Been here about 5 times now. It has always been great! They have fantastic BBQ sauce- mild, hot, and sweet.. I mix them up to make the perfect combo. The portions are great- and the price is fair. I brought my family from out of town a few times and they also liked it! The staff is friendly, and they always make a special accommodation for us when we ask (somewhat out of sight table so my wife can feed baby). Oh- and the sweet tea is good.. I read some of the other reviews- talking about they didn't have meat or something crazy... Hahaha- you can't ever please everyone I guess... Every time we ordered food- it is served within 10-15 minutes- almost like its hot and ready! Good portions..If you want the best BBQ in McDonough, this is it! And there is talk of some serious expansion in the future!

I've always found their barbecue to be delicious. I especially love getting the salad with barbecue on top and ranch dressing - yum! I deducted a star because I've never been overly impressed with any of their side item choices (I've had the macaroni & cheese and the baked beans before - both were just okay).

I'm always looking for a good restaurant off 75, and OB's Barbecue is exceptional. The four of us (2 adults, 2 kids) split two platters, catfish and a triple (ribs, beef brisket, pulled pork) with the sides Brunswick Stew, fries, barbecue beans, green beans and salad. Y'all. This place is very SOLID quality wise. The pulled pork was a tad cool, but so lean and well cooked. The beef brisket is some of the best I've eaten and the ribs were quite good. But the catfish.... Oh, the catfish. I usually prefer a corn meal coating, but this had a batter that had to have been made with angel's tears....tears of joy at having found such delectable catfish filets. The Brunswick stew was unique, being a little sweeter than I'm used to. I liked it. The green beans could've used a little pizazz, but the barbecue beans had a touch of jalapeño for that perfect spicy sweet mixture. All in all, this is one of my top barbecue restaurants, and I've eaten BBQ all over. Next time I'll have to try the Memphis dry rub. Or maybe the steak and shrimp.... I know there's a Cracker Barrel at this exit, but do yourself a favor and check out OB's instead. Save the Barrel for when you can't find a local joint.

Food was microwaved. There was no "real pit" happening. Everything we had was disgusting. None of our meats or sides were good. So many things wrong here.

It wasn't spectacular, it wasn't horrible, and the service was really good. I wasn't a fan of the sauces, but the meat was ok. Overall, I'd say it's OK.

Very good service BUT pulled pork and Brunswick Stew were only fair. My wife had the brisket and felt the same.

New to mcdonough and we will most certainly be coming back here. My fiancé and I both had the Memphis style ribs, and they were perfect. Meaty, good dry rub, moist and fall off the bone, best ribs in McDonough. Service was good and the sides were also on par or better then most.

Just saw it the Action Bronson's TV show "fuck that's delicious" the ribs look delicious and flavors and the flame taste is amazing. I am glad I was watchingn the show so I am able to make this BBQ place my new favorite

I stopped at this place today for lunch and expected a really good Georgia BBQ experience. All of the visuals were promising: the smell of hickory smoke coming from behind a log shack-type building, the decor was perfect for a BBQ joint and the server showed up right when we sat down. We looked over the menu and got excited about Vidalia onion rings as an appetizer and collard greens as the vegetable special of the day. When the server came up to take our order, I was ready to get some onion rings for us to share but for some reason, I decided to ask if they were hand-breaded there at the restaurant. To my astonishment, the server shook her head and said, "no, they are frozen and come in a bag." Really? Needless to say, we didn't order those. My wife ordered a chopped pork sandwich and the special of the day collard greens, while I ordered the pulled pork plate with brunswick stew and collard greens. We both ordered sweet tea and it was really good. When the food arrived, I was shocked to see that the vegetable special of the day was canned collard greens! Really? My wife and I ended up discussing this for a few minutes trying to understand why any decent BBQ restaurant in Georgia didn't make their own onion rings and collard greens. Even the Varsity fast food knows to make their own onion rings! Come on... Anyway, the BBQ had a nice smoky flavor and had just the right amount of burnt ends mixed in but overall it was a little dry. Just a word to the wise that you should pass this one up and look for a real BBQ restaurant until they get the message that serving anything out of a can or a freezer bag doesn't belong in a Georgia restaurant!!

Only real bbq place in mcdonough. Everything is good. Fried okra is delish, Brunswick stew, pulled pork all amazing!

  • Suzanne G.

