Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

Okay that was amazing. I had the grilled chicken burrito and it was perfect. Best burrito I have had in my life and I eat a lot of burritos. The waiter was great. He was super friendly and very attentive. I came in a group of 7 at 9:00pm and they were closing at 9:30 and not once did I feel pressured to leave. For dessert I had the homemade flan which again was the best flan I have ever had and I come from a Dominican family so I have had a lot of flan.

Muy muy bueno!!! The skirt strip steak is absolutely the best steak burrito I've had. Not to mention the upbeat music and over the top friendly staff. Not a bad place to escape the reality of pooler and enter a realm of Mexican hospitality. Would recommend to my grandma and she hates Mexican food.

So I went here for lunch with the fellas today. You know a restaurant is poppin' when you arrive in the parking lot and there aren't many spaces left to park! So eventually after finding a spot to park; we went forth for what we came to do...smash food Our waitress was not real welcoming....didn't seem like much of a people person but oh well. We placed our orders and were put in the company of fresh chips and salsa. (Which was very delicious) Before we knew it our food arrived. I was very intrigued in trying one of their specialties, the stuffed advocado. NOW THAT was a showstopper! You have the option to stuff it with steak or chicken! WHO DOES THAT!?!? It's like advocado and steak are wrapped in this amazing cheese then rolled in a bit of breadcrumbs then deep fried to perfection. It was amazing!

I was in town for work and was craving some Mexican, so to Yelp I went! You all led me to this little place in an unassuming shopping center not far off the highway. When you walk in it has the obligatory Mexican place deco and music, but boy did it take it to another level with the food! As with most places, I bellied up the bar and was promptly greeted by a friendly bartender. After scoping the menu for a few moments, I settled on the Chicken and spinach chimichanga...and boy was I glad I did! This dish was amazing. It was served with a cream/cheese sauce and sauteed onions smothering the chimi sided with the usual beans and rice. I did not have one complaint about the meal or the margarita that I decided to have accompany my meal. I ventured in for a late lunch, so the place was not hopping just yet. It is a very large and open layout, almost seemed something was missing from the floor? But, that definitely did not detract from the food, which again was delicioso!! Overall, what an awesome little Mexicano gem in ole Pooler, GA!!! Will be back when in the area!

After reading all the reviews we had to check this place out. It was better than anticipated and we will definitely be back!!!

The reviews here on Yelp are spot on! A 4 star Mexican restaurant on 80, near I95, with friendly staff, warm and proper chips, a really terrific home made salsa that packs just a little kick, and familiar Mexican, tex-Mex and chef-created specialties. Located in an otherwise non-descript strip center, the Los Bravos space is open with not a whole lot of Mexican character except the Corona flags, a few neon signs, and an obligatory sombrero or two hanging on the wall. Don't let this appearance scare you away. Los Bravos' food is the real deal. From memorable chips and salsa to the entrees you'll find quality and taste in every dish. There is a central bar that is large and lacks some character. It's a full bar so you can get one of many Marg varieties, Mexican beer or even your fave mixed drinks. Four or five TVs will have sports on, and the Mexican/Spanish pop music playing overhead may make you want to get up and dance. The house music selection is particularly good! Me dancing, however, would not be a particularly good thing. Good 'ok Pooler has grown up over the years, and despite the many forgettable local chain restaurants Los Bravos is a welcome and delicioso mom and pop choice in the area! Muy Bueno!

Watch out for overcharging they give you two waitresses and double charge you! When I questioned the bill they accused us of trying to get out of paying the bill . Really we go out every Friday night for dinner but will never go back here!!! The staff is very rude.....
(1)Aletra H.
Always great service and just as good food!! Quick service even when they are busy! Love the salsa and Los Bravos sauce.
(5)Darla R.
I think I finally found a place in Ga. that actually has good Mexican food! Everything I tried was excellent. They have an interesting menu of things you wouldn't even think of. Prices are affordable and the service couldn't be any better. A must try if you're craving some good Mexican eats. Oh, and they don't skimp on the alcohol in their Margaritas either. ;) Great job guys!
(4)Steven H.
