I absolutely love this place! Very nicely decorated and inviting. Best option for Indian food newbies who want to try a little if everything. The lunch buffet is the best deal at $6.99 with plenty of variety. Lots of vegetarian options and some for meat eaters too. The vegetable dumpling is the Indian version of a hush puppy. Must try the mint chutney, it is an explosion of flavor in your mouth, get some warm bread and yum!

I have been going there for many years. Even though the quality went south in 2010, now have the best food. I catered from them for a party and people loved it seriously. Buffet selections are great, super service and amazing manager - Zayed!

Had lunch there today. They have a very good buffet. Restaurant is clean. Staff is very attentive and nice. Price for Buffett was really well priced. Would eat there again and would definitely recommend.

This place used to be fairly good a while back. I have dined here a few times and have taken food to go as well. I used to find the staff very friendly and eager and the quality of the food used to be good. Last time I dined (2 weeks back) the experience was not so good. We went for the dinner buffet and after our first bite realized it was not a good idea. The food was not fresh (probably what was cooked for lunch was served for dinner as well). The bread was cold and reheated. The saving grace was the Desserts. There were two servers one was very eager to serve but did not know much the other did not seem to care! I think I will avoid this place.

Came here for the weekend buffet. It's located on the main level of Global Mall. The food was tasty but not spicy. That's fine, mainstream Indian food is typically that way. That being said, the food is flavorful and some of the dishes are very rich. I would have given four stars but the tandoori chicken was sort of cold.

We eat here when we are out this way. I think it's pretty good, not an expert but always fresh and goid.

Food tasted like it was cooked 2 days ago. Nothing on the buffet line tasted freshly cooked. I've been going here for years and have noticed the food quality going downhill.

We came on a Friday night around 8:00 PM for the dinner buffet. I thought dinner would have included more items but it was the same of what you'd see at lunch. There were about 6-7 items to choose from and a salad bar that had some type of mango dessert not sure what that was but tasted like cold, sweet, orange colored mango water with some kind of fruit. It wasn't mango pieces though? (lol) Why wasn't there any beef!? Each chicken dish besides the Tikka curry smelled and tasted like old meat. The vegetables had no flavor and everything was extremely bland, just milked down. If I had to rate the best dish it would have to be the Saag (creamed spinach) with the naan. The service was great, this is what the 2 stars were for. They were very accommodating to us and brought fresh Naan surprisingly out of the rest of the tables without us asking. I will absolutely acknowledge the wonderful hospitality. When I got home I felt ridiculously sick like I was about to just throw up, and I didn't over-eat at all. Altogether, I personally will not come back again for dinner and maybe not even lunch. I understand this was a buffet, yet the food should smell edible and not old. I would highly suggest start making smaller buffet portions at a time, get a new chef maybe?, or switch something around to where food is being served safely and not carried over from lunch.

Went for the lunch buffet which was $6.99. No complaints. You get what you pay for.

I was really grateful that they have a dinner buffet! People say their buffet selection is small, but honestly every Indian restaurant buffet I have experienced is about the same size, so no complaints there. Ticket for my wife and i together was only $18.00!!! Love that. The Naan bread wasn't that great, but not terrible. Service was ok. Taste of food was pretty ok...The vegetable dumplings were awesome with rice. Chicken tikka masala was good. I would come back if I wanted to save some dollars in my pocket, but probably won't make this a regular hot spot.

I work nearby so I go for lunch now and again. The lunch buffet price is really cheap and the quality is pretty good given the price. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here for dinner, but for lunch its a great bargain. One caveat, their buffet curries are super mild. I like the heat myself, but given the price I can deal with the spiciness LCD. But if curry == spiciness for you then you will be disappointed.

It was inside global mall We went on Friday night for dinner buffet.I thought dinner would include more items but there were only 6-7 items. The good dish is only raitha ,naans was like left over and reheated, rice was not cooked completly. I personally will not come again for dinner or lunch.

