Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Delicious! Best pizza in town so far. I recently moved to the area and tried 3 other pizza places so far and was not impressed. We ordered take out and it was ready on time and correct. When I paid the employee showed me the pizza to confirm - much appreciated. Crust was thinner than I like, but I'm originally from Buffalo, NY and the pizza dough up there tends to be thicker. The flavor was what mattered and it was delicious, as was the sauce and cheese. We'll be back!

I love their pizza. They have a few other good dishes there as well. The zucchini fries are my boyfriends favorite. The only thing about BJ's is the waiter can take forever if your dining in..

I was looking for a new pizza place near my near place, and I found Brooklyn Joes. Located in the Super Target shopping center on Alpharetta Highway and Webb Rd, it is easy to spot. I had passed by it many time, but never had the chance to dine there before. Fast forward to tonight. I ordered delivery, estimated delivery time 1 hour....real life delivery time, 31 minutes. I ordered just a cheese pizza, and it looked like the NYC style pizza that I know well, and love. I was happy with my first bite. The sauce is a bit tangy, not too sweet, which I like. The cheese tasted good and I liked the perfectly cooked thin crust. I did feel like their crust was maybe lacking a little something, but it did remind me of a lot of NYC pies I have indulged in. $17 for a large pizza and delivery, sold. Now that I live down the street I will definitely be ordering from here more often.

Let me begin by saying that the 2 stars I've given Brooklyn Joes is not because the food is not good. I truly enjoy the quality of the food I had there. The rating is because of their lack of commitment to keep a paying customer happy. I have been to this restaurant 4 times and on three of those occasions requested to sit outside and was informed that I could not because they were not doing outside seating. Now this restaurant is not large and I saw three servers standing behind the bar and one standing by the door. Not serving...just standing. So what in the world could be the reason they are not allowing outside seating I asked myself....as I called and asked to speak to the manager. And the reason I was given (paraphrasing) was we do not alllow outside seating on Friday and Saturday nights because we are a small restaurant and we use the outside seating for overflow when people are waiting to be seated. But you are more than welcome to order your food to go and sit outside at the tables to eat it. WTF!?!? First of all...there was no one waiting to be seated......inside or out. Second of all...if I get there before all the hypothetical abundance of customers arrive and I'm outside eating because that's where I want to sit then they have to find somewhere else to wait. First come first serve...no? The lame justification came across to me as nothing more than its easier for us to not have to service outside tables. And let me state I could accept this if they were packed and servers were not standing around. So off to Rays pizza around the corner we went where we sat outside and enjoyed our pizza and the cool evening breeze. Brooklyn Joes I realize that I'm just one customer but I am one customer who will never return and spend my money there.

Awesome pizza, decent staff and acceptable service.

I am basing my review of 5 stars on only two things: service & Tomato Basil Soup. I know, I'll definitely have to go again so that I can make a more well rounded opinion but to me the Tomato Basil was great and an unexpected surprise to find it at a pizza place. The waiter was also very courteous and kept my drink filled which is always nice, especially since sometimes when you dine alone it seems as though the table gets neglected (which I'm sure is because it's not as big of a tip). So so far so good!

This was my favorite pizza in Milton/Alpharetta until I tried Mama's last week, but I'll still order from Brooklyn Joe's for their food or if I need to have pizza delivered. It is NY style pizza, but something's missing in the crust, it's still pretty good though and I've found it's better if you order it well done. Their Sicilian pizza is pretty good, the taste is right but the crust is thinner than what I'm used to. I guess that makes it reduced calorie, so that's a positive ;) Everything else I've tried has been very good, the only thing I wasn't impressed with were the mozzarella sticks. They tasted fine, they're a pretty standard frozen appetizer, I guess I was just expecting a few more of them for the price especially when everything else on the menu is such a good size for a small price. The Greek salad is HUGE and loaded with toppings, and they don't skimp on the calamata olives - I hate it when I get a huge salad with 3 little olives! The fried zuchini and fried calimari apps are also pretty big and not very expensive. I've also had the chicken parm sub, the stromboli, the calzone, and chicken wings and they've all been good. BTW their delivery is pretty quick, I'm sure it's because I live 5 mins away, but they usually say 45+ mins and they show up in less than 30.