A great Mexican restaurant. We shared veggie poblano fajitas and they were so good and so different, smothered in a tasty, white creamy sauce. My son's carne Vera Cruz was also delicious. Don't miss this little gem!
(5)Kendall F.
Best fajitas in the Savannah area, hands down! My husband and I moved to Savannah from Texas about 3 years ago and we have been on the hunt for something comparable to our beloved Tex-Mex ever since. Other establishments in the area use poor cuts of beef for the fajita meat, resulting in tough, bland fajitas. We shared the fajitas bravas and were SO pleased. Better quality meat (I believe skirt steak), that was properly marinated and the brava sauce is to die for. We will tell all of our friends about this place and be back again and again. Our only complaint is we wish we'd found it sooner!
(5)Muslimah A.
Two words: stuffed avocado! I don't know how they do it, and I don't really care! I know it tastes good. I ordered it as an appetizer, but it was enough for a meal. The fried chicken, cheese, avocado combination is a delight to both palate and belly! The music selection wasn't bad either -- it made me want to teach a Zumba class on the spot!
(4)Teri H.
We found Los Bravos just a couple minutes off the interstate. Great food, free chips and salsa, and fast service. Just 30 minutes in and out and we were back on I95 and on our way. Well worth the stop and much better than the other fast food restaurants nearby. Excellent traditional Mexican food be sure you try them!
(4)Matthew H.
Great little family restaurant with a fun atmosphere and delicious food. I got the Carne Veracruz and the cheese with peppers and steak made for some perfect fajitas. A little loud in the restaurant but that atmosphere was perfect for my party and we had a wonderful time. Don't miss!
(5)Megan J.
Definitely try the fried avacado! Got the idea from yelp and again yelp paid off! The encliadas, rice, beans and tamale were great. My hubby had some fajitas and he loved that too. But the best thing was the strawberry margarita. It could of been a little colder but was delicious none the less. It I a better than jalapeños that is In pooler. Ps request the green salsa. It's free (free refills) and delicious!
(4)Megan P.
I absolutely love Mexican food and I was not disappointed! Service was great! Chips and salsa were perfect. I had beef fajitas for lunch and the serving size was small but perfect for midday. I really liked it and have recommended it to some people I know who live in the area.
(4)Georgia S.
This is the best Mexican food. I'm from New Mexico and I could eat here every week. The staff is great and the service is gold. You have plenty of choices and the Carne Asada is so good but my favorite is the pechuga parilla. The sauce that comes with this grilled chicken dish is good enough to drink. They know how to cook skirt steak and it makes a great taco salad. The green salsa rules. They have regular combo plates but do yourself a favor and try their specials. Their fajitas chihuahua are awesome.
(5)Rosa C.
Friendly, affordable, and fast. The staff always goes the extra mile to please you! The food is delicious and though we've walked in when they are swamped, we never have a problem with the food taking long! The location is a bit off route for us, but we always find a way to the establishment because we appreciate excellent service!
(5)Liz H.
Atmosphere is nice with good, attentive & friendly service. Why two stars? The food. I had a ground beef taco, cheese enchilada, rice & beans. My taco she'll was soggy but the meat flavor was good. The cheese in my enchilada tasted synthetic & of poor quality. The entire plate stayed in oven too long. My beans were dry, as well as, the rice; which when I picked up with fork came up in stuck together lumps. For my family of three the order took about half hour. I was expecting very fresh well composed food, but it did not happen. The chips & salsa were plentiful & tasty!
(2)Whitney E.
When your friend from Mexico suggests you go to Los Bravos for good Mexican food, you go! Both times I've been I have ordered the Avocado Fajita.. I could just kiss the genius who decided to stick some cheese and chicken in half an avocado and then deep fry it. I did order it 'naked' (as the waiter called it) the second time.. basically all the deliciousness without being fried. Amazing. The margaritas are good, cheap and strong (they sneak up on you, careful!). Also, the chips are super fresh and warm when they bring them out! The staff is wonderful! Sweet and attentive. The decoration is minimal which helps to create a clean and comfortable atmosphere.
(5)Junhgoon P.
