I've always loved coming to this restaurant for breakfast! The biscuits and breakfast plates are wonderful and the sweet tea is amazing! It a little run down but considering the fact the building has been here for 20 + odd years I don't mind it that much, I normally always go through the drive thru anyways!

Location is a bit shabby.Place is too plain.Employees are trained by the post office. But my almost 15 year old grandson who is 6feet tall said the chicken biscuit was almost as good as chick-fil-a and had 2 of them.I had the egg and cheese biscuit. Not easy to get as good egg as this one was..The biscuit was definetly superior to anything i have had recently. However, nothing was hot enough.Should have asked to have it warmed. Will absolutely go back when grandson plays tennis at Hudlow. Great place to go on sunday when cfa is closed and you are jonesing for a fried chicken biscuit. Will try the biscuit egg and grits plate for1.98 next time.

Absolutely fantastic homemade biscuits. This is an all day breakfast place specializing in biscuits. The biscuits are light and fluffy. Excellent. Not 5 star restaurant quality. But great for what it is.
(5)Rashida C.
Good and cheap breakfast! They have great huge biscuits that are soft & fluffy goodness in your mouth. I've had their breakfast plate and their chicken biscuit which is surprisingly delicious. Yes, the interior is not appealing dirty floors, the grease buildup on the oven and walls is an eyesore. But despite that they serve a good cheap breakfast. Nothing spectacular in regards to customer service they smiled and acted like we weren't pests begging for food so that's good to me. All in all I love their breakfast I rate them 4 stars because of the cleaniless is not up to par.

The people who work there are almost as greasy as the food. This place is just plain nasty. I've been here many times as my job is right around the corner. The biscuits are so greasy that it hurts to choke them down. The chicken for the chicken biscuit is pretty tasty, but only if you get it fresh and after they've changed the oil in the fryer. Good luck on that one, however. The lady on the grill seems like a pretty solid worker, but the people up front horseplay to much. I personally like to have fun at work, but do so only after the customer is helped. I have not been there for about 2 months now, and have no plans to ever return. I mean, how do you mess up cheese grits?Martins has somehow figured out how, because they do it every time. Any true, self respecting Southerner will view this as an unforgivable sin, as have I. That was the final straw. I have no intention to ever give Martins another dime of my busine$$.

The overall rating applies specifically to just two items on the menu, the chicken biscuit and the sausage gravy biscuit which like other reviewers also note is one of the best in Atlanta or even the south. The other menu items seem to be basic drive thru fair with minimal focus on quality like the above two menu items I mentioned which are excellent. I have been visiting the Martin's on JCB off and on since 1990. Like other reviewers also note this location is a bit run down and leans towards the dirty side inside and out. I only use the drive thru so I don't have to see what is going on in the kitchen or I may not be able to return. The adjoining businesses also don't seem to care about the appearance or curb appeal of their businesses; so there's that. I hope this business is able to weather the next few years and hopefully turn it around. At one time they were on track to become an Atlanta institution but they don't seem to have their eyes on maintaining market share or even expansion so I'm not sure if it will.

