Ok, so it is with a heavy heart that I leave this review. It took me a while in deciding to complete this. As previously stated the person who assisted us was very very nice. We came home and I put the chicken pot pie in the oven. With all of the trave reviews, I couldn't wait for it to get done. Crust: very good and flaky, nice flavor. Filling: :(.... let's put it this way. .I could not eat it. There was absolutely no flavor in it. Now they're was ample chicken and vegetables and it was very creamy. I have the seafood still in the freezer, I can't being myself to bake it. My first experience was just that bad on my opinion. ..

I like Paul -- a friendly guy from Nutley, NJ -- and I like his pies. If your idea of a pot pie is one of those Swanson frozen thingies that your mom gave you as a kid, boy are you in for a surprise. Paul's pies are deeee-licious! I've eaten two -- chicken, and Italian -- and I've got two in my freezer: jambalaya and chicken curry. The chicken was filled with vegetables and white meat. A tad under-seasoned for my taste, but certainly good. My preference is the Italian, with a bit of zing, thanks to the sausage. The pastry topping, with Paul's signature flower imprint, is light and buttery, reminiscent of a dessert crust. Whether you buy the pies frozen or fresh -- both types need to be baked -- they're easy to prepare. No need to even defrost the frozen. I popped a fresh one in the oven on a piece of parchment paper and 40 minutes later it was ready. Same method for frozen, but obviously longer. (Instructions are provided on Paul's business card and I believe on line.) His pot pies are so popular, Paul opened a second location in Kennesaw. Check 'em out!

I ventured to Paul's to give them a try (intro coupon). Wow - this pie is delicious. I know we will go back to put pies in the freezer and for something quick for dinner. I'm envisioning a pot pie party when the weather cools off. Gifts or meal planning for home - go!

We just happened to check this place out during the last week for lunch. We're so disappointed that we wont be eating again. But it was definitely worth the time searching this cool little place out. Paul was extremely nice and makes an awesome potpie! He told us that he will still offer carryout and catering. We're looking forward to our first carryout!

Talk about comfort food - these pot pies are super good. They come in small or large $8/$24+ and in a variety of flavors. Family faves: BBQ PORK, CURRY CHICKEN, TRADITIONAL CHICKEN. Planning to try Pot Roast and Beef Stroganoff on our next visit. They make great gifts and keep well in the freezer but who can wait that long once you get it to the house???? Pop it in the oven, make a salad and dinner for your family or for friends is ready. Located in Marietta Square it isn't a restaurant, but rather a storefront. You can just pick up a pie (or two) and go! Not sure about pot pies? Check out their booth at the Marietta Square Farmers Market on Saturdays. You can sample a few flavors and make your purchase there too. I know you're still thinking'..."who in the world eats pot pies these days?"...I DO!!! These aren't TV dinner pot pies from the 70's people. These are grown up potpies that are not only delicious but aesthetically pleasing to have on your table. With a beautiful puff pastry crust on top and juicy, flavorful fillings inside you'll be amazed and look forward to trying one of the 11 different flavors they have to offer. Check em out. Located on Mill Street across from Cool Beans coffee shop. Very friendly staff and quick service too.

I freaking love pot pie. Growing up we'd have a special night every once in a while when mom and dad would let us run down the frozen food aisle and pick out a TV dinner. It was almost always a pot pie. There was chicken, turkey...sometimes there was a cheesy broccoli, but I've only ever had these basic flavors....and I was perfectly content....until yesterday. I walked by Paul's shop and stopped dead in my tracks. A whole store of pot pies. Eleven different flavors. Eleven. And not just chicken or turkey, I'm talking BBQ, Seafood Chowder, Chicken Curry.... And then I saw it.... Pot Roast Pot Pie. I had to have it, but we had already ordered lunch elsewhere. Nooooooo! But wait! Paul sells his pies frozen, so you can take them home and bake them. YES!!! Dinner was nothing short of glorious. That Pot Roast Pot Pie was hands down the best pot pie I've ever had. The pot roast was cooked perfectly, and the ratio of meat, potatoes and veggies was spot on. The carrots and peas added a subtle sweetness to the hearty meal. The crust was buttery and flaky, everything you'd ever want in a pot pie. Paul...I'm in love with your pies. Thank you.

Decided to journey over to Marietta today and found Paul's Pies. I ordered 2 small pies. It was by far the best pot pie I have ever had. We ate one for dinner with a salad and froze the other for another night. We got the chicken, as I thought that was a safe one to try for the first time. After reading the reviews, I am going back and ordering several different flavors. The crust was soooo flaky and delicious. I will be getting some for gifts too. I used a scoutmob coupon and saved $8.00. The women that waited on me was very helpful and friendly.

