In short, Ive been here 4 times in 1 wk. Close to home and work. Awesome food, awesome prices, awesome staff and great value for your buck ( especially in this area). Please dont change a thing, dont skimp on the meat and definately not on the quality. Tired of paying $8-10 for lunch and feeling like you got robbed. Value, freshness and great service..this is all normal ppl want. Grecian gyro ..you got this right.

So, as you are visiting your best friends' mother in the hospital, it is polite to make sure she gets fed before everyone ditches her to get food of her own. The night I decided to visit her, was the night the doctor said she could change her diet. Well the doctor never signed off on it, so when we put the order in for her food, it took almost an hour.5 . For someone who had been up for 18 hours on 3 hours sleep and nothing to eat, that was the longest 1.5 hours of my life. I was seriously contemplating rummaging through patients rooms and getting a quick bite to eat. Thankfully, we found out what took so long, and they finally found the doctor to sign off the food. After spending all that time, we decided to hell with the hospital cafeteria, we needed to eat something OUTSIDE of the hospital. So we decided to go a few blocks down the road off of Medlock Br- into Johns Creek Walk. I try to avoid Johns Creek at all costs (unless I am going to see my oldest sister, which unless I have a catapult - I must drive thru JC to get to Duluth)- so I am not very up to date on the stuff it has to offer. The area GG is located is a cool setup- I was kind of disappointed to not see more cars in the area. So we got to GG, and at the time, were the only customers. When I first walked in, I noticed the dark woods everywhere- and the shine on everything. Even the rotating heaters that held the sticks of meat. The menu seemed simple- so I stuck with the basics, and got 2 gyro wraps. I tell you what- one should have been enough. For the price, these things packed a punch! I was in a food coma after the second- but more on that in a second. After you order, they will bring the food to you- while you are enjoying on your Coke products. The anticipation was killing me- as the inside of my stomach must have been the size of a walnut shell. So the 2 gyros were almost a shock... I got them with the meat and sauce only. And honestly, thats all it needed- everything was seasoned well and definitely filling. I should have brought the other one home (I am starving as I write this). Everyone was was friendly, and the food came out quick, and people started to pour in shortly after we were eating- so that was a plus. Cheap, quick Greek in the neighborhood- a solid choice- especially if you need a breather from Emory John's Creek!

This is a fast food Greek joint. Pretty consistent with their food selection. Always made fresh to order and the employees are helpful explaining their menu. Their inspection rating is phenomenal and the restaurant is very clean. Try it. You can't go wrong if you like Mediterranean food.

I'm a huge fan of this place already! My co-worker and I came here on a whim because it was a late lunch and we needed to grab something quick. This place is cozy and conveniently located in a shopping center so there's easy access and plenty of parking available. Upon arrival, we were greeted promptly and had our orders taken as soon as we were able to decide from the tempting menu items. I was craving a gyro when I walked in but noticed their lunch special and decided to order the steak wrap instead. The meat was perfectly seasoned and the pita wrap was nice and fluffy! Got a chance to be greeted by the owner Joe and his staff as well. Keep in mind, all menu items are cook to order so give yourself at least 10-15 minute of time but it's well worth the wait. Fountain drinks are available here and their version of Greek potatoes were seasoned well and fried to perfection. Will have to come back again and try the vegetarian wrap that my co-worker raves about, next time!

I really like this place. I went for a quick lunch since I work nearby. It's new, very clean, aesthetically pleasing, and has fast and friendly service. Plus, the food is yummy! I ordered a gyro, mix of beef and lamb. The sauce was awesome and it had just the right seasoning. They are not huge, so if you are really hungry grab two. es are great too and they do have vegetarian options. I will definitely be returning for lunch or a cheap, easy dinner to go. Opa!

This is a tough place for me to rate. As a Greek Restaurant it's a 3. As a fast food joint it's a 5. Since it's both of those I'm combining the ratings. To explain, the gyros were on the greasy side and none of the sauces were anything special. The salad wasn't the freshest I've ever had but it tasted okay. The potatoes were the one thing that stood out and they were great! The food was at our table before we'd even got our drinks so kudos on the 'fast'. Service was friendly and the 3 teenagers working there were obviously having a good time at work, but not in an unprofessional way. So I'm left with so-so food (except the potatoes) in a fast and friendly, but still polite atmosphere. For my kids, splitting an adult meal gave them plenty of food (2 kids to a portion). I will definitely be back to grab a quick gyro. The price is good and they don't skimp on portion sizes. To top it off, for the same price as a burger you get more and better food. However, I will continue to search for a Greek restaurant to sit down in for a regular meal. Side note: they have a loyalty program with free stuff after a certain number of visits. This program uses an app called "GetOne". I recommend downloading and figuring it out before going in.