I don't often pan a place, but this place is B A D!! I ordered the brisket and the meat had no smoked flavor, was like chewing on shoe leather and the grand finale was when we got back to our hotel and I became violently ill.......nothing like a case of food poisoning while on a trip.

I didn't have any of the issues that the previous reviewers seemed to have. I had a great experience at OB's. What drew me to OB's was the large barbecue pit which is indeed "out n back" and can be seen from the freeway. What led me to eat here 6 times during the 21 days that I was working out in the McDonough area was the great service and yummy food. First off, if you want good service, guaranteed, ask to be sat in Jennifer's section. She was my waitress the first two times that I was there, and I made sure to ask for her every subsequent visit. She was friendly and professional, and never screwed up my order. Being from the Bay Area in California, she could tell that I was not an expert on barbecue, and she always had great suggestions for new foods for me to try. The one night that she was not in, the replacement server was just as nice and made sure that I got all of my food in a timely matter. As for the food, I usually ordered the #3.pork, ribs, and succulent brisket. The pork was my favorite. The hot barbecue sauce makes your mouth warm and is oh-so-good! Baked sweet potatoe side was the icing on the cake! I also enjoyed the sweet tea, and that's something that I usually don't like. Overall I really enjoyed my visits to OB's, and will make sure to stop by again if i'm ever in the area.

Love OBS! The BBQ nachos are great! I also really like the sweet sauce! The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. Prices are reasonable for such large portions. The chicken salad is also stellar! It is honey mustard! Which I don't love, but something about this chicken salad is heaven sent!

When it first opened about 15 years ago, this was a great barbecue place But it's gone down hill in the past 7-8 years. The last time I ate there, the pork sandwich was just so-so, kinda dry. When it first opened you'd have to wait in a long line to get in! What a shame it's been allowed to deteriorate. I probably won't go back.

I came down from Boston and was craving some BBQ. This place was delicious and had amazing prices. I had the fried green tomatoes, pulled pork, and beans -- all were great! The servers were extremely friendly and the food came out very quickly. I loved it so much that I went there twice during my 4-day stay!

    (4)
  • Peggy H.

Disappointing to say the least! We enjoyed this place years ago but it has seriously deteriorated. Dirty restaurant, dry bbq and skimpy sides. Only two words are needed: stay away!

  • Donna B.

I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2 because the staff was friendly. The food was bad. Baked potato was grayish yellow inside and tasted spoiled. Bee# brisket was chewy and mostly flavorless except for one slice that had a hint of smoke flavor. The fact that 2 in our party began feeling sick within an hour of leaving makes me suspect that the kitchen staff may be mixing in food leftover from the previous day. We have eaten here before and it was fine so maybe they were just having a bad day. Unfortunately, as a result of eating there so are we.

I have dined here many times over the years, but not since the holidays when Santa was there. Today was my most enjoyable visit ever. I had the Brisket plate and it was very good. Just a little fat on the edge and not overcooked. The fried green tomatoes were the best I have ever eaten. I sampled others pulled pork and it was good too. Tried collards and onion rings also, and they were very tasty. The portions were huge . I have enough left for my dinner. I will definitely return and this may be new favorite Q joint in Henry County.

The server was very nice ,the food was good my potatoes was a lot over baked had to ask for a new one. But pulled pork sandwich was very good even though I had to pay .50 for a bun since I did not get the Texas toast as they wanted.price is comparable to Sonny's.

We waited for lunch until we could get here. Well worth the wait. Something we look forward to every time we drive to Florida. They even make their own hush puppies. The best.

I stopped in on the way to the airport on a business trip. I ordered the triple combo so I could try the ribs, pulled pork, and brisket. The pulled pork was good, and there was plenty of it. The Memphis style ribs were smoked well, but could use more flavor in the rub - if there was a rub. It turns out that there was a miscommunication and I got double pork instead of a brisket portion. The waitress fixed that right away when I asked for just a slice of brisket she brought an entire serving. I may be picky about my brisket, but there was a lot of fat cap left on it, and my slices were cut with the grain instead of against it, contributing to a tough piece of meat. I got the macaroni and cheese, fried okra, and hush puppies as sides and they are all fantastic! Growing up in Texas and living in Memphis for the past 25 years, I am very picky about my BBQ. I like a little more flavor in my meat, but, the service and hospitality was excellent

Can't recommend avoiding OB's enough! I went at lunchtime and the food was mediocre across the board.. I had a pork plate and the pork was dry and flavorless like it spent way too much time in the smoker. The brunswick stew was watery and lacked any real flavor other than tomato. The potato salad was so-so. The cornbread was small, super dense, and not very good. On the plus side, the tea was sweet enough that I didn't have to add to it, so I suppose there's that. The staff was also very nice and service was good. With so many excellent BBQ options nowadays, you should definitely pass on OB's.