Ashiana is located on the first floor of the Global Mall. This is Northern Indian food. I went here for the lunch buffet. The food stores upstairs on the second floor are Southern Indian style foods (think about it). Business was pretty brisk in Asiana during the time was there. The Chicken marsalas slightly spicy w tender pieces of chicken. The Gajjar Halwa was very good. It is a carrot dish (I don't like cooked carrots) but, this was very good and worthy of two helpings. The Nan is a flat unleavean bread. Try to catch Nan staight out of the kitchen for best results. Use a small bowl of Chicken Marshal as sauce for dipping Nan. Palak Paneer (Spinach) was spicy and soo yummy. Atcha was too salty for me. Tandoori Chicken was tender with a great marinade. The Chicken Paneer was cooked w chili and cleared the sinuses. Great taste! This is some heavy food so go slow with it. The Tamarind Chutney was y-u-m-m-y! The Mint Chutney was a bit salty, but still good. Across the hallway from the entrance to Ashiana are banquet halls that are used for weddings. These are big rooms. They were setting up one of them up for an event. This was a very good buffet. I will have to return here soon. 42/100

This is a nice place located inside of the Global Mall. The food is good, authentic and perfectly cooked. The naan is good and the curries are rich and creamy. You can't beat their lunch buffet!

Visited Ashiana Buffet in November 2013. The food was reasonably priced and delicious. The restaurant is located within the Global mall, a shopping center geared to Indian-American community within Atlanta. As a non-Indian, both the shopping center and Ashiana provided good insight into Indian culture, food, and fashion. Recommend that kids (especially non-Asian) living in Atlanta area get an opportunity to learn about Indian culture by visiting this place-it's much cheaper than Disney, Chuck E. Cheese, or other touristy attractions. Visiting the shopping center is like taking a field trip in Social Studies class.

Yes, another Indian experience! I went here today with my co-workers. One of the co-workers has been to Ashiana quite a bit and recommended it. The restaurant is located on the first floor of the Global Mall. Apparently, it is mostly an Indian-centric mall with stores selling furniture, saris and other traditional clothing, music and DVDs plus a random small food court with a few Indian eateries as well as an "Indian-influenced" Chinese place. The restaurant is located on the first floor. It is pretty nice inside, with dim lighting. The buffet was set up in the back. It seemed very organized and well-kept, with labels for each dish and a small plate at each dish to place the serving spoon after helping yourself. There was a good mix of vegetarian and meat dishes. The meat dishes appeared to be all chicken today. I believe there was chicken tandoori, chicken tikka masala and chicken curry. I also saw a dish of sweet minced carrots with sliced almonds, palak paneer, a chickpea curry dish, spicy potatoes, vegetable fritters and of course, naan. They also had basmati rice on the buffet table, but it was cooked with herbs so it was a bit different. I tried the fritters, rice, sweet carrots, chicken tikka masala, chicken curry and palak paneer. Everything was really tasty, especially the chicken curry. It contained nice tender pieces of breast meat. The meat of the chicken tikka masala was also breast meat, but a bit drier. I love paneer, so the palak paneer didn't disappoint. It was nice and creamy. The naan was nice and pillowy. I really enjoyed the rice as well. I wasn't a huge fan of the fritters. They seemed to have a lot of breading and not much veggies. Service was good. They were quick about refilling waters and clearing out used plates. The best part was the price. $6.99 for lunch buffet!

The location is weird. It's stuck in the "Global Mall" which has a similar vibe to Chinatown or something except for Indian people. $6.99 for lunch...at least on the weekdays (not sure about weekends). For the entree pricing at night (I snagged a to-go menu), I found it to be a little bit on the expensive side, with prices ranging from at least $10+. Therefore, the lunch buffet is a total steal. The meats include chicken marsala, chicken tandoori, goat curry, and some other chicken dish that I can't recall. The stewed vegetables (okra especially) is absolutely seasoned to perfection. I also liked their pita bread, which tasted crispy with some chew to it---no staleness or anything. The rice was alright---it had some inedible leaves in it (for flavoring?) but I wasn't particularly crazy about the texture of it. Not "rice-y" and maybe "too authentic" for my taste. So why only 4 stars and not the full 5? There simply wasn't enough FRESH veggies other than iceburg lettuce chopped up with a couple of tomato pieces in it. In addition, the only dessert option was rice pudding. I totally love rice pudding, and I buy that stuff all the time in the big tubaware containers...but I wish there was more of a selection. Otherwise, it's a great find. Bravo to their mint sauce---it was kinda spicy. I like that.