Most authentic Mexican restaurant in Georgia. I just came in to get quick snack and didn't expect too much. I thought it was just another tex-mex. I was pleasantly surprised. Their chip and salsa- warm and delicious! Couldn't stop eating despite all the calories. I got tacos del pastor and asada. Loved them!! I lived in Mexico for few years and gave up on finding a good real Mexican restaurant in the U.S. At last, i've found it!! Will definitely come back.
(5)Madison P.
Husband had steak fajitas and said it was really delicious. I know he enjoyed the salsa and chips because he ate the first round and when our waitress checked on us he wanted more. I had the fajitas with beef, chicken and shrimp. I didn't really enjoy mine because some of the vegetables were slightly burnt. I was so looking forward to the vegetables. So I ate some of them and the shrimp. I must say our waitress was very attentive and friendly. Even two other employees stopped by to check to see if everything was fine.

In town for a short vacation and wedding. Needed some lunch, preferably from somewhere that I can't get at home. Yelp'd and found this place. EXCELLENT Mexican food. Holy smokes. If come back again. Got the ground beef burrito. Beans came IN the burrito. Crazy. Sauce was excellent. Delicious.
(5)Dale H.
Food 4 Ambiance 3.5 Service 4 Price 4 = Would repeat Fajitas had good portions but could have been cooked a little bit more. Enchilada was lacking a kick. Chip's sauce was spicy and good. Ambiance was more like wannabe. Price was average.
(4)Jordan L.
By far the best Mexican in pooler. I have eaten Mexican from all over the country. This is some of the best food around. I had the pollo bravos. Omg, this chicken has such good flavors and is topped with tomato, mushroom, and onion. It reminds me of a chicken Marsala...Mexican style. The salsa verde is phenomenal. I'm hooked. Twice in week.
(5)Matt M.
First off, we had incredibly good service from the moment we entered. Multiple people came by to refill drinks, check on chips/salsa and ordering was not rushed or hurried. With a traveling family, service is half the battle in keeping a family happy. Lucky for us, the food was really tasty too. Our orders were: Steak Burritto - my son declared the steak the best he had tasted and the red sauce "amazing", which from a 17 year old is high praise. Fried Avocado Platter - a really unique dish and very flavorful. The platter was more than I could eat. Grilled Fajitas Burritto - my wife loved the grilled Burritto but did not like the red sauce (yes, the same one my son loved). Next time she said she would change from chicken to steak. Kids Quesadilla Fajitas - great dish for my 8 year old. Soft Tacos - two beef tacos filled my middle child up. For full disclosure, I have to say not everything was perfect. I really did not like the refried beans and would instead choose to get more rice instead. The rice was fluffy and flavorful while the beans just fell flat. This is a place worth visiting if you are tired of stopping for fast food on travels or great sit down place for locals.
(5)David M.
This place is lively and fun. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The menu is exciting and accommodating for lunch or dinners. Great bar. Very excellent food. A lot of fun.
(4)Jessica C.
My food was amazing I couldn't get enough! My margarita was decent. It came to the table at room temperature like it wasn't shaken or tumbled. I didn't complain because it was only 2.75. Our waitress wasn't very friendly but to the point. We did have 3 different people check on us. I think our waitress was at the end of her shift n transfered the table. I will go back for the good food n cheep margaritas... Overall I had a good experience.
(3)Susie M.
Visiting Savannah a coworker brought me to Los Bravos. Oh my goodness!!! The chips were warm, the salsa was delicious and had the perfect amount of heat for me. I ordered the Chicken Poblano Enchiladas. They were excellent!!! That sauce was delicious and now I craving it at home in Florida. My coworker frequents this place and the servers each stopped by to say Hi and check on us. Can't wait to go back to have some more.
(5)James S.
Been a few times now and enjoyed it every time. Good food friendly service.
(5)Herman W.
Good mexican & worth dropping off the interstate for. Salsa tasted fresh, food seemed inventive and good. Service was spot on. Wish they used a different mixer for margaritas, but that's a personal choice of mine- they weren't bad, just not my fav's. Most dishes seemed to feature slice meats rather than shredded or ground- I really liked that.
(4)Tom W.
