointing visit to Mr. Taco today. My husband ordered a torta and to his surprise, bit into a bread tie. He asked for a manager and was told there was none. I sent an email and the mailbox is full. I tried calling this evening and again, told there was no manager. Wow. Thanks, Mr. Taco. :-/

I went with a friend yesterday, and he was really excited to show me this great Mexican place that according to him is a great find. I had the enchiladas Suizas with rice and beans. They were not good at all. The rice was microwaved, the chicken was watery, and the tortillas tasted old and watery as well. When I tried to get some ice tea, there were a lot of mosquitos there. The prices are great but the quality of the food not so much. I did like the salsa bar. Great addition!

Two Words - Tlalpeño Soup I order from Mr. Taco for lunch from my office. They deliver for an order of just $12. That's normally just two people who want to order out. The soup is spicy, filling, and always fresh. I would recommend this place to anybody in the area for lunch.

Well. I'll never ear here again on sunday. Seems they keep the b or d grad3 staff working. called for delivery. 1sr time I called was put on hold for 10 kinures finally hung up phone. Took another ten minutes before they answered again. Finally got my order in part of which was supposed to be free. Last time o ordered they brought wrong food to me. This time the girl who is the manager on this sunday was too busy to listen to my order (same thing oredered same way 6 times a week that I eat here) and when my tacos arrived an hour later they were wrong again. This time I called and they girl said I was lying. So I took my food to the restaurant snd got my money back. I'll never eat here again.

When I walked in I thought to myself, "this place has got to be good! There are actually Mexicans in here!" My fiancé and I got the burrito verde and chicken taquitos. Both were very good! The shredded beef inside the burrito was so tender and juicy! I also loved the extensive bar of sauces that they offer. I think this place is even better than some on Buford highway. We will definitely return to try other tasty items on the menu!

Giving Mr.Taco 3 stars for a solid selection of eats. My coworkers had been trying to get me here for awhile since I rave about my fav taco spot (San Pancho) and they say this is better. It's not. But I would surely join them in future visits. I tried the chicken, fish and shrimp taco to do some comparison. The fish and shrimp were very flavorful and satisfying but the chicken was pretty dry. They use double corn tortillas as well and the standard onions and cilantro. They also have a great salsa bar that helped the dry chicken taco. I need my taco places to look a bit more grungy too.

This place is exactly what it intends to be, a small in-expensive mexican place with great food. You order at a walk up counter, with a difficult to read board above it, you'll have to either pick up a paper menu at the counter or wait till you are wound around the line a bit directly in front of the cash registers to see the offerings. They have everything from a-la-carte tacos, burritos, etc to small combination plates. The most fun feature here is the salsa/toppings bar, ranging from mild, medium, hot salsas and pepper toppings. Chips are 1$ extra though and must be ordered specifically, so to try out the Salsa bar remember to order your chips! Also, they have the Mexican version of the Coca Cola!

I enjoyed my fajita burrito. I did not know what to order, the girl working the front said that the fajita burrito was a popular seller and it was soooo delicious. I agree it was good. I also splurged and got the 2.00 cheese dip, which was excellent. The cheese dip was almost buttery. The chips were great and complimented my meal. The format is order and take a number and one of the lovely ladies will deliver your food. It was a plain decor with Spanish Speaking television going. I watched some kind of latin family programming with no sound or subtitles while I enjoyed my yummy burrito. The cashier said next time I have to try the soup of which I cannot remember the name. Great restaurant. Go try it.

Good & quick tacos. Nice price too. Be warned there is no booze. The price & quality should make up for that though.

Mr. Taco was surprisingly good. Get the molcajete, which is a stone bowl full of chicken, steak, chorizo, roasted peppers, cactus and all sorts of other goodness that I have since forgotten. I came to this restaurant late one night just hoping for food that was something other than WaHo of IHOP and I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the food here was actually good. I think the best thing about this restaurant is open late, which is uncommon OTP, aside from IHOP and WaHo.

Great asada tacos. The only reason they don't get 5 stars is because, I prefer to take out tham to eat there. The salsa bar is sometimes a disaster. The food is really good, the staff is friendly and helpful. The food always comes out fast and portions are good! Never been disappointed. I go all the time!

First, the down side. Massive fluorescent lighting. Ouch. The pro's: The FOOD!!! The Salsa bar. The Menu. I love the tacos... they are small but amazing. Right up there with Perla, Verde, Tsunami... I also love the Tlalepeno and the enmoladas (which I get with carne asada or al pastor) The chips are hot, crisp and salty, and they put rolls of paper towel on the tables... So if your a messy eater, hallelujah. Another PRO... It's a hole in the wall, one of a kind place and well attended by people who know mexican food.

Funny to see a bunch of southern white folks calling this place authentic all over these reviews. Where are all the Mexican reviewers? This place is a step in the right direction, the food is still tex-mex'y' but better than the local alternatives and the portions are definitely Americanized-Super Sized. but overall, a great place to get a taco fix and some orchata to wash them down with. My kid was pretty excited to get chorizo tacos with a jaritos soda. 1st time he ever tried chorizo. I got 2 chicken tacos and 1 carne asada. they were overflowing... i could have done just fine with 2. I washed them down with the biggest bucket of jamaica ever... I ordered a small cup but the lady said they only have one size: Gringo

We have been back 3 more times and everything we order we REALLY enjoy. In fact, we just can't bring ourselves to eat Mexican food anyplace else. This place is really basic - in that I mean no frills. Don't expect a waiter/waitress to bring chips and salsa to your table, nope, you order and take a # to your table and the food comes out in a timely fashion. God, I wish they served beer. Oh I mean Cervesas (sp?)

If you want traditional Mexican food, or if you want something a little Tex-Mex this is the place to go. This is our go to place to get food just like my Abuela makes, salsas are the best and they have a variety so if you want to add mild or fuego they got you covered. The Best thing that reminds me of home are the chicken tamales just like my Tia's and they are the best. We are now considered regulars and they always check with us to make sure the meal was great!

After being introduced to real mexican food in California its like you can't eat mexican anywhere else. I will say I have found my mexican spot MR TACO is the joint! Food was A+ came out fast and it was CHEAP! The prices here are awesome! My wife had the steak torta and I had the chix torta both A+ and the guac was niiiceeeeee! They have a good selection of salsa on the bar all fresh. Funny how we found this place we were about to have lunch at elle pollo loco and when we pulled in they were closed out of business! I guess everything happens for a reason!

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