Portion size is enormous, flavor wise it's ok. I wasn't impressed with the blandness of the meat or tangy BBQ sauce. The service was very good, our waitress was very nice and friendly.

Huge servings and really nice staff. Loved it. Had the lunch serving and one appetizer and was way too much food. The drinks were huge, and even offered to make them to go.

I'm not saying I despair at the future of culinary civilization, but I was the only member of my group disappointed in lunch here.* It simply wasn't well made. Fortunately, they did have meat (there was some loud discussion in the kitchen about whether or not they were out of meat, which of course inspires tremendous confidence when you're in there at 12:30 for lunch), but the chopped pork I ordered was far too fatty and tough to be considered properly prepared. Mac & cheese was bland, and the brunswick stew was so sweet that I just put it aside. Tasted very much like those Chef Boyardee noodles in tomato sauce that I ate as a kid. Service was perfectly fine, but this is a long way from good food. The toughest part of my visit was keeping a straight face. * Between the time I drafted this review and now, I spoke with one of our group who claimed he didn't like it either. But he ordered seconds and dessert, so I suspect he's bs-ing me or has short term memory problems. Probably both.

Been here a couple of times before when I'm passing through. Normally get the pork but got the brisket on the servers recommendation. Should've stuck to the pork. It is good but not great. The brisket however is not "brisket". Absolutely no smoke flavor, all brown no red smoke ring, and was in some soupy juice. If I didn't know any better I would have thought I was at my grandmothers house on Sunday for roast. Was the same flavor, consistency, and texture. I don't think they use brisket nor do I believe they are smoking it. This place needs a thorough cleaning or better yet a little up grading. Bench seat material was all cracked and torn. Carpet looked like it was removed from the kitchen. Now I know this is a BBQ joint, but you are also a restaurant. You may have just lost a customer.

Great service and fairly decent BBQ. Ordered a full rack of ribs and the sauce was delicious. Our waitress was the definition of southern hospitality and as sweet as the tea!

  • Chris E.

This BBQ joint was an utter disappointment. In short, STAY AWAY (unless you want catfish). The BBQ was very dry and tasted like it was microwaved before it came out. The brisket was also equally devoid of moisture. The baby back ribs were decent, but only because they had been smothered in sauce. All around - I can't believe this place is in business. Oh...THEY DON'T HAVE BEER! Fail!!!! This is a family dining atmosphere, so in addition to the sucky BBQ, you also forego any chance of drinking away your sorrows or watching the game. The good news...shocking, the fried catfish was delicious. Yes, I said it...the catfish. While I'm on the catfish, the hush puppies were also delightful. Unfortunately, neither of those are BBQ.

Can't beat this place for Southern Bar B Que.. Be back on my next trip to McDonough. The Pulled pork plate with Mac N Cheese will literally make you slap someone it is soooo GOOD. The meat was tender and had a real smoky taste to it. Keep up the GREAT cooking and service.

Lawd, O.B.'s is where the best and brightest catfish go to die. Well, after they are bathed, drenched, and fried in THE most golden, flakiest, crustiest batter ever. O.B.'s fried catfish fillets are so beautiful that someone described my picture of O.B.'s catfish crust as, "Being formed from the tears of Jesus!" Yep, now you know that is some serious crust. I ordered a catfish fillet plate, which comes with two sides and choice of bread, with mac n' cheese and fried okra. Hunty, when I tell you that was some of the best damn fried okra and catfish I ever tasted. It was instant drool. Usually I can describe exactly what my food tastes like, but I'll just say one word: Heaven. The mac n' cheesy was extremely cheesy, just the way I like it, and you could tell there wasn't any Velveeta in site when it was made. The lemonade was sugar diabetes in training, just the way I love it, and the hush puppies were the perfect texture and flavor. Oh and the best thing was I ate off my plate for 3 days, and I can eat. O.B.'s is certainly not playing with their portions. This is good old down home Southern fat fat paradise, and I LOVE IT!