My family enjoys quality Mexican food and Los Bravos fits the bill. It has a very authentic quality to it with both the service and food. The menu is somewhat the expected items, however there is more attention to the presentation and flavors. The staff is very friendly, and we found them an extra positive dimension to the experience. In my opinion, the best Mexican around.
(5)Steve M.
Went here on a Monday night around 8:00 PM upon the recommendation of other Yelp raters. I'm glad I did. My wife and kids were a little skeptical when we pulled up since the place doesn't reach out and grab you from the outside and there were only about 10 people in there when we arrived. However the service was excellent and very friendly and the food was some of the best Mexican food we've had. Very flavorful and fresh. Reasonably priced, excellent service, great food and good atmosphere. It's very open and the tables are far from each other which is nice. I highly recommend Los Bravos. Note that the location is about an 8th of a mile EAST of I-95 on the north side of Hwy 80 not west of I-95 as some maps show.
(5)Corey B.
Went here today for lunch and the food did not live up to the four star rating it has. It might have been due to the fact that it was extremely crowded, but that should not have taken away from the food quality!
(2)R G.
The chips were excellent! Salsa had a nice amount of heat and the queso dip was just what I've been looking for for about a decade (love that stuff)!! Entrées of Texana fajitas and the burrito Poblano were both good and very large. Service was a little slow but that was kind of expected due to a large party of about 20 taking up the center of the restaurant. Overall, it's the best Mexican food we've had in the area to date.
(4)Dale L.
We were two very weary travelers when we arrived, but we were soon treated to the best service we have ever had. From the chips and salsa, to the drinks and meals, the service was comparable to many fine restaurants in Philadelphia. In addition, the steamed seafood dish couldn't have been more delicious! Excellente in all regards - service, food and price. I hope you have many more anniversaries!
(4)Bill G.
Some of the best Mexican food we have eaten anywhere. Can't wait to go back. BG
(4)Melissa W.
Very friendly staff, real Mexican food, and the margaritas are better than jalapeños.
(5)Tonya W.
Best Mexican we've had in Savannah area. Yes, even tops the mega-mighty 'Penos. Great salsa, great entrees, friendly & attentive service. Even a visit from the owner at the end to make sure all was well.
(4)David A.
We stopped here for lunch before a movie. Poor service all around, and my right arm stuck to the sticky stuff on the table. Salsa tasted like it was fresh out of a jar. Couldn't order whole beans, and the waitress said that the refried beans were made with lard (ugh!). My wife did like the deep-fried avocado, but the flautas I had were almost burned to a crisp. Wouldn't go back.
(2)Brenda J.
What a great find. Good food very efficient and friendly staff. Had the burrito and chimichanga lunch combo. It was amazing. Great place for good Mexican.
(4)Rebekah B.
Their chips and salsa, drinks, food, and service were amazing! I highly recommend Los Bravos!
(5)Brian J.
Checked this place out based on the good reviews. IT LIVED UP TO THE HYPE! Great service starting with Pedro and constant attention from the rest of the staff. With two young children, eating out can be a little tough. Not here :) Highly recommend the Pollo Bravo or Fajitas Bravos. That sauce is soooo good! The chicken-stuffed avocado is also great. And they actually make fluffy real-deal sopapillas. If only they put honey on it instead of maple syrup...still really good though. Also, ask for the special green salsa...it's a combination of avocado, sour cream, cilantro, and a little jalapeño. This place has become our go-to on Sundays after church...it's never crowded, though I'm not sure why!
(5)Ned C.
Great! I had tacos al pastor and wife had a unique chicken chimichanga poblano. Both excellent. Great service. Very easy to stop off 95
(5)Kari H.
I had never heard of this place until my friend told me to meet her here for lunch. I love how open and airy the restaurant is inside. The staff was friendly and the service was quick. I tried the avocado fajita after seeing the mouth watering picture on yelp and I was not disappointed. It comes with a breaded avocado stuffed with cheese and meat (chicken or beef), a taco, rice, and beans. Yum!!! My only "complaint" was that the taco came with cheddar cheese on it instead of the normal white queso cheese that was in the stuffed avocado. I will be back!
(4)TarawaS2000 ..
