I cannot get enough of this spot. I go as often as I can. I always intend to try something new, but always, always succumb to the thali as soon as I see the buffet. My favorites are the chicken tikka, the eggplant curry, and the ground chicken curry. But honestly, everything I have had here has been a win. The veggies are particularly incredible. Wonderful service - super-friendly and helpful and patient with suggestions. Casual atmosphere. Great price.

Curry On The Go, formerly Curry In A Hurry, is an Indian restaurant located inside Norcross' Global Mall food court. Unlike the other restaurants, which have traditional stalls along the perimeter of the food court, Curry On The Go has its own glass-enclosed space. Even though this restaurant is separated from the others, you're still free to take trays of food from here and eat it outside in the food court dining area. This place also differs from the other Indian restaurants at the food court because it has a small deli/cafeteria-like glass display case filled with hot foods ready to go (hence "Curry On The Go"). Whether you're dining in or taking out, this is the fastest option at the food court because the foods are already cooked. Just tell the server (or point at) the foods you want and they are plated or packaged in to-go boxes for immediate consumption. It's nice to be able to see exactly what options are available before ordering. If you want to order something different, there are helpful, colorful picture menus located inside and outside the restaurant. This place is a good value as most meals are priced under $9 each. Great deals can be had at lunchtime, available even on weekends. They are: $4.99 lunch special - 2 vegetables, 1 dal, rice, and naan $5.99 lunch special - 1 meat, 1 vegetable, rice, and naan Dishes include biryani rice dishes (made with basmati rice), wraps and rolls made from traditional Indian dishes (e.g. chicken tikka masala roll, tandoori chicken roll), assorted fish, chicken, and goat entrees, and tasty snacks like samosa pastries (fried), pakora fritters, and haleem stew. All food is halal. I've tried a variety of foods here, mainly vegetable dishes. They include: Bhindi masala - okra sauteed with onions and tomatoes Palak paneer - pureed creamed spinach made with cheese Butter chicken - made with a tomato gravy Dal - lentil soup Aloo gobi - potatoes and cauliflower Chana masala - chickpeas I described the main ingredients in the above dishes, but they are prepared with much more -- a variety of different ingredients and spices (e.g. cilantro, coriander seeds, garlic, chili, lemon, garam masala). Everything is quite flavorful. Some dishes are aromatic and/or spicy, but not excessively so. In general, the dishes range from OK to good. I particularly like the bhindi masala. The okra is sliced into several small pieces and they are just soft and delicious. The palak paneer, one of my favorite Indian dishes, is good. It's a little soupy, but that's what the rice and naan are for. I'm not a big fan of Curry On The Go's version of butter chicken. There's too much tomato flavor for me and I think the quality of the meat could be better. The chicken is served boneless. The dal, aloo gobi, and chana masala aren't bad. The dal is a hearty and comforting soup/stew. The aloo gobi brings the heat. A little intense. The chana masala is pasty and filling, to be expected of garbanzo beans. OK flavor. The highlights for me and essential to the meals are the rice and naan. The plain rice is a white basmati rice. It's soft and fluffy. It's excellent with almost any of the meats and vegetables. The naan flatbread is baked fresh. It, too, is soft and goes great with many of the dishes. Use it to to sop up the last remnants of curry, sauce, or gravy. It's also quite tasty on its own. The mango lassi is fantastic. It's a yogurt-based drink made with mango and sugar. It's sweet, rich, and refreshing. It's not too thick, which I like. I highly recommend ordering one. It provides a nice contrast to the savory and spicy dishes. Service is great. The business is run by Rina and Runa. They'll greet you with a smile and will answer any questions you may have. All food and drink is served on/in disposable plates/containers. Plastic silverware, napkins, and tap water are self-serve. Refrigerated bottles of Dasani, soda, and fruit drinks are available too. If you want tap water, there's a bottle sitting next to the cash register, next to a stack of Styrofoam cups. Overall, Curry On The Go is a good source for tasty Indian food, served quick, and is a solid value.