Great as a fast food place and a decent selection since it's not a formal sit-down restaurant. Food is ready pretty quickly after the order is placed. You can even watch the food being prepped. Gyros are potatoes are good. Place is small and can get crowded pretty quickly. Wish they were open on Sundays. Desserts are yummy!

Dropped in for a quick bite for dinner. Staff was helpful and the gyro was awesome. That sauce is killer. Only draw back was the sweet tea tasted a little old. No worries, grabbed a Fanta O instead.

I got an order of to go from here for dinner about a week or so ago. I got the gyro, the Grecian potatoes, and spanakopita. I got some extra tzatziki on the side. When I order a gyro, I expect some vegetables inside. I was wondering what the difference was between a gyro plate wrap and a gyro wrap. I now figured out that in a regular gyro wrap, all you get is a whole lot of meat and a couple slices of tomatoes and I guess in a gyro plate wrap; you get more salad and veggies you'd come to expect in a gyro wrap in most places in America. The meat was good but on the heavy side. Yes, it's a gyro and its expected to be a bit heavy but not leaving me feeling bloated (and man that was the first and last time I've never finished all the gyro meat inside my gyro). I didn't think the spanakopita were very good either. Sure, pastry was nice and flaky but the filling left something to be desired. Maybe too much feta cheese and not enough onions in the filling? The Grecian potatoes were pretty good though. It wasn't anything special just to me it seemed like oven roasted potatoes with some seasoning. Tzatziki sauce did not enough cucumbers for a nice cooling taste either. Overall, its not the worst gyro joint I've been to but its definitely not in the good category either; its somewhere within the mediocre to can use some improvement category.

Good Amount of meat however 2 guys waiting in front of me and 2 ladies eating. I ordered Gyro which they pulled from warming bin and not cut off the chunk. no reason not to cut fresh. I will stick Baba's

Nothing special. Very average. had it not been for scoutmob never would have found the place. Not a place I must return to.

The spot is clean and inviting, the staff is friendly, the service is fast, and the food is tasty! The fare was a little salty and a teeny bit heavy, but is filling and fresh! I ordered a gyro plate with potatoes and side salad, gyro wraps, and a spanikopita. The spanikopita was savory and delicious! The dressing was a little too generous on the side salad. I went on a weekday lunchtime and there was plenty of seating and no wait.

A small deli type shop with very good food and fast service. The owner is usually there and makes you feel welcomed and lets you know that she appreciates you choosing her shop. The prices are fair and you get large portions. I have only tried the Gyro plate (twice) and will be going back for the same again. The salad was fresh and tasty and the gyro meat with potatoes was yummy.

I eat here whenever I need to satisfy my Greek craving. They don't skimp on the portions. I will agree that it's a bit greasy especially if you go with the traditional gyro meat. I suggest you try the sirloin instead it's darn good. The staff is always in a good mood and service is fast.

Great option for a quick, inexpensive, but good quality bite to eat. A Scoutmob search turned up this location one night last week, so tried it for the first time on a whim. Very much enjoyed the veggie pita plate, served with salad and potatoes, and companion had a steak plate. Everything was fresh, hot, tasty and filling. Order at the register, pick up the food when they call your number. It's strictly a plastic forks and plates kind of place, so don't head here with any visions of Greek servers carrying flaming cheese and yelling "opa!". Turns out it's also a popular place, and all tables were taken, even pretty late on a cold night. We snagged a couple of seats at the counter. The staff was friendly and fun, and it was easy to see they genuinely cared about doing things right. Always the sign of a well run restaurant. Not a destination place, but a very nice addition to the area. I'll happily stop by again.

Finally a good Gyro outside 285. Been there 3 times. Very clean. Love the lamb gyro. Very hot and fresh. Love the greek salad. Very frendly place. If you are in the area, you need to try this place.