I am usually at Brooklyn Joe's for Lunch since I work close by. I grew up in the northeast and trust me, not all pizza is created equal. That being said, Brooklyn Joe's does a fantastic job with their pie. The crust is thin and crunchy, the sauce is not too sweet and they don't skimp on toppings. My fiance and I enjoy the serve yourself antipasta salad bowl as well. The service has always been attentive and I have never waited for an inordinate amount of time for my food. Solid job Brooklyn Joe's
(4)P B.
My wife and I live right around the corner from this place. I truly struggle with these guys. One day the food is awesome, and the next day it is just OK. The service is sub par and they take over an hour to normally deliver food if you order it. Bright side: They do have good pizza most of the time. My wife loves the white pizza. Meatball Sub is hit or miss but normally it is really good. one of the better ones ii have had. Chicken Salad Wrap is also good. I know that this sounds pretty crazy, but it is truly good. All and all this place is a good pizza joint and you get what you expect.
(3)Chris L.
I went there this weekend with my girlfriend. What a giant mistake. The location and layout of the restaurant is decent. I ordered the lunch special, which was a house salad, pizza with 1 topping (I picked chicken) and a fountain drink. She ordered a calzone. The house salad was at best, mediocre. I found multiple pieces of old iceberg lettuce in it, turning a dark brown. The chicken was dry and rubbery. It tasted like high quality dog food. The cheese was terrible, especially since it was soaked in grease. She said she thought the calzone was good, but she agreed my pizza was terrible, and when a pizza joint can't do pizza right, you know you've got a problem. Terrible food not withstanding, our waitress was a total ditz. First and foremost, it took about 30 minutes for them to make a calzone and 1 slice of pizza. People who came in after us had their food before us. I saw the "chef" sprinkling the chicken on my pizza WITH HIS BARE HANDS. I should have walked out right there, but I suppose I'm a glutton for punishment. the waitress asked if we wanted refills for our empty drinks. No, I'll be happy with just the ice, thanks. She then went to fold silverware with her back turned from every customer in the restaurant, which basically meant I had to sit there waiting for her to finish since I couldn't waive to get her attention. So after waiting too long to get mediocre food served by a disgusting chef who puts his dirty hands in it, she gives us the bill and charges us extra for the drink that should have been included in the lunch special. On top of that, my girlfriends calzone was customized, so they charged her $11 for just that. The total bill was $23, but if it was correct should have been $21 plus tip. Assuming a $4 tip, that's $25 for absolute crap food with crap service. No thanks. Since she slid the card before we saw the bill, it wasn't worth fighting, so we just circled the wrong price, wrote "WRONG" next to it, and left her no tip. I've never not a left a tip, but there is a first time for everything. If you really want good pizza and good service, go to Mellow Mushroom (there are much better pizza places out there, but MM is everywhere). This place sucks, and if this is indicative of what this shopping center will be like, I hope it stays empty.

Best gluten free pizza in the area. Toppings are generous and good quality, their sauce is fresh, and the crust is a tasty GF thin crust. They do offer gluten free pasta but I've never ordered it....I love the pizza too much! The wheat eaters in our family also love their pizza and are very happy with the crust, sauce, and quality (and one of them is from New York). We have great service and the atmosphere is exactly right for a family pizza place. Highly recommend for gluten free and wheat eaters alike.
(4)John F.
This is a nice place for the lunch menu. The music is set to an oldies station and provides a different atmosphere for a pizza joint. The TV's were set to FoxNews,CNN HLN, and ESPN so there's something for almost any news fan out there. The Ziti Tarangelo is a great lunch choice, pasta, olives, sun dried tomatoes, feta cheese and olive oil. Full of flavor and very tasty. Service is about on par with what you would expect at a fast food place like a TGI Friday's or Chili's.
(4)Alejandro B.
This is the best delivery pizza in the area. They could use some help in the customer service arena, but their pizza makes up for it.
(4)Mara M.
My fiance and I have been trying pizza for the last year here in Alpharetta. We moved from New York a year ago and sometimes crave pizza from home. We were really excited to try their pizza, however we were disappointed in our sicilian pie that we had delivered from Brooklyn Joe's. We were really rooting for your guys after hearing such good reviews. Their phone service was really great. We even got pointers on what to order from the menu that would travel well. My fiance and I promised to give them an extra star just because they informed us before hand that their fried zucchini sticks wouldn't be a good choice for takeout. Saved us $7 bucks! As for the pizza, the sauce was too acidic and the crust lacked everything. Oh no :( The cheese didn't hold together and it was impossible to eat. We only ate one slice each.
(2)Doug B.
Twenty visits ago I thought - oh, just another pizza place in a shopping center. Yup, I was wrong - BJ's puts out a really good pie, especially their white pizza. Still taste the garlic from some I ate a couple hours ago. But the thing that pegged my wow factor was their spinach salad. I get one every time. Best darn one I've tasted in a long time. Usually get take out but when we've eaten in service has been pretty good. Try it, you'll like it.
(4)Candice M.
This is a great little spot. They have your typical pizza, calzones, pasta and sandwiches. The pizza is really good but not great. They are always very quick with pick-up orders, however, dining in can sometimes be a pain. The restaurant is not that big and often gets crowded with large parties after sporting events at North Park and the local schools. Since there is no real entrance or waiting area the restaurant gets jam packed inside, however, they do have shops next to them so if you alright with standing outside, there is plenty of room to do that. The service has been friendly and consistently good but I just can't rate the food at anything above average. Maybe I am a pizza snob, who knows? I like Brooklyn Joe's as a close to home pizza joint.
(3)Kantina D.
Great new menu. Loved the Penne pasta with vodka sauce. Yummy.
(4)Lauren A.
We often do carryout or delivery from Brooklyn Joe's. I would highly recommend to cook the pizza"extra crispy", especially for takeout. Their New Yorker pizza is wonderful with pepperoni, meatballs, sausage, ham, and a wide variety of vegetables. They are very generous with their toppings! I have tried a few of their entrees over time, and would recommend sticking with pizza. I would also skip their breadsticks, they aren't the best. Tip: Check online for coupons, because they almost always offer a 15% off coupon.

