Very friendly bar tenders. They know your name. Bathrooms are not the cleanest. This is crowded everyday even on a very hot Monday night. The food is awesome I recommend the fish tacos. They do not lie about their hummus it is famous. If you try it once I bet you will try it again. Salad is mediocre but, the burgers totally make up for that. The money would be $$. This gets a 7 out of 10.

I don't like writing stinky reviews on places where my friends know the owner. But my perspective is if you cannot be honest and tell them why you aren't returning they can never change to get your business back. This is a cool place. Really friendly people and it is easy to see the level of quality put into service, the menu and quality of the food. But my dish of pasta bolognese wasn't even hot. The cheese added to it never offered a hint of melting. Additionally the food had almost no sodium. No sodium = no flavor. Most of the dishes prepared I can make myself so I know first hand. Lastly when asked by our waitress Stephanie if my date wanted another glass of wine and we responded with a no, Stephanie brought out another anyways. We paid for but left without touching the glass. The evening ended for me a few hours later when I needed to take a few tums as the food never sat well with me afterwards. I hope this was an off night for Mirko and I am one of the few with a not so great experience. Good chance I will not be returning.

Bottom line: really tasty pasta dishes in a pleasant, warm decor. We've been here several times and the food has always been top notch. For dinner, there are set entrees that you can order, or you can pair up your favorite pasta with your favorite sauce -- and they have plenty of both. The price for entrees is generally $15-$25, and the pasta-sauce pairing maxes out at $13, although you can add meatballs, vegetables, chicken, or seafood for an extra $4-$5. They have every type of pasta under the sun -- from simple rigatoni to spinach tagliatelle -- and a variety of filled raviolis, which is always my preference (butternut squash, mushroom, shrimp and lobster, four cheese...) The portions are average -- this isn't Maggiano's where you'll be taking home enough for lunch tomorrow -- but overall the sauces and pasta are really solid. In addition to the rolls they bring, this time we got the Bruschetta as an appetizer, which turned out to be three grilled crostini piled with diced tomatoes and drizzled with olive oil, accompanied by a decent side salad. Savory and satisfying. For the entree, I opted for the lobster and shrimp ravioli topped with the "Granchio" sauce, which is a white wine and olive oil sauce with copious amounts of lump crab meat. I worried this would be seafood overload, but oh no -- it was great, and I was impressed with the amount of lump crab meat in the sauce (although I did get a few pieces of shell). I honestly feel guilty spending money on pasta because it's so cheap to make at home, but every time I come here, the food is spot on and I don't regret the decision. In the past, we've gotten the cheese ravioli with the arrabiata sauce, which is a tad spicy but amazingly flavorful, and the chicken Parmesan is also well-prepared, although the sauce there is a little too spicy for my liking. Sometimes they have Scoutmob deals, and they have daily drink specials, too, like half-price wine bottles on Mondays. Lunch is cheaper, so you can always start there, too, if you want to check out a reduced menu at a cheaper price.

Excellent homemade and all fresh pastas and sauce. Atmosphere and service was great. Food was great. The owner, Mirko, made sure we were well taken care of. Don't miss out on this restaurant!!

The price is fair, the food is great... All and all definitely worth stopping in when you're in the mood for Italian

This place is great. Intimate atmosphere without seeming stuffy. The pasta is homemade and you can really taste the difference. I had the mushroom pasta with the Funghi sauce. A great combination. Prices are resonable and portions are perfect. Our server, Sarah, was very friendly, informative, and enthusiastic about the menu. Food came out really quick. Vegan and vegetarian friendly, which is hard to find in the suburbs. Definitely recommending.

Last week, we ate at Mirko's in Marietta off Johnson Ferry Rd. We ordered the Calamari as an appetizer. It was poorly prepared. We received primarily a tomato type garnish salad and zucchini. There were approximately 6 Calamari rings on the entire plate. Only..... It was not fair for the price of the dish and the waitress did not notice that our dish was 90% tomatoes garnish and zucchini. I will never order this dish at Mirko again. Thank you.

This place is absolutely amazing! We went there for Valentines day and had a mix up with the menu. The manager allowed us to order anything we wanted on a night they had a fixed menu. The server was very efficient and helpful. On top of it all the food was FANTASTIC. Overall a 10 - star experience. Highly recommended and will definitely return!

Fantastic! Food was very good!! I was a little bit skeptical from the look of the outside. It looks like a typical suburban restaurant from the outside. I'm so glad I decided to give it a try! I had the bruschetta to start. Fresh, fresh fresh! Lasagna as a main dish. Just the right amount of cheese, pasta, sauce and meat.

I would give this place five stars just based on the bread and olive oil! The service has been off beat the last two times we went here, but the food is always a hit. I love the shrimp and lobster ravioli topped with the Granchio sauce, lump crab meat with olive oil. The funghi sauce is also delicious and the Salmon salad was fresh and flavorful. Can't wait to go back!
Very good pasta. They make all the paste fresh each day. Service was great and waiter took the time to explain the menu.