Had this for the first time yesterday despite the reviews (I'm an avid yelp user and check it out before I go anywhere) and I gotta say, for the price, it was pretty spot on. We got there early (11:15) so maybe we got the fresh stuff, but my half chicken was really good! My lunch date had the pork plate and while it could have been the 18 holes of golf that left him famished, he shoveled that pulled pork into his mouth never to be seen again. We made sure to get 4 different sides so we could try a lot since it was our first time. The stew, mac and cheese, potato salad and baked beans were all delicious. I had the hush puppies as my bread choice and I gotta tell you, I judge a place based on things such as these and they passed. Overall, great experience for the price.

The hubby and I stopped here on the way to the beach and just love trying new bbq, so we were pretty excited. They claimed to have the best bbq in the world (but don't they all?) but I was not impressed. I tried the philly sandwich and once the waitress sat it in front of me I knew it was going to be bad. Soggy bread, congealed cheese, wilted lettuce... I was shocked she even served it to me. The aus ju was supposed to be on the side I think...not drowning the entire sandwich. The hubby tried the pork (it was extra $ for "pulled") and it was ok. The stew doesn't come with corn bread, which was ok but they charged $1.80 for one small corn muffin. It really appeared like they were nitpicking the prices. So we spent $35 and had 2 sandwiches, stew, THE corn muffin, and tea and left with spirits wilted like the lettuce on my plate. Sorry OB's, but it just wasn't good.

My friend raved that she HAD to come back to this place, apparently she had been here 5 or 6 years before. my favorite thing about the atmosphere of this place was 1. rocking chairs to sit on while waiting 2. the smell of BBQ inside the restaurant. this was a big 'ol place, plenty of space to bring the whole family and then some. I had the fried okra and catfish and the portions are big, so make sure you're hungry when you come here. The cornbread was also good and could have been more fun maybe if there was some corn or peppers for spice in there. overall, the BBQ smell and actual bbq food I had was good, and they had very good service. This place is close to the Atlanta airport, and we were in a hurry to leave and the wait staff was very quick to make sure we made it on time for our flight.

Seriously, I know it is off the beaten path and looks old but this is hands down, THE BEST BBQ around. I lived in the McDonough, Locust Grove area my entire life until about 5 years ago when I moved to Texas. I have been searching high and low for a decent BBQ place here in Texas that could come up to my spoiled standards at OB'S BBQ and so far nothing can compare. The Fried Pickles and Ranch are amazing and for the entree you cant go wrong with anything on the menu, seriously, awesome! They have the BBQ sauces in bottles on the tables (I believe they are regular and sweet....go with the sweet!!) and the service is always nice. The owners are there a lot making sure it runs smoothly. I am coming to see family in August and I am making a special trip 50 miles south of where I will be to eat here again!!!!

Seeing the sign for this place daily on my commute, I decided to finally hit the exit and give it a try. Bbq is something that I love to eat and I hold a high bar when it comes down to it. I ordered my standard pulled pork sandwich, Brunswick stew, and sweet tea. The tea was nice and sweet and tasted very fresh. They have an option to order your pork chopped or pulled (which is nice to have) so I had to get the pulled. The pulled pork sandwich was nice and thick with no chunks of fat. It had some nice burnt tips in there and tasted like it came from the pit, not some warmer oven. I went with the sweet sauce, and it was good. The Brunswick stew was great. It was hearty and chocked full of flavor. It wasn't just meat and broth like a lot of places try to do, no no no...this stew had ingredients. I don't know what all was in it, but I know I tasted a Lima bean at one point. It was on the sweet side, but I liked that about it. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here and will visit again.

By far the most I've ever paid for a combo plate and not even close the the best. I'm giving this place 2 stars because it's not the worst BBQ I've ever had but it's nothing special for sure!

  • Kay L.

I enjoyed my visit here. The scent reminds me of my grand-dads living room, love it! The barbeque is really tasty. They give nice portions and with the large cups, it was my first time not needing or desiring a refill. I sampled 2 different bbq sauces that were on the table on my half chicken, both were good. The ribs, shrimp, and grilled chicken salad are good as well. My mom says their brunswick stew is the best she's tasted in a long time. I will revisit soon.

  • Walter C.

Stew is slightly sweet. almost like it might be sweetened with sorghum syrup or molasses. It could be a tomato soup base too. I did not care for it. Slaw is ground and on the sweet side. I liked it but a few bites with some serious off flavors. Hush puppies are good. A little sweet too. Sauces are tomato based and not the vinegar based I grew up with in Georgia. They are good though. Pork was very good. Not greasy or fatty. Could use a little more smoke for my tastes but I'd take it home to Mama!