I read the other reviews and I am so sorry you guys have had such a sucky experience. Even if a patron's opinion of an establishment's food is negative, with great service, it really helps the food to go down! ON TO MY REVIEW: We had it delivered, so can't comment on the wait staff, but the delivery guy was great, very polite, and all smiles. The order was placed via phone at 8 pm on Friday night (3/13) and Chris, who answered the phone, did all the right things ... he was attentive, even though I could hear the phone ringing in the background he didn't say "hold on for a minute", every question I asked he answered or immediately found out the answer. Delivery time was stated between 45 minutes to an hour, the hot food was delivered within 30 minutes!! Ok, here is the food critique: 1 small House Salad w/ extra gorgonzola and feta cheeses 1 small Greek Salad w/ extra feta cheese and dressing - WOW, Hubby's first comment was is this the small salad? Yep! We both finished our salads with absolutely nothing left but our fork!! 1 Chicken Salad Wrap 1 Mama's Lasagna - Both tasted awesome and were very delectable. I loved them. The lasagna and sauce were great, cheesy, mm-mm very very good. The chicken salad wrap was just as good too. Shredded chicken and seasonings tasted well, as did the wrap itself. Servings just as the salads were big portions, we both had ample for lunch the next day as the small salads were filling. Oh, and the lasagna came with a bread stick coated with garlic and butter that I loved, as I am such a bread girl. 4 stars up to this point but I had to give it 5 stars, rating an establishment isn't always about the taste of the food, it also includes the service, ambiance, portion size, price, and efficiency. On a Friday the 13th, 8 pm, raining, two hours into being hungry, to have some great food delivered within 30 mins, $30.00 for two people - WOW. 5 STARS BABY!!!!!!