If you mention Greek food to me, I turn into Homer Simpson when he thinks about doughnuts. This is a great place to go to get a quick gyro- I recommend the plate for more options and cheaper costs. The gyro meat can be a bit fatty at times so if that is a turn off for you, get the amazing chicken (that's what I do!) The pitas are so fluffy and tender and that Grecian sauce gives your food a lovely garlicky tang. The Greek potatoes are a bit dense (cut the slices thinner PLEASE) but they have a nice Oregano taste. The Spanakopita look delicious but I haven't tried one yet- too full after the massive gyro plate! I am not a Baklava fan so I can't comment on that but stay away from the chocolate chip cookies as they are mediocre at best.

I went here on a Wednesday night because I used to live really close and I wanted Greek food. I do not think there is anything special about this place, other than it is an average place if you want Mediterranean food. There is nothing to complain about though. The people who work here are fast and friendly, and the place is clean.

Love this place! Have been here many times and service and quality are repeatedly great. They serve delicious authentic Greek food, quality ingredients and it always tastes fresh. Love the potatoes with sauce and the Greek salad with gyro meat. The chicken gyro is also delicious.

I ate there on Wednesday evening and was very unimpressed. I have been in the restaurant industry for 15 years now so I know I'm harder to impress than others. The store was very clean but the service and food needs to be worked on. When I walked in there was only one person in the restaurant and he already had received his meal. It took 20 min for the food to come out. There meat spits were still up without any heating elements on. Who knows how long they had been sitting there. There temperature guide on the wall was also incorrect according to serve safe practices. When I finally received my meal it was ice cold. I usually let management know but it was just a young kid joking with his staff. They were more consumed with having fun then actually taking pride in their work. The food absolutely has potential as long as their employees have passion and take pride in their work.

"Great gyros, fast service and the potatoes are to die for! Don't forget extra sauce!"

While the atmosphere is very pleasing and the service is nice, I wasn't a big fan of this place. I thought the tzatziki sauce was bland and the chicken was just ok. It was a quick lunch and as stated, the staff was great, I just wasn't impressed with the finished product.

Looks and feels like a chain... Borderline fast food. Wow was I wrong. Quick friendly service, and the gyro plate was amazing. Very pleasantly surprised!

I've eaten here or gotten take out on several occasions and the food is fantastic. I've had the Greek salad and also the plate with the Gyro meat and a few of my friends have had the gyro itself. I practically lick the plate clean and that salad dressing is to die for. Not too tart, lots of feta, just right. I would recommend this place to anyone. The only negative is they are a small establishment so if you don't get there early you may not find a seat. Time for them to get a bigger place...they're that good.

5 star fast greek! I'm in at least once a week for lunch. Everything is fresh and tasty and the boys behind the counter are always nice and service is quick. Good spot for a quick lunch or take out.

I went here for an early dinner and mistakenly picked the gyro chicken platter instead of the gyro. The salad was meh, the gyro was pretty good but believe it or not had too much meat and the potatoes were decent. I really didnt enjoy my meal due to paying over 11.00 for this and a drink. Also it was SO quiet in there, no radio, no tv and when I got up to leave, the workers were out back so it was like I was in there alone. They need some atmosphere in there, they had a tv in the corner but it wasn't on. I got so lonely, I left and threw my food away. Also, the last thing I noticed was that I smelled like fried food when I left there. ick!!

I had the Scoutmob deal and have been on a Greek/Mediterranean kick so I visited Grecian Gyro to get lunch to-go. Upon entering the restaurant, I noticed the place was pretty clean and they've got that open-kitchen concept like Moe's. So this was definitely like a Greek fast food place. I decided on a greek salad with souvlaki. I chose the large salad which ended up being a little too much for me but they were definitely generous with the souvlaki. I was pretty happy with the souvlaki. I could tell it had been marinated before and when cooked, it wasn't too hard to chew which can often happen at most places. My only complaint about the salad is that there was way too much dressing on it. Unlike most Greek places, there was no falafel. WTF - where's the falafel?? (Haha ok, maybe I thought I was being clever). This place is pretty basic with offerings, so I'd say it's good place for lunch when you're craving Greek. Just don't expect falafel so I'm likely not to return unless I want to try their gyro.