We were walking by and smelled the heavenly chicken pot pie smell. We had to go in. Paul was there and went over the menu with us. A customer came in to pick up his pot pie which was beef stroganoff. It smelled amazing! The customer said he gets one a week and that is his favorite one. We ended up getting 3 frozen pies in the smaller size: seafood, chicken, and sausage. They were all top notch, fresh as homemade, and quality ingredients. The small size could serve two, but it was too hard to stop eating. I don't know which was my favorite but the sausage is possibly habit forming. The crust was light and flaky kind of like a cross between a pie pastry and puff pastry. The pies were frozen and took about 1 1/2 hours to cook and brown nicely. Use foil under your pies to prevent a mess in your oven. They serve hot pies to go too.

The only reason my wife and I came here today was because of "Pi Day" and we were looking for places to go. Couldn't have been more satisfied. The staff were very pleasant and extremely helpful. You could tell this place really cares about customers and reputation. I mean, 4 and a half star average on here? Wow! Anyways, I would recommend the Jambalaya but there's probably not a bad option. I had a great experience and the food was delicious. I can understand though why some people may not love it because you have to get the food to-go and heat it up yourself, but it wasn't really an issue for me. We're moving out of town soon but we hope we can come enjoy a meal here one more time!

I can't believe it took me 13 years to find this wonderful place!! I ordered the classic chicken pot pie. I was a little taken back by the price of the large pie at first, but once I thought of how much time and effort not including money goes into making such a pie, I got over it very fast. I popped it in the oven when I got home and an hour later my house smelled like pot pie heaven. The crust is so light, flaky, and tender. The filling was perfectly seasoned and the chicken was very high quality. It was creamy and delicious!! My kids even ate the veggies!! I can't wait to try them all. Paul you are incredible!! Thank you for sharing your gift!

Stopped in to get a gift for an ailing friend (comfort food...the best medicine) and bought a small jambalaya pie for myself while I was there. The best thing about a pot pie is the crust, and this one was wonderful. The stuffing was good, too. A very hearty meal. The pies are available frozen or not. I got a frozen for my friend and regular for myself. It took about an hour to bake. My only suggestion would be to provide prettier bags if it's a gift. A handle bag with Paul's Pot Pies on the outside would make quite an impression.

Traveling Fare, or Paul's Pot Pies, is a tiny shop in Marietta Square that specializes in pot pies. They are take out only. You cannot dine in there. They have 6 inch and 10 inch pies. A full grown person with an appetite can eat a 6 inch pie by themselves. If you're a wimpy eater with a small stomach, maybe you can eat half a pie. They have all sorts of pot pies from classic chicken and turkey to more creative ones like chicken curry, jambalaya, and sloppy joe. For vegetarians, they have a vegetarian one too. They come frozen or fresh. They give you cooking instructions when you pick them up. You just have to pop them in the oven for about 30 minutes at around 375 degrees. I tried the chicken pot pie and the jambalaya pot pie. They both tasted good. The chicken pot pie was creamy, tender, and flavorful. It had carrot, peas and corn with white meat chunks. The jambalaya tasted interesting. I loved the mild heat it gave it. It had a lot of flavor for a pot pie. I liked it. The crust of these pot pies are flakey and delicious. They brown nicely in the oven when you follow their directions. The crust and the fillings complement each other. If you love pot pies, try this place out. You just have to know how to turn on an oven.

Paul's Pot Pies - Exactly what I was hoping for and then some. The pot pie was excellent (we got an Italian sausage and a seafood chowder) and the owner was good people. We showed up at closing time, and although he'd just locked up and walked up the street, he noticed us and came back to greet us and sell us his fare. THIS is why we live at the Square.