Ok...so a friend of mine has been singing the praises of Ashiana for over a year. So, I FINALLY got to check it out! Welp...all the hype was WELL DESERVED! The food was AMAZING! The service was great as well. It is located on the first floor of the Global Mall, but word of caution! You need to go when the traffic to the place is at low tide. Finding parking was a nightmare and the parking is pretty substantial. Let me be clear...PARKING.IS.A.NIGHTMARE! I mean, people were parked up on the sidewalks in front of the building. Several folks were "stalking" spaces of other patrons pulling out and leaving. Here's the skinny: I went on a Saturday night and there was an Indian wedding event happening, as they also have a large rental hall. As an event planner, I have done many Indian weddings and they are HUGE!!! Beautiful...but HUUUUUUUUUGE! LOL! So, it is a good idea to get your dinner early and avoid the Friday or Saturday rush of people. It was absolutely insanely packed for the dinner buffet. I will certainly return, but I think I will call ahead and do a take out order, those seemed to move very quickly. Dishes that I tasted and LOVED: Chicken Tikka w/Jasmine Rice Veggie Samosa Beef Samosa Naan

OK - so this rather nondescript Indian restaurant located in the "Global Mall" right off of Jimmy Carter and I85 didn't exactly elicit any excitement in me - but seeing as how it was after 9:00 PM and many of my favorite restaurants close early, plus having a hankering for Indian cuisine, I thought it was worth a try - besides, a buffet may be just the thing to sample more than a couple of items, right? I must admit to being pleasantly surprised - sure this isn't the best Indian, but nor is it the worst I've ever had - the flavors seemed fairly "right on" to me. Nothing was over-the-top in heat and they offered both goat and chicken. My only disappointment was in the general warmth of several of the dishes but I wasn't really surprised due to they're being in a buffet table. The hotel pan of naan bread was abysmal - dried out and cold, however we were offered fresh so I won't count that against the place. The server also greeted us at the door and I have a feeling it may have been the owner. There's a giant fish tank in the center of the room that would have added to an otherwise plain interior, if it wasn't for the annoying child standing in front of it talking to herself regarding pretty much everything in the tank. I got to hear all as she was standing right behind me. I really don't understand this trend of parents allowing their children to run around unsupervised but that's a different issue. I won't go to much into the food itself other than to note the tandoori chicken was right on, the chicken tika masala was really good, the fried veggies cold and the biryani not worth eating. But this being a buffet there was still plenty to sample and there wasn't anything there that was worse than my expectations - actually the tika was above average I thought. So the real standout and reason for a return trip is the price - $7.99 for an evening Indian buffet! For that price I can put up with a few inferior items - heck they serve liquor too.

Inside global mall.. Nice intimate setting Went in for a lunch buffet.. Which was only $6.99( on weekdays only), weekend lunch buffet is $9.99. Was definitely worth it. They had a good selection of veggie and non veggie dishes.. Plus appetizers and a separate bar for chutneys and salads and pickles..definitely recommend if you visit global mall and are really hungry!!

I usually pass Global Mall when I'm on a big shopping mission, and think "I need to stop for lunch sometime" and it's always either too early or too late for Ashiana's lunch buffet. It was just 11am when I was flying by the other day, going the wrong direction down JCB, when I realized I was turning around in the parking lot. STOP FOR LUNCH DUMMY rang in my ears. Score! They've got all the required Indian buffet offerings: tandoorii chicken, palak peneer, tikka masala; oddly no lentils, and naan on the steam table (I know Heather! Will they ever learn?) The rice was too sweet, with too much cinnamon. Very simple, but well prepared; not spicy enough for my taste, but not as bland as most places. But for the price-$6.99-you really can't beat it! I could eat my weight in tandoori chicken, spinach, gravy and naan. I ate so much I had to cut my shopping short and go home for a nap. I ended up saving money...who really needs seven side dishes for Thanksgiving dinner. Green bean casserole will just have to wait till Christmas!