I went with a group of foodies to the Global Mall Food Court to sample some South Asian cuisine. I wandered into Curry On The Go - one of the 4 open vendor stalls serving Monday night - and I should have trusted my first impression and gotten out of there. The food was being served out of heated aluminum serving pans from behind the counter and looked as if it might have been left over from that day's lunch service. But I'm a pushover for goat and when I see it I just gotsta' have it. Sad to say but that goat was baaaaahhhhhhhhhhddddddd. Ladled into a little Styrofoam cup (for $8.99!?!?!), when I started picking through it there were more hard shards of bone than tender pieces of goat. It came with a plate of white rice, which was quite nice, and I ordered a side of naan to sop up the spicy juices. The juice was thin and watery, though not without a tasty flavor. The naan was fine. But I just couldn't get past the paucity of protein in that cup; especially given the exorbitant price. I did share some delicious food with my friends who ordered from the other food court vendors. One, which will bring me again back to the Global Mall Food Court, is Chinese Dhaba. Their motto - "Chinese food, Indian twist," a pretty cool fusion concept. An expansive sauce-oriented menu, I liked what I tasted and I think I will give it a greater chance. I will report back later what I order!

"a charitable 3-stars..." Another yelper pointed out she felt like the place "doesn't feel clean" ... and i can echo that sentiment. It's ok, but the space is showing its age and could really use some spiffing up ... That said, the food is "o.k." but seems a bit pricey for serving size. I noticed the Curry in a Hurry stall out of the corner of my eye when visiting this food court a few weeks ago. I should have stopped at Curry in a Hurry because my experience trying out another vendor in this court was awful. I decided to return early this evening to pickup a couple of dinner items... Curry in a Hurry has a steam table (of sorts) with several dishes you can choose from. There appears to be a menu you can order from as well but I did not see anything along the line of a printed menu pamphlet. I chose the chicken tikka masala and an okra vegetable dish with nann rather than rice, to go... the total for just two small (presumably one cup) servings was $10.41, and then there was ubiquitous line to add a tip. A pricey affair for such a small dinner. The hot food was placed in styrofoam containers (see photos) and the mann is wrapped in foil. The naan was very fresh and fluffy. The chicken tikka masala was alright. It had a much denser flavor and was darker than a lot of the tikkas I have had in the past. The okra dish was fine but not memorable enough to finish the whole serving... kind of blah imho. The women serving in the front were friendly enough and I noticed two workers in the back kitchen.

Went here on Saturday for a UYE. I didn't have the time that day to shop in all the cool looking stores, but will be back to do that ! There were maybe 5 restaurants in their food court. Our hostess, Vi, suggested that we check out the special at the Curry in a Hurry. $5.99, 1 meat, 2 veggies, rice & naan bread....AH YEAH!! That sounds perfect!! Only bummer about my review will be that I have no idea what anything is officially called, server described what was behind the glass, I pointed, and got some good eats! Cafeteria style. Spicy Chicken: YUM! Would get it again. There wasn't tons of chicken in my serving, but enough. I used the naan bread to soak up the yummy broth/stew....mmmmmm.....makes me hungry thinking about it! Cauliflower/Broccoli/Potato/Greens Mixed Veggies in a curry type of sauce, it was very good. Ok, now, I have no clue what this other veggie dish was called, but it was basically greens with a yellow bean, in a veggie type of broth, that was tinted yellow from the beans...YUM! I will come back here soon!! For lunch, and some shopping!!

Amazing food that is always on point. Not only is all the food reasonably priced and its delicious, they also have the best service. Runna who works there is so sweet and always goes the extra mile. Not only is this the best Indian food in the Global Mall, its the best Indian food I've had in Atlanta so far. I can't get enough of it!
Some of the food selections are really good. The alo porota is good. However not a big fan of the dishes the have on display. I do go here once in a while when I am in the mood for chotpoti or other Bengali/Indian food. Just need to fix the menues up a bit. The only con is they sometimes don't have things that are written on the menus.