Paul's Pot Pies is located on Mill St just off of the Marietta Square in an obscure location. Months ago, after seeing a segment on this establishment featured on the Travel Channel, we took a 60 minute drive to find and try it. Unfortunately either we did not recall or they did not state, that this is a TAKE OUT ONLY AND NOT COOKED--a "take it home and bake it yourself". So, when my wife happened to be in the area again recently, she was delighted to be able to stop in again to try it. At first. Jambalaya Pot Pie 6" @ $8 each. Menu said it contains "shrimp, chicken, sausage, bell pepper, onions, and rice". It also had carrots and a red spaghetti type sauce. The chicken was white meat. I could not discern any type of onion. The sausage was Italian style and nothing was browned in anyway, ie the ingredients were basically thrown together. It was pretty well filled. The pastry crust was a puff type with two crusts, but either a bad dough recipe or low budget commercial pre-fab that was definitely made with vegetable shortening. The top layer flaked once and was soggy the rest of the way down indicating that either the baker did not know how to make puff pastry or it was a cheap commercial ruse. The cooked bottom crust was mush. As a Louisiana native and Chef, I can tell you this was nothing like Jambalaya and more like a funky spaghetti sauce pie with a few bits of rice. The maker relied heavily on seasoning the pie solely from the poached sausage. Basically it was a heavy and soggy mess of things stuffed in an aluminum pie tin. Vegetarian Pot Pie 6" @ $7.50 each. Menu said it contains Feta cheese, broccoli, carrots, spinach, cannelloni beans, tomatoes, and zucchini. It was very heavy on spinach and light on everything else but accented with carrots. My wife's review was said best: "This tastes like a bag of frozen vegetables in pie crust with no flavor." I agree. It was very suspicious of a bag of frozen Italian Medley vegetables with some extra greens thrown in to fill it out. A couple of red spots made their appearance but mostly very green and some orange. Two things learned (again): 1) Don't believe everything on TV as to take you more than a few miles to get there to experience it, and 2) If an eating establishment offers you a Regional dish and you ain't IN that region--don't be a sucker. Make sure you know for the Chef is FROM the area in question or has had extensive experience IN that region. Also, I can tell you from experience, Marie Calendar's frozen pot pies are better quality and a lot cheaper. You have to take that home and bake them too, but you can probably find a store to sell them to you with less hassle than it is to get one of these things.

We discovered Paul's while shopping at the Farmer's Market on the Marietta Square. We have had several types of the pot pies but we find the Italian Sausage one our current favorites. Delicious! It's such an easy weeknight meal. Can't wait to try out the actual restaurant some time soon!

Totally underrated and almost totally unreviewed on Yelp, Traveling Fare (also "Paul's Pot Pies") is one of the best spots for lunch on Marietta Square. Their signature items are the pot pies. There's chicken, of course, but there's also great variety of other fillings to try: pot roast, chicken curry, pizza, jambalaya, creole shrimp, vegetarian, and the like. They're all excellent, with a deliciously flaky and rich crust. I also like the fact that they're not too heavily salted. A few choices are available for lunch each day, usually chicken, pot roast, and one or two others. A slice of pot pie with a side will run you just over $8, a great price for the Square. Alternatively, take an entire pot pie home with you; it's $21.95 for a 10-inch one and $7.50 for a 6-inch one. But also worth checking out are the Hearty Platters, a great lunch option at $8.50 a plate. You can choose three salads, or two salads and a cup of soup. And we're talking some good salad -- chicken salad, pasta salad, tuna salad, egg salad, tossed salad, fruit salad (seasonal), etc. -- all handily beating the competition on the Square. Sandwiches are another option, as are quiches. It's too bad Traveling Fare is located maybe five seconds' walk off the Square itself (it's on Mill Street), in the direction of Thaicoon, as it seems like business isn't always that great, save for a few regulars. But it appears that they have a brisk catering thing going on, for which they offer a much-expanded menu of offerings. Hours are, admittedly, a little irregular. Dine in for lunch on Tuesdays through Fridays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Take your lunch to go on Monday from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m., on Tuesday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. But, that's the life of a small catering business for you. You might want to just call ahead to make sure. Whatever the case, it's worth stopping by if you're in the area.

aka Paul's Pot Pies is situated in Marietta Square. This place is nothing fancy schmancy. The owners specialize in meat pies. I got a beef pot pie with the macaroni salad. The pot pie was good and filling enough. The macaroni salad is garlic flavored with some black pepper. I felt like I was eating a homemade meal. I'm not a pot pie aficionada, so I don't think I was able to appreciate enough, but it was a nice experience for $8.75.

I purchased their Turkey Pot Pie from the Marietta Farmers Market on Saturday. I swear, it tasted like a whole thanksgiving meal in a pie. It was absolutely delicious. I actually opened up a can of cranberry sauce for the occasion. I havent been to their shop yet, but I will definately be stopping by on a regular basis. Cant wait to try their other flavors. Hoping this business stays around for awhile.

As a southern boy with family diner roots and as a chef-instructor, food-dude, kitchen coach, I have eaten and made alot of pot pies in my time. But now, I really have no need to make them anymore since we have Paul to make them for us. If he changed the name to Paul's "PERFECT" Pot Pies, no one would even blink. They are that good and the option to stray from the traditional chicken and veggie makes this place even better. One stop and the whole family can be made happy with their selections. We have made this our go to when taking supper over to new parents, sick neighbors and folks needing a good homemade meal. Thank you Paul for what you and your team does for us every day. GO see Paul! Enjoy...

Fantastic! I stumbled upon this delightful culinary find about a year and a half ago. Whenever I travel from Illinois to visit my son in Florida, I stop in to pick up my two favorite pies - pot roast; and chicken. One of my favorite finds!

Excellent! Highly recommended! High quality pies, filled with choice meats. Excellent value. Personable owner welcomes his customers. A great place and an asset to Marietta Square.

Enjoy...