Its that kind of 'kids safe haven' whenever I have pick eaters (ok, they are not always kids) coming to town. Pick your pasta, sauce, bam, no sweat. Fair price and quick service does the final coating to a neat experience. Will the 3 stars go for the food? Not really. Although appreciate the effort on the home made bread and pasta, they are ok at best. But I had a quite good experience in the grilled salmon (aspargus and tomatoes on the side) which is consistent across the Mirko chain. Bottomline, if you are looking for a on a budget, non-complicated, and everybody gets some kind of place, you got it. And boy, aint that worth some stars every now and then? ----- updated on 03/20/2015 something I hardly do and see- a star rise! this place shaped up and is indeed now serving very decent and well ellaborated italian food. way to go!
This place is amazing! The service is always amazing, the food is consistently great, and the vibe is classy and relaxed. I make this a monthly visit with my boyfriend. Everything is priced well for a casual night out. They have a bar and back patio as well! Highly recommended, especially for getting away from the typical, boring East Cobb chain restaurants and 'bars'.

Went back for dinner to give mirko a second try and am pretty much feeling the same way about it. Service was better but food was mediocre. Our pasta wasn't cooked all the way and the portions were oddly a lot smaller than the lunch portion we got previously. On top of that, the restaurant was packed, not with people, but with staff. Seriosuly, 5 waiters just seemed to be standing around and talking very loudly.

This place is incredible to work with for catering events. Roxana is a great coordinator. Roxana and her team were very prompt, had great service and had exceptional attitudes. Our company does catered lunches every week and they always exceed expectations. Please keep them in the forefront of your minds when looking for places to cater in the East Cobb area.

Mirko Pasta looks like a trendy, Italian restaurant that offers decent prices for lunch. The lunch deals here cost about $7.99 a plate, which seems like a decent deal to me. Just like a good Italian restaurant, they also give you complimentary bread at the beginning. The bread tasted great. It was soft, fluffy, and had a great buttery taste. They give you this dip made with mashed fava beans and olive oil to dip your bread in. The mashed fava bread reminds me of hummus. It tasted interesting, and I liked it. I tried their Rigatoni Pomodoro lunch special and ordered extra meatballs for $3 more. The meatballs were golfball sized and only gave you 2. I was disappointed to be charged more than a $1 for a dinky-sized meatball. But the meatballs did taste good. They spiced it well and had great taste. I liked it a lot, but it seemed overpriced. The Pomodoro sauce had a great tangy taste. Overall, the Rigatoni Pomodoro tasted good. I had no complaints. For dinner, the concept looks simliar to Figo Pasta. You choose your pasta and the sauce. They also offer paninis, salads, and other Italian dishes. Mirko Pasta looks like a good place to go for Italian if you're deep in East Cobb.

For some quick pasta this is a great place!!!! I usually get a to to go order. Love their Norma and the Pesto sauce!!! Their Alfredo is not my favorite. It is quick, its good, and I love the service!! Nice neighborhood place. It's better to me than Olive Garden other than missing those yummy garlic knots.

Pasta is clearly very fresh and the selection is extensive. The decor is nice, quiet but still active. Good for group dinners and dates. The biggest selling point, of course, is the price. Most meals are under $15, which is great. The only reason I give it 4 stars is the service: they're sometimes inattentive and slow, especially if the restaurant is busy.

I love this place. The food, staff, and management are top notch. The food is moderately priced almost nothing over $16 dollars. You pick a pasta, sauce, protein and they do all the rest. The pastas are fresh made and there are several options. There are also plenty of options if pasta isn't your thing. My favorite is the cioppino. On Monday nights, wines are half off. It's a good deal, but I remember when they were the price of one glass. I was wondering when they would increase the price because it was easily one of the best deals around. But, I also love their sangria - it's some of the best I've ever had. Going on a Thursday evening gets you $1 sangrias all night. I've never had a bad experience here - and I go frequently.

Just ordered food at Mirko Pasta on Johnson Ferry. Ok WOW. We walked in and it is by far THE CLEANEST RESTAURANT IN ATLANTA. We frequent local food places and this place was not only Amazingly clean. The manager greeted me with professionalism and The food BRAVO. Ovation. EAST COBB and all of atl go to visit this location. See you there. Sinatra playing in the background brought the flare.

Love the place. Love the food. A great hidden gem in East Cobb. We eat there or pick up food from there at least once a week, not because we are out of food at home but simply because it is the best pasta at a reasonable price in the Atlanta area. It's a small spot but it has a lot of the bells and whistles of the nicer restaurants, even a few remarkable wine on the list, without the added price tag. A must try.

Mirko has become our neighborhood go-to for an easy mid-priced meal. Very consistent and always has a good crowd. Love their take on Chicken Parm (nice and spicy) and the steak is tasty too. Pastas are pretty solid across the board.

As of this review, I have already made plans to come back with a friend. I'm sure that they will be quite as pleased as I am with this place. I came during lunch time which was rather low in traffic at that point in time. I sat in a booth in awe at the ''classy simplicity'' that adorned the atmosphere of the restaurant. This place is more lit and just a bit more different than most Italian restaurants than you may see right down to the old style opaque office doors from the 1940's. My waiter was very informative by the short but well-described menu. He told me of the different sauces that they offer home made and this made it very hard to choose. Paninis? Pastas? I'm glad with my choice of the minestrone soup accompanying the fettuccine and meatball dish, however. (I added the salmon which was very delicious!). As small as the dish seemed at first, I felt it was very filling and even had enough to take home! The meatballs are a nice size and I'm very impressed with the white bean dip that comes with the bread complimenting the arrival of the guests! The dishes also seem very affordable. I'm surprised it was not more busy at the time that I visited! This place by customer service, cleanliness, professionalism, and quality in food blows many places out of the water! This place is worth a spontaneous visit and I can't wait to come back with many more friends! If you are wanting to check out this place for the evening with friends, I do recommend calling ahead to see about availability of space. I heard that evenings can be VERY busy. If dinner is anything like lunch however, it is well worth the effort and time! The food is simply ambrosial! It doesn't get much better in the area than this! The service is exquisite and attentive. Do take it from me that this would do well to go on your ''Must Try'' list!

