I'm somewhat astounded by how long it took for me to review this place. Maybe I was subconsciously avoiding a review since Anthony's Pizza & Pasta has been associated with a couple of unfortunate events as of late; Anthony's is the first place that my closest friend and I went to after his father passed away, and another friend locked his keys in his car the last time I was there. Notwithstanding, such occurrences really shouldn't put a damper on Anthony's because this restaurant is home to outstanding pizza. For me, one of the true tests of pizza is whether it's delicious fresh out of the oven, cold, and also after being reheated a day later. Anthony's aces that test! I've also tried their shrimp fettuccini alfredo, but the main attraction is undoubtedly their pizza. I'm a fan of the red brick and wood interior that gives this family-oriented pizzeria a classic look and feel. As a family-oriented restaurant, Anthony's features several pool tables, a few arcade machines, and an air hockey table. Moreover, it's also a family-operated business; seeing the underage kid working the register reminds me of my own formative years of "indentured servitude" working at my parents' restaurant. Now that I mention it, I should tip that kid the next time I visit. Ideally, discovering and supporting local businesses is what yelp is all about, and so I encourage others in the area to patronize Anthony's Pizza & Pasta. It's exceptional given that it's one of the few praiseworthy places in Riverdale!

I've rode passed this restaurant thousands of time. Today, I had a taste for lasagna, so I chose Anthony's. I ordered lasagna and a 3 cheese ravioli kids meal. After I paid, I looked around for their health inspection score. I found it neatly placed behind the cash register. As soon as I saw it, I no longer wondered if it (you don't hide good scores) was low. It was just a matter of how low it was. 76 is the answer. It was done in March of this year which means there has been plenty of time to correct the items and get reinspected. The food was not close to what expected after reading all the favorable reviews. I didn't like the lasagna, the ravioli, the tomato sauce or all that darn cheese they put on those items. My instincts said, IT'S A 76 GET YOUR MONEY BACK! I guess I should've listened.

BUT on another note, I did go back and I'm glad I did. Their pizza is by far the best in the area...nothing else comes close, not remotely. Their large triple topping is a great value and their sauce is incredible. In complete honesty, it's even better the next day. Skip the chain and stay with Anthonys.

Worst pizza I've ever had, being from NYC/ nj area I know pizza... It was worse then chucky cheese pizza... Cheap dough consistancy... Barely any sauce and the cheese was somewhat boring and flavorless. 20$ got me a plain cheese pizza and a side of meatballs that had to have been frozen. Dominos will now be my only choice of pizza in this town.

Tried this place for the first time today and loved it! Me and my husband both got the shrimp fettuccine Alfredo for 10.99 &we both added side salads for 1.00. The prices are great and you get a ton of food. The pastas also come with these delicious little garlic buttered crescent rolls. Yum! Certainly gonna come back plus the service was good

Decent pizza, okay salad. We got a to-go order on a Hawaiian pizza & small house salad. All of which was pretty standard. The pizza didn't have as much pineapple as I had hoped though, and the salad came covered in sliced cheese slices. Sliced by hand to help you jiggle it down your throat. Easy to pick off at least. A good portion of it was half large chicken chunks and cheese, to olives, and lettuce. Not the best salad, but sufficient at the time. The pizza here would work as a good alternative to chain stores. I have no complaints about it besides there not being a lot of pineapple, but I can get over that. As for the venue, it seemed pretty quiet but a nice family eatery, arcade machines and what not plus lots of room. Staff was prompt and friendly too. If ever a late night pizza run hits again while in Riverdale.... we might be back.

I would have given this place 4 stars a couple of months ago but now they barely deserve 2. The pizza is inconsistent. One day my crust was so thin I could barely pick up the pizza because it started sticking to the box. The employees need better customer service skills and they need to hire a cook who can make the pizza the same every time. It seems like someone different makes my pizza every time. Their restaurant score is in the 80s now and was in the 90s months before. Something went wrong.

I came here for lunch. Prices are very expensive for the amount of food you get. The pizza was mediocre. Felina's pizza is way better and cheaper. I will not come back again.

Good Panzeroti at a fair price, not much else to say about this dark little place with 80's video games and pool tables.

I used to eat at this restaurant years ago when it was in Morrow. I was headed to the bank a while back and just happened to notice the sign. After going inside, sure enough, I saw all of the familiar faces that ran the last joint. Their pizza is excellent, all of their food is really. There are pool tables and arcade games but I'm usually there for lunch before heading into work so I'm in and out in no time as their service rocks.

I thought that the pizza here was okay. I like the crust and the sauce is okay. The staff was friendly and attentive. IA date brought me here because I wanted to learn how to play pool..... enjoyed the pool tables most of all. I would come here just to play pool. I had a GREAT time and the restaurant seems like it was meant to have a pool table or two in it. Come out and enjoy this place for some good wholesome fun. Great place for a 2nd or 3rd date fellows. You can get close to your Sweetie without her realizing that you are copping a feel. :) And NO. I still can't play pool! LOL!

So came in for lunch one afternoon and it has a nice little feeling to it. Server came in a reasonable amount of time - I ordered a sweet tea to drink. Another server came back and brought me a water, so I let her know that I ordered a sweet tea and she quickly got an attitude. After taking about 5 minutes to get my drink correct, she finally came to take our order. I ordered the pizza sub and that food came out rather quickly. The sub was mediocre, the bread was insanely dry and had pepperoni stacked; not spread out which just sort of didn't tickle my fancy. I might give it another try and order the pizza, but only maybe.

Ordered a chicken parm sub with fries and a coke, total came in at $6.41, an outstanding price. Unfortunately, it was worth about what I paid for it. The chicken's breading was doughy, indicating it had been fried, cooled down and reheated in a microwave. Bread wasn't toasted and had that same moist chewiness you get from steaming or microwaving a bun. It was ok and especially so for the price, but nothing I would go out of the way to get. Fries were frozen crinkle cut and pretty tasty if you like that sort of thing (I do). Adding fries to a sub order is only $.50, which is $1.49 less than indicated on the menu as far as I can see. They ought to play that up; the total package is a pretty good deal PS who in the world could eat a 14 inch sub here? The 7" sub meal is bustin' my gut

Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century.