I tried this place on the recommendation of a co-worker who knows that I live somewhat close to The Global Mall in Norcross. He suggested I try CIAH because he knows I really like Bangladeshi food (similar to Indian but with more meat choices). Normally I would go to Panahar on Buford highway (on a Saturday or Sunday) during their lunch hour when the have the buffet in place for 9 to 10 bucks; however, on this particular / recent Saturday I decided to try something a little different. I tried one of Curry in a Hurry's lunch special rolls / wraps with fries for 7 bucks. A drink is $1 extra. I think the name of the roll I got was Chicken Katakat. The bread on the roll is their fantastic Indian nan bread. Their roll is similar to a Greek gyro wrap. My friend had also informed me the rolls are very tasty and filling; he was right about that. My only complaint is that the food preparation took a long time (so perhaps the name should be changed to "Curry not so much in a Hurry"). I think I sat there, in their dining area, twiddling my thumbs for about 10-15 minutes before I finally got my food. Perhaps I should have ordered something else that would have been quickly dispensed or prepared quickly (as there were many pre-made, ready-to-eat Indian dishes or curries in their deli case). One thing that I saw that really liked was that there were many Indian / Desi folks eating here (dining in and getting takeout) - always a good sign. I enjoyed the food that I got from Curry in a Hurry; however, I am not sure I would go again so soon because Panahar is closer to where I live. Plus, I know when I get to Panahar I can start eating from their buffet right away. Sure Panahar is slightly more expensive; however, when you factor in gasoline prices you probably end up paying about the same amount with the trip up I-85 and back. Perhaps CIAH really deserves 3.5 stars but on this visit I will dispense with 4.

It cas decent and the food we ordered was made to order so we waited a little while. The food was just ok.... we did only get red chicken, which was decent but smaller pieces I was used to getting from an indian food restuarant. No chicken somosas so we settled for veggie. It was ok.

Curry in a Hurry is always a great choice when I'm in the mood for some Indian food. It's inside global mall off exit 99 on I-85. Global mall includes many authentic Indian stores and merchandise from groceries, cricket gear, jewelry, and more! There's also an assortment of Indian services. You know this place is genuine because it is always crowded with Indian people which is a great sign to know you are getting the most authentic Indian food/merchandise/services! I've tried the chicken curry and tandoori chicken multiple times and they are always very consistent and good. The portions are great for the price. I always find asking for the food in a to go box you get more rice/curry. Meals are anywhere from $6-$12 range.

This place was pretty good and cheap but doesn't feel clean. Only giving it three stars b/c of the service. The woman was kinda strange...she kept staring at me. But I would probably come back! Got the butter chicken w/rice and naan. The Butter Chicken was great but the naan was a bit doughy.

When I'm in the mood for Indian food and in Norcross Global Mall is a win win. Not only do they sell Indian clothing, CD/DVD, Cricket and furniture , but they also have Indian food made for Indian people. I originally went to Curry In A Hurry because Ashiana was closed in between their lunch and dinner service. We went to the food court and there it was "Curry To Go" (yes they have two names, I don't know why). I ordered the Meat Thali which consisted of two chicken dishes, 1 veg, naan and rice. At first I was a little disappointed by the serving size and said to my wife "this is it, I really wanted buffet, I'm so hungry". I was totally wrong. I cleaned that plate off and was stuffed, couldn't fit another bite. I also had the just right amount of sweat on my forehead. The food was excellent and cheap, only $6.99 for the meat thali. Ok, the decor is pretty basic, nothing fancy about this place. Plastic cutlery, Styrofoam bowls and a cafeteria style tray. But the food makes up for the lack of effort made on the interior. I was a little bummed to discover this place the day that I quit my job in Norcross, but I'm sure I'll make the trip again.

Restaurant did not open for an hour and a half after their scheduled opening time. When informed we were told that their food is good so really they do not care what time they open and loosing a customer is not a big deal because there are many more out there.