We have eaten here about once a month since it has opened and have always enjoyed our meals The menu has expanded over time to include more nightly specials This is really helpful so you dont become bored with the menu The specials have been hit and miss Some if them have veen excellent and sime have been losers Any time we have had something that was not to our liking it was gladly taken off the bill and a substitute from the regular menu brought out The service has always been good and this is not because we are regulars There is enough turnover in the staff that no one person really recognizes us and gives us any special treatment it is a nice neighborhoid pasta place that keeps improving They are now getting their bread from Holman and finch here in atlanta and that alone is a great reason to visit

Great place to eat. If you request something that is not on the menu they will attempt it. I have to say the chefs did an amazing job. Best Gnocchi I've ever had.

The food here is fresh and delicious. It's like being in Italy. The bean dip is flavorful and desired for the appetizing bread; which is also house-made and fresh. Brandon (assistant manager) is professional. I would suggest to eat here when Joe or Brandon are the manager (which is any day of the week.)

The pasta is made fresh every day. The sauce is made daily and I have never had a bad dish. One thing they have stopped serving the bean dip with the bread as of yesterday. The bean dip was a big draw for me and my friends.

We stopped by here because we were nearby and didn't want Chipotle again (plus, we're a family that loves pasta). I've seen the Mirko Pasta in Sandy Springs and have always wanted to try it out. I assumed it was like Figo Pasta and in some aspects, it is (you can "make your own pasta"), except, it's just not as good. Service was okay. I really wish the waitress would offer water to my son without me having to ask for it. Most restaurants do this and I love when they take the initiative or at least ask. I shared the lasagna with my son and my husband had fusili pasta with shrimp. I know Figo Pasta does this too, but I really hate when they charge extra for meat. It's great for the vegetarians in the world, but we are a meat eating family and would rather the price of meat be included in the meal. The food was quite simply underwhelming - it just wasn't good. My husband's pasta was bland tasting and only came with 3 shrimp (for $3), and the lasagna was bland as well. My son loves lasagna and well, while he ate this one, he wasn't in love. I will say, however, that the bread and rolls that come out before your meal are very good. They were nice and hot when they came out and I thoroughly enjoyed them. At the end of the day, I might come back here to try some of the other pastas, but would really prefer Figo pasta to this place.

I've been to this Mirko location several times and have had a great experience. So far this evening I've been very dissatisfied. At least 3 tables around us were seated after and have been served. Keep in mind they were asked by the server, "do you know what you'd like?" That was the only question. We waved down the manager, or at least some random older gentleman in a collard shirt to get some water. He filled my wife's glass half way then walked off. Next he went to the pass through to mock the other employees by making a whining noise saying, "oh no your busy." Seems like a huge cluster. My wife has had her food for 20 minutes and I'm still waiting for them to get mine out. What a joke.

we like mirko's & have shared it w/several couples - another 2 tonite,,, you know how, sometimes, you're high on a restaurant then, when sharing it w/others, it falls down & you wind up w/egg on your face ? has NEVER happened w/mirko on johnson ferry rd. read someone else's review ( john b - NOT me ) who posted he waited 49minutes to be served,,, anyone who'd sit & wait for 49min w/o complaining to the mgr deserves what he gets,,, i wouldn't & haven't done that - 1 thing i've learned overt the years - IF you don't tell mgmt what's wrong, they can't correct it - telling the waiter/'tress is often pointless,,, likewise, do the same if your server's on the ball,,, i manage a business that depends on referrals - we'd not be successful otherwise. note to the other ' john b ' - nest time, vote w/your shoes AND your wallet ! & be glad you weren't at zeal !

i ate here with my sister recently for her birthday. I'd seen Mirko several times when I'd been in the area for work, but never tried it. They have a decent beer and wine list. The menu isn't exhaustive, but they pair their protein and pasta/sauce very well (and give you the option to make your own). When my sister had a question about pasta types, instead of a vague description, the server came out with a tray that showed the types and also explained what the options were for sauces. I had the chicken parm with the Amatriciana sauce, and my sister had pasta alfredo. We also split the spinach salad. The portions were enough for our main course, and we also were able to split the salad without a problem. The pasta and sauce were both obviously made fresh in house. While I would have liked some more sauce on my chicken, the chicken was still tasty and well-cooked. I had a gift certificate, and when I presented it, the manager came out to thank me for visiting and ask if I had any comments. I'm not in the area often where I can have a real sit-down meal, but Mirko is better than most Italian chains. I'll be visiting again when I have the chance.

I've been to Mirko several times now and every time the food is fantastic. My boyfriend loves it as well. Pasta is all handmade and very affordable. I personally love the zucca dish which is butternut squash ravioli in a creamy white sauce. It is soo yummy! My boyfriend tried the chicken parm and I tried a bite, it was literally the best chicken parm I've ever tasted! flavor perfection! The staff is always great but sadly I never see the same servers. The bread is served warm with a bean dip. It's very unique but I like the bread more than the dip. I also love the bruschetta it's small but very appetizing. I've been to other restaurants like Maggianos that are in the higher price range but the dishes we're mediocre compared to the more affordable Mirko I highly recommend this place!