First off be warned - they do not sell beer!!! Brisket was very good Green beans - very bad Nice mix of sauces Our server was terrible - could not keep the orders straight Overall a good dining experience only because of the company not the restaurant. I'll pass this one by next time

  • Buddy R.

Not the best BBQ in the state (that's Pig-n-Chick) but a worthy addition to my "Q" list. I had the chopped pork plate. The pork was not as moist as some but had a very good flavor. They have 3 types of sauces - Hot, Mild or sweet - all three were good. I had mine with a huge baked potato and a very good and fresh salad. And most importantly for a southern BBQ restaurant, the waitress called me "baby". The service was very attentive and quick. I'll have to try the ribs next time.

  • Pauly C.

In my opinion, a great BBQ place needs to smell like... well, ...like they've cooked the BBQ on the premises!! This is EXACTLY what I had experienced today. I wanted O.B.'s to have a smokey-hickory scent to it as I walked through the door. My mouth started to water as I approached the counter. My main question to the hostess: "Do you have pulled pork for your sandwiches, or is it chopped?" "You can have it pulled, OR chopped." YES!!! That's the answer I have been waiting a year to hear!! Plus, there was the option of Texas Toast, or on a bun. Sauce options were Hot, Sweet, or Mild. The pork, nor the sauces had a hint of that vinegar taste usually associated with a Carolina-style, but that isn't my issue. I'm OK with it being EXACTLY how I received my sandwich, HUGE! ...on buttery Texas Toast, AND... with some of that charred pork I so desperately crave.. My requested Hot, and Sweet sauces were served on-the-side, and I loved every drop that I dribbled between the bread and meat. Having passed the Pauly C BBQ Taste Test, I am excited to know that O.B.'s is open 7 days a week! Like my Chick-Fil-A craving that seems to ALWAYS come on a Sunday, my BBQ cravings can be fulfilled when I'm in dire need of my "Q". They have a great, reasonably-priced menu which includes beef and pork varieties, fried catfish, shrimp, and an expected sides selection. O.B.'s must really pack in the crowds on the weekends based on the amount of indoor seating, and they must do a pretty good lunch crowd on the weekdays. I had arrived around 11:20am today (Wednesday), and I was served my to-go order within 5-6 minutes. Too bad too, because I was getting quite relaxed in the rocking-chairs they have in their waiting area. By the time I was in my truck. and 3 bites into my sandwich, the parking lot quadrupled with parked cars, and a steady flow of lunch-crowd patrons were heading towards O.B.'s front doors. Business seems to be very good, and most likely had been for many years. O.B.'s isn't going away anytime soon, but don't hesitate to get your BBQ-lovin butt out to McDonough (exit 218) as soon as you can!!

My family and I stopped here for a late dinner earlier this month. We were all pleasantly surprised. My husband and I ordered the pork nachos. They accidentally made the chicken nachos and went ahead and brought those out for us while they made the pork nachos. Both were absolutely delicious! I preferred the chicken nachos, but they were both delicious. My father ordered the ribs, and those were good as well. The service was fast and friendly and the atmosphere was nice. We would definitely go back.

  • Brad W.

Baby back Heaven is what you will find here. These were easily the best fall-off-the-bone ribs on my Southeast BBQ tour. It 's not just the ribs, it's the tangy sauce bursting with spices, the crunchy hushpuupies and an unusual baked sweet potato served up with a side of Brown Sugar. The ribs are the main attraction, basted with that sauce and just melting in your mouth with flavor. A half-rack will do ya, but go for the full because you will left craving more. This si not a chain either and that makes it even more special.

I eat here weekly. I love the atmosphere, service, and the food. the food here is so good, we hired them to cater our wedding! there was a downturn a few years ago, but the owners took care of the problem and anyone that hasn't been recently should give O.B.'s another shot. Best bbq in McDonough!

Meh. I've experienced better, as Yelp 2 stars states is an accurate review for me on this place. I've eaten here 3 times in the past 10 years, twice in the last year. Pork plate w/ stew & slaw for me and the wife had half a rack of ribs. the pork was dry and a bit tough (as though it had been sitting out a while) the stew was nothing to brag about at all in my opinion. The cole slaw was just meh...the wife said the ribs were ok but nothing worth making a special trip about. Their table sauces were nto really good at all. Sweet, mild & hot were the choices. At first taste they all had a (I'm being serious here) bit of a "body odor" smell/taste!?? Bleh...I'm still not quite sure how they are still in business to be honest. We went last Wed and we were the only ones there at 7 pm...I drive by alot and they are never really crowded, in fact the Applebee's next door does more business than OB's does...what does that tell ya?? Also, they are quite pricey for a BBQ joint..