Yes, the breakfast is pretty good. I am a fan of the smoked sauge link egg and cheese biscuit. Tasty, flaky, buttery, with a plump link that squirts in your mouth when you bite it. Very filling though...if you get a large biscuit you will need a nap. Go small if you're headed to work. Super cheap too...bonus! I haven't tried lunch yet. Ivr been ther twice and got the same thing.
(4)Regina P.
They have the best breakfast sandwiches ever... they are huge. The chicken sandwich tastes awesome and is good enough to give chick fil a run for their money. The steak sandwich - OhMyGod - heaven in the form of food. It's so greasy, but it's worth every ounce!
(5)Rebecca O.
Let's be real, their biscuits are the shit. And it's wayyyy cheap! In college, we used to stay up until 5 am, get biscuits here, and then go to sleep. That's some Martin's biscuit love right there! The service...meh, not so much. At any location.
(4)Lee M.
Martin's has THE best biscuits in the capitol of biscuit country, Atlanta. The drive-through line wrapped around the building and out onto Jimmy Carter at 6:30 AM (literally) tells you all you need to know. The biscuits themselves are fluffy, buttery, and moist. The slight sharpness of buttermilk is noticeable, but not distracting. They come in two sizes, small and large. Don't be fooled, "small" is the size of every other fast food biscuit. The large is the size of a decent burger bun. Either size is overstuffed with your choice of fillings. Any of the meat, egg, and cheese biscuits are outrageous. The breakfast meats are all remarkably powerful. What I mean by that is; the bacon is the smokiest, saltiest, bacon-iest, bacon I've ever had. It plays very well on a biscuit where a lesser bacon might be overwhelmed. Likewise, the sausage is spicy and meaty, shining through the egg, cheese and biscuit. The eggs are the best you'll find at a fast-food restaurant. They are clearly made from fresh, real, eggs and scrambled. They taste like butter. 100x better than the rubber "egg" patty of most other fast food breakfasts. The cheese is good ol' American. The combination... Oh. My. Lord. The fried chicken biscuit is easily the equal of the place that's closed on Sundays. They offer a grilled chicken as well, but why? They also have country fried steak (just called steak on the menu) and fried pork tenderloin, both excellent. Hashbrowns and grits are available as sides. The hashbrowns are clones of McDonalds. Most of the time they are crispy. The grits are good, creamy and buttery. Cheese grits add a slice of cheese into the container, it never seems to quite melt and mix in all the way. They also have lunch, it is pretty good for fast food. The food quality is similar to the Varsity. The fries and onion rings are especially good. The bacon cheeseburger is solid. But, they serve breakfast until close to closing. The biscuits are better. The prices are awesome for what you get. Once every couple of years (as far away from my next cholesterol check as possible), I go to Martin's and I order a large steak biscuit and a side of sausage gravy. The gravy goes on top of the biscuit. You want to try this, I promise. I strongly considered awarding Martin's 5 stars, the food alone is certainly worthy, but there are a few issues (particularly with this location) that hold them back. The coffee is very very strong and hot. Perfect for a construction worker at 5 AM. But it gives me a stomach ache. The service is usually fast, but not always friendly. Unlike most fast food chains that build each location new, Martin's tend to be opened in existing buildings, so they trend towards run-down. But most people hit the drive through, so this is not a huge issue. The parking lot and street access at this location suck, there' no other way to put it. Other reviewers have noted the dining room can be a little dirty at times. Martin's hearty food and good prices draw in the blue collar working crowd (yours truly included), so expect muddy boot tracks on the floor and spilled coffee on the table. It's part of the charm.