Great decor, small wine bar in the front; large kitchen opening to see the kitchen team fast at work. The A/C is thumping, music is light, wooden table tops & black mesh leather booths are greeted with silver tins of bread & water. Some olive oil & hummus mixture featuring sprinkled herbs...yum! Enjoy their pairing of meat & seafood or pick your own. Choose your noodle or ravioli filling...match with pasta sauce & add meat/seafood for $3! I had the fusili with a spicy pomodora sauce & got 3 spicy meatballs for a mere $3 add-on!!!! Seriously a fabulous spicy meatball** Great place for cute date night!

Pick a pasta and pick a sauce. That's the bottom line, and they do it oh so well. We are Sandy Springs people but gladly travel over the river for this place. We are loving it! Go on a Thursday night before the weekend ramps up and enjoy $1 sangria..... did you hear that? Enjoy a glass outside, watch all the East Cobb cars zip by and just relax and listen to the good music. Note: they have great music playing outside. It adds so much to the atmosphere. We've tried several stuffed raviolis and working our way down the sauce list. Latest one was a sausage sauce with mushrooms and a bit of cream. De-lish! Staff and managers are attentive in just the right way.

So I went here with my father and sister and all 3 of us agreed- This place is terrible. 1) The only seating they had was outside on the hot summer day for another 30 minutes, so we decided to go along with it and sat outside. 2) After we ordered our food, we had to sit for exactly 49 minutes before our food was brought out. We ate overall 3 bread baskets before they decided to bring out our order. It was a busy day, we get it, but 49 minutes? 3) Waiting this long we had hoped that the food was worth the wait. It wasn't. My father's dish was a ravioli dish but was as hard as the bread they brought out. When you have to chew a single bite of ravioli for a good minute, you know something is wrong. My sister's dish, which was some variant to steak (not quire sure what it was) was decent, but not worth the price. If I remember correctly, it was an $18 meal that looked to be prepared with $3 of ingredients. Apparently I got the worst of the 3. My dish was covered AND I MEAN COVERED in grease. The sauteed onions on the side were disgusting. It literally felt like slime in my mouth. But the worst has yet to be written. My ravioli were soft but the insides were terrible. I don't know what I was eating but I can tell you one thing: I will never eat that ever again. 4) We told our waiter that the dishes were very below standard, and so as compensation they decided to bring out a single dish of ice cream for us on the house. While it was good, there was one itsy-bitsy problem: the waiter did not bring us out a spoon. So in the hot summer weather our ice cream melted as we waited for him to bring us out a spoon, which he never did. So we had to end up using unused knives as utensils to eat the ice cream (very barbaric). Overall we had a terrible time here. We even swore to ourselves to never come back to such a mediocre establishment.

Sooo, we heard this was started by the guy who started FIGO, and we love us some FIGO up in here, up in here. So, we gave it a go, because, hey! We love eating lots of different places! Come on! So, my beloved and I headed to this one because it's closest. To start, we had a small wait, about 10 minutes on a busy Friday. Not that bad, I say. I ordered the four cheese ravioli with the crab, tomato, olive oil and red pepper topping. Freaking delicious. No lie. Gonna go back and down this dish lots more times in my life. My wife got some kinda screwy pasta with alfredo sauce. Hey, I know, it's boring, but that's what she wanted. And she liked it. I had a nice glass of Sangiovese, too. To top off the great meal that came out in a nice, timely manner, we got a free piece of their amazingly delicious Tiramisu because it was our first visit! SCORE, and it was FREAKING DELICIOUS, PEOPLE!! GET IT! So, love this place, just wish it was closer to me in Smyrna. Boom, I'm a fan.

Running errands, I needed a place to grab a quick lunch. Pulled up Yelp, and saw I was near here. Mmmmm....pasta, and what a perfect day for it (below 20 degrees out!). So I pulled into a parking spot right outside the door and dashed in. A member of the staff instantly greeted me, and when I said table for one, asked me if I preferred a booth or to sit at the small bar. While the bar was inviting, it was adjacent to the front door. Did I mention it was below 20? I opted for a booth. He brought me bread and a, well, sort of dip while I looked at the menu. I'm a simple pasta eater, so I ordered rigatoni with arrabiatta sauce. They have several kinds of noodles (including whole wheat and gnocchi) and twice as many sauces. They also offer pasta dishes like lasagna and chicken parmesan, paninis, salads and more. There's a kids menu as well (and as of this writing, kids eat free on Wednesday with paying adults). A wine and beer list is also available, as is a dessert menu. Two pieces of bread - a roll and a slice - were served warm and in a parchment lined galvanized pail. A small dish of what appeared to be an olive oil/bean dip sort of combo was served with it, and while it was certainly okay, I would've preferred just olive oil (maybe they offer it upon request, but I didn't ask). The bread was good enough to finish off! The pasta was served promptly, a decent portion size for lunch, and I finished it all. It was well-dressed in sauce, the noodles were cooked right, and the spice level was low-to-moderate (I could've had it kicked up a few notches). Grated parmesan is offered with your pasta. Add an unsweet tea that was refilled promptly, and a server who checked that all was fine, and I've found a great place to eat. They offer daily food specials as well as restaurant specials, e.g., the Wednesday kids eat free offer (there was also a current 'purchase a bottle for the price of a glass' offer on Monday nights that caught my attention because wow!). If you're in the area, stop in. Parking is plentiful, staff is friendly and attentive, and the food is good!