My review for this restaurant is long over due! I was first introduced to this place by my boyfriend and from that point on, I've visited plenty of times with co-workers who share the same love for Indian food. I come here quite often for their lunch buffet. I do enjoy Indian food at least once or twice a month so this is definitely my "to go" spot when I'm craving a quick bite during busy work days. Great service, a very predictable menu but overall, the food is fresh and oh so good. One thing I do notice is that I'm always tired after eating here. I always experience a bad case of the common "food coma." Must be something in the food! ;) Their tandori chicken is always standard and tasty and all the sauces are fresh and served chilled every time. If you're new to Indian food or just want the standard dishes, stop by Ashiana and you won't be disappointed. Plus their lunch buffet price is hard to beat!

We were at Ashiana tonight for a wedding dinner. The food was really delicious. They had a buffet and everything was excellent. There were a few very spicy items and everything else was just moderately spice but extremely delicious. We got so full from our first plate we didn't get to try any of the salads or rice pudding - maybe next time! We really enjoyed our meal and are looking forward to going back again soon for some more.

We were looking for an Indian Buffet and found this restaurant on Yelp. It's located inside Global Mall, on the first floor. Not sure what they had on their regular menu, as we opted for the buffet. It was priced at $9.99 for dinner (I think lunch is $6.99). The buffet options were plentiful and very flavorful. Although there weren't many people in the restaurant, the waiter continuously brought over fresh naan bread to the buffet line. Dishes included in the buffet were: chicken tikka masala, yellow rice, spiced basmati rice, paneer, lamb, etc. There were plenty of options to choose from, and none of them disappointed! The restaurant was very quiet and clean and our waiter was very attentive. We will definitely be back again.

Ashiana offers traditional Indian cuisine in a casual, no-frills environment. Food: The only time that I dined at Ashiana was for their lunch buffet, which turned out to be far better than I had expected. For the most part, most of the dishes were hot, fresh, and well-prepared. The only issue I had was with the naan, which was cold, hard, and flavorless. Service: Everyone from the host to waiters was pleasant and accommodating. The buffet was replenished continually and drinks were quickly refilled. Atmosphere: The atmosphere of this restaurant leaves much to be desired. First, it's located inside a plaza along with several other Indian businesses. Once you arrive, the decor is drab and somewhat reminiscent of a hospital cafeteria with carpet. Price: Very inexpensive. The lunch buffet was only $6.99, including a dessert station. Other: Ashiana also has a large, separate banquet room that can accommodate at least 50 or so individuals.

A nice place - clean, huge, and good food - not too spicy. The daal (lentils) were prepared exceptionally well, but there are other options at the Global Mall, too. Buffet has lots of choices.

Ashiana is ok, but not great by no means. If you want some really good Indian food, try Swapna off Cobb Parkway near Vinings. The plus side to Ashiana is their lunch buffet is only $6.99.

Came here for a wedding and I was already judging the place because it was located in global mall. But the food was incredible. There nice Buffet selection compared to some other Indian buffets I've been to. The chicken Marsala is a must.

This lunch was probably the most international I've ever experienced in Atlanta. The room was dotted with East Africans, Middle Easterners, Nigerians, you name it. You can't beat the price of $6.99 for the lunch buffet. The food was just ok, tho. Nothing really to write about. I enjoy my Indian favorites in Decatur. I do have to say, the mall this establishment is located in is beyond cool...

Let me start off by saying I don't eat a lot of Indian food, so I have very little to compare my experience. I can tell you that our dinner (buffets) was very inexpensive! The food was good, seasoned very well. The two things we would love to see... tone down the heat just a hair, and add a little more variety. The place looks a bit run down. It's inside a shopping mall, and you can certainly tell you're in a completely different world. We went on a Friday night, and the place was fairly empty. Maybe it's more common for Indian folks to eat later in the evening? The wait staff was pleasant, and we did have our choice of ordering off the menu, or having the buffet. Since I'm a big fan of tandori and masala, I figured I would just have the buffet. Everyone else followed suit. Defense of 4 stars: The food probably wasn't gourmet, but it was pretty darn good. I thought it was too spicy, but I'm also not used to the food. I walked in with very reasonable expectations, and all of them were met or exceeded. The final star came from the price... 3 x buffets for under $20? Very tough to beat that! By the way... the bathrooms are out towards the back of the buffet area, right out the door, on the left side.

I go there often. The place is clean, they maintain a standard quality of their food, service is good. The food quality is also good. Overall you are expected to have a good experience. Plus, they have a really affordable price point, which makes it very attractive.