We ate lunch here today because of the ScoutMob, but I'm pretty sure we'll be back soon. The place was empty when we arrived, but by the time we got our food, it was packed. This is fast food, done right. I had the gyro plate and she had the grilled chicken plate, with a side of falafel to share. Everything was fantastic! From the sauce on the potatoes to the gyro itself, I really enjoyed my meal. They could do two things to improve it, though; more feta cheese and kalamata olives on the salad and real plates & silverware. I hate to think that all that plastic just gets thrown away. Other than that, this was a very good meal. And the portions were huge! I think going Greek once a week is a good thing; you should try it.

Decent food. A bit pricey but its it's convenient for the Johns Creek area. Service on the slow side.

    (4)
  • Charlotte C.

Very good for the price! I had the lamb gyro, which typically only comes with onions. But I asked for lettuce, tomato, and cucumber to be added, which made it messy to eat, but delicious! Also, it doesn't come with tzatsiki sauce, which they don't have. But they have some kind of dressing that's close enough, for which you have to ask as well. All in all, a pretty decent place. I got my order to go, but their seating area isn't anything spectacular. Almost like a little deli or pizza joint. They prepare their food at the counter. Very casual.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY! This is still my favorite place to get a gyro, (exclusively). I have tried other options but my husband and I prefer the specific taste of Grecian Gyro and their salads are always super fresh and delicious. Having said that, I must adjust my original score because of sloppy customer service. My husband and I placed an order and sat down at our favorite table. I noticed that the restaurant had gotten very quiet and the employees were not at the cooking station. I stand at the counter and ask loudly, "Where is our food?" and they run out from the back room. They had prepared the ticket and forgotten to prepare the order and had simply retired to the other room. In their rush to quickly prepare the order, (after the oversight), they did not warm the pita so I had to have it redone. They finally got it right, bu this was not their shining moment. During our next visit, things flowed smoothly as usual. However, they will have to work harder to get a stellar rating because I am starting to think that service is only on point when the boss is on board, (lately). and that is not okay. If I start to sense that this is the case, I will definitely address it because I am all about consistency. Anyway, I'm starting to think that Richard R. jinxed my favorite restaurant but I can't prove it so for now, I will just sit back and continue to enjoy my favorite gyro.

  • Michelle C.

When I called to place my order, the employee didn't seem too informed about their greek items. They didn't know what nuts were in their baklava, they have tahini (not Taziki) sauce, etc. The food: Gyro plate: Good meat on a good pita wrapped with tahini and stringy tomato slices. Flavors were good. The salad was good too. The potatoes were good (never had those before). $10ish Dolmas- rice wrapped in marinated grape leaves. These were canned. Hummus- not the best. The tahini was better. Baklava- they came in a box, not house-made. Basically, it's fast greek food. Prices and taste were ok. But I do recommend the gyro.

Some people on here gave this place under 3 stars ..that's prob because those people ordered like a chicken salad from here lol I mean honestly if u go to a Greek restaurant like this ..ur prob gunna chow on a gyro Not a salad lol Anyways the gyros are on point (maybe if u want more veggies on it ...just stop wanting it cuz idk if there would be sufficient space in this yummy contraption for such blasphemy lolwth) Potato w sauce is homemade. N A+ Protip: don't go to a gyro restaurant and order a chicken salad...I mean damn

I'm sorry to say that I will have to agree with Richard from a previous review. I stop by there to get takeout, I haven't been there in over a year and when I walked in I thought must have new owners because the restaurant was quite dirty. The gyro was okay but I agree it needed lettuce tomato feta and I was quite disappointed that they didn't include the traditional tzatziki. The Sauce that came with it tasted like store-bought Caesar salad dressing. I don't know what happen? when this place first opened I thought it was really good. I won't be back.

Grecian gyro is delicious. The best gyros, potatoes. Salad everything there. We have gone there for almost two years and everybody is so gracious and they want to make sure they do it right and if they don't then they are happy to fix it.

We decided to come here last minute based off a recommendation from our bank and loved it! We ordered a chicken plate and gyro plate after asking what the man running the register suggested. Staff was very friendly and eager to talk about the restaurant with us. The food came out quickly and everything was extremely delicious! The owner brought us out a spanakopita that was to die for. We were so excited to finally find a great Greek place nearby. Definitely coming back!

I visit this location at least once a month. I have to say the food is consistent. The gyros are pretty good. Not so much of the "special" sauce seems to just be a butter based rich sauce. Quick and easy visit in and out in minutes.