Wish I could review some of the pastas that are highly raved about. Went on Valentines Day and they had like a 5 course menu that was followed. The entree was a choice between Sea Bass or Lamb Chop. We weren't a huge fan of either. The Buttersquash soup was good and salmon tartar as well. Dessert was a passion fruit mousse pie which was good. Service was great, but gotta give 3 stars for this visit due to us not being fans of the entrees.

I was not sure about this place, but the pasta (all homemade) was fantastic. The traditional Itallian snacks were great. We'll be sure to go back again to try other dishes. Great for quick quality pasta -- if you can get a seat.

It was our first time at this Marietta/Roswell Road location. With no expectations and no recommendation from anyone, we entered the place to find it packed. The service was a bit slow, but the food was excellent. The hot rolls & bread were delicious. My wife had the gouda & tomato ravioli with white wine & basil sauce. I had fettucini alfredo with shrimp. Both were wonderful!!! Homemade pasta and excellent sauces. I had a nice chianti with my meal. Quite enjoyable. Saw several dishes go by to other tables that looked interesting. We'll go back again.

To get to the point there was a hair in my food, so I politely sent It back and got another new plate, great meal but then my check came, full price, I asked for some compensation to my waitress and she said the owner already said no. We asked to talk to the owner, and he came over, he was the chain owner, his name was Mirko... He said that he would not compensate my meal, because there is no one in the kitchen with long blonde hair and blamed it on my table, I had one friend with me with blonde hair, and he went on saying that we planted it in there. After being extremely rude and disrespectful to us he finally offered free desert, which we turned down because we were full, and still wouldn't give a discount, I said I did not want to pay full price after finding hair in my first meal and he said if I didn't pay he would call the police, so we waited it out and finally gave up because the man was wasting our time so I paid and left. As my friends And I were leaving one of their cars broke down and we had to push it back in to a parking spot to be towed, as we were pushing it he was leaving to his car and just looked and kept walking, then sped away. Beyond upset with the whole situation. Would never go back.

Had the tagliatelle with mushroom sauce and it was heavenly! I came from Toronto where it was so diverse and multicultural and I miss the food. The pasta here reminded me of the quality and taste back home ... New go to Italian spot!

Another good new restaurant in the East Cobb Area. We had great outdoor seating on a Tuesday night, with no wait. Our waitress was very nice and didn't rush us. You can choose what type of pasta you want and then the type of sauce. While there are several varieties of regular pasta, I needed gluten-free, so while they had that, they don't have a GF version of all pastas. When I told the waitress I was going to do GF pasta, she put that order in immediately because it does take a bit longer to cook, and this way all three of us were able to get our entrees at the same time. After you choose your pasta you also choose the sauce you want. Most of these are also GF, so I chose the Salciccia- one of my favorite sauces and I loved it. Not too heavy at all- just right for the evening. I started my meal with a spinach salad which I also very much enjoyed. They've got a decent, although not hugely extensive wine list. I tried the house organic Pinot Grigio and was well pleased. All three of us loved our meals. I will definitely be heading back to Mirko.

I wouldn't consider this an Italian restaurant it is a pasta restaurant. The service was great, the food was good (although not filling) and the prices are moderate. If I lived it GA I'd go back and try other dishes. We loved their homemade baked bread too.

Why is everyone calling it hummus? It's bean dip. The server says this every time we have been served there. Some of these reviews don't make much sense, or some reviewers are purposely complaining. $3 dollar meat add ons are for 3 meatballs, or chicken or something. If you add shrimp I've always gotten 5. We have been here a handful of times, and the food "can" be hit or miss. I guess it really depends on who is cooking that day, same with the servers.

Mirko Pasta is understated excellence. If you can find balance in each sauce, refined preparation of the vegetables, or the harmonyof herbs and spices which maes his food taste so much like the Italian fare of the Piedmontese, then please tell me where it is in Atlanta? The setting appears A frame kitsch but the atmosphere is so similar to Euro country style , that if you have ever been anywhere in your life you will know what I mean by not mistaking humility for being any less comfortable then if you were relying on Michelin stars. Simply said his staff is focused, and this guy knows good fresh food, and is an expert at what he does in terms of style and fit because his labor is not just trained, but serious about what they handle. OK...enough about function and design...i ate the Eggplant appetizer and was so pleased to find the sauce fresh and not overlooked tomatoes with a fried slice of this oft misunderstood squash variant. It was out of the garden perfect with soft, almost burata textured mozzarella folded between the eggplant and the marinara in a shallow dish and a generous portion. Next was tagliatelle with sauce Mare a piquante blend of genty peppered and herbaceous gravy with the fresh egg pasta al dente! Shelly and aromatic with shrimps and mussels, clams and fresh small scallops. Flavorful with not too much garlic. After three glasses of Montepulciano, and yes on Monday the entire bottle for the price of a glass was followed by a mixed salad with the cleanest and brightest citrus herbs of Mediterranean blend lettuces that just made the dinner seem as though we were somewhere in a low mountain Italian village, off Piste. You will be hard pressed to find this quality anywhere else in suburban America.

It was strange that this place is right down the street and I had no idea it was there, they also just put a new location in my old restaurant in Buckhead so I have no idea how this got by me, I love italian, cause I am one. 90% of the italian places in this town are "non troppo buona", not good. I met some of the servers out one night and they told me I should go so I did, this is really my second stop but the first time I sat down and really ate, last time just had an app at the bar. Mirko is much like Figo, which I love but I think Mirko may be a tad better, I think they buy better ingredients is why. They make there own past daily and have lots of great sauces as well, carpachio is pretty good and the calamari is quite good. I had the linguine, which looked more like pappardelle, over Frtti di Mare, the fruit of the sea, was great. The little necks were a tad small but the sauce was fab. They have a decent wine list that very well priced and a house red and white for $5 a glass. The staff is great, I seem to know all of them now, if not all by name but by face. Go see Houston at the bar or Alexis who waits table, they rock! The decore is straight out of Milan, new wold cool but with the high ceilings it can get a tad noisy at times, I like it but the rents were not hip on the noise. Great patio but it has been to cold both times to sit out there. I have to see what they did with my old store in Buckhead someday soon.