New pizza joint, just opened next to the fancy new Target in Milton. I was surprised to see a pretty big crowd. By the time I left for lunch (on a rainy day) there was a line forming. You don't see much of this anymore in Alpharetta. Inside, this place is like most pizzerias around here. TVs everywhere, pictures of New York's landmarks, a few video games, etc. Service was a little slow and disorganized. But they made up for it with quick order turnaround time from the kitchen. Today I kept it simple... two slices of pizza with Italian sausage. The pizza was pretty good. The thin crust was delicious, but the bottom was a bit soggy and greasy. But the Italian sausage was terrific. The rest of the menu contains subs, pastas and a lot of appetizers. There is enough available to make it worth coming back. But otherwise it is pretty typical for these parts. And like I've mentioned on my other reviews, there are probably six or eight places just like this within a few miles.
(4)J. B.
I love Brooklyn Joe's! It's the only place I want to get pizza from (and I am a native New Yorker). Service is quick, friendly and the ingredients are always fresh. It's light years ahead of the other NY style pizza joints like Ray's and Johnny's. No, the crust isn't as awesome as in NY, but that's cause we're not in NY. If you want great pizza that is fresh, reasonably priced and served up quickly, this is the ticket! You can't please them all, but the ones who have taste, will like Joes!
(4)Deborah D.
My husband and I have become very selective about where we eat Italian food since moving to N GA five years ago. What we've noticed is that the sauce makes the restaurant. Most of the places up here seem content to sling canned sauce all over everything without actually tasting what they're serving to their customers. Upon our first visit to Brooklyn Joe's we noticed a drastic difference. To put it plane their sauce is perfect which makes the pizza, subs, and anything else they serve just as wonderful. We haven't had anything like it in over five years, and we'll definitely be back. Try them out, you won't be sorry.
(5)Sugar Sugar C.
I love this place. The pizza is by far the best. They opened one on Cumming Highway (GA 20) in Canton and we can't get enough of it. Their cheese pizza is anything but plain. It's full of flavor. I love their Margherita pizza because it's light, fresh and tasty so you don't leave feeling like you should be rolling out the door. My husband and son love the sicilian Bronx Bomber.
(5)Thomas B.
Good spot to catch a slice. Has a lunch menu that offers a good variety of their menu at moderate prices. Very Clean. One of the staff was sweeping the entire time I was there. Will visit again soon.
(3)Denise K.
So so. Looks like most other places that want to say New York-ish. Staff is young and does not have it together. Went on a Sat night and it was crowded-I would say location vs. quality determines that. Had pizza and pasta for table of 4. Pasta was ok and smothered in sauce/cheese - not a great nor bad taste. Pizza was too thin, could not stand up to a fold. Need a fork (hello- NY style!). The pepperoni on the slice was not cooked enough for my taste.
(2)Jonathan M.
We went here for dinner, I had the lasagna and my wife had a slice of pizza. It was good food for the price.
(4)JaieLinn Y.
I really like this place! It's great for delivery, small delivery charge, but so worth it! Amazing spinach dip, and Joe's Pesto Crostini, WOW!!! I also highly recommend tthe Beto's pasta and the spinach salad! Give it a try!
(4)Brian F.
I really like the food here. The pizza is top notch. Take-out is a breeze, and the staff are friendly.
(4)Luke N.
Good white pizza. Best service if you sit at the bar. Seems like a lot of standing around ladies. I hear them talk negative things about previous customers is a turn off though. But the pizza is good.
(4)Jj B.
This was my first time stopping here. I kind of forget it's there sometimes. Anyway ordered white pizza and an Italian sub. The pizza was out of this world! Also the staff was very nice too. I would have sat and had my dinner there but I hate eating alone. But I will be back there very soon!
(5)Jennifer A.
Great food and pizza.. Service is not the greatest.. Servers act like it's a chore to wait on your table.. Also as a manager in a professional business , I did not appreciate the servers standing around talking negatively about other workers .. Take it to the back or discuss with management . Food is great which is the most important when dining out !
(4)Alan C.
USED to love Brooklyn Joe's...we have been regulars since they opened, the food is very good (pizza, pasta, salads), nice dining area and kid friendly. We loved dining in and routinely ordered delivery...the staff WAS knowledgable and efficient. However like most places the service has slowly declined to a point where I am finding myself running out of excuses and looking for alternatives. They are clearly living off their early success and have developed into a business with an apathetic staff and clueless management. Tonight we waited over an hour and twenty minutes for a pizza delivery after calling several times and being told they were on their way, which is really the last straw for me. Unfortunately this wasn't an isolated incident and this now appears to be the norm. My wife and I have been hoping that they would get their act together but it would seem that ship has sailed. It's only a matter of time where the quality of the food will disintegrate to match the service. Too bad. They USED to be a really good place...not anymore.
(1)Karie L.
Ever since our Beloved Eastside closed, we stumbled upon Brooklyn Joes and have been very satisfied. I absolutely love their spinach salad, with the warm bacon dressing. I usually get the calzones, which again are delicious. Or we will get a big pie and pass it around. I wasnt super impressed by the slices we got ala carte... but ive only had them once, and it didnt turn me off to where i wouldn't order them again. but i like the idea of a fresh pie being made with all the fixins ;) usually have good service, there have a been a hiccup or two along the way.. but that will be the case anywhere you go. The manager always comes out and says hey, offers to clear plates or get refills. All in all Im a fan!! ( and now hungry for pizza)
(4)Kim D.