My fiancée and I enjoyed our meals so much! The queso is amazing!! We opted for the small and it was smaller than we anticipated, so I'd recommend getting the large. Our meals had a small chicken quesadilla with them; one of the best I've ever had, I wish I would've gotten a large.
(5)Leah M.
Really good Mexican Food in the Pooler 31322 area. Salsa was great, service was great, always attentive, and the food was great. Much better than Jalepenos, which seems to be the local spot around here. Forget that, this place is Great! Much more authentic Mexican food, that doesn't taste like it came out of a jar/can. We'll be back for sure.
(4)Josh B.
Great food and great service. Decor is a little "cheap" it seems but the food is one of the best in Savannah.
(4)Laura R.
Service was great, waiters frequently made sure that we were ok with our food or if we needed anything else. Atmosphere was clean and nice. Food was also good. Recommend it
(4)Skip R.
Excellent! My wife had the carnitas bravas. It was very flavorful and tender. I had fajitas texano (shrimp, chicken, and beef) and it was pretty perfect. Both were huge - we could have split one dinner and still gone home with some leftovers.
(4)Veronica A.
Found this place thanks to recommendations on here, and I agree. The staff is friendly and incredibly knowledgable on the menu, I suggest you take their suggestions. The food is VERY fresh, so be prepared to wait a while for it.
(5)Henry H.
Run of the mill Mexican food, nothing spectacular. Service was ok but they forgot me for a bit. Rice and beans and ground beef tacos
(3)Harmony T.
Best Mexican restaurant ever. Great, creative food. Try the Pollo Bravo, it's very different and so good. We always stop here when driving 95 through Georgia. Plenty of parking and tables and the service is always friendly.
(5)Joe G.
Driving up from Miami, we were hungry and I decided to look for places to eat. We had just passed the exit for this restaurant and needless to say it was worth the U turn. Everything was amazing from the attentiveness of the staff and the food overall. I had the avocado fajita hands down amazing, you can't go wrong with that and the queso dip as well. If I ever roll through Georgia again i'm definitely making a stop there.
(5)Blanca I.
Delicious homemade Mexican food!
(5)Jennifer R.
Love the staff. Always friendly. My Favorite dish is the fajita los bravos. It is a chicken fajita with mushrooms. Ask for the green salsa if you like avocados. It is the "secret" salsa.
(5)Terri A.
Fantastic service great food great music friendly thoughtful staff. Lived the avocado fajita, and being called señorita i will be often
(4)Whit D.
Isnt what everybody makes it out to be. Had to instruct the waitress on how to make a Long Island Iced Tea because she actually made it with sweet tea the first time. The food was okay...nothing special. The receipt doesnt have a description of what you are charged for...our receipt had about 5 dollars in extra charges...not much but its the principle. Not recommended. There are much better places in Pooler to go to.
(1)Mike B.
Cold Dos Equis on Tap, Great service, AUTHENTIC Mexican food. You can measure a Mexican restaurant if they have Carnitas and Tacos al Pastor. They have both and they are excellent. Very friendly.
(5)Skip L.
This restaurant opened recently in the old location of Dizzy Deans on Highway 80 just a bit east of I-95. My first impression was that it had fairly nondescript decor. I'm not sure what it looked like as Dizzy Dean's, but it looks like they might have just added a few items to give it a bit of a Mexican "feel." The layout of the room was very open, so if you hate going to restaurants where the tables are practically on top of each other you will be very pleased. As per usual for Mexican restaurants they brought out chips and salsa at the start- the chips were average, and the salsa while not very chunky did have some heat to it. I tried one of their frozen margaritas, which was good and definitely not lacking in alcohol content. For my entree I had one of my go-to favorites for Mexican restaurants, enchiladas verdes. It was quite good, with grilled chicken that had a nice flavor. It seems like a lot of their dishes may come with rice and beans by default, and knowing that now I think I would sub in more rice in place the beans (I'm not a huge fan of re-fried beans). My spouse had a poblano chimichanga and liked it quite a bit. The service was good, and all in all we were pretty impressed with this restaurant.
(4)Patty T.
We have eaten here about 6 times now. Absolutely the BEST Mexican restaurant in the greater Savannah and Pooler areas. Would HIGHLY recommend. You will not be disappointed.
