We go here on special occasions after church, often with extended family, when the buffet is served. It's the best way to please everyone. Today we met a group of 8 for Father's Day there. El Rodeo did not have the buffet out. When we inquired about it we were told it was out of order. We definitely would not have gone had we known there was no buffet. Just a heads up , you may want to call before making the trip if you are expecting the buffet. Don't know how long it will take to get it repaired but there was only a couple of tables filled today, definitely not usual crowd for a Holiday / Sunday.

Above average food and a decent amount for the price. I picked this place for the lunch buffet as the menu says Sunday to Friday, but it did not exist. Not a trauma - we settled on lunch fajitas and the nacho lunch special and were more than satisfied with our food, especially for the cost. Two meals under $7 each, served hot, in 10 mins, both tasty, with refills on salsa and water before we ran out - that's heaven on a weekday runaway for lunch.

When I moved to the area, I was looking for a Mexican place that does chicken nachos the way I like, so when I found this place, I was thrilled. Portions are filling, and the menu is not overpriced. So far we've never had to wait for a table and service is not bad. This has become my go-to Mexican place.

This is our go-to Mexican place in the area. They have everything from traditional Mexican food to more Americanized Mexican-by-numbers fare. But what I especially like is some of their specialty items, like Jerry's Chicken (cheese, spinach, mushrooms, and a whole lot of chicken) and the tequila lime chicken. Their Mexican-style guacamole--as in chunks of avocado instead of mashed avocado and a lot of lime juice--is also amazing, as in sometimes I just get that and chips for my dinner. My husband and I also frequently get fajitas and enchiladas, and they're consistently delicious. There's hardly ever a wait for dinner here, which is great for us impatient customers but makes me worry for the restaurant's continued success. The location is in a shopping center on Canton Rd. that is a little cumbersome to get in and out of, so perhaps that is why not as many people know about it when I mention it. There used to be karaoke on certain nights on the porch, but I know the KJs who hosted that moved away. I'd like to see karaoke here again and know that would be a huge draw for people in the area, especially on one of the slower week nights. This is a solid four-star Mexican place--great dishes, fast service, though the prices are a little high for the area for some items.

Chicken with onions and mushrooms was awfully good. Coming back for the buffet this week.

Apparently this is my step-dad's FAVORITEST Mexican place, like, ever. That is saying something because this guy does not hold back. He, my mother and I went for lunch the other day. From about 11-3ish, they do a lunch buffet. Not huge, but tasty and filling. I had chicken fajitas with peppers and onions, rice, and a ton of queso, and I was completely happy. Service (drink-filling) was okay, but they do bring you a huge 20 oz (or more) frosty steiner of soda or tea that comes with the buffet. There's a ton of room - we arrived at about 12:15 on a weekday and there was no huge crowd. I was treated to this meal so I'm not sure how much the buffet cost, but I can tell you that my parents only go for dealios, so it had to be a good one. I'd definitely go back for this buffet and would probably bring a group seeing as though there seemed to be a lot of room! Go Rodeo!

The salsa and guac was good, but the shrimp was undercooked in the salad I ordered. Felt rushed to order and leave as well.

One of the best Mexican restaurants around! We have been going here for years and it is always great! The service is amazing and they always remember us when we come in. Nachos Mara is mouth watery! Love this place!

I really like this restaurant. They have really good Mexican Food - including their hot chips and very good salsa. The salsa is perfect. It is not too hot, and not too mild. The staff is friendly too. They are located in a strip mall - which may make them hard to find - if you are just cruising by. I have been here for dinner only, and I highly recommend for a good dinner. Their Margaritas are also great. You can get this cute little pitcher. It is perfect for 2 or 3 people.

I have been going to this restaurant for many years, living not too far away. When I worked (before retiring), we took in their buffet, and always were very pleased with the cost and quality of the food. Yesterday, my daughter and I decided to take in the lunch buffet, and I looked on line to be sure of lunch times. According to their webpage, lunch lasts until 4:00 p.m. However, when we got there around 3:00, they told us the buffet had been put away, and said that we still were in time for the lunch menu. So, we decided to stay. Well, we both ordered a small bowl of queso dip each, and four tortillas (which in my opinion, should have been a given to include). We each ordered a menu item (hers being cheese quesadillas, and I ordered one taco, two enchiladas and Mexican rice. With that and two cokes, our total bill came up to 32.00 for lunch! And, to be very honest, nothing other than the cheese dip was worth worrying about. The food was not good, and I could have made it much tastier at home. I was extremely disappointed in both the quality of our food and the price for lunch. For that, we should have gone to Longhorns, had a steak dinner and we would have come out for less money. Needless to say, other than their buffet, they won't get these fools again!

This has been a regular lunch spot of mine for several years. They have a lunch buffet that offers hot, fresh food that is delicious. The buffet includes all of the standard mexican fare you would expect (taco beef, quesadillas, guacamole, etc.) plus hot queso dip for your fresh tortilla chips, perfectly seasoned fajita chicken and even chicken wings and nuggets for the kids that don't want mexican. The service is always great and the variety, flavor and value make El Rodeo a tough one to beat.

El Rodeo has some of the tastiest Mexican fare in the area! Their dishes are consistently good, the staff is unfailingly friendly and prompt, and there is hardly ever a wait for a table. It is in a pretty nondescript shopping center and although the atmosphere is not as festive as some other similar Mexican places nearby (like Chepe's or Paradise South of the Border), the food wins out by far and the restaurant is never overcrowded. I always leave El Rodeo feeling like I had great food and excellent service, which can be a rare thing. I'm a fan!

The food is delicious and at a really good price. I always get the vegetarian quesadilla special and it's always perfect. The waiters, though very friendly, are not always very attentive though. Probably because of the laid-back atmosphere. I love going there but I never go on date night when I have to be at the theatre on time.

My husband and I have regular lunch dates here. They offer a buffet. Recently raised the price and the drink was included in the price and they now charge for a drink separate. But I understand businesses have to make money. The food is good. The wait staff is friendly. We will continue to go. It's easy to get in, eat and get out. Plus they have some of the best pico de gallo I have ever had!

I've been eating at this restaurant for 20 years. They must be doing something right. The people and atmosphere are great. The drinks are great. The food is very good. The prices are going up like everyone else's are. The buffet at lunch is the best deal and it's every day. It's a real bargain on Sunday. The best value is the caviche and the chicken soup. They chunk a 1/2 avocado on top of the soup. It is so good. The guacamole salad was very disappointing. Iceberg shreds, a very small squirt of guac and that's it!! No tomato, no garnish. It's $4 which is completely not worth it. Order the chalupa - it's a much better value.

This review reflects only the lunch buffet. Items dried out and not much selection for the 8.25 you pay. I would pass on the buffet. As for menu items I would refer to others who have done a review here.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