Had lunch here yesterday. Welcoming staff but once they take your order and you get your food they are definitely not "hovering". It would be nice if they stopped by once or twice to see if everything was okay. I ordered a Greek salad but was given a regular garden salad. I didn't say anything and the salad was fresh and very tasty. I had the veggie pizza and veggies were fresh with just the right amount of cheese. The crust was the best part. It was not doughy and just crispy enough. I think the pizza could have been a little hotter when served, and something on there was a bit watery which made the crust a little soggy in a few places (probably the tomatoes). I would definitely go back to try some other things. Lots of competition among pizza places, so consistency is key.
(3)Sean H.
Here's where our review comes from: we dine at Brooklyn Joes once a week, usually Sunday's, so we are pretty much regulars. With that being said, you really cannot go wrong with BJs...great service, delicious food, and a pleasant neighborhood atmosphere. Quick tip on the pizza: order it extra crispy to avoid the floppy/soggy crust effect of normal New York style pizza.
(5)Bill K.
Went there on Thursday afternoon (2:30) and waited for over 20 minutes to get our pizza and when it arrived the order was wrong. Within a few short minutes of leaving both my wife and I got violently ill. Throwing up, etc. I think the sausage was bad. Add on poor service and we will not be returning even though our address is within a tee shot of the front door. DINER BEWARE!!!
(1)David C.
I can't speak much for the wait service because I made a to go order. The people that work here are very friendly and helpful. When they brought the pizza out they checked it and asked if it looked good. they looked great. I got a margarita pizza and a greek pizza, XL. Now I will say the pizzas are more expensive than what you may have come to expect but 2 things, the pizzas were huge and tasted great. I felt the price was worth the product. The margarita was pretty much right on. The pizza didn't last long. The greek pizza was pretty good but believe or not we felt there may have been a little too much going on with the pizza as in a little too topping heavy(yes believe it or not we felt there was too many toppings). But regardless if I am ever back in the area I will be ordering from this place.
(5)Dave H.
This is our favorite pizza place when we want a real New York pizza. Smells amazing when you enter and tempts us always to get more than just pizza! They have a whole wheat crust which we always say we are going to try next time but we are afraid to mess with what we know we love. In fact we usually forgo any toppings when we eat here as it's delicious as is.
(4)Lori T.
Best darn pizza around the area in GA. You can get slices quickly. They have a nice balance of dough, cheese and sauce - I've found most GA pizza to be all cheese and hardly any sauce, what's up with that??!! Please do yourself a favor and check this place out if you're nearby or driving through. I'm sure happy I did! Very delicious pizza. The crust has a nice crisp to it too.
(5)J. W.
Stopped here for lunch and was very satisfied. I'm not usually a pizza girl unless it's taste of Italy so I was skeptical. I got the two slice special and it was good! The crust wasn't really doughy, it was more flat and crispy. It almost tasted mildly like sour dough. Tasted fresh. The right amount of cheese and pepperoni and sauce balance. The servers were very attentive and I'll definitely be back when I crave Italian food at work.
(4)Scott G.
Only been here for lunch, as it's near my office. Been here probably 6-8 times. The wait staff is hit and miss, depending on who you get, and the food is very pedestrian...what you would expect from a chain, nothing more and nothing less. I would have given 2 stars based on previous experiences, but today's visit was horrible. I sat in the bar area (went by myself so I could get some work done). The waiter barely paid any attention to me at all...spent most of the time talking about his fantasy football team with other members of the staff, when he wasn't talking about this week's episode of Walking Dead (hey...SPOILERS!)*. And the food was terrible...the garlic knots had a texture like they had been cooked yesterday, and the ravioli was cold and tasted like it had been microwaved. This had only been a place that I went to if I had an Italian craving and needed free Wi-Fi....after today, I won't be back. * - Yes, I know The Walking Dead episode was three days ago. That's why God created DVR technology.
(1)Daryl T.
Used to be my favorite. Took help 15 minutes to acknowledge me and then food arrived without plate. WTF? The picture days it all.
(1)Jason B.
Everything that we have had is excellent from the white pizza, ziti, sandwiches and more! Decently priced in a nice new building with a huge crowd every time that I am there. The employees are not the smartest and sometimes get the order a little wrong but are happy to replace it free of charge, even bought me a beer while they recooked my ziti with no meat.
(4)Sam W.
WooHoo! Welcome to the neighborhood. Brooklyn Joe's has great pizza, pasta, calzone, wraps, salad and more. Have had the pizza, pasta and calzone - all were superb. The staff is super friendly and service is impeccable. Dine in, have it delivered or catered for your next event - just do it. You'll be glad you did.
(5)Lisa N.
Me and my fiance went to this place about a month after it opened. Although service was not that great, that is not the major issue. We ordered a supreme pizza and a slice of plain cheese sicilian. The sicilian was average. The supreme was not average. It was far worse. The waitress brought it out and the first thing that popped into my head was that it looked and smelled like a frozen digiorno pizza. Not only did it look and smell like it, it tasted like it too. We didn't say much during the meal, only shooting each other glances across the table like, "What the heck are we eating. Is this place for real?" After we walked out the door, I turned to him and blurted out, "Ok, was it just me, or was that a frozen digiorno?" My fiance looked at me and said that he was thinking the exact same thing! Sorry, but if I want to eat frozen pizza, I'll buy it from Kroger for $5 and not for $20 from this joke of a pizzeria. Terrible.