I dined at Mirko's for the first time tonight with my family, at first I was a little apprehensive about this place, as "pick your own pasta/sauce dish" lead me to believe it was a hot-light/fast lunch type of place. It's a very nice sit down restaurant, with plenty of room to spare and a nice little bar area. I ended up ordering the Tagliatelle Grachio, and it was absolutely delicious. Somehow my order came out later than the rest of my family's, and to make up for the mishap they comped my meal and gave me a free dessert(I picked the Tiramisu and it was amazing!!). Our waitress Amber was super nice and apologetic about the incident, it was honestly not a big deal. I appreciated their genuine customer service. The rest of my family enjoyed their dishes as well, fantastic all around. This is definitely a place I would recommend to friends and co-workers, I will be dining here again!

YES! The rolls are yumm, but seriously, save room for the main event. I have tried 2 dishes here and they are both a) big enough for 2 meals, and b) tastier than any other chain Italian place. The mushroom ravioli with mushroom and Italian sausage sauce is impressive.

Wow, I should have never strayed from the pasta. Not only did I have to fight to get our server's attention multiple times (she didn't seem that busy, just not paying attention to our table) nor was the restaurant that busy but the food was all bad.. My panino was like trying to eat shoe leather and the server didn't even know it was supposed to be served cold, she had to ask the kitchen. My wife had the special which was chicken and peppers in a tomato sauce that was made out of nothing but unripe tomatoes with next to no pepper or chicken in it. I sent the sandwich back twice and still did not eat the sandwich and was charged full price for it after multiple complaints. I will probably never return as the rest of the staff looked just as useless... Even when they noticed me trying to get my server's attention they just turned and hid. I now understand why every time I go there they have less and less customers.

Mirko was great. Lots of interesting fresh pasta options. Waiter was friendly and courteous, and brought us a free tiramisu for being first-timers. I had a chicken fettuccini alfredo and it was awesome.

This review is for the new Mikro location on Roswell Rd in Buckhead. We went there for dinner tonight and were pleased to have found a new spot nearby that we like! We started with the bruchetta, it was quite good and had a strong olive taste to it. It was a little expensive, three small pieces for $5, but very good. For dinner I got the gnocchi with the cream/parmesan/peas/ham/mushroom sauce - both the pasta and the sauce were great. My husband got the sausage and apples ravioli with an olive oil based sauce with chunky tomatoes. The ravioli was just ok, not our favorite-it didn't have a strong apple flavor at all. The sauce was just basic. Our only other complaint was with the bread and bean/olive oil dip. The bread tasted like frozen rolls they heated up and the dip was not appealing. Wuld have been better off with good bread and the dip or just olive oil. Definitely a good neighborhood spot

Pasta is homemade and very delicious! Live music was very good and entertaining. Kid friendly or date night. A great meal!

Great fresh pasta choices with very good and good sauces. Not too expensive. Small, but nice decor and outside seating. Good service.

I'm baffled by the number of 5-star reviews. Our visit to this location would not prompt a quick return. The food was bland, not inexpensive, and our server was either new, or out to lunch. It was over $60 for four people, and that was entrees alone. I'd rather drive intown and go to EATS for half the price.

You can taste the freshness of the noodles and sauces here. I had the green lasagna and it was excellent! I have only ordered take-out...I haven't actually been inside the restaurant. Very fresh tomato taste in the sauce and the cheese was creamy and flavorful. I don't like pasta very much, but when you are craving fresh ingredients and good Italian food, Mirko gets the job done!

Tonight was my boyfriend and I's two year anniversary. We didn't want to go anywhere super duper fancy...this place was perfect. All of the employees from the host, to the runner to our waiter, were exceptional. The bruschetta was really good. Yes you only get three, but I don't think anyone is hurting that bad for 5 bucks. Try it. I will most definitely be back.

We went to the new Mirko's this past weekend and really liked the atmosphere - very urban without being too posh. Our waiter was a little eager - kept coming by the table after we ordered our food but before we got it asking if we were doing ok...seriously he came by about 5 times! The food seemed to take a little long to get out, but there was a big table before us and I think that is fairly typical while getting everyone in sync at a new place. So getting down to it - the food was great. Loved the warm bread, crusty on the outside soft on the inside and toasty warm. Would have preferred to mix up my own EVOO but can live with what they provided. Pasta was aldente and I could have licked the sauce from my bowl - I can't remember the name of the sauce but it was a cream sauce with fresh peas and mushrooms - one of my favorites from Topo Giggio in Chicago! Not to mention my son who is the world's pickiest eater (age 3) ate everything on his plate and actually asked for some sauce instead of eating plain noodles. So food was good, could have been there faster - waiter was a little clingy before re food arrived and then never seemed to cone back. Definitely will go back - but don't make me ask for a noodle spoon next time!

Good spot for pasta. I enjoyed some whole wheat pasta. The bean dip with olive oil was good, but not my favorite. Glad to see them mix it up a little bit. The service was excellent. My wife really enjoyed the food, it was ok for me.