I really wanted Indian this past week so a couple of friends suggested Ashiana. Weekend dinner buffet is only $8.99! So of course I was excited to find a new cheap eat~ We walked into global mall and a man handed us a flyer for Ashiana. We went in and shot straight for the buffet. They had fried food first (i think it was called pakova?) Two types of rice, one plain and one yellow with peas. In addition, they had sageer? the creamy spinach dish and the pureed carrots. Then for meat they had chicken tikka masala and tandori chicken. The tikka masala didn't look too appetizing at the buffet because the cream and oil from the sauce was kind of lumped together around the meat. It was a bit better after mixing up the sauce before scooping it up. I agree with other reviews here~ the naan was kind of cold and slightly soggy~ no garlic naan option. The tikka masala in combination with the pureed carrots was pretty good. But overall not my favorite. I'd rate it 2.5

My two favorite words to be whispered softly into my ear..."Indian buffet". Ashiana offers a great lunch buffet, but also a great dinner buffet, which is a steal for under $10 on weekends. Located in the Global Mall off Jimmy Carter and 85, it is nicely decorated, with an attentive, friendly staff. It seems like a lot of reviews mention the naan bread on the buffet being sub-par, here's a tip, ASK for some to be brought to your table! They will definitely accommodate you. They offer the typical veg and non veg options, all are usually spiced well. Ashiana is Northern Indian cuisine, so it misses some of the nicer touches such as made to order Dosas served at The Palace, or the huge selection of Madras Chettinaad, but it is a solid restaurant, and I think the best on that side of Norcross. Ashiana hits the mark on price, service, quality, and taste! I can't wait to hear those sweet nothings again soon!

I finally found an Indian restaurant I like. This is great Indian in the Global Village mall on Jimmy Carter. I went this past Sunday and it was filled with Indian families. And you know what that means. Its an authentic Indian restaurant. They had a buffet for $10 Great Chicken Tikka Masala, Vegetable Korma, Tandori Chicken. All very yummy. If you are tired of mediocre Indian in Atlanta then head to Norcross.

My friend and I were looking for a good restaurant when she mentioned the Global Mall. She is Indian and said that the food court upstairs had a great Indo-Chinese place. When we got there rather than going upstairs to the food court the smell of Ashiana pulled us in. We decided to look at the buffet before eating and I trusted my Indian friend when she gave it her approval. The food was very good. I've had better but this was definitely great for a $7 all-you-can-eat lunch buffet. The naan was a little cold so we asked for them to bring some fresh naan to the table and that naan was fabulous. I would suggest this place for lunch and the Global Mall is a hidden gem in and of itself with great Indian stores throughout.

I came here during lunch and all can say is that it was ok. The rice tasted like it was left over rice mixed with fresh rice because of all the hard grains that I was biting. I did like the curry lamb but it was a bit weak. The naan was ok but kind of cold. It would have been better if so much was not out at one time. Over all I think it was just ok.

Came here for a reception over the weekend. It's a strange location (it's in a mall!) and we couldn't figure out where to park. We ended up parking far away from the hall, which was fine when we got there, but then we got locked into the mall when we were leaving so we had to walk outside for awhile in the dark parking lot. The food was pretty good although the appetizers we had were definitely much much better than the actual dinner (or maybe I just ate too many appetizers). There was make your own chaat, samosas, spring rolls (which I heard weren't that great--I didn't try any) and chili paneer. I love chaat so that was a winner but it's difficult to mess up chaat. The samosas were great, small and not too spicy. I don't normally like the chili paneer but definitely had seconds. For dinner, there was paneer makhani, daal, okra and gobi (cauliflower). I'm not a fan of cauliflower so I avoided that. The daal and paneer were great, but the okra wasn't cooked. I had to spit out the two bites that I did try to take. I really appreciated the fact that the staff seemed to actually care when I asked if the paneer makhani had nuts in it (most Indian people don't take a nut allergy seriously). I don't think I'll be back to Ashiana anytime soon, but if I am in the area again, I would go back.

My husband got food poisoning from this place. Never going back. We've been there before, and the food was decent. Not only because of the food poisoning, but the naan was awful. It was like left over reheated naan. Business seems to be down, so I'm guessing that's why the standards have gone down.