  • Michelle D.

I agree with the previous review -not sure why they are still open. I think it's time to give up the ghost. I have ordered from here twice, both times to go. The first time I got home to find that my fried green tomatoes were actually fried pickles. The second time took forever and it was not worth the wait (nor the price.). It's a shame, really, as we are so limited to good restaurants on our side of town. This is definitely one to add to the "not good" list.

  • Chef Invisible T.

Worst ever--sorry I brought my girlfriend by accident- they used to have a good reputation but I fear that they buy BBQ in a can or ready to microwave pouch. The server was nervous even to ask us how the food was. A shame that so much money can be put into a bbq resto and the food be so bad, and I mean bad. For me to say the worst ever bbq is saying something considering I have over 100 places under my belt. Out Worst bbq ever

I used to LOVE OB's but something wierd has happened. The wait stuff was really friendly, but seemed very out of it. Our food was dry and lukewarm, the mac and cheese looked like something out of a Kraft box and was definitely made with powdered cheese. The salad bar looked nasty and as they were closing up I saw them recycle the nasty wet lettuce for another day. I don't know what happened here but I suspect they must having some financial problems as it was DEAD at 7:30 PM on a Saturday Night. I will give the other location another shot over at the Tanger Outlet, gotta love a half rack of ribs and two hot fried catfish filets. I won't be returning to OB's on exit 218.

  • Mike R.

My wife and I ate at OB's about 5-6 years ago and were not impressed. The BBQ pork was mediocre at best and the "smoked" turkey was a thin, circular piece of what appeared to be processed turkey (i.e., it looked like Oscar Meyer Bologna.) As for being "smoked" my wife described the flavor as being like they had opened a package of turkey, waved it over some smoke and slapped it on a bun. We decided the other night, on the way back from Atlanta to give them another chance. We were just as disappointed. We should have known something was still wrong when there was only one other table of people there for dinner (i.e., if the locals aren't filling the place up then they probably are not any good.) I ordered the beef brisket and it was flavorless and had a BUNCH of fat on it that should have been trimmed off. My baked potato was the slightest bit under-cooked but otherwise ok. The cornbread was awful and I had to send it back and request Texas Toast which was fine. The Brunswick Stew was not bad. I would order it again. My wife ordered BBQ chicken nachos. They were not too bad but they would have been better if the cheese had been drizzled over the top instead of all being on the bottom of the plate. The chicken could have been shredded better. All in all, compared to the brisket, the nachos were okay. We ordered chicken tenders for our son. The coating was barely there which was a problem because without it, there was NO flavor to the chicken. Worse than that, the chicken was tough as rawhide. The fries were okay. The decor was typical of a BBQ restaurant. The booth we sat in was comfortable but the cushion had a bunch of rips in it. The waiter was nice but clearly did not know the menu well. When my wife asked what came on the chicken nachos all he could say was chicken and BBQ when it turns out there was also some sort of cheese. When I ordered the brisket and for a side the "X-Large baked Potato" (which is how it was listed in the menu) he said there would be an extra charge for it. That struck me as strange because it was listed in the menu along with the other side choices for the dinner entrees. There was nothing in the menu that said it was extra (unless you wanted it with cheese or "loaded" neither of which I requested.) We got the distinct impression that he just guessed it would be more since it was an "X-Large baked Potato" despite that being how they listed it on the menu. In the end, there was no extra charge which is another reason I think he did not know the menu well. I would NOT recommend this restaurant.

I want to like this place more. I really do. The food is actually pretty good. I got the beef brisket which was very good. Tender, beefy flavor, juicy, and it mixed relatively well with the sauces. Speaking of sauces, they have a hot, sweet and mild. All of the sauces were fairly good. The brunswick stew is excellent and the BBQ baked beans were better than average. They could use a bit more BBQ sauce. The highlight of the meal was the fried pickles. They were very good. The portion sizes are well above average and the service was great! So why two stars? The price! At dinner you can get a burger or a sandwhich for around nine dollars. That is not bad but the cheapest typical bbq meal here is around eleven dollars. It just seems like everything is priced 2-3$ more than the average price for this type of food around the area. The food is good but I can get a comparable meal for cheaper elsewhere.