May 14th, 2015 @ 7pm - I was sorely disappointed with my visit today considering the excellent yelp ratings. THE SCENE First impressions matter and mine was not a good one! I could visibly see crumbs and spills on the floor when entering and at least half the tables were not properly wiped, still showing stains from previous customers meals. When I first walked in there was only one guy behind the counter. However, by the time he started to take my order two girls appeared from around back. The stainless steel order counter/sit down bar area was notably the filthiest and I seriously considered leaving because to me that is a sign of low standards, especially when it is directly in the staffs immediate eyesight and nothing is being done about. The two young girls behind the counter were far more interested in taking selfies and talking to their friends (that came in shortly after me) than taking a look around the restaurant for what needed to be done. There was a wet floor sign placed by the soda fountain, but apparently whom ever put out the sign didn't find the time to mop. Some of the old spilled fountain drinks had already dried up and turned sticky. THE FOOD After paying almost $10 for a tiny gyro, barely warm Greek potatoes and a drink, I sat down only to find dry meat inside my sandwich. It was so dry the strips of meat were beginning to curl. I immediately brought it to the attention of the girl whom made my sandwich, but all I got was a puzzled look. Despite showing her the dry meat from my sandwich, she repeatedly insisted she'd "just got the meat from the warmer." I understand you got it from the warmer, but it's dry, probably from being in there too long. After she realized I wasn't going to accept the sandwich she called the guy who originally greeted me over to look at it. He never acknowledged the meat was old, but proceeded to slice of some new pieces and put them on the grill. When I got my gyros the second time, it was a proper sized gyros and not tiny like the first. The meat was hot and juicy and the sauce was salty, but tasty. It was not your traditional Tzatziki, but instead a delicious and zesty (probably yogurt based) sauce that really enhanced the flavor of the gyro meat. They didn't bother to replace the potatoes which at this point were completely cold, but I just didn't feel like going back to the counter to complain yet again, so I let it pass. I would have really appreciated lettuce and feta cheese being offered with my gyro since it seemed a little naked. FINAL THOUGHTS Although I do believe it's a great idea to give a restaurant several visits before writing a review, I also believe MOST people will not bother coming back to a restaurant that disappointed them on their very first visit. It's too bad the standards of this particular crew were so low. Had I gotten a properly made sandwich from the start and not felt like I was watching a bad episode of Undercover Boss, it would have been a 4 star review for sure based on the taste of my remade gyro. However, some things during this visit were just unforgivable. The employees here had plenty of opportunity to walk the store and straighten things up, but instead they complained out loud about their work schedule for all to hear, joked with their friends and took selfies. What a sad, sad state of mind social media has placed on the workforce of our country. Too self-absorbed to even do our jobs properly. I get a feeling based on other reviews this is not how other shifts operate, so I will try to come back again at a different time. Maybe then the experience will be much different.

We tried this place again (not sure why, were in the neighborhood and wanted to see if it got any better). The staff was all new and much better, a little more friendly. However, it was 12:30 on Wednesday afternoon and we had to wait an incredibly long time for them to cook all the chicken for our dishes (really, no chicken ready at lunch). We had one chicken platter and one pork souvlaki dish. Basically all crap. Nothing here resembled any greek food I have ever had (lived in NY, ate in numerous greek diners and have spent time in greece on three separate occasions). Meat was not marinated, no skewers, nothing....just dumped unceremoniously on the flat top steel grill and heated.....till it reached temperature.....we saw them fussing with the thermometer to make sure meat was at proper temperature. However, no seasoning on any meat.....tasteless. Potatoes were somewhat interesting as they had all the seasoning...nothing else did. I recommend these guys take a trip to a NYC Greek Diner and ask them to teach them what greek food tastes like..... OH, and $25 for too tasteless platters, me thinks not again (BTW, I would have spent much more if the food tasted good).

This place is good, cheap and relatively quick. I am up and down Medlock all the time, and this is one of the few valid, quick-casual concepts that draws me in. The Gyro and potatoes with seasoning are awesome. The Gyro is mainly meat, not a bunch of filler. Their house sauce is really good. They also get their baklava from one of the main greek places in the country I was told. The staff are always super friendly, and I like that they have started a rewards program. I come here once a month.

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary.