Good stuff. It does what it's supposed to do!! Yeah, pretty greasy and you probably should never eat there daily! You probably shouldn't even look at it too hard on a daily basis, but for $2 did you think a fried chicken sandwich on an in-house made biscuit was NOT going to contain a little lard?? Do we think they're organic?? I hope not, so give the stars they deserve! I'm definitely going back, maybe in a month or three...give the arteries a chance to recoup...
(4)John M.
If you like greasy food for lunch, this is the place. If you like breakfast for lunch or dinner, this place is even better. As for the grease, it's pretty much everywhere.
(2)Kofo S.
The first time I visited I wanted to dare to be different and try the lunch. Yes, I came to an establishment praised for their biscuits and ordered a burger. I ordered the Deluxe Burger Combo with Cheese which is served with Onion Rings or Fries and a Beverage. Let's say I'm not a fan of their lunch. But baby when I returned and tried the breakfast....honey I felt as if I had been delivered. As other posters have mentioned, if you want a chicken biscuit done right, skip CFA and head over to Martin's. The biscuit is so buttery and flaky and doesn't have that salty mechanical taste other fast food biscuits have. I have had to put myself on restriction from visiting again because Martin's is helping me suceed in my Operation Summer Time Fine!
(4)J B.
I absolutely love Martin's. I have eaten there probably at least 10 times and they never let me down. They have huge breakfast sandwiches and the staff is super friendly. I remember 1 time I went there and I ordered one of their breakfast plates with a side of bacon and the cashier told me a better option where I would get the same thing, but it would cost less. Also, I hate gravy, always have, but I absolutely love Martin's sausage gravy!!!! So delicious!! Oh, and their biscuits are to die for, seriously. It is hard for me to eat breakfast anywhere else now because I love Martin's. I might have a slight addiction lol.
(5)Kelly B.
I love this place! Fortunately I work just up the street from Martin's, so several times a week we make a stop there for breakfast. Two can easily have a great breakfast for less than you would pay at McDonald's or any other place. The biscuits are the BEST in Atlanta, hands down. It's a cheap place to get good food - what more could you ask for?
(5)J B.
Humm... I wasn't much impressed. Both my sandwich and hash brown were soaked in grease. Don't feel the need to return.
(2)Alex C.
Nice and cheap food. It'll be greasy, but the prices are so low you really can't complain. Service is average but you get your food quick.
(3)Jennifer B.
After a night of drinking; Martin's was a GREAT decision. Big fluffy biscuits with scrambled soft eggs, covered in cheese and a side of greasy hashbrowns (lol)...? Yes, I know that last part leaves lots to be desired, but just grab your little napkin, soak up that excess, slab some ketchup on them and go to town. I really feel like you get your monies worth at this little dive. This place is full of a spirited staff and did I mention the biscuits? Yum...Thanks to my Dunwoody group for introducing me to this gem.
(4)Blaq R.
Steak, egg and cheese..Simply ridiculous good!!! I want to say they have a strong competition with Steak and Shake
(5)Sarah S.
Chicken gravy biscuits. That's what life is all about. I've never tried anything else off their menu, so I can't comment about the grease. But if you where to try this place for your first time I would HIGHLY suggest chicken gravy biscuits. Then you would be set for life!
(5)Richard R.
THIS REVIEW IS STRICTLY FOR THE STEAK, EGG & CHEESE BREAKFAST BISCUIT!!! I can't be more enthusiastic about this place. Been coming here for years and it has become a tradition for our family to stop here for breakfast before a long road trip. Their large biscuits will have you full for hours!!! My wife always gets the egg/cheese, kids love the chicken or sausage biscuit... but the REAL PRIZE, the MVP of the team is the Cubed Steak biscuit with egg and cheese!!! I LOVE this sandwich. The eggs are cooked soft, the biscuit is large, but not huge (I hate to have more bread than meat) and it's buttery. And the steak is well seasoned, I mean well enough to taste the love it was cooked with!!! I will admit in my years of coming here, the seasoning has been off on occasion (and once or twice the eggs)... but those times were few and far in between. MOST of the time they nail it and I don't think there is a better steak biscuit in the state when they do! One thing I don't like is their hash brown because they are the typical square frozen variety that seem to soak up the grease from the frier. So we always order french fries instead (they seem to be hand cut since they still have the skin on the ends). If you are there for breakfast, the fries are cooked to order, so they are guaranteed to be hot!!! I don't typically drink Dr. Pepper, but for some reason it washes the combo above down sooo well I ONLY order it here. I've never had anything else on the menu... but then again I don't really see a reason too!!! Did I mention how much I LOVE the Steak, Egg and Cheese biscuits here?
(5)Christina K.
Oh Martin's how I have missed you so! This place has awesome chicken biscuits. Like seriously, Chick-fil-a ain't got nothing on these folks. The only draw back is that I don't live close enough anymore for my morning fix and that they close at 3 p.m. The drive thru lines are usually wrapped around the building which can be a bummer at times, but the service is usually pretty fast. Your choices of biscuits ranges from sausage, chicken breast (grilled or fried) as well as bacon, etc. and all come with a "large" option which is pretty huge. The service can be pretty spottty at times, but this is like a fast food Waffle House so the bar is not really that high. When I went on Saturday morning, the girl rang me up incorrectly and added an extra large chicken biscuit to my order but forgot to ring me up for my orange juice. Speaking of OJ's, be warned, they put ice chips in your OJ which SO loves, but I don't. The parking as well as the exit, entrance can pose a problem as a lot of contractors and their large trucks seem to love Martins so be careful of navigating the parking lot and not get in their way when they back up!
(4)Michael P.
Must go place anytime I'm close by. Biscuits are the only thing I ever get. They serve lunch too, but have never had the courage to stray away from the biscuits. Best I've ever had. Better than momma's ;-)
(5)John H.
Just moved to GA from MA and co-workers told me I had to try the breakfast biscuits at Martin's... ended up there this afternoon and decided for lunch instead and got a very tasty chili dog and an incredibly tasty bacon cheeseburger. Used the drive-through window and it actually took a couple of minutes to get the order, so that was odd.... but that's happened at all of the national chains at least once as well. Turns out it was worth the wait! I am going to have to go back and see if it was a fluke, or if I was starving, or if that bacon cheeseburger really was as good as I remember it.... I love cheeseburgers, and this was a good one!
(4)Pete C.