I have never had Indian food before this place. I was kind of weary to ry it bacuse the smell was not what I was use to. But the lady behind the counter was friendly and gave us samples. I chose the lamb curry and loved the heat that it has. I also fell in love with naan. It is also nice to look at all the clothing shops after I eat.:-)

Flies. Lots and lots of flies. Outside of a portable toilet, I'd never seen so many flies congregated in one place in all my life. The air inside the food court was so densely packed with mating flies that I half expected maggots to rain down on me in biblical fashion; I dared not open my mouth for fear of flies swarming in there and crashing into the back of my throat, causing me to choke and pass out on the grungiest floor not inside a porno theater. It's hard to believe that this pestilential dungeon hasn't been condemned by the health department (I didn't spot a single health inspection sheet at any of the stalls). Once I got over the filth of this indoor Varanasi I made my way to "Curry in a Hurry" to sample the goods, as I'm a fan of curries, only to be confronted with a non-functioning deli-style refrigerator displaying what at first glance appeared to be left over entrails from a Lucio Fulci film, but in fact turned out to be chicken tenderloins in ochre-colored curry sauce. At least that's what the surly owner behind the counter assured me it was. Feeling a bit dizzy, owing to the flies breathing my precious air, I lurched out of there and found myself at a stall serving some kind of unholy hybrid of Chinese and Indian cuisine in grimy styrofoam boxes. I think the other patrons began to notice my distress at this point because a kindly Indian lady wrapped in a sari directed me to a stall that served some of the best flatbreads I'd ever had, which I washed down with lukewarm water from the most disgusting water cooler I'd ever seen. Somewhat sated, I left the building and headed to my car, carrying with me memories in the form of larvae gestating in my belly. David Cronenberg, you have yourself a sequel.

India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind. The ever-increasing fan base of Indian food around the New York city is steadily increasing because of the large number of Indians who traveled to the land of dreams. The Indians also brought their very own vibrant, colorful, and aromatic authentic dishes for the people in the West. While most of the Indian population is Vegetarian, Indian food is great for people who are looking for vegan or vegetarian food option. If you are a Meat lover, don't get disappointed yet. Indian food also boasts of some popular non-vegetarian dishes too. Few examples are the famous Butter Chicken, Mutton Biryani and Tandoori Chicken are enough to satisfy your taste buds.
Indian food has gained reputation all over the world especially in the United States. You can find many places serving the appetizing Indian food across all major cities in the US. India is a diverse country with different food culture originated from different parts of the country. While the Northern region boasts tandoori dishes and korma offering royal taste, the Western Ghats offers sea foods that is made in naturally sweet tender coconut milk. The South Indian food servers a quality of different dishes made from rice accompanied with spicy chutneys, curries and famous sambhar. Also, the Indian sweets are a delight to relish. If you ever want to have a burst of sugar syrup in mouth, don't forget to try few Bengali Sweets. Be it spicy, tangy, or sweet flavor, you can find everything in the Indian cuisine. Be assured that the melody of spices will surely bring delight to you.

Curry in a hurry is an Indian fast food eatery located inside the Global Mall in the food court. My parents visit the shops in the Global frequently, so I have met them there and had lunch on a few occasions. I disagree with the comments on other reviews that this place is not clean and has tons of flies. I have been 5 to 7 times andit has always been clean with no flies. The décor is pretty basic with a few tables inside the eatery, and several tables located in the food court. I have tried several of the rolls there and they are excellent. I love the mixed tandoori grill and the chicken tikka rolls. They always ask you how spicy you want them and I have tried them mild, medium, and spicy. Be warned that if you order them spicy then it will be VERY spicy. They are really big and cost under $7 bucks. I have used this place to cater an event once and everyone loved the rolls, even the people who said they did not like Indian food. I haven't tried any of the other dishes here, but plan to. I have tried a few of the other eateries in the Global Mall food court, and this one seems to be the best. The food isn't greasy and oily which is a plus as a lot of Indian places can be. If you like Indian food and are in the area, this would be a great place to stop in for a quick lunch or snack. I recommend it and will definitely be back.