We stopped by here the other night in the mood for pasta. I wasn't expecting a whole lot but came away impressed. Its very similar to what you get at Figo - pick your pasta, picke your sauce, ect. Figo is pretty good but what I had at Mirko was even better. My fusilli was fresh and excellently seasoned. Service was fast and friendly. I was impressed, we will be back.

It was okay, with some good and some bad. Waiter, I think wasn't so bright, but anyway...My daughter had marsala chicken, and it was soooo salty! I had the lasagna verda...that was quite yummy! bread was awesome, even though bread is devil food. The white bean dip, I am sure, most like it, but I don't care for the texture of this or hummus type food,so I cannot really judge. I won't go back on my own, but if friends say to meet up there, I would not complain! just won't go out of my way.

This was a pleasant surprise! Mirko is a nice, casual, bright restaurant in Merchant's Walk next to Gigi's Cupcakes (YUM! but I digress). They feature a list of "marry your favorite pasta and sauces" but also have specialties of the house, all of which are reasonably priced and quite good. I had the lasagna which was flavorful and lighter than expected. I also mooched ravioli with pesto, a wonderfully fresh primavera and a few deliciously light (and not gummy) gnocchi from my dinnermates' meals (it's all in la famiglia). This was a winner and well worth some return visits. Mangia!

For Atlanta, it would be a 4 for value, environment, freshness of pasta. But if you're from New England, just so you know, Southerners have a tendency to overcook their pasta and call it "al dente." If you get a thicker grade pasta, e.g., penne, etc., you might be okay because it's hard to overcook fresh pasta. BUT, if you like thinner pasta, they'll overcook it so that it'll resemble pad thai egg noodles (again, no good thai food in Atlanta.) My test is to always get linguine alla vongole (white.) The sauce was good, I guess, but it definitely wasn't alla vongole. AND, they don't have linguine...they only have tagliatelle and tagliolini. I'd never heard of taliaolini before last night, but it's too thin yet wide of a noodle to be good for anything...angel hair holds cream better. For what it's worth, it's the best Pasta that Atlanta has to offer. But pretty much any pasta served in Atlanta would go out of business in Providence or Boston within a week.

We like to go to Mirko's on weekends for made from scratch pasta and sauce. The servers bring over a tray with samples of dry pastas and the kids like to pick out which ones they would like that day. I like the spinach and beet salad myself. Just an easy, cool looking place with good food and nice Sangria. The kids like the pasta with alfredo. If you go early enough seating is easy but the lines get longer towards 6:30 - 7:00 pm

Mirko's is off to a great start. Had the calamari for a starter - very good, nice and cripsy, plenty of flavor in both the coating and the sauce. Had the chicken marsala - the sauce was great, not too thick and full of flavor. The bread was good. Everything is reasonably priced and the service was good. Only downside is they bring olive oil with some bean dip in it - keep it simple, just bring me the olive oil.

I got food poisoning after eating here last Friday night. I had the chicken and arugula salad and woke up several hours later really ill, which made for quite an unpleasant weekend. The food came out quickly despite it being a fairly busy night there (perhaps the salad wasn't rinsed thoroughly or the chicken was undercooked). I contacted Mirko about the incident and they seemed appreciative for the feedback so that they could look into the matter. I certainly hope they did look into it.

My meal was one of the worst I've eaten from a restaurant in a long time. I'm not sure what food category this food qualifies for but it sure isn't Italian. From the kind of bread (far from Italian bread) and hummus (I don't think that's Italian, is it?) to the WORST 'Bolognese' sauce, homemade pasta and dry disgusting meatballs--this was NOT an Italian meal. It was a horrible faux nothing of a meal. I won't go back.

FINALLY, an Italian restaurant like this in East Cobb. If you love the Figo locations, you'll love this too. (In fact, I like some things at Mirkos better.) The menu is much the same - affordable and varied. I believe the owner was once affiliated with Figo, but I'm not sure how. Spinach salad with golden raisins - yum. We enjoyed all raviolis that we tried (apple and sausage, ricotta, crab). Crab and white wine sauce is awesome. The restaurant isn't perfect, but it's a great addition to Johnson Ferry. Give them a try.

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

(5)Amy W.
(5)Throng C.
Thank you.
(2)Gabrielle B.
(5)Chris P.
(5)Yusra S.
(4)Peter Gof L.
Impressed. Terrific!(I need to eat there a few times to give 5 stars/Consistency) Lauren the host/waitress "made" the night, and was extremely professional in her manner of righting [what I felt was]a wrong. After receiving my order(Asparagus Fusilli), I was wondering when I'd be receiving the accompanying asparagus. Being informed that there were flakes(/like spice) in the fusilli dish, I rejected the idea of calling it an actual asparagus entrée. Lauren then asked me if I would like her to go get a little dish of the vegetable, and proceeded to bring out a good portion of delicious asparagus branches which were very pleasing. PS: On a closing note, I went on Thursday, which I wasn't aware of until departing that it was Sangria night - servings of red sangria for $1. I was the designated driver, so it probably wouldn't have made a difference, but then again, I might've had "Just One" :)
(4)Jennifer W.
Very good pasta. They make all the paste fresh each day. Service was great and waiter took the time to explain the menu.
(5)Gabriel B.
----- updated on 03/20/2015 something I hardly do and see- a star rise! this place shaped up and is indeed now serving very decent and well ellaborated italian food. way to go!
(4)Joy S.
I've only been here a couple of times so far but I plan on many subsequent returns. Tasty pasta for a decent price. The first time we came I got the butternut squash pasta and my niece had pasta with marinara on one side and alfredo on the other. I not only inhaled my pasta but finished off my niece's when she was done. Seriously, when I'm salivating over a simple pasta of marinara and alfredo, you're doing something right. On my last visit, I made my Mom get the butternut squash pasta so I could steal some bites and I decided to try the crab one (yes, that's the best description I got. I could look up the name but I'm being lazy). It was good, albeit a little bland before I added a lot of pepper, but still very delicious. Although next time I think I'm going to take a stab at concocting my own pasta combo. I'm still on the fence with their olive oil/bean dip for the bread. It's good....I think? I don't really know. Again, I'm on the fence about it. Other than my blasé attitude about the bread, I love this place so far. Tip: Go on Mondays and get a bottle of wine for the price of a glass.
(4)Megan W.
(5)Agnes A.
(1)Jared B.