I expected a LOT more from this place! After hearing a friend talk about all this stuff with gravy, I was drooling all the way there! Walking in, the place is in serious need of a good scrub down! It's not too entirely bad, considering it's a fast food joint. The food... *sigh* The eggs taste like powdered eggs with too much water added. The Country Ham wasn't a thick cut of smoked ham, but a couple of thin-sliced ham, battered and fried. The hashbrown was just like McD. The biscuits were good... large, soft, and buttery. The sweet tea is also very good. I really wanted to like this place, and drive by it all the time!! But alas... it wasn't meant to be. Just because I didn't like it, doesn't mean you won't. But please don't go in with high expectations of a JR's or even Boulevard Diner.
(2)Dennis C.
How do you get a fresh southern breakfast at fast food speed. You go to martins. My favorite breakfast spot in georgia
(5)Timothy T.
Food is good, cheap and service is great. The only downside is they stop serving at 4pm. I would definitely check this place out if you're passing by and need some breakfast.
(4)Josh A.
Don't let the three stars fool you. I am a fan of this place, but I did not have their food at their freshest (my fault). A wonderful co-worker of mine brought in a steak, egg, and cheese biscuit for my team this morning, out of the kindness of her heart. Upon opening the wrapper, the first thing I noticed was this was a big biscuit! The biscuit itself not overpowering, but the steak, egg, and cheese hanging over the sides of the biscuit, just begging to be eaten. And that's what I did. I ate all of that sucker. And even though I was full, I wanted another... and another... The reason for the three stars instead of the four stars that it may deserve is that the biscuit was in transport and was not at it's ideal temp when I ate it. Of course, this is not the poor biscuits fault; however, I cannot make a truly informed decision so three stars it is. If I ever stumble upon a Martin's, I will be sure to stop in and taste the goodness in it's peak.
(3)Jabari M.
Where have you been my whole life Martin's?!!! I have been casually passing by Martin's for quite some time, not this one per se. There is one located in Jonesboro that is close to where I used to reside. I would always see a long line and the parking lot would always be packed, (Imagine 75N during rush hour). To my disbelief this one was swamped full of people. There were about fourteen cars in the drive thru line and no I am not exaggerating. I believe I waited for about 3 minutes until it was my time at the intercom to put in my order. 3 minutes!!!! Talk about great customer service! The entire menu is a comfort food smorgasbord and everything is available all day. It includes breakfast and lunch items. I couldn't make up my mind so I decided to get a little bit of both. They have all of your obvious breakfast options including grits, ham, sausage, bacon, and hashbrowns but what caught my attention was the pork tenderloin. I am a sucker for a good meal and something I haven't experienced before. I had never seen a pork tenderloin and egg biscuit let alone tasted one before so I opted for that along with a Chili dog. The pork tenderloin was soooooo tender, the biscuit was super fluffy, and the egg was fresh. My only caveat was the fact that there was a small piece of egg shell which I looked at as a positive somewhat since I know they were "real". The chili dog was not mind blowing but it was good nonetheless. Fast service, great prices and tastes awesome. So nice I may do it twice.
(4)Sungjae J.
I drove past this place for more 15yrs and never have tried them. I recently got to try their chicken egg and bacon biscuit and it is by far one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have had so far. Their hashbrowns are good but on the greasy side so I usually just get the chicken biscuit and orange juice. I have tried other items on the menu and was not overly impressed.. awesome biscuits
(4)Sandy W.
Love the steak biscuit and grits. Rating is for the food only, the restaurant could use a lot of cleaning. Have only been here for breakfast and to be honest I have no intention on trying the lunch menu.
(5)Dawit B.
Greasy greasy, the buscuts are great, what they put in them well sometimes good sometimes not, wont lie you can definatly do better.
(3)Birju P.
The hash brown and biscuit are lardy/greasy. The browns are packaged from the warehouse, but the biscuits seem to be made in house. The staff is friendly and welcoming as are the customers who seem to be regulars. The best biscuits in Atlanta are at South City Kitchen. Don't let anybody tell you different.
(1)Natalie W.
I drove 10 exits south on 85 to get a sausage biscuit, hashbrowns, and sausage gravy. So worth driving south on 85 into a a less than pleasant area of town. The lady at the window was very nice too! I'm glad this is not close to my house or I would gain 48383 lbs and won't care.
(5)Elizabeth A.
I am giving 2 stars to Martin's because the extra star is for the food, which is pretty good for the price. But why oh why can't the management keep the place clean? I was there today (3-26-14 about 11 a.m.) and there was one man trying to sweep up outside and inside. Thank you for that, whoever you are. You deserve much more help than you are getting. There was food and trash all over the floor and grease and grime on the tables. I went into the restroom - big mistake as there is some kind of black mold / mildew / crud built up in the corners and cracks. And the employees were standing around laughing and talking and doing a lot of not much at all. Please, owners of Martin's, have the place thoroughly cleaned by professionals. Then instruct your employees on how to keep it clean. I don't think I can bring myself to go back to Martin's for a long while. There are too many other places out there that believe in cleanliness. They will get my business.
(2)Jason C.
The best sausage egg and cheese biscuit in Atlanta. You can't get a better breakfast for $3.06
(5)Cristi H.
This place has the BEST biscuits I have ever had! I was a little hesitant at first, because of the location, but I was very impressed.
(5)Von S.
Steak egg & cheese bisquit with an order of fries! It was alright-- the rating on the window is what turned me off-- i prolly wont return !
(3)Wayne S.
Don't go into a restaurant engrossed in a conversation. The things you miss! My friend and I went here early Saturday morning on recommendation from one of her customers. Since they serve breakfast and lunch all day, I ordered breakfast food and the friend ordered lunch. We both like those kinds of foods at all hours anyway, so this isn't unusual. My breakfast was ok. The sausage quality was below that of McD's and BK. The biscuit was fresh and tasty (that's the one star). Her lunch was a cheeseburger with fries. The fries were fresh and ok. Nothing great, nothing bad. The burger, well, she should have looked AT the burger before she bit into it. After that spit-into-the-napkin bite, she looked at the burger. It looked like it had been sitting in a warming tray for days and there was no cheese. It was then that conversation ended and we started looking at the restaurant. The chairs were filthy, especially the legs. Where food is picked up and napkins, plastic forks, etc are stored, the counter was filthy. There is a sign near the register, where food isn't handed over, that is at least 5 feet from the ground and 2 feet above the counter, that is filthy with what looks like dried coffee splashes. Didn't notice that sign when I was ordering. My friend is going to give her customer an earful and none of it good. She and I will stop talking before we enter any restaurant from now on.

