My review is based on a takeout order. I ordered the beef and chicken fajitas and the shrimp quesadilla. The fajitas were just normal fajitas with sour cream, guacamole, rice, lettuce, etc. Not much to rave about. The steak tasted dry and a little bland. I didn't get a chance to try the chicken. The shrimp quesadilla, on the other hand, was so good!! The grilled onions come on top, and the shrimp are seasoned. I loved it. Their chips and salsa are very good also! They give an individual portion of chips and salsa to every entree order for takeout. Salsa is spicy! I will definitely come back to try more things and definitely for the quesadilla.

This place really surprised me! Hubby and I came here after hearing good things from a coworker of mine, and were very impressed. We came around 8:45ish to a completely empty restaurant. They were having some kind of trivia night on one side of the restaurant, but I peeked through the lattice wall that separated the booths and it looked empty too. But do NOT let that deter you. The chips were served hot, salsa was fresh and delicious, and service was excellent. We ordered the Cuernavaca Grill for 2. You get a steaming hot platter of chicken, beef and sausage as well as rice, beans, guac and tortillas. OH.MY.GOODNESS. The chicken was amazing!!! Hubby said it was mojo (?) sauce. Beef was cut and seasoned perfectly. I did not care for the sausage too much, I think it was the consistency that threw me off. Hubby loved it though. Rice and beans were good too, did not try the guac because I don't like avocado. I know, I know, who doesn't like avocado??? Me, that's who lol. Our bill was $20 plus tax. Not bad for the amount of food we got and the quality. We will definitely be back!

I have been eating at this place for at least 15 years. I absolutely love everything on their menu- except seafood, which I don't eat anyway. The chips and salsa, white cheese dip, fajitas... I could go on and on. I visit as often as possible.

My husband and I have been searching Gwinnett for some really good American Mexican food and this place had it! The Carne Asada was amazing, most places around here overcook it but it was just right. Salsa is fresh and delicious! Loved it!

Staff is absolutely wonderful and helpful. Casual environment. Salsa was great, but the entrees were average. Stayed here for hours with some family and had a great time.

I was recently here on a Saturday night with a group of six. The place was fairly empty around 9 pm, so we had no problems being seated. I get the feeling they are family run. Everyone seemed rather friendly (at times). The food was decent, especially the vegetarian options. My vegetarian friend commented that this was the only Mexican restaurant she'd ever been to that had more than just a bean-and-cheese option for those who are inclined to pick veggies over meat. She ordered vegetarian tostadas (two tostadas with refried beans, vegetables, guacamole, and cheese on top). Another friend ordered the vegetarian fajitas, and it was quite a sight with a heaping, sizzling platter almost overflowing with grilled vegetables (zucchini, yellow squash, red potatoes, carrots, celery, broccoli, cauliflower, tomatoes). Her only complaint was that the veggies had an Asian flare because they were covered in sesame seeds, which was not mentioned on the menu. As for my mushroom quesadilla, it was filled with mushrooms and not dotted with only a few as I've typically found. And those in our party who ordered meat-based meals all seemed pleased as well. The only downside was that the staff became somewhat rude toward the end of the night. We might have outstayed our welcome but there were better ways of hinting at that without glaring at my friend's baby whenever he happened to cry, watching as I stood outside the restroom door for a good five minutes because it was locked (they never offered to unlock the door and I eventually realized it was not occupied), and then pouncing on the table like vultures as soon as we began to stand up. That definitely left a bad taste in my mouth. The smiles and well wishes returned only when we walked out the door. Considering that our group had gathered under sad circumstances, I hope my friends didn't notice.

Dined in for lunch. Small and cozy atmosphere. Our party ordered lunch specials #1, #5 and the chimichanga plate. Chips and salsa were good, but nothing more than ordinary. The taco was served in the shell that looks like ones made by El Paso. Meat was nothing special, just seemed like seasoned ground beef. Enchilada sauce was more like a mole. It had a nice flavor, but wasn't exactly what we thought it would be. Moderately priced. Excellent and friendly service. To sum it up, the place is ok, but definitely not legit Mexican food.

Too bad I cannot give negative stars. Our waitress was sweet and helpful. How could I tell her the food was the most disgusting I've had ever. It was not only NOT authentic because I don't expect that except in someone's home. No, it was plain gross. Thankfully I had to travel out of state and had some yummy food to erase this bad memory. I am now afraid to eat Mexican food in Georgia. Even he growing boys didn't want to eat it.

This restaurant was a nice surprise. We had an old standby Mexican restaurant close near our house so we decided to drive out of our way to try something new. The portion sizes are enormous. You get a ton of food for the price here. Any of the dinner combinations are a hit and most are less than $10. The shrimp fajitas were seasoned with a dry rub or something and had an excellent aroma. The restaurant has lots of space on the inside and patio seating on the outside. They have Keno and Lottery which makes me think it's also a trivia, poker, or other late night activity place.

This place has great food at a great price, however, after a recent birthday party for a friend, our entire party of 9 had their credit card information stolen and used in Miami, FL totaling thousands of dollars within days of each other. We have narrowed it down to this place because this group of friends are rarely at the same place together and we all had our info used within days or even hours of each other in the same location. The waitress took our cards for a noticeably long time that night to the point a few people actually commented that our info was being stolen. We have contacted the GM/ Owner of this establishment and no one will return our calls. The police have been notified, but seriously, be careful. UPDATE: To my knowledge, ownership never helped in this situation for any of the 9 parties involved. The credit card companies saw through the situation quickly and put a stop on most cards/ refunded charged debts. I was never informed if anyone was held responsible by restaurant management for this. Has been almost 4 years and I have not been back to this restaurant. Not worth it.

I have been coming to "Cuernavaca Grill" sense I was a baby! Quite literally my parents took me when I was in a stroller. I grew up coming to this Mexican Restaurant. Don't get me wrong i'v been to most if not all the Mexican Restaurants locally, and "Cuernavaca Grill" is the most authentic tasting and has the best atmosphere. Right when you want in you feel like: "This place has the family owned feeling." In which it does! This is no chain Restaurant it is family owned and family owned sense the beginning! I know the family personally. Which everyone would if you go there on a regular basis. The salsa is great, the actual dishes themselves are huge for the price that you pay for the (average around $10). There is a bar, for you drinkers out there and plenty of seating with tables and booths! A must eat place! When I want to go out and eat Mexican that's the only place I go!

This place is out of this world!!! Everything was top notch. Right when you get the chips and salsa you know by the taste you are in for a wonderful experience. Waiter service was great to the point of being overattentive. But the food starting with the cheese dip appetizer was just phenomenal. 2 of my coworkers had the Cuernavaca Fajitas and they were just floored by how good it all was. I had the fajita quesadillas that another yelp user raved about and they were better than I expected. If you love margeritas they are as good as it gets here. Im here on business but if you are out here anywhere within 25 miles come check it out its well worth it

Mexican Cuisine

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.

Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.

Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.