(4)Amy H.
(4)Connor J.
(4)Kischa J.

A must try.
(5)Brad R.
Mirko has become our neighborhood go-to for an easy mid-priced meal. Very consistent and always has a good crowd. Love their take on Chicken Parm (nice and spicy) and the steak is tasty too. Pastas are pretty solid across the board.

Just ran into Mirko for a quick to go order. The GM was working the bar and he was truly wonderful! Helpful, friendly and fast! Great experience. Will be back!!

(5)Robert Z.
(5)Bill J.

Been here several times and always pleased with the quality of the food, wine and service. Looking forward to our next visit.

we like mirko's & have shared it w/several couples - another 2 tonite,,, you know how, sometimes, you're high on a restaurant then, when sharing it w/others, it falls down & you wind up w/egg on your face ? has NEVER happened w/mirko on johnson ferry rd. read someone else's review ( john b - NOT me ) who posted he waited 49minutes to be served,,, anyone who'd sit & wait for 49min w/o complaining to the mgr deserves what he gets,,, i wouldn't & haven't done that - 1 thing i've learned overt the years - IF you don't tell mgmt what's wrong, they can't correct it - telling the waiter/'tress is often pointless,,, likewise, do the same if your server's on the ball,,, i manage a business that depends on referrals - we'd not be successful otherwise. note to the other ' john b ' - nest time, vote w/your shoes AND your wallet !

(5)Catherine A.
(5)Kelly D.
(4)Pete K.
Try the chicken parmesan tagliolina. The sauce is spicy and delicious and the chicken is tender and natural

Fresh, homemade pasta. Fresh, homemade sauce. Simply doesn't get any better. Delicious! By far fresher and higher quality than Olive Garden or any other expensive chain.
(5)Jason D.

(3)Samantha E.
I was not sure about this place, but the pasta (all homemade) was fantastic. The traditional Itallian snacks were great. We'll be sure to go back again to try other dishes. Great for quick quality pasta -- if you can get a seat.
(4)Carey C.
Fresh homemade pasta. Pasta is heavy but good. It is a small location so there maybe a wait. Friendly service.
(4)Erica N.
Great place! My husband and I are regulars here and the manager and staff are really awesome! The food is so delish and we especially love the $1 Sangria Thursdays. The prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is very chic, New Yorkish.
(5)Tom G.

(4)Nick P.
Excellent service and wonderful food- I went a little mushroom crazy last time with a mushroom stuffed ravioli in a mushroom sauce and it was delicious.
(4)Tim D.
Mare sauce very good but not as spicy as last time. If you like it spicy tell them. Second time with our server, Rich. Great guy.
(4)J.E. I.
Not impressed! Service messed up our order, very limited menu. Food wasn't that good. If you want pasta, go to a good Italian rest.
(1)Mary P.
I wouldn't consider this an Italian restaurant it is a pasta restaurant. The service was great, the food was good (although not filling) and the prices are moderate. If I lived it GA I'd go back and try other dishes. We loved their homemade baked bread too.
(4)Andy H.

(4)Heather W.
(5)Jenn K.
YES! The rolls are yumm, but seriously, save room for the main event. I have tried 2 dishes here and they are both a) big enough for 2 meals, and b) tastier than any other chain Italian place. The mushroom ravioli with mushroom and Italian sausage sauce is impressive.
(5)Chip W.
(1)Sam W.
Mirko was great. Lots of interesting fresh pasta options. Waiter was friendly and courteous, and brought us a free tiramisu for being first-timers. I had a chicken fettuccini alfredo and it was awesome.
(4)Lauren H.
(3)Piper W.
Pasta is homemade and very delicious! Live music was very good and entertaining. Kid friendly or date night. A great meal!
(5)Vlad U.
Great fresh pasta choices with very good and good sauces. Not too expensive. Small, but nice decor and outside seating. Good service.
(4)J D.
(1)Casey H.
(4)Nicole P.
(5)Jackie P.
(3)Jacob P.
Good spot for pasta. I enjoyed some whole wheat pasta. The bean dip with olive oil was good, but not my favorite. Glad to see them mix it up a little bit. The service was excellent. My wife really enjoyed the food, it was ok for me.
(3)Mark E.
(4)Brodie B.
Good place for quick italian that's not olive garden. Very friendly staff.
(4)Maya T.
(3)Peter U.

(3)Khushi G.
(4)P R.
(4)C. P.
(2)Amy D.

Excellent food. Great location. This area has needed a good Italian restaurant for some time. Gnocchi was fresh and very tasty.