Just as good as any other in town. I was not let down at all. Martins have perfected the breakfast.

Greasy greasy, the buscuts are great, what they put in them well sometimes good sometimes not, wont lie you can definatly do better.

They have the best breakfast sandwiches ever... they are huge. The chicken sandwich tastes awesome and is good enough to give chick fil a run for their money. The steak sandwich - OhMyGod - heaven in the form of food. It's so greasy, but it's worth every ounce!

Let's be real, their biscuits are the shit. And it's wayyyy cheap! In college, we used to stay up until 5 am, get biscuits here, and then go to sleep. That's some Martin's biscuit love right there! The service...meh, not so much. At any location.

Steak, egg and cheese..Simply ridiculous good!!! I want to say they have a strong competition with Steak and Shake

Steak egg & cheese bisquit with an order of fries! It was alright-- the rating on the window is what turned me off-- i prolly wont return !

The best sausage egg and cheese biscuit in Atlanta. You can't get a better breakfast for $3.06

This place has the BEST biscuits I have ever had! I was a little hesitant at first, because of the location, but I was very impressed.

(4)Katie Z.
I've always loved coming to this restaurant for breakfast! The biscuits and breakfast plates are wonderful and the sweet tea is amazing! It a little run down but considering the fact the building has been here for 20 + odd years I don't mind it that much, I normally always go through the drive thru anyways!
